This saona island tour was one of the best and most fun experiences I’ve ever lived. Everyone involved was 10/10. Everything about the tour is amazing. Will definitely be doing this again in the future.

The best experience, amazing 😍😍😍
I have never done a review before so it's so bad to make me do this! I'll try to make this short and hit key points. Please READ EVERYTHING! DONT BUY THIS! Absolutely disorganized from start to finish, First you pay for transportation, they send you people that don't have proper access to resorts so we were scrambling to find a ride to the front gate since it was so early and driver couldn't enter. Next they take us to a gas station where we are taken off the van, to sit and wait with no direction of why we are here, 100s of people just running around crowed having no idea what's going on and then rushed on the a bus 20 mins later where multiple people has to get off since they were on the wrong one..(disorganized) You get to the boats area which is a complete mess, over 30 beach people trying to sell you the same things bothering you and pestering you for what feels like forever as you just sit in unshaded beach area getting destroyed by the sun sweating while waiting in line to get on boats, which people are switching boats pulling them out switching "hosts" just terrible. Next the ride would have been fun since we were one of the lucky ones that didn't break down half way to the island....but it wasn't fun since my LIFE JACKET DIDNT HAVE BUCKLES!!... they literally put the belt through a broken buckle and just tied it, such an unprofessional appearance and extremely unsafe! Only positive was beach was beautiful! Water was amazing, food was terrible no care to cover the buffet style food just letting flys sit on food until someone comes to get a plate and oooo best part none of the sales people have CHANGE! (supposedly) Lol such a joke. The ride back was fine but so long and pretty annoying since they go slow to try and sell the photos to everyone! Our ride back took almost 2 hours no joke so travel time almosted doubled the time we spent out at the Beach! Terrible experience! BEST PART IS NEXT PLEASE READ THIS!! So once that long nightmare is over we finally get to our bus which we had to find OURSELVES because our tour guide was more worried about selling photos then telling us the next guy we had to meet with smh. At this point we are on our 4th person...like what!?? Anyway! We AGAIN arrive at a gas station and a NEW PERSON jumps on and says something about this being our stop so a bunch of us get off and then he says ooooo no you guys are needing to stay on bus and wait for next transport, we and a few others say ok we are going to use the bathroom and come back to bus. I the husband is sitting outside the bathroom waiting for my esposa to come out and next thing you know they close the door on the bus and just drive off as soon as the other person using the bathroom came back to the bus.....no count was done, no coming to see if anyone was in the store...NOTHING JUST LEFT AND QUICKLY! UNACCEPTABLE. Thank God my wife speaks Spanish and we are young because what if we were old and didn't speak the language? Not to mention our phones were dead!! Just absolutely ruined our day after the beach was what kind of saved it! Oooo and you may ask well what did the company do to make this right or help you in this situation? If you choose if ignored you and won't respond to messages for 500 you are right Alex! Because exactly what return a call or a message but they were responding to everything before i showed how unsafe and unprofessional their tour is! I know this was long but I'm trying to save someone from this trash company.
