Montreal Hotel Loft Review ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ There were definitely some positives about our stay. The room was spacious, the staff was friendly, and the location was great for exploring Montreal. Unfortunately, there were also several things that left us disappointed, especially considering we paid a large sum for four nights. I honestly believe we were given a room that was below what we paid for. The room we received did not look like the rooms pictured online, which was very misleading. Also, be prepared to climb multiple flights of stairs. The lofts are not actually located at the main address; they are in a building behind it, which was not what we expected. Another major issue was the housekeeping policy. If you're staying fewer than seven nights, there is no room cleaning service included. They also don't provide adequate cleaning supplies for guests who are expected to take care of the room themselves. If you want cleaning service, it's an additional fee. We also had to call every day to have the garbage picked up from the room. The biggest issue for our family, however, was that something in the room triggered my son's asthma, and he ultimately had an asthma attack that required a hospital visit and an overnight stay. Because of this, we had to leave one day earlier than planned. While I can't say for certain what caused the reaction, the experience was extremely concerning and obviously changed our entire trip. And if you're driving, be aware that valet parking is $55 per day, which adds up quickly on top of an already expensive stay. Overall, the location, spaciousness, and friendly staff were positives, but for the price we paid, we expected a much better experience and a room that matched the photos. The lack of housekeeping, additional cleaning fees, daily garbage requests, stairs, parking cost, and especially what happened with our son made this stay very disappointing.

The room pics are WAY better then what actual rooms are. Literally NO extras not even a bar of soap in the batroom. No mini bar/not a bottle of water which is needed after 84 steps ro get room so 160 EACH way im NOT kidding so we did 480 stps in a day. The location is great but i cant get over the steps for essentially a steril room with zero personality. The saving grace was the shower it was amazing.
The loft (we had an apartment sleeping four) was nice enough, but I never would have stayed there if I had known it was impossible to sleep past 7:30. Our apartment overlooked an alleyway and was right above a courtyard, behind restaurants. Every morning it sounded like a recycling center was organizing bottles and cans right below us - for a good 15 minutes. I mentioned this to the manager and he was very eager to make it up to us, but he said he’d never heard this before. Now I’m reading other people’s reviews and seeing the same complaint. I know it’s not their fault, but for that money you should be able to sleep in. (Also, take out coffee is a bit of a walk.)
We stayed at Lofts du Vieux-Port from Monday to Thursday and had an amazing experience. The loft was beautiful, spacious, clean, and had so much character — the perfect mix of historic Old Montreal charm and modern comfort. The location was incredible, right in the heart of Old Montreal and close to restaurants, cafés, the waterfront, and everything we wanted to explore. It really felt like a home away from home, which is exactly what made our stay so special. The staff were welcoming, professional, and helpful from start to finish. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend Lofts du Vieux-Port to anyone visiting Montreal!
We had a great stay for the long weekend at the Lofts. We were a bit surprised there was no elevator and we had so many stairs to walk up - but the service was excellent and we had help to carry up our bags. We loved the apartment style lofts. It had almost everything we needed in the kitchen to prep food (the only thing missing was a cutting board). Happy that there was an iron and ice tray we could use. We didn’t have a fireplace like a lot of the photos show, but we had a nice jacuzzi tub! The best part for us was the comfortable bed and the location in the old town was perfect. We also loved the big windows which let in good sunlight - too bad we couldn’t open them to get some fresh air. Overall, great experience and would come back.
