It was an amazing excursion! My friends and I had the best time. Everyone working for the company was so friendly and helpful. The travel is kind of like (90 minutes) but it was so worth it! By the end you’re tired so you just sleep the whole ride back and it’s great!

Itinerary
Hotel Pick-Up Guests are picked up from their respective hotels in air-conditioned buses. Pick-up times vary depending on the hotel’s location — guests in areas such as Cap Cana or Uvero Alto will be collected earlier due to distance. During the transfer, our representative provides general information about the tour and logistics for the day.
Departure from the Meeting Point All transportation arrives at the main meeting point in Bayahibe, where you’ll board the catamaran or speedboat. Our guides will provide safety instructions and a short orientation before departure.
Sailing to the Natural Pool The journey begins with lively Caribbean music and panoramic views of the coast. You’ll make a stop at the Natural Pool, a shallow sandbank in the middle of the sea, famous for its crystal-clear waters and starfish. Here, you can swim, take photos, or simply relax with a drink before continuing to Saona Island.
Arrival at Saona Island Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with tropical music and guided to their area of stay. You’ll have several hours to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, beach games, or exploring the island’s natural surroundings. Buffet Lunch on the Beach A delicious Dominican-style buffet lunch is served right on the beach, including chicken, pork, fish, rice, pasta, salads, and seasonal fruits. Soft drinks and water are included. Free Time on the Island Enjoy more time to relax, take photos, or stroll along the beach.
• After enjoying Saona Island, you will return to Bayahibe and re-board the bus to head back to the meeting point. • Transportation will return guests to their original hotel or designated drop-off point. • Drop-off times are approximate and may vary depending on traffic and return logistics. • Please ensure you collect all personal belongings before leaving the bus.

The experience was mostly COMMUTE! I got picked up at 6:40, had a 3 hour bus ride to the port (could be shorter but there were a lot of pickups along the way), then a 1.5 hour boat ride (you take pics and dance which was fun) to the natural pool which was BEAUTIFUL but it was mostly for pics. You have 30m to swim around in while the photographer takes pics. Then 30m more min boat ride for the Saona Island for some lunch that was not actually good (I am Dominican, so I KNOW good Dominican food). We started having lunch at 1:35 and had to leave at 3:30… so eating and swimming for 2 hours. Then a 1.5 hour boat ride and then another 3 hour bus ride. We left the island at 3:40ish in a speed boat, got to the port at 5 and didn’t get to our resort until 7:40pm. All of the commute was not worth the 2.5 hours of enjoyment if you can even call that enjoyable for my husband and I. Our resort food at excellence was good and our beach here BEAUTIFUL, we should have picked a different excursion or stayed back. But at least now we have this knowledge. This experience may have been slightly funner with a bigger group perhaps. Also they take professional pictures of you and then you have to pay them to airdrop it. He started at 150, we brought it down to 115ish. To me it was worth the price bc my husband and I need more pictures together but just so you know. They will put a Dominican cap on you in the catamaran … let you wear it for 5 min then come back and ask for 5 each. We gave it back and said no. Also on the lunch if you want pina colada not soda it will be $10 extra. Lots of extra charges.
We visited the Saona Island yesterday and overall it turned out to be a very good experience, even though it wasn’t exactly what we expected. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to swim with the sea stars as planned, but we still saw many of them clearly from the boat, which was beautiful in its own way. Saona Island itself is truly stunning, with tall palm trees, soft white sand and the incredible turquoise color of the Caribbean Sea 🌊 The scenery alone makes the trip completely worth it and despite a few small disappointments, I’m glad we went and enjoyed the day 🏝️😎
The Island and natural park are beautiful BUT, the tour companies are BAD. Terrible logistic, large amount of people, too may boats to enjoy the view, open bar is just rum with Coke or Sprite. You arrive at Bajahibe and you have to wait for a small boat to taxi you to a large boat. 40 Minutes wait to get off the boat at the end of the day. Photos are a rip off....$100 for a package of photos. Vendors at Saona beach botherring your to make a purchase. It was a waste of a day and cash. Everyone wants a tip...the boat captiain, the tour guide, and the bus driver. I understand that this is how they make a living but please stop asking for cash for a while and let the peopel enjoy the day. The food was not bad but, not aout of this world. Do your research before booking a tour for Saona island and ask alot of questions regarding the size of the group you will be with. I would like to give it a minus 1 star if I could.
