Everything was excellent from start to finish! The early start is by far the biggest advantage of this tour: you get to enjoy almost an entire hour on the main beach with no one else around, before the party boats arrive. Mervin is incredibly passionate about what he does, always polite, kind and welcoming. He makes you feel comfortable throughout the experience, and his knowledge, along with the fascinating information he shares about the places and the history, really adds to the tour. Diego, the other staff member accompanying him, was equally kind and attentive, constantly checking if everyone needed anything. The food was good, too. Overall, an outstanding experience and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Yesterday, we took a day trip to Saona Island, starting very early with a pickup at 05:40am as we were in a different region. We picked up the remaining participants of the small group of only 12 as well as our amazing guide, Melvin - shoutout to him at this point! We went to Bayahibe, got on a speed boat, and first visited the Turtle Sanctuary - if you're lucky, you can see turtles hatching! We unfortunately did not get to see it, but instead got a nice wooden turtle as a souvenir, and coconut oil as a free gift - that was the first highlight! Then we went to Abanico Beach which is a location that can only be compared to what you would call 'paradise'. Teal water, palm trees, white sand - and a lunch included. Afterwards, we went to Palmilla Beach for some snorkeling, saw starfish and stingrays, and as a last activity in Bayahibe Bay, we swam again, and you could see some small fish. Melvin also told us about Haitian and Dominican Republic history, and definitely knows his stuff! Super interesting, even in the early morning! If we could find one downside, it's that the speed boat ride can get bumpy and a little rough, but other than that, it was a fantastic day! Thank you for the staff, Oto and Diego as well, who were very kind!
PLEASE read this review. It is going to be long, but I will have a lot of information that will help you. The PROS: *Our tour guide, Mac, was phenomenal! His knowledge of the country is so thorough. He gave us information dating back to the 1400s. We had English speaking and Spanish-speaking people on our tour so he had to repeat everything twice. It was a lot of work for him and he did a great job! * We got into areas of the Dominican Republic that we would not have been able to see otherwise. We were picked up at the house we are staying at and taken by taxi to an area where we were picked up by the larger 16 seater van. Total, it was about an hour drive to the dock where we got on the boat and a half an hour boat ride to the first island. The island was absolutely beautiful! Just like what you would see on ads for the Caribbean. But as Mac told us, there are about 300 people living there. Half of them fish for a living and the other half rely on tourism. That means you! (More on this to come…) *The buffet included rice, grilled chicken and fresh fruit~ Absolutley delicious! * The men that manned the boat were kind and very helpful. There was no loud music playing or crazy back-and-forth banter. It was very peaceful. I felt safe the entire time we were on the boat. CONS: After we left the “turtle sanctuary”, we went to the most commercialized part of the island. Thousands of tourists descend on this area a day. We were there early, which kept it very quiet. We spent about 3 hours here. As soon as Mac debriefed us, 3 women came over and wanted to do massage demonstrations on my daughters and myself. It felt wonderful and we asked “how much?” One woman flipped over her badge and it said: Back: $50 Full body: $100 We agreed to a back massage. About 15 minutes in, they all offered to demo the leg massage. They decreased the full body massage to $70 each. After 10 additional minutes, the massage was over. I am from the US and assumed (my mistake, I know) that a full body massage would be an hour. Start to finish, the massage was between 20-25 minutes. Be forwarded! Negotiate the time spent on your massage! My gal did a great deep tissue massage and was very friendly. But it was not a good bang for the buck! Plus, as Mac told us, all credit card transactions add 20% tax. This was NOT directly related to the tour, but the tour guides also need to know so they can inform their guests. * If you are looking for a snorkel adventure, this is not it. We spent 3 hours on the beach, about 15 minutes snorkeling to see starfish and about 30 minutes snorkeling in the reef. This may have been clearly stated in the description, but I didn’t notice. I would have chosen to spend less time on the commercialized beach and more time snorkeling.