To start the day we were picked up by a nice van, just my wife and I. We drove 10 minutes to a gas station and they told us to go inside and wait for few minutes… weird but okay. Then our driver who spoke little to no English left without telling us anything. Then more people going to the island showed up and we were all told to get on another bus. Then we were driven to a souvenir store for people to buy stuff for 10 minutes.after the hour bus ride we arrive at a harbor that was utter chaos. There were easily 500 people in the harbor waiting for their boat to the island. Our guides had us wait at a convenience store for our group to be called. At this time we had 1 guide that willingly translated what he was saying to English (even though this tour is listed as having an English guide). After 45 minutes of waiting our guides start yelling and walking us all to the loading area. We then get on a boat and the guide is giving directions to us in Spanish. Luckily a person on the tour translated for us. We arrived at the natural pool and they brought rum and coke around 1 time and everyone just stood around until the camera guys came and made us take photos to sell us later. Once we got back on the boat to the island, they stopped 50-60 yards off the beach to “ask” for tips. The crew-mate walked down the middle of the tiny ass boat and stopped in front of every couple to get a tip. I didn’t have my wallet ready (because I wasn’t planning on tipping his terrible service) but he stood in-front of my wife and I for 5 minutes until I fished my wallet out. I truly think we would still be sitting out on that boat if I refused to give him something. When we got to the beach the guide in Spanish was giving directions and relying on another guest to translate to us what the food and drink options were. And it was the bare minimum. Open bar really means: Coke and rum, sprite, or water. Anything else you had to pay for. The food was pretty bad. They did not tell anyone what we were eating and when I found a shell of an unknown crustacean in my spaghetti I figured it was time to stop eating. My wife and I had to swap chairs around to have to functioning chairs next to each other which was already annoying. After we were pestered by vendors selling massages and souvenirs I fell asleep and she read for 2 hours. Everyone started loading up to go back to their boats or onto the catamaran to go back to the main island. We boarded the small speed boat to take us out to a catamaran that would sail us back. The catamaran started the drive with ear piercing music which no one was prepared for and the seating was pretty uncomfortable. They offered drinks and the crew danced which was fun. When we got back to the harbor they sent us back to the conscience store for another 45 minutes and then directed us a big group to the buses. The ride home did not start until a random man came on and asked if we wanted to buy mamajuana with our photos on them and then when we refused he left and the drive started. We then stopped at random locations for people going to specific resorts to change buses and let some of the crew off at random destinations. We literally pulled off on the side of the highway and let the camera guy walk down the side of the highway. All in all, if we didn’t have 1 guide who translated a few things and another tourist who also translated for us we would have been screwed. But the island was beautiful and that’s what my wife kept telling herself. We would not do this tour with this company EVER again.
Spent more time waiting at pickup location than at the beach. The food offered was not the food listed in the description
Platinum transfer did not show up at our hotel. Wasted the whole morning. Waiting to see if they reimburse my card. No apologies given .
We had the best experience with platinum transfer they are so punctual, professionals and experience people. They work with you according with your needs 100% recommended. We also used them for transportation outside of the hotel very happy with them.
Misleading advertising and terrible service. The group was significantly larger than 30. We also had to wait more than 1 hour at a petrol station to get into a second bus. When I complained to our diver he said ‚Not my problem’ - wow. The return was a bit better with a 35 minutes waiting time but still… The food was acceptable. Shame that the coke was warm for the rum and coke. The boat capitan was extremely pushy requesting tips and made quite a few people uneasy. The island is beautiful but wasted by endless rows of plastic chairs.
This was a wonderful full day excursion!! My husband and I enjoyed it all, from the speed boat ride, the swimming area, Saona Island (which is incredible), the yummy lunch, and the catamaran ride back!!
Worse experience ever. The company was almost 30 minutes late. Couldn't reach company. We were told we had the option of a private tour when we got to the pier. Nope that was not the case. This was well over 8 hours. More like a 12 hour nightmare. Open Bar means rum and coke or sprite. Nothing else period. Food was horrible and this company has the worse chairs on the beach. Paid for 13 people to waste a day. We didnt back to our resort until 7:00 at night.
My favorite excursion of my trip worth the money and the time, we Had fun the entire time from start to finish!
Terrible experience. I would not recommend this to ANYONE. It is a waste of your time and money. We got picked up from our hotel at 0700 we arrived at the beach to get a Catamaran to take us to the island and we waited 40 minutes before anyone approach us and realized we didn’t have a tour guide and no one was assisting us. Poorly organized, and we didn’t get to the island till 1 pm… we went straight to eat and we were told we were leaving the island at 3 pm. How about that 🤬🤬🤬. We paid too much money to have a good time and we didn’t. Choose a different company maybe you’ll have a better luck…
I wanted this to be as good as most reviews said it was, however, it was not even close. To start with, after being picked up by a shuttle we were taken to a parking lot where we sat for almost an hour and a half waiting. Our driver said it would be “a little bit”- that was the only communication we ever received from him. During this hour and a half wait, another car pulled up and our driver got out of his vehicle and went to sit and talk with the new vehicle. After sitting for the initial 45 minutes, my husband went to ask what was going on and the reply he got was that we were “waiting” on some guests that were running late and it should be “soon.” There was no communication after that until finally 3 more shuttles pulled in around the same time and we were finally waved to get on another shuttle. From there we were taken to another parking lot where we were put on yet another shuttle. When we finally arrived to get on the boats to head out, we were met with pure chaos and a completely unorganized group of people. I’m honestly not sure how we made it to Sanoa Island. This trips saving grace were two things; the endless Rum and Cokes and the food served at lunch was actually quite good. In the end we spent most of our day being shuttled to and from the outing. The blue lagoon and the beach were pretty, but I honestly can’t say that I think the many hours of chaos and shuttle time are worth the trip.
