Relaxing peaceful and stunning scenery. Highly recommend. Only 6 of us in our tour, so had the cenotes to ourselves. Absolutely amazing

Itinerary
Discover a different side of the Caribbean with this tour of the Ojos Indigenous Cenotes in Punta Cana, an experience that combines adventure, conservation and local culture. Although Punta Cana is renowned worldwide for its beaches and turquoise sea, more and more travelers are looking for authentic alternatives such as cenotes in the Dominican Republic, booming thanks to the trend of Quintana Roo. The experience begins with the Ridgway Hawk (Spanish gadget), an endangered endemic bird. You will learn about conservation efforts and their role in the ecosystem. Then you will visit the habitat of the Rhino Iguana, a unique reptile of the island that is also under protection. The tour continues in an organic apiary, where you will learn about sustainable beekeeping and taste fresh honey from the hive. Then comes the most anticipated moment: swimming in the crystal clear cenotes of the Ojos Indigenous Reserve, surrounded by rainforest. To close, you will enjoy in Taino Concept chocolate, coffee and Dominican mamajuana, connecting with the flavors and cultural history of the island.

Awesome trip! Roberto was a great guide - professional, knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and gave me all the time I wanted to enjoy the experience. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the trip - on other trips I've known them to get cancelled if they don't get a certain minimum number of people, but I got VIP one-on-one treatment. Definitely take swimming gear - the cenotes are 'fresh' but not cold. The visit was around 2.5 hours in total. Roberto said I was more than welcome to stay longer in the cenotes, but I was happy with the time I spent there. Pickup and drop-off were prompt, drivers professional and safe. No complaints!
The area was pristine and well maintained. Our guide, Soyla, was fluent in English and Spanish and did an excellent job explaining and answering questions. We really appreciated learning about the animals in the area and swimming in the lagoons was the highlight of the day. And the gift shop they took us to on the way home was very nice. I highly recommend.
I loved this tour. It was really good to hear about the conservation efforts at the ecological park and see the bees, iguanas, hawks. It was a nice relaxing walk through the park. It’s all flat ground so perfect for children and the elderly. The cenotes were absolutely breathtaking. The water was clear and vibrant blue, green. We swam in 2 of the 4 swimmable ones. Next time I go I would feel comfortable just getting a ride to the park and exploring on my own. That way I could see more of the cenotes. The park felt safe and there were lots of people there. They took us to a chocolate and souvenir store after where I got a delicious coffee. I highly recommend.
Amazing. The conservation centre was small but inforative. The guide is a conservation worker so coikd answer questions fully. The cenotes are pristine. Touf is small grouos so not busy or overcrowded. Fish, Turtles, perfect clean water.
This is one of my favorite excursions that we have ever done. You start the tour at the hawk rescue center. The carer came out and brought one of the birds out for us to see up close. It was evident how much he cared about the birds and their wellbeing. They are partnered with a falcon rescue center in the US. From there, we learned about honeybees, the rhinoceros iguana, and the coral reef restoration project. We then walked over to the cenotes. There are 12 total but only four are swimmable. We visited two on the tour and got about 30-40 minutes in each one. It was beautiful and the most refreshing water we were in all week! One the way back to the resort, we stopped at the Taino shops. They had samples of chocolate, coffee, and mamajuana. It was a very fun day and we appreciated exploring some of the beauty of the island.
This was a perfect afternoon tour. The location was lovely, the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The walk was absolutely stunning through the woods and the cenotes were magnificent. I highly recommend this tour. Roberto was an excellent guide and we appreciated being able to speak to the hawk expert.
Worth the swim in the Cenotes (2 total), and the walk is beautiful (but watch your step!). Our bus was late so we missed the wildlife “educational” portion. The rest of the experience was extremely rushed. The tasting portion was about three minutes total, grab a tiny cup of chocolate, next a tiny cup of coffee then herded to get a tiny cup of mama Juana.
This was such an amazing experience for us, we loved it so much. Everything was so organized and smooth and we felt very taken care of. The park itself is beautiful and the cenotes were heavenly. The guides were kind, respectful, and super informative. I would recommend going there a 100%.
The tour itself was great. We learnt some interesting facts and had a swim in beautiful clear waters. I was really looking to coffee and chocolate tasting. I was hoping to learn more about it but instead we have been taken to a gift shop which was a little bit disappointing.
This was a wonderful place to visit. We loved the nature aspect of it. We saw hawks, Rhino lizards and bees. It was nice to learn a little about the area and swimming in the cenotes was great fun. You did have to walk a little, so be prepared for that. We went with Get your Guide tours. The ride was very long to get there, only because we spent an hour and a half driving around to different resorts to pick people up and then had to drop them off afterward, which made for a lot of driving time and was very difficult for the people with kids who had to go potty and needed a snack and were getting antsy. But we really enjoyed this excursion.
The tour was very nice and interesting and the cenotes were BEAUTIFUL. They are some of the most beautiful things I have seen.
Cenotes were great. Refreshing.. Wild life exhibits were minimal but the conservation was important. Transportation was not great, on the van for 1.5 hrs both ways, they could have split the pickups.
