Awa Boutique + Design Hotel

During a trip to Argentina and Uruguay around New Year's, we stayed at AWA Boutique + Design Hotel in Punta del Este, and it was exactly the kind of place we needed. Its position slightly outside the busiest part of downtown gave us welcome breathing room during peak season without making the city feel remote. The property was peaceful, thoughtfully designed, and surrounded by attractive grounds. Days there were easy. We enjoyed the food, spent time by the pool and in the garden, and appreciated the nearby walking path. From the hotel, we could still walk toward the city and La Mano, the famous sculpture emerging from the sand at Brava Beach. AWA also sat conveniently along the route to José Ignacio, making it an easy base for exploring. What stayed with me most was the value. Punta del Este around New Year's can be expensive and intense, yet AWA delivered comfort, calm, and a strong sense of place at a reasonable price. Its location between Brava and Mansa beaches made it practical, and the smaller scale gave it more personality than a conventional resort. We had a fantastic stay, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Cozy and quiet, lovely breakfast and great spa experience

Beautiful boutique hotel to spend a few days at. Everyone was extremely nice. Rooms are comfy, clean, and with lots of nice natural light and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. The breakfast is awesome. This is my second time and I will come back. The location is incredible and quite peaceful. Not sure if I would go with kids. But for couples and business it's great!

The Awa Hotel is not a 4-star hotel as advertised. The rooms are small and dated, the bathrooms are in desperate need of a makeover(cracked tiles, dirty). The rooms are very small and uncomfortable - small plastic chair with no desk. On the plus the hotel staff were courteous. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay.