The trip was very confusing. There was little English translation and confussion. People were sent to the wrong boat causing major confusion and the uneasy feeling of being left. Then at the end the tour guide wanted a tip!! Wouldn't recommend this trip with Indiana Jones!!
This is a very long day, with as much time spent getting there, as on the excursion. The pickup point was not my resort, but with a quick message through WhatsApp, I was able to have our pickup rearranged. Michael was right on time. After being collected from our resorts on a smaller bus, we transferred to a larger bus at a central meeting point. It's a long time with no bathroom breaks, until you reach a souvenir market for a 20 minute stop. After that its another hour to Bayahibe to get on the speed boat. Persons who are unsteady on their feet will have difficulty boarding the speed boat from the water as waves are pushing and pulling. To get to the catamaran you must also be capable of crossing from the speed boat to the catamaran in the ocean. At times this was quite difficult due to waves Our time at the Natural pool was not as expected. It was more of a sandbar, not far from shore. There were no starfish there, but as we boated away, we saw several below us. The island was beautiful but crowded. The food was okay and drinks nothing special. Some people had a good time dancing on the catamaran trip back, while others just took in the views. On the way back, too much time was spent transferring passengers to other busses, based on where their resorts were. We were gone from 7am to 7pm. I would have enjoyed it more if I was staying at a resort in Bayahibe and not Punta Cana. Our driver and guide Mama Geris were both excellent.
There were so many things that went poorly. 1. We set the pick up for our hotel, they went to a different hotel and picked us up late. 2. You take a bus to get on another bus to get on a boat to literally get on another boat. 3. The excursion was oversold. Everyone was packed to the brim in every vehicle. 4. We got to the island and they promised a buffet. They ran out of food before we could get thru the line. People were literally fighting over plates and utensils. 5. By the time we got to the island we only had 2 hours to relax before getting on the 2 boats and 2 busses back. 6. The island had People walking around trying to sell you things (also they make a pit stop at a souvenir shop so you can spend more money and have less beach time) and they are persistent and don't leave you alone. The massage therapists kept touching us even after we told them NO. 7. It says all inclusive but the only option was rum and coke. This trip was definitely not what they advertised.
Our experience at Saona Island was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Everything was exceptionally well organized, punctual transportation, friendly staff, and an amazing atmosphere throughout the day. The island itself is pure paradise: crystal-clear water, white sand, palm trees, and a peaceful vibe that makes you disconnect instantly. We had plenty of time to relax, enjoy the beach, and the lunch provided was delicious. The team was always attentive and made sure everything went smoothly. Every stop was better than the last, and the whole excursion truly felt like a VIP experience. There were no issues at all *everything was flawless. Without a doubt, this is one of the best excursions I’ve ever done. I 100% recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Caribbean experience. I would go back in a heartbeat!
I would not recommend this trip at all. Transportation is terrible and long. It took us 3 hours, each way to get there. You switch buses, the buses are old. Everyone on the tour, from on the bus to the boat, want tips. They stand over you until you tip them. It states it is an 8 hour tour, but our trip was over 12 hours.
Granted it is a Spanish country but the guide spoke mostly Spanish and didn’t translate so we were lost on instructions a good portion of the time
Wonderful experience, little hiccups but managed well at the end. whole team was excellent, would recommend highly
Can be very challenging if you have any physical challenges, you have to go from one boat to another boat. We had to do this twice going and three times coming back plus the shuttle bus left five minutes before the scheduled time we had to get off of the bus because our husbands were not with us and take a taxi on top of that he was very rude very unorganized once we got to where we get on the boat to go overto the island our friends who were on the original transportation did not even get a chance to stop at the nature pool. We did get a chance to do that and it was very nice once we were at the island. It too was nice so it basically was the transportationComing back the boat we were on couldn’t make it all the way in so we had to transfer to another boat and again it was very physically challenging, especially if you are a senior.