This is the way to fully experience Sanoa , if it’s a party you want choose the Catamaran Tours however if like us it’s Culture , History and the personal touch you get from a smaller group then 100000% choose this Operator. There’s a reason to go on a speedboat and today these Guys showcased this and we found out why! Thankyou for the experience , one we would absolutely love to do again … Oh and by the way throw Dolphins , Turtles , Starfish and meeting ‘el papá de las tortugas de la isla Saona’ was nothing short of humbling , a day we will never forget
Reviews) "This boat trip was an absolute dream! Getting to see tiny baby sea turtles hatching was a magical start to the day. Out on the water, we were lucky enough to spot both wild dolphins and sea turtles swimming right alongside our boat. We also anchored for some crystal-clear snorkeling and got to gently hold a starfish in the shallows. If you're on the fence about booking this excursion—just do it. It was the highlight of our whole trip!"
Really fantastic day. Lovely guides, great locations, fab food. Super early start but worth if for the emptiness of Saona island
One of the best trips I ever took! Melvin and his crew are all amazing They have so much knowledge to share and it is really appreciated how passionate they are about this place and it’s history. Everything is super organized and on time and you get plenty of time ti explore and swim on your own Bring cash there are options to buy little souvenirs and coconuts The turtle conservation center is amazing and we got to see a hatching The breakfast and lunch are great (know in advance that the lunch is traditional Dominican but had enough options and was delicious) I recommend to bring water shoes to Saona because there are rocks in the water and they warn you in advance and try to stir you to the most convenient spot! Me and my husband really enjoyed this day and the time flew by. If you’re looking for a Saona trip in a small group by speedboat Melvin is your guy!!!!
Top Tour , Perfect day. Enjoy a full day sun & fun. Best Guide, we did this tour twice and wont regret a second.
Getting started at 6 am was totally worth it. We loved seeing the island and exploring the sea to spot starfish, turtles, stingrays and other sea creatures. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we had a terrific time. This will be a memory we will never forget.
This was a brilliant day out. As a family, we all loved it. It felt like a real adventure and Saona is just beautiful. I would 100% recommend this trip to all! Book it!
This was an amazing experience! Taking this small tour was amazing. Our hotel was a little weird about where we could be picked up and they were so accommodating. Melvin was so knowledgeable and the entire staff was amazing. The bus was cool and comfortable. Breakfast and lunch was great. Getting up early to get first access to almost everything was absolutely worth it. The sea turtles and starfish were as advertised. He sent us beautiful pictures he took and you were never thirsty or hungry. We were super lucky to be with a fun group. What an incredible day to learn about and see the beauty of the Dominican Republic. If you take one tour in the DR, this should be it!
I was a bit hesitant to go on this trip from other reviews I had read but I am so happy we went with the smaller group excursion. It was well worth it. Especially if you want to skip the party crowd and have a more relaxed day. It rained on the way there and while we took the boat to the first stop but the sun came out and the day ended up being beautiful. Our tour guide Melvin and the captain Christian were both amazing and friendly. We learned alot about the people and the culture. We had breakfast and lunch. Both were simple but so satisfying and filling. Made with love which makes a huge difference. We got to see the turtles, starfish and a ton of cool fish. It was an amazing experience! Highly recommend.
We had a great time with our guide Melvin. We‘ve enjoyed his very happy and entertaining mood, it was FANTASTIC! We were the first group who has arrived at the stops, so we‘ve enjoyed the beach, the turtles, the seastars and the snorkelling for ourself. The price was absolutely worth it. By the first stop, we even got a little coconut oil as a present from the guide (company) that got it from the locals. We definetely recommend it!! Was super great!