A wonderful experience swimming in two of the lagoons Roma was very friendly Disappointed that there was more lagoons we could have explored
The cenotes were the highlight. The water was crisp and clear. We appreciated the knowledgeable guides who toured us around the reserve to see the apiary, iguanas and birds.
Roma was our guide and she was amazing. Full of life, funny and very knowledgeable. Pointed out a hummingbird which was probablymy highlight. The pools are absolutely stunning crystal clear waters. Had a great time at the center and would love to go back one day
The ecological tour was rather quick but definitely informative with a great guide. The swimming in the cenotes was definitely the highlight of the tour. The experience was breath taking Remember to bring your bathing suit, towel and water shoes.
Our guide was amazing and we enjoyed every minute - until we have to walk to the lagoon. He said that he thought it was 200 meters. Actually, based on my Apple Watch it was close to a mile each way. My husband really struggled, even with his cane. We stayed at the first, smaller lagoon because we could not walk that far and all the way back. I strongly suggest they / you measure this exactly and make it part the the description- we would have picked a different adventure.
No sneakers needed for the walk (they are rather annoying to take off and on). Wear something that is easy to take off between different lagoons where you can swim. Take swimming goggles with you. You can visit beach and swim there as well.
Interesting spot with fresh water lagoons in the jungle, we got to swim with fish and turtles. There was a honey tasting and tour of the nature center. Guide was knowledgeable and it lasted 2.5 hours.
Friendly tour guides! Honey tasting was our absolute favorite, and the cenotes at the end was the perfect way to end our tour! Short but worth it!
Tour guide was amazing and spoke English very well. The whole experience was well organized and the swimming in the cenotes was amazing. The only negative was the waiting for the other passengers at the gift shop at the end of the tour.
Jose our guide for the eco tour of bees birds and endangered creatures was amazing and a wealth of knowledge and so personable. The cenotes were refreshing wear water shoes as the rocks in the springs are slippery. It was a very good experience and tasting The honey from the bees. The coffee cocoa and mamajuana tasting was in a different site like a souvenir store which was not what we imagined. Expected more of historical experience about them but it was good to have the tasting.
The tour and swimming part are great, but had to spend 2 hours on the bus to get there from the hotel and 2 hours back is kind of too long for the 3 hours total tour. Because they have to stop at every hotel to pick up guests and the hotels are not close to each other.
The walk through the jungle was very short. Most of the time was spent swimming in two lagoons. The corals were shown only in pictures.
This is a walking tour with a lovely tour guide that will take you to see the honey bees and educate you on them. Next, she’ll take you to see the rhino iguanas and will do the same. Later, you will be taken to two different lovely lagoons where you will be able to frolick and swim. This was a very relaxing and very lovely tour. No outside pressure, just education, history and vibes.
Nous avons aimé Be carefull with wich company you choose to get you there! We went with GET YOUR GUIDE and it was painful get there: we stay in the bus for 4 hours! More time than the excursion it self!!! It was desappointing since we where 30 minutes away from the Park. We stop on the highway and we are asked to change vehicule without any explanation, even if many people ask… You have to be part of a tour to get in the reserved area… Once you are there, the visit is wonderfull and the guide there was adorable: the cenote is part of a fondation that does conservation in the area. It was annonce with a coffee, chocolate and typical drink dégustation and cultural visit: it was in fact a gift store: tourist trap!!! Disappointing…
100/10 recommend. The tour was so fun and I learned a lot. Lots of time to swim in the cenotes, make sure you bring goggles so you can see all the fish, turtles, and shrimp! Only downside was the transportation- I’m not sure if all the drivers are like this but ours drove very crazy- even driving backwards in town for an entire block. My friend and I felt so sick by the time we got back.
Jose was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable. As others noted, the transportation to and from the Eco Center may be lengthy but it allows you to see the area as well as the other resorts. My family loved learning about local protected animals. The Cenotes were very refreshing and beautiful. Wear your bathing suit there. Highly recommend this tour.
Get your own cab and book your own tour directly through the Punta Cana Foundation. Booking this is ONLY a transport to the Nature preserve and your ticket for the tour but the tour is through the foundation and you can buy it on your own. The transport is shared and took and hour and a half to go to the destination that was 30 min away. The only add you get is a 20 min visit to a tourist trap store that gives you a bit of chocolate and thimble of mamajuana. I HIGHLY recommend the Punta Cana Foundation tour with the indigenous eyes cenote visit, just don’t waste your time booking it here and spend half your day on a bus.
The eco center was interesting. Since we didn't go into the ceynotes (I wish I had) that period was boring while we waiting. The tasting was mostly an excuse to go to a gift shop. Pickups at the various resorts are an issue. We were in the car 90 minutes until we got to the center and weren't the first to board. At the gift shop we bailed and took an Uber back to the hotel.
Our guide was amazing and the Cenotes were wonderful. My only issue with this tour was the conditions the Hawks are kept. Very sad to us.