This excursion is listed as an 8 hour trip but in reality it lasted 13 hours! And only 2 of those hours was actually spent on the island. The rest of the time was spent traveling and switching modes of transportation...van to bus, boat to catamaran. And waiting in line to board transportation. The open bar was Pepsi, 7-Up and rum or water. The buffet lunch was sub-par. Most of the day was designed as photo ops so the photographers with the crew could take pictures which they then wanted to sell you. The island was beautiful, but for the price and the amount of time we actually got to relax on the beach it was not worth it.
The driver was late. We got stuck on the boat for most of the trip and were barely on the island due to no smaller boats being available to come get us. The boat drivers drank more alcohol than the passengers which is extremely unprofessional since there were children on the boat. The food on the island had bugs in it and their idea of “open bar” was a rum and coke without other options unless you paid for it. I would not recommend this trip to anyone.
Everything was good. The transport wasn’t too long, they call you in advance to let you know about any changes. The other guests are friendly, if you can’t speak Spanish they can assist you and they always take care of you. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that they will force you to give tips
So what was supposed to be an 8 hour excursion turned into a 13 hour drag by the obvious stops at gift shops (tourist traps) and changing of transports. This is a budget experience with sub par transport, poor sound system and crew co mingling and partying with their friends. Cheap liquor and plastic cups… food was acceptable. Got the sense that we got palmed off onto this cruise as we probably the only ones that were booked for that specific cruise/boat.
The view was definitely amazing but the experience with this company was horrible!! To start off we were supposed to get picked up at the hotel and then they were supposed to take us to a big bus to join another group. When we arrived to the gas station where we had to go on the other bus, the bus was not there. We got off the van and waiting like 3 minutes until the driver decided to call and then he was told to pick up another group at a different location. We got to the other group and picked up the people. Not a call was received to notify us the change. ended up leaving in a tiny bus with another group of 11 people. After driving for like 25 minutes I asked the driver where we were going and he said oh I’m taking you to catch the boat. When getting dropped off we were lost for like 45 minutes until someone finally said they were our tour guide. The communication was HORRIBLE! While being on the boat they asked to take a picture of us because our tour agency never communicated with the hotel. On our way to the island everything went well. We were supposed to have open bar and food. When getting to the food that opened at 1:00pm there was a huge line of over 50 people. We made it to get served by 1:35 and all the food was gone! A few groups stayed without food! The “open bar” was open but the boat attendants decided to bring the bottles down to the water and instead of serving everyone in cups they were serving it straight to the people’s mouths by a short distance. The crew was drinking themselves. They were drinking alcohol while driving a group of over 50 passengers.Everyone on the boat got soaked as if it was raining because the captain was driving horribly! Then to top it off the pictures taken on the boat were to be purchased. I gave the photographer the cash but since I didn’t have change and needed change i gave him 150 and he was supposed to give me 75 in change. He disappeared and my money was gone! This was an awful experience and don’t want anyone else going through what I went through.
Everything was fine until we arrived at the port to be picked up by the boat. They promise you a catamaran which is not true. You go on a small boat that is overcrowded and you can barely move. The leader of our team was a woman, who was extremely rude every time she was asked a question. I was embarrassed to take off my clothes to stay in my swimsuit, since the same employees who were inside the boat harassed you with their gaze and made unnecessary comments. In this application it assures you that food and drinks such as water, beers and rum are included. Not everything is included since the only alcohol they had was rum and they wanted to sell the beers to you. I asked the leader of our group about the beers since they were included in the package and she very rudely answered that she couldn't do anything for me. The food was terrible and in addition to that they gave us the food at 2pm after having started the tour at 8am. They didn't give us any snacks or anything.