This experience was amazing we couldn’t recommend it more !!! When looking into Saona Island to begin with a lot of other tour operators had bad reviews until we came across this tour. A little more expensive but worth every penny. We got picked up from our hotel at 5:40 and arrived at the port a little after 7, we had a speedboat take us to the turtle sanctuary which is unbelievable to hear all about the culture and history of that part of Saona Island. We then went back on the speed boat to take us to Saona Island where we had hours to relax, we were also the first ones on the island due to our early start which was amazing for photographs and videos. Our lunch was great and Melvin and his team were amazing at giving information and keeping us hydrated and stocked up on rum. After the island we did two more stops to see the sea turtles and Melvin’s knowledge is incredible. After this we saw the starfish again Melvin and the team taught us how to hold them and we got incredible pictures. The day was finished off by swimming and snorkelling around the reefs. Melvin was such a great host and took lots of incredible pictures of everyone for free and sent them through WhatsApp. The rest of the crew was fantastic too helping everyone on and off the speedboats and helping pour drinks etc. Couldn’t recommend this trip enough you really get what you pay for !
If you want a less crowded more informative and more attentive experience this is the one to pick!! To beat all the crowds and see areas the other tours will not give is way worth the early start and the money!
Worth every penny ! It may seem slightly more expensive compared to the Tui ones but if you are wanting an inclusive beach experience with no crowded beaches then Viator is the Company. It is an early start but you soon realise why. We had Saona island to ourselves, just 12 of us for 2 hours before the wave of catamarans and people came over. Visiting a turtle sanctuary and getting to hold starfish, our guide Melvin took so many pictures for us all so we made sure we had this as a memory. Thank you so much !!
Best tour! Melvin the guide was outstanding. Felt safe on the boat and at each stop. We learned a great deal of history while driving to each location. The beach was gorgeous! Starfish and schools of fish were seen. Unfortunately the sea turtles weren’t hatched but that wasn’t anyone’s fault, just Mother Nature. We had Saona Island all to our small group for hours before all the loud party boats started showing up. This trip was amazing.. best thing we did in DR!! Take the trip!!!
Fantastic day from start to finish Melvin kept us well informed about every detail of the trip after we got on the speed boat we headed to have breakfast on the beach followed by learning all about the turtles even got to see some baby turtles after that we headed to sonoa island and arrived before anybody else and it's like paradise the lunch on the beach was good and food was delicious I would highly recommend anyone do this small boat tour it was so good we have booked to do it again this week
We did the Saona Island tour with Melvin and honestly, he was truly amazing! Everything went exactly as described in the itinerary. If they tell you they’re picking you up at a certain time, they will be there on time. Melvin was very organized, attentive and thoughtful with everyone in the group. The breakfast sandwich was good, and they also had juice and coffee available. But lunch honestly surprised me the most! It was absolutely amazing. I fell in love with the Dominican spaghetti and the chicken. They had other options as well but those were definitely my favorites. They also offered fruit and they set up a really nice table for everyone. Melvin himself was walking around making sure everyone had drinks and was taken care of. I’m sometimes picky with food so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but lunch ended up being such a great part of the experience. We had such a nice moment together. I also loved the timing of everything. We finished lunch and left around 1 PM for our next stop, right before the beach started getting more crowded. I honestly wasn’t sure how this tour was going to turn out, especially because we were doing it for my boyfriend’s birthday and I wanted everything to be perfect. And it truly was! Everything went so smoothly, and we had such a great time. 100% recommend this tour. Melvin was amazing, the experience was well organized, and I would definitely do it again! 🇩🇴❤️
Amazing tour top notch Melvin is the best!!!! After the bus ride we loaded into boat smooth ride over… baby turtles… beautiful waters and no crowds were the highlights
We had an absolute blast on the Saona Island Full Day Tour with Visita Republica Dominicana Tour Operator! From the very beginning of the trip, everything was seamless, well-organized, and incredibly enjoyable. Our tour guide was exceptional—he was exceptionally professional, attentive to all our needs, and remarkably knowledgeable. Throughout the journey, he enriched the experience by sharing fascinating historical context about the Dominican Republic, the history of neighboring Haiti, and interesting facts and stats about the broader Caribbean islands. One of the main highlights of the day was visiting the turtle sanctuary, which was an awesome and unforgettable experience. On top of that, the food served during the tour was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. This trip exceeded our high expectations in every possible way, making it a standout memory from our time in Punta Cana. If you are looking for an engaging, informative, and truly top-tier excursion, I would highly recommend booking this experience with Visita Republica Dominicana Tour Operator!