The time and the guide (Zailla?) at Cenotes was great, she was a great naturalist and explained a lot about the birds and the ecological impact and endeavors of the programs there. I'd give her 5 stars. The pools were crowded but lovely. I would give 1 star for the transportation provided to and from our hotel. There was a problem reaching someone who had registered and we returned to their hotel (Dreams) and waitied at least 10-15 minutes each time which made our trip to Cenotes from our hotel more than 75 minutes, instead of 20. On the was back we were brought to a touristy store and I felt a lot of pressure to buy things we didn't want. Our driver brought us to the store and then disappeared for 45 minutes. None of our group wanted to be there anywhere near that long. I went back into the shop and asked the staff to find the driver, who seemed very irritated to be brought back to the group 15 minutes after we asked for him. I believe he was having lunch or visiting with friends. Seatbelts in the van did not work for several of us. My advice would be to definitely look for another way to visit the Cenotes area.
There was a bit of misunderstanding on their side as their driver understood we didn’t need to be picked up when I was clear with my message and info from the time of booking that we needed to be picked up from our pick up point (AC Hotel). Our schedule was messed up, my girlfriend wasn’t too happy about it as this was our last day in Punta Cana and flying out the next day explaining to them; they tried to move us around from the original 10am booking to the 2pm one which we didn’t agree upon but they made it right (somehow), they did a full refund by sending someone to pick us up 45 mins later and having done a partial tour still — hawk santuary, iguanas, apiary and the cenotes. We got to the pick up point 10 minutes before our scheduled pick up time and plans didn’t go as planned but they were nice enough to give us a full refund and still swim in the cenotes for a couple hours.
The experience last for one and a half hour, we got to see the wildlife in Punta Cana and how the locals are working to preserve the nature. The cenotes are stunning, this is my first time to visit and I am impressed by how clear and blue the water is. The guide was fantastic, thanks for the amazing tour!
They were professional, on time and communicative and it was a small group of only 18 of us. The tour was quick with minimal tourist trap activities and extensions and everything was super efficient. Highly recommend and great value for money!
This trip ticked all the boxes with the knowledgeable guide and great swimming. I did feel the whistle stop visit at the end, for the tasting experience could have been missed.
The first part of the tour in the reserve was wonderful, the guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the endangered animals in the sanctuary. The cenotes were gorgeous and swimming in them was refreshing. However, after the cenotes we were just taken back to the hotel, and we did not get to visit the shrine, nor did we get to do the chocolate, coffee and liqueur tasting. I was disappointed to not get to do this last section, I was planning on buying chocolate and coffee as gifts but was not given the opportunity.
This experience was very informative. Loved learning about the animals and nature of Dominican Republic. Swimming in the Cenotes was incredible. Our tour guide was lovely.
Very good. Was longer than expected. The only issue was the pickup point. It was difficult to pinpoint because there was no way to know exactly where to go.
Nice roundtrip for the family, where we got to see animals and bathe in the natural pools. Transportation there took unreasonably long though.
The natural pools were beautiful! The water was crystal clear. And the bee information was very interesting. I liked that the chocolate, coffee and mamajuana tasting was at a shop so you could purchase the items and souvenirs too if you wanted.
I think this was a really nice tour the cenotes were beautiful! super nice that they include transportation as well
We had a brilliant time on this excursion. It was very well organised from beginning to end and exceeded expectations. Absolutely stunning eco reserve with plenty to see and the whole place is really well kept which is lovely to see. A special thank you to our wonderful tour guide, José, whose knowledge was excellent, super friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable and engaging. He is a credit to the company and deserves recognition. The pools were beautiful and we got to swim in three of them. Tip - wear trainers/ good walking shoes as there is a fair amount of walking involved! I would certainly book this excursion again.
We enjoyed this entire tour from beginning to end. I was happy to see the conservation effort. Our guide Roma was excellent, very knowledgable and fun to be around. The cenotes were a surprise and we loved swimmimg in the crystal clear water. Would for sure do this tour again.
Quiet and lots of nature. Perfect way to get away from crowds. We saw birds, bees, iguana, turtles, fish, and a hermit crab. Pro tip: download the Cornell Merlin Bird ID app so you can identify birds! Also, wear your swimsuit - we enjoyed swimming in the cenotes.
Crystal-clear turquoise water surrounded by lush nature creates a calm, almost magical atmosphere. The water is incredibly clean and perfect for swimming or simply relaxing and enjoying the view. A wonderful spot to disconnect, recharge, and connect with nature. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This cenote tour in Punta Cana was AMAZING! From start to finish everything was smooth and well organized, and the guides were incredible—super friendly, fun, and full of great info. You can really tell they care about nature and keeping the cenotes protected. The cenotes themselves were unreal: crystal-clear water, beautiful surroundings, and such a chill, peaceful vibe. It was the perfect break from the resort and one of the highlights of our trip. 100% recommend—don’t miss this if you’re in Punta Cana!
Amazing!! It was a last minute booking and I really don’t regret it ! Fantastic organizing, and the landscapes are very beautiful ! The guide Jose in the Fondacion was excellent !
It was everything smoothly done. We were picked up right on time and tour was great. Swimming at lagoon was amazing. We were glad we did take a this tour