Pickup from hotel was ok, than we got the meeting point where we lost 45 min trying to figure out what van we will take to the port.. no one speaks English so it's confusing... speed boat ride was ok.Island beautiful and we had fun swimming. Lunch was ok..nothing special...coming back on the catamaran was fun! Good atmosphere so we did purchase 5$ hats on exchange for tips. Overall we had a fun day!
It was amazing... dont hasitate to book this Trip ... food on the Island was tasty ... catamaran párty boat was a lots of fun and the Island is just a dream
The Saona Island is beautiful! We spent 2.5 Hours in the beach + 30 minutes in the Natural Pool. Picked up from our Hotel @ 7:30am & back @ 7:30pm (Total of 12 Hours). The travellers should have been provided with this info from the tour description from by the beginning. Hotel pick up by Van to Bus Terminal (30 minutes) >>> Bus with AC[50-60 people] to Emabarkation (1-2 hours including wait time for boat) >>> Boat Ride (1 Hour) to Natural Pool (20 minutes stay) >>> 15 minutes boat ride to Saona Island >>> stay for 2.5 Hours >>> Head back with different slower boat with 80-100 people (3-4 hours) >>> Back to Bus [50-60 people] to Hotel (1-2 Hours). If I knew this ahead of time, I would have just booked a Private Speed Boat for a smaller group.
I went to Isla Saona with this company and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service! I had an amazing time!
One more time in Saona Island with you Platinum Transfer and it was great, I love this tour, the sea VIEW in the Catamaran listening to good music 😎🔥🔥 was great, thank you so much my daughter enjoy a lot dancing and swiming in the natural pool
Amazing service! I was able to experience DR on another level thanks to Platinum transfers. Best believe I will be back soon
Best Experience ever with Platinum transfer, the service and staff was phenomenal. Saona Island was an amazing experience.
Over all the best experience isla Saona was amazing in travel i have ever had , great costumer service and attention , felt a warm welcome and feels like everyone is treated like family i highly recomend
Took 5 hours, 2 buses, and 3 boats to even get to the island. They serve no snacks, only rum and a very late lunch almost 7 hours into the excursion. When we finally got to the island, there were ZERO activities, only an extremely rocky and painful beach. The cherry on top was very poor communication/negligence for English speakers and sheer disorganization. The organizers were very insensitive and reckless. By the way - this is NOT an 8 hour excursion, it was over 12 hours. Take your money elsewhere.
Isla Saona was a wonderful experience! I enjoyed the ride on the catamaran, the calm water, and beautiful scenery at the natural pool. Must see! 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Saw some of the island enroute...enjoyed the speedboat and catamaran...natural pool was awesome. Delicious lunch - especially enjoyed the lobster upgrade! Tour guides were well organized and hospitable!
The staff on the boat were rude and giving us hats then coming around and telling us they are in exchange for tips. I gave mine back. There were several staff laying around on their phones. The catamaran ride took forever...we were going so slow i think just to kill time before we got to the Island. The food there was great and the scenery was wonderful, but staff terrible.
<p>going to Saona Island is always a pleasure , it just seems like there lacking ... but overall a good trip and a must see and do when in DR !</p>
While the island and surrounding waters are beautiful, there is so much over tourism that it's ruined it. The water where you swim is full of speed boats spewing out their exhaust right where all the people are trying to swim. It's basically a beach that has nothing but people trying to sell you junky jewelry and massages and have bathrooms that are so disgusting you'll just want to wait until you get back. Really the beach at your resort is just as nice and much more relaxing.