Amazing and informative experience. The entire staff go above and beyond for the entire duration of the trip
Melvin was genuinely amazing from start to finish — he truly wanted us to have the best experience and he delivered big time. Got us first at every spot so we beat the crowds and got the best views. Took loads of brilliant photos for us too, never once expecting anything in return — such a kind guy. The knowledge he’s got is unreal — explained the mangroves, the turtle sanctuary, and all the history in such an interesting, funny way that you actually listened and learned. And his crew? Just as brilliant — so helpful, funny, and kind the whole day, made it feel like we were with mates. Everything was perfect — I’d recommend Melvin and his team to absolutely anyone. Don’t think twice, book them!
This was so well organised, we loved that it was a relaxed small group, early start but so worth it, we were the first on the beach and had so much free time to enjoy as we pleased. Our tour guild Melvin was amazing, he shared his knowledge about the islands and the history was great, also spoke brilliant English, we had a free gift and free photo's. The food was delicious and constant drinks being provided. This is a must do excursion.
Amazing experience. Our tour guide was elite. Must do activity and visit this place. Wonderful time.
Great experience! Melvin was awesome and very knowledgeable. Had a great time and created long lasting memories.
Booked this excursion for my 20th wedding anniversary and me and my husband loved it! Melvin and as our tour guide and he was great! Very knowledgeable of the island and its history. He made sure everyone was taken care of and explained so many things. One of his boat helpers Diego was great too. They both were able to answer any questions we had and guided us through the experience well. The island was beautiful! The ONLY complaint I have is that when on the island the workers were very persistent in trying to sale you a massage or any of their items and it got kind of annoying. It’s a full day excursion and you are on a boat a lot of the trip but once on the island I feel it was worth it. I give not only the experience but Melvin and Diego 5 stars!
If you want to visit Saona Island, then book this tour! You will head out early morning from your pickup but the early morning is worth it as you get plenty of time by yourself at Mano Juan where you'll have a nice breakfast and visit the turtle sanctuary. Then you go to playa Abanico, and it'll be like a private small group experience as you are one of the only ones there and with reserved seating, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the beach before having lunch. By the time the big boats and all the people start coming you're already leaving and off to the other sites where you'll look for turtles, starfish, and snorkel if you want. Tour guide Melvin and crew Otto and Diego were excellent and very professional, friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was taken care of. Detailed history about the island and importance of mangrove tree/nature and the importance of turtle conservation were also highlighted on the tour. This is definitely the tour you want if youre headed to Saona island! When talking to other guests at our hotel about their excursions to Saona island on other tours, they wished they had taken our excursion instead! Bring water shoes and towels.
I see now why this excursion is highly rated. Everything from booking and confirmation to pick up and transportation and the excursion itself was fantastic. Our tour guide Melvin was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we had the best experience. The island is absolutely beautiful, the little side trips were a bonus and surprisingly the lunch was very good. The only downside to the entire trip was the AC in the van that took us to the marina did not work well. We sat in the back and on the way to our hotel the sun was beating down on us and we were pretty uncomfortable. Other than that, we only have good things to say. We almost canceled the excursion at one point because we didn’t want to leave the resort for the entire day. We are so glad that we did not do that because this excursion ends up being the best part of our trip to the Dominican.
Melvin and Pedro were amazing. Both were very informative and attentive the whole time, and they made sure everyone in the group was looked after. Waking up very early in the morning was completely worth it. Highly recommend this experience!
Small group was so much better than a large group He took us to the small village to see the turtle sanctuary. He made it very personal. The Beach chairs were reserved and lunch was very good. Getting there early was key to fewer crowds. Excellent experience overall. Melvin was so kind. Give him a raise.