This was the worst most unorganized excursion I have ever been on. It was supposed to be an 8-9 hour total day. Ended up 13 1/2 and 3 1/2 of it was them moving bodies from van to van, we even stopped once we finally got on the road and they moved more people. They fed us one time in that period. Open bar was warm coke and rum or sprite only. They refused to let us get off the bus and Uber back. I e even charged by Uber for missi G them because they refused to let us off…. Boarder line kidnapping!! I’m not a review writer but they ruined our 1 of only 4 day vacation! Beware of this company!!! Terrible!!!
This was a beautiful experience. My only issue is they took pictures of us told me one price and then when I payed they charged me extra. I told them since you want to charge me extra that’s your tip. Then come to found out another family had more pictures then what we had and they charged them less.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Definitely go visit Saona island but if you are able to book a trip where they have a speed boat that goes both ways and skipping the catamaran I do recommend you do it. We spent most of our day transferring from car to bus to boat to another boat.
Bring a towel! I was surprised that neither the excursion description nor any reviews mentioned this. Open bar was some 2L soda bottles and rum. The swimming and beach was beautiful. All in all, it was fun, just very bare bones. As with all excursions I guess, there also were many requests from people selling stuff - pictures, Knick knacks, massages. Way too much, and really impacts ability to relax when people are constantly coming up to you to give them money.
A perfect escape: I sailed by catamaran to Saona Island, where I fell in love with its white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. The buffet lunch was delicious and the open bar kept me hydrated all day. A dream come true! Recommendation: Bring snorkel to see the colorful fish!
Transfer to and from Saona Island was unorganized. I felt like a herd of animals just jumping from one van to another then they didn’t know what boat to take us on. The island is gorgeous though! The water was beautiful and perfect! I had a great time! On the way back again it was unorganized hoping from one boat to another in the middle of the ocean then another before we hit shore which that boat was low on gas. It was a hot mess!
Enjoyed every minute of it Transportation could have been better But overall it is highly recommended Great island and awesome people on catamaran Well organised and explained Food and drinks were provided with lovely music Star fish was difficult to capture but we had lots of fun
The best day of my life accompanied by my family on Saona Island, we left from Punta Cana, lunch was delicious and there was an open bar to enjoy the drinks, I really want to return soon.
The way it takes you from a beautiful place to an even more beautiful place is impressive. We have enjoyed everything and every moment to the fullest. Soon we will return with more friends...
I have spent one of my best days of my life accompanied by my children on Saona Island, we left from Punta Cana and best of all, the lunch was delicious and to continue the enjoyment there was an open bar to enjoy the drinks for my children. They loved them, they even danced, the truth is that I will plan to return on vacation.
Saona Island is the perfect place to unwind. During the excursion, I enjoyed the sea breeze, the sun and the tranquility. Lunch on the beach was a delight. Without a doubt, I will return to this Caribbean paradise
I went with my family, and the truth is that both I and my family were very satisfied with that wonderful experience.....
I really like the place, I enjoyed every moment with friends, good view, good atmosphere, excellent service, good drinks, 100% recommended.
Beautiful day trip with beautiful landscapes, the sea of sand so beautiful, everything, divine lunches, I really loved it.
That trip was exceptional. I loved the attention, the gastronomy, the beaches, which were really beautiful, and the games we played as a family, we had a lot of fun with the beautiful landscapes.
I had a good family experience, enjoyed the beaches, beautiful views and above all good drinks. I recommend this place, it is beautiful and a good pastime.
live the best experience in the world when visiting these beautiful beaches, this tour has the best service, I certify it
The best experience is excellent enjoyment of the atmosphere and everyone enjoying an excellent view and the food. delicious
THE RECEPTIVITY WAS UNICO AME DIVERTI FROM MINUTE ONE; ALL THE EXPERIENCES ARE STILL IN MY THOUGHTS AND I SHARE WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED SO THAT SOMEONE ELSE CAN DO IT
The island itself is beautiful. Getting there is a different story. Transportation is very disorganized. Lot of time wasted just waiting for transportation.