<p>Not family friendly and organized chaos. Long bus rides with lots of waiting and switching vehicles. Booze cruise, boat ran out of gas, and speed boat flooded and nearly drowned us as we were trying to get off at island. Food was cold and horrible. It was a traumatic experience for my kids. Very scary</p>
<p>This is not for a family with young kids !!! Unless if you want your children to be around a bunch of drunk people including the crew and dancers twerking... Issues: picked up from hotel 40 mins late, boat ran out of gas, bathroom on the boat didn’t work .. I could write more but Viator is limiting</p>
<p>My favorite excursion on our whole trip. From pick up to drop off everything was amazing. The workers on the boat are great they offer drinks and make sure everyone dances and the beach and lunch was beautiful and delicious</p>
<p>The place is beautiful. I recommend it and bring lots of sunscreen. We were staying at Now Larimar and were picked up on time. The only confusion is the transferring of buses. That is the only thing I didn't like. One bus picks you up, they make a stop at a gas station and have you wait there and then another takes you. It was a bit crowded in the bus as well. It's a long trip because of the transportation. Would I do it again probably not. Once is enough. When you get to the Island you will be attacked with people trying to sell you coco oil, massages, and jewels. If you aren't interested in any of that just say it as soon as you get there. We were on the beach for about 2 hours. Please bring cash and tip the people who help you on the boats, very nice people.</p>
<p>About the Tour Company: was very responsible, they picked us up a bit late because a hotel confusion, I was staying at Bahia Principe Fantasia and it is a very large complex with different hotels. </p> <p>About the Tour: It is very beautiful, it was a nice experience. What I did not like was all the people trying to sell you stuff, handmade jewelry, massages, pictures, ect. The beach is a bit rocky.. but after Saona Island they take you to a natural swimming pool, this was my favorite part, is absolutely amazing, water is crystal clear. The bad part is they leave you here for only about 30 minutes, I wish the whole tour was in this area..</p>
Very good experience all full
Transportation was a failure Platinum company is a disaster from the driver the lack of respect with the time of the customer and the physical appearance was not responsible for a company.. they must invest more in their vehicles.. like a water this lack of fuel.. Sorry to have to give this opinion but it was a reality..
I loved the experience, the driver was very cordial and very kind, they are very punctual, I really loved the experience, I would definitely choose them again💯💯💯💯
This review is based solely on personal experience and therefore reflects only personal opinions. This activity was booked by us on holiday on the Dom Rep. An absolute must if you are on holiday on the Dom Rep. A beautiful day trip with a breathtaking view. There are not enough words to describe this beauty, so take a look at the pictures and experience it for yourself. Also the crew who organized everything and looked after us all day, perfect! The only thing you can possibly complain about is that the island was already very crowded towards the end by people who were rather less interested in nature and beauty than presenting themselves for Instagram there. Well, everyone is entitled to “enjoy” it the way they want it. Travel and experience adventures 🤙🏼
Definitely Isla Saona is the mandatory tour, the best of all! I do not recommend buying this tour in advance in Brazil, because here it is much cheaper and you can negotiate directly with the agencies and all other tbm tours, especially here in the low season it is possible to get a good deal!
Excellent service. Thanks for your attention. Pick up at the hotel on time, we met another hotel while we waited for other people. The island is divine, the food is typical Dominican, and we had a massage. We had a good time.
The beach is beautiful and very rustic. Lunch served is very simple. The catamaran ride is long. It's almost 2 hours. For those who get seasick, better not go. By motor boat it is much better.
Saône Island is charming, the natural pool is wonderful a unique experience. You should only improve the coordination in the collection and transport to Bayahibe from where the catamaran starts. A little disorganized in my opinion but the excursion is definitely worth it
Stunning one of the most attractive part was the natural pool uuff that Beauty platinum transfer 100%
Danny boy is a great animator, he knew how to set the Mood and put us at ease We had a great excursion I highly recommend
Beautiful beaches with transparent waters, film!!! We went with the tour of the Viva hotel, very well the boat guys, the guide and very abundant food. There is a great improvement in the spaces to stay for the day (bathrooms, restaurants and pastries). Congratulations
We made the excursion to Saône Island!! All very well planned, except for a small mistake in pickup time, but without major drawbacks!! Everything else, very well organized and all the planning to make the trip enjoyable and very pleasant.
Super interesting a stunning island a super organized team and professionals I put a 100%