Seriously perfect day on this excursion. Going to the turtle sanctuary and seeing the hatchlings might have been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We did not want a booze cruise with 100 of our newest drunk friends. We wanted a calm and soul filling beach and tour day. This excursion totally delivered. It's a little more expensive than others to the island, but totally worth the quality of the experience.
Absolutely amazing. Melvin made it a top notch experience. There were little extras the whole time. He gave an optionalchistory lesson about the Dominican Republic and Haiti that was honestly one of the best history lessons I've ever heard. He was so knowledgeable and passionate. He took us to a town that most tour guides don't take groups to, including visiting a turtle sanctuary. Amazing beach time and lunch, grilled by him. Then fantastic snorkeling. He explained everything so well and treated both the guests and his employees superbly. He took photos throughout that he shared at the end. Can't recommend him enough.
This was honestly the best part of my entire trip in Punta Cana. Melvin was phenomenal and was super knowledgeable about the country’s history, current issues, and about local communities. Everything he had to say was fascinating. The transportation to Isla Saona was first via a big mini van/small bus that has both air conditioning and Wifi. Pickup for me was at 5:40am due to where my resort was located, but it was worth it because when we got to the beaches we basically had it all to ourselves before all the big party boats and noise arrived. Before the beaches we also visited the turtle sanctuary where we were able to learn about the importance of sea turtles, their history in DR, and about the Founder, Pelagio Paulino, who we also got to meet! We were lucky enough to sea baby sea turtles that had just hatched! It was incredible. The beaches and natural pools are beautiful. The local homemade style food buffet was honestly way better than my resort’s food. You can just taste that traditional Dominican sazón. Drinks such as rum, beer, water, and sodas are provided. Things I will note is that you should bring water shoes, sandals with strap, or some kind of footwear. I used water shoes as well as cushioned sandals with a strap for the walking because my feet are not the best without some type of support/cushion and it was great, no issues. There is not a lot of walking, the walk to the turtle sanctuary after arriving to the island took about 5 minutes. However, besides sand, you do walk on concrete, leaves, some rocks especially in the ocean, etc. If you have bad knees or bad feet, I think you’ll be okay. The hardest part is probably getting on and off the speedboat since you have to step over the boat’s rear ledge, but the boat captain and other employees are there to help you get on and off. To get to the island takes about 30min from the port and then the rides to the other beaches and natural pools are much shorter, maybe about 10-15min. At the beaches there are beach chairs but no towels are provided, so bring your own towel! This is definitely NOT a party boat type of vibe, so if you’re looking for a big group with loud music and partying/dancing, I don’t think this tour is for you. This tour is more of a peaceful, relaxing, vibe with history mixed in and also visiting the only part of isla Saona that has people living in it, which other tours do not do. If you’re wondering if the money is worth it, I personally think it is, not only for the experience, but also because part of the money goes to the local community in Isla Saona. This is a tour I definitely recommend and would honestly do again.
I had the best time in this trip as a female solo traveller. Everything was just spot on. I have no complaints, I felt safe at all times and trip was absolutely stunning, more than worth the money, Melvin and his crew were great people.