The transportation was comfy and the transfer to boat was on time. The stop before Saona Island was the best experience ever . I wish we could have stayed longer there. It is called the natural pool . I really loved the experience. The communication with the company was great. They answered all my questions about the tour trip. Flor and Jeffrey were good tour guides.
The catamaran staff were friendly and helpful. They made us feel comfortable and assured us that we enjoyed the fullest of our day on Saona Island. Thanks for an unforgettable experience! I plan to return with my partner again.
It was incredible, it was great to have our own private boat, we could dance, play, swim and generally have fun in our own way, we could drink whatever we wanted and it was a day of total enjoyment
Bravo, everything was great, it was incredibly fun, can only recommend it. P.S. I had to write this.
I am a person with reduced mobility; the tour guides arrived to pick me up at the agreed time, but the driver preferred to leave the location and did not help me get onto the transport, which I could not board in time because the man parked the car on a flooded street. Therefore, I had to wait for my son to help me get on, and no matter how much I asked the driver to wait, he preferred to leave and sent me a message to reschedule the tour. I had to pay for private transport to catch up with the tour. I found it to be a very rude act because the wait was 7 minutes. I do not recommend it for people with mobility difficulties. After the inconvenience, I was able to catch up with the tour, which was in line with its value, and I did it because I could not reschedule.
It was a sensational experience they serve one very well, they give one the drink without any restrictions.
Bad experience in many ways, punctuality, terrible organization, lack of services, I get a very bad experience.
We booked this excursion through Check24. Unfortunately, they were extremely disappointed. It was the worst trip ever. I have been on DomRep 8 times and wanted to show my newly engaged wife who is here for the first time the beautiful island of Saona and that went wrong from the beginning!!! What was positive was the pickup from the hotel to the port of Bayahibe worked well. The negative points. 1. the excursion was postponed from 6:30am to 9:30am 1 day before the start. At a time when you can't cancel them anymore. 2. after we were picked up at 9:30 we had to wait at the port for over half an hour in the blazing sun, as neither anyone from the organizer was there nor anyone felt responsible for us. After about 45 minutes waiting we were then simply pushed to some troop of drunk tourists. 3. we had booked a German-speaking tour and also paid for it. In the end, we didn't have a tour guide or anything like that just to vomit. 4. in the display and description is explicitly written catamaran ride. To Saona it was a speedboat, back a catamaran Similar boat that sailed only with engines and also has no sail or similar. Instead of wind noise and recreation, there was engine noise and rip-off! 5. of the stated 3 hours on Saona we were there about 2:15 hours. 6. Saona is not what it was. It's just mass tourism with juice companies. It is not suitable for families nor does it have anything of recreation! The whole trip was the last and I hope no one falls for it. The whole thing was also reported to Check24 and if there is no solution there I will have the payment called back by the Amex Platinum Service. It's a cheekiness!!! Unfortunately, you cannot give 0 stars. Photos of everything are naturally available and have been forwarded.
Negatives: The transfer was pretty bad. Insufficient air conditioning, dirt. We stopped at a meeting point (it looks like a “vacationer pickup” to go into a store and shop) and we stayed there for a long time (I believe someone was late). We reached the point to pick up the ferry and found it extremely disorganized. On the turn, 3 people had stayed behind (the driver did not tell the people before we left and did not point the point backwards). Again we stopped at the same meeting point and asked to change transfer to facilitate the distribution of the people in the hotels. We waited a long time, really, but the transfer was much better!!! We noticed a difference between the first transfer (with Spanish Guide) and the second (English Guide). I don't know why, but the same company can offer different vans. Positive points: The island is beautiful!! The lunch there was delicious. We went from caramaran (which is not quite a caramaran) and we came back by boat. The crew on the boat was mto legal.
