Hotel Universel In Riviere-du-loup

Wow, I was very impressed with the excellent quality of the hotel and the rooms. The beds were also exceptionally comfortable! A hotel of this quality is kind of unexpected in this part of the province, but nothing makes a tired driver feel more liberated than seeing this comfortable hotel after a long day of driving. When you arrive to this hotel, you quickly get the impression you're staying somewhere well-managed, safe and a very comfortable stay, and that's exactly the experience I had. I will absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone needing a hotel in this region, especially for an overnight stops going to the Maritimes or back. The hotel is quickly accessible from an exit off the highway.

The bilingual staff were very welcoming and friendly upon checkin. Checkin was quick and I was on my way to my room quickly which was greatly appreciated as I just finished an 8 hour drive. The hotel is much larger than I initially thought but it was easy to navigate, especially with 2 large pieces of luggage. I booked a standard room in the Privilege Club section which was very clean, spacious and inviting. The bathroom was immaculate and the rainfall shower was greatly appreciated after a long day. The hotel seemed to be fully booked that night but my room was so quiet as I didn't hear anything from the neighboring rooms or the hallway which made for a great night's sleep. The hotel is also pet friendly This hotel was recommended by a friend and I am glad I booked my stay here, and will definitely be staying here again.

I had very high hopes for this hotel. I solely booked because of the fun water slide they have pictured which I knew my kids would LOVE! We drove 8 hours and 35 minutes to get here today. I checked in to find out that the water slide is closed today because there is no life guard because they guy said they hire students and they are back to school now.. So how is that my problem ? I have two disappointed kids, who were looking forward to having a fun end to summer. They offered NO compensation for this And to top it off, half of the free arcade machines are broken. The pool itself is nice, the hot tub is not that warm either. I’d say the same temperature as the pool. This is not a 4 star hotel. And the fact that they still make you put a $200 deposit down is mind blowing.. do better for your guests! Even a partial refund would be NICE

We had an east coast trip and passed this on the way there, noting its proximity to the highway and the much needed Tesla chargers in the parking lot. We booked it for our return and it was such a nice experience. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, my kids loved that there was every TV channel available (and someone left YouTube Premium logged in). The pool was lovely and not too busy. Our room was on the first floor right next to the front desk so it was super close to all the amenities. The arcade was very broken, it would almost be better not to have it at all as my kid tried every machine and hardly any of them worked. We played on the very worn out air hockey table and she didn’t seem to mind. AC worked great, beds were stiff (but we prefer that) so we all slept very well. Despite being close to the parking lot and lobby, we didn’t hear a thing. We ordered room service from the restaurant, it was expensive and was quite late showing up. We figured eating in the room would be more comfortable for the little ones. When I tried to call to ask about what time it would show up at the restaurant was very short with me (I found because I only can speak English it might have been the reason for the rudeness) but it didn’t affect our moods. Food was good, despite the unusually high cost for effectively pub food. We go back again for sure. Tons of value for the room rate. Friendly front desk, and had all the services and amenities we were looking for. Our kids had a lot of fun and we were well rested on our departure.