Great trip with a great guide in Melvin, early start but this was in no way a negative, first at the only inhabited part of island, tour of rural area and a visit to local who rescues turtle eggs and releases them when they hatch, then first again at next beach for relaxing and lunch, speed boat in both directions with small group of 14,this is the 3rd time we have done trip up saona and this was by far the best, no banging music just a very informative guide, would def recommend this trip
A quick but IMPORTANT NOTE before starting, ABSOLUTELY bring a bag of any kind, pack it light to not worry about anything unnecessary, and absolutely BRING SANDALS/flip flops; you can buy some at the convenience store or most resorts, they are worth the money to have. Me and my wife absolutely loved this tour, the pickup time is 6Am, but it is entirely worth it for reasons I will explain later. We were picked up in a large van and driven to the takeoff point, stopping only one time at a nice convenience store which is located close to the takeoff point. It was nice to get to such a spot and buy things that are not regularly available at our resort, or that are immensely overpriced at our resort. After loading up on energy drinks; we embarked to the takeoff point. I want to note that THE DRIVER WAS WONDERFUL. Our guide Melvin Duran shared plenty of wonderful history of the island, the agriculture, the economy of the island, and more on the way to the takeoff point. Upon arrival to the boat yard, we met our captain Otto(?), and the wonderful tour guide helper Diego. They helped is all board the boat which is well kept. After taking off from the port we hit open water. Second IMPORTANT NOTE, Melvin pointed it out but TAKE OFF your HATor it will be blown away in the wind. Also, to no fault of the crew, it simply will be a bumpy ride to the island so early in the morning with the winds blowing full force and waves being abundant, so HOLD ON TIGHT. After the ride we disembarked the boat at the first stop, Mano Juan / Adamanay. We met with the owner of the turtle sanctuary, Negro. Melvin told us so much about how the sanctuary works, how it is funded, the history of the town, and also fed us breakfast upon arrival. There are BATHROOMS at the FIRST & SECOND STOP. After the first stop, we boarded back onto the boat and went to the beautiful beaches. THIS IS WHY YOU WAKE UP AT 5AM! Due to how early this tour sets out, you are the first or second boat on the beach. There is hardly anybody there. Just a beautiful beach and views. Every picture you want to take is available, every angle of the beach, there is truly so few people and it is amazing. After about 2 hours you will start to see for yourself exactly how busy it gets. The other larger company boats will all start piling in, blasting music, load phones, speakers, nearly 100 people crammed onto the boats. It is this moment you will understand how great the tour is. And soon after your realization, lunch will be served. I will not go into crazy detail about the rest. But please know, IT IS WORTH THE EARLY DEPARTURE! It is far more intimate and beautiful! And once again, THERE ARE BATHROOMS AT THE FIRST AND SECOND STOP, so make sure you’re good before leaving the beach. Final note, take part in the snorkeling and be patient with learning the equipment, it is loads of fun. I hope this review helps!
Amazing Saona Island Small-Group Boat Tour headed by Melvin. We had a fantastic experience on the Saona Island small-group boat tour! From start to finish, everything was well organised and enjoyable. The crew were friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome throughout the day special shout out to Melvin and Diego! Visiting Saona Island was definitely the highlight. The crystal-clear turquoise water, stunning beaches, and relaxing atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. The smaller group was a big plus, as it felt much more personal and relaxed than a large group tour. We really enjoyed visiting the turtle sanctuary and the stops for swimming and snorkelling for starfish and the food was great! A big thank you to the fantastic crew for making the day so special. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Dominican Republic. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was the best day I have ever had .it went brilliantly from being picked up on time .the hosts were amazing. I couldn't of wished for better ...Melvin and co workers .the young lad on boat helping me on an off the boat as I have a bad knee nothing was to much for him and he made me feel safe getting back into the boat ...
It's a great experience really worth it.... Melvin and the crew are very experienced and very informative
Beautiful destination and a great guide! I enjoyed everything about this tour and even learned some history of Hispaniola
We are so glad we booked this tour. Melvin is clearly a passionate man when it comes to the heritage, history and conservation of Sanoa Island and has crafted this experience for those that want a small dose of that along with a small group day excursion to Sanoa Island. As per all the other reviews you get to the main beach long before the party boats so can soak in the idyllic picture perfect Carribean Island vibes and grab all the pictures you want long before the beach gets overcrowded and overrun with the masses. Lunch is a traditional beach bbq and you find yourself heading off to seek Turtles in the clear mangroves as the masses start to land on Sanoa. We were lucky enough to see several turtles before boating off for some swimming on another picture perfect spot (a sandbar) between Sanoa and Biyahibe. Think clear crystal turqoise waters where you can stand up 2 miles out! Can’t say we were bothered with the final spot near the harbour for snorkelling as didn’t see many fish and the water was very choppy here but overall a fantastic day out we would highly recommend to those that don’t just want to get drunk on a boat full of 50+ people with boomy music blasting out. Melvin takes loads of pictures throughout the day and sends these on to you for no extra costs. Indeed there are no pushy sales at any time on this trip and Melvin is also good enough to help you haggle any items you may want to buy on the beach from sellers so that you don’t get ripped off. Plenty of rum provided throughout the trip but do recommend buying a pina colada in a pineapple on the beach as was lovely.
Our tour guide Marvin was the stand alone reason we will be coming back and bringing our families just for his tour. There is not enough room to explain the level of exceptionalism for Marvin and his crew.
We absolutely loved this tour and would 100% recommend it. It was one of the highlights of our holiday. The small group made such a difference – it felt much more personal and almost like having a private tour rather than being part of a large organised excursion. Our guide was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole day really enjoyable. The beaches were absolutely stunning. One of the best parts was arriving early enough to enjoy an incredible beach while it was still peaceful and virtually empty – turquoise water, white sand and no crowds. It really did feel like we had our own private piece of paradise. There was also a great variety throughout the day, including visiting Mano Juan, learning about the turtle conservation project, snorkelling, seeing starfish and spending time swimming and relaxing on the beautiful beaches. Everything was well organised without the day feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a Saona Island tour, I would definitely choose this small-group experience over one of the large boat tours. Absolutely amazing day and highly recommended.
This is an excursion that is highly recommended to everyone looking for something to do in Punta Cana! Melvin and his crew were amazing and Melvin himself was exceptional. He was an excellent tour guide, he made sure his guests were comfortable and the food served was truly Dominican food. If your looking to enjoy arguably the best beach in DR with peace and tranquil, then you will not be disappointed.
Seriously the best excursion in Punta Cana. Melvin is very passionate about his job and makes sure all guests have the best experience possible. The 6am departure time is very early, but well worth it. We had the whole island to ourselves for an hour and a half before the crowds showed up. By that time, Melvin had the whole group packed up and onto the next adventure. 15/10 highly recommend
My husband and I attended the Soana Island small group tour and one word that comes to mind is AMAZING!!!! Melvin and his team literally treated us as his kids. Made sure we were educated and safe. From pickup to drop off they were professional, kind, informative, protective and they made sure we had an amazing time. I can’t say it enough. If you don’t go with Melvin And his team you’ve made a bad choice. The lunch provided was delicious and tasted as if Abuela cooked it. I must say that my absolute favorite part was the sandbar stop to see the starfish. I can’t say enough to make this excursion stand out. Trust me and try it!!!! Melvin GRACIAS!!!! Quedamos super agradecios por el servicio Y la experiencia.
It was awesome!! I loved that it was a small group and our tour guide Melvin was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend if you want more of an intimate experience versus a large crowd. The boat is a little rough going out but that’s expected. Overall 10 out of 10.
Great excursion. Guide was fantastic Great beach location.small group is the way to go. Well worth the money. Stopped for breakfast at turtle exploratory and saw how the help hatch the turtles and protect them from their predators. Saw mango trees in the water and large turtles. Stopped at Sandbar and saw two starfish. They only reason I didnt rate it a 5 was the van used needed to upgraded
This excursion was amazing! The Pick Up was punctual and on time. Melvin, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the the island of DR as well as the Sonoma island. From light breakfast while visiting the turtle sanctuary to an authentic buffet lunch and private beach chairs and free time at Abanico Beach, then watching the sea turtles in the mangrove, to swimming with starfish on the sandbar and finally snorkeling at the reef, Melvin and his crew were very warm, welcoming, genuine, and cared about showing us a great time. No up selling, he even took group photos and sent them to us at no additional cost. Would highly recommend this excursion.
