The first beach at Saona island was amazing and the pina coladas were delicious. We were disappointed a little because they told us we were going to some spectacular pools, and then never went. Also, my wife and I were the only two people that spoke English in the entire group of 30. Not ideal.

Had so much fun on our Saona island tour. So much to do and so much to see. Me and my Girlfriend went and we had lots of fun during the boat trip, landing on the island, and relaxing on the beaches. We enjoyed tasty Dominican cuisine with some delicious piña colada and refreshing coconut water. 10/10, the best activity to book!
I had a really fun time on this tour. I went with my cousin and he was able to meet me for this one, which made it even better. Everything about the experience was amazing. The beaches we visited were absolutely beautiful and the water was perfect for swimming and taking photos. The boat ride itself was basically a party. Everyone was dancing, the music was great, and the drinks were really good. The staff made sure everyone was having a good time and everything was organized really well. The food was also amazing and it was nice being able to relax, eat, and enjoy the views. I got to see so many beautiful places and had such a fun day overall. Every time I book with Xcape Tours they really go all out and I always end up having a great experience. They never fail to impress me. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Punta Cana because it’s truly an experience you won’t get anywhere else.
Absolutely beautiful place, but the tour wasn't inclusive enough for English speaking travellers. We were very much unsure on what was happening for most of the day as the guide spoke to the group in fluent Spanish for the whole of the tour and we had a second tour guide that gave very little information to us in English. He was very quietly spoken and with the noise of the boat, it was really hard to hear him most of the time. Fortunately we met another English family on the tour and were able to stick with them, otherwise we would have felt completely out of it. Such a beautiful place to visit, it really is stunning, it's just a shame that we were made to feel not a part of the group.
From the moment we were picked up, we knew it was going to be a special day. Our driver was brilliant, singing along to UB40, Whitney Houston, Akon and loads of American classics. He didn’t speak English but we had such a laugh with him anyway. Great energy from the start. We started at the Chavón River, where parts of Anaconda and Rambo were filmed. It was absolutely stunning, peaceful and full of jungle vibes. Then we jumped on a speedboat and it was actually fast, like properly flying across the water. The sea was so blue it didn’t even look real and the white sand beaches flying past just made it feel like a dream. The group was mainly Spanish-speaking so Catherine did the main tour in Spanish and we had Miguel looking after us. He was amazing, made sure we were included the whole time, explained everything and made us feel like part of it. Before the natural pool we passed a harbour where Shakira apparently has a house. The yachts were massive. Definitely a “how the other half live” moment. Then we stopped at the natural pool inside Cotubanamá National Park. It was crystal clear and warm, and we ended up having a dance party right there in the sea, music playing, rum and coke flowing. It was one of those pure joy moments. A photographer called Camilo (I think?) took some incredible pics of us there and later on the island. You do pay for them but honestly worth every penny. After that we sped through a patch of cloudier water and saw loads of starfish. The water wasn’t as clear there but you could still see them resting on the sand below. It was quiet and peaceful. At most of the stops you can buy a piña colada served in a pineapple for 10 dollars if you want one. They looked amazing, we didn’t get one but kind of wish we had. Saona Island itself is just stunning. The bluest sea, soft sand, palm trees swaying, the full postcard. We had a BBQ and buffet lunch which was fresh and tasty. The open bar continued with beer, rum, soft drinks and water. Some local girls did traditional dances which was lovely to watch and added to the atmosphere. We then headed to Mano Juan which was colourful and calm. We didn’t go inside any houses but walked past them and a tiny police station. The best bit was meeting a man who runs a sea turtle sanctuary. Really special to see and learn about. There were a few places to buy souvenirs, but most prices were in dollars. We had pesos and they did accept them but dollars are easier. At the final stop we were offered the chance to snorkel but just decided to chill. We floated in the sea with more rum and coke and soaked it all in. They served us the sweetest pineapple I’ve ever tasted and a passion fruit drink that was unreal. We had a proper laugh here, took a group photo and it felt like the perfect end to the day. Then it was one last blast on the speedboat and our driver was there waiting, still singing away, mixing UB40 with Whitney and Akon. Loved him. The whole day had everything—adventure, stunning views, culture, great food, music, drinks and genuinely kind, fun people. If you’re in the Dominican Republic you have to go. Don’t even think about it. Just book it. Absolutely 10/10. One of the best days of our lives.
We were the only English couple on this tour but that didn't stop us having a great time as the crew all made us feel so welcome and translated everything for us as we don't speak Spanish. Stopped off at some amazing places on the way to the island. It really was a great atmosphere on the boat even though we had no clue what was going on as all the music etc was in Spanish but they certainly know how to party!. I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone who has mobility issues as getting onto the boat at the river is down some very rocky steps which were very slippery. Excellent value for money.
it was a well organized trip. Everyone was very helpful and created a lively atmosphere. The sea was a little rough and I would not recommend this trip for anyone with back problems as the entire trip is conducted on a speed boat.
overall a great experience, expect bumps along the way as the entire trip is on a speed boat with no catamaran. If you have neck or back problems I would choose another trip.
An early start with an approx 1.5 hour transfer from Punta Cana. There's a short walk from mini bus drop off on an unmade path to our boat on the River Chavón. As we travelled down the river, we saw various wildlife, villas and a church where Michael Jackson married high on the top of the river bank. At the end of the river we entered Casa de Campo Marina to marvel at some very impressive super yachts and on the opposite side just as impressive villas owned by super stars and CEOs of large organisations. From here, we powered on full blast to the natural sand bank in the Carribean Sea. A waist high area where we enjoyed local rum and coke (or cerveza) music and dancing led by our hosts. Many people from other tours joined our party scene and were envious of ours. Next on to Isla Saona. A short walk from boat to our dedicated area for food and more drinks. Plenty to eat and drink. After eating we had approximately 1 hour to relax and enjoy the white sands and crystal clear Carribean Sea. Would have been nice to have had slightly longer stay. Our final stop of the tour was to a turtle sanctuary on Saona, where we saw how the locals cared for the eggs and the new hatchlings. We powered back to Bayahibe a fishing town which took 50 mins or so and said goodbye to our hosts before rejoining our transport back to our hotel. Great day out with great hosts highly recommend very good value for money.
My wife and I had a wonderful excursion! Our point of contact for this trip was Robert and he was very informative and professional. We did the share tour, and it was amazing. The staff was wonderful the day was full of activities. The tour begun on the Chavón River where the tour guide explained to us some of the wonderful movies like Rambo that was filmed there. Then we made it to the Caribbean Sea to start the day. We stopped at the natural pool which was breathtaking! We participated in dancing and had an amazing pineapple drink. The day continue to Saona island which was amazing. We were served very tasty lunch with an upscale setting! The open bar at Saona island was great and the beach was great. We visited a private island after the Saona experience, and this was great. Small town and the tour guide explained everything about the small island. Overall, this experience was amazing, and I have been referring all my friends to do this specific activity. It’s a full day so make sure you are energized!
This excursion was absolutely amazing. The staff were great! Every single stop was informative and very well thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this to all that travel to Punta Cana.
Our private trip was awesome. The pickup from our resort's lobby was on time and the ride comfortable. The boat ride was great all the way to the Island. The staff were very helpful and took care of everyone.
We had such a great time. The beauty of this place is amazing, and the guys on the boat worked so hard to make sure we were taken care of.
It was and amazing trip. I enjoyed a lot the experience!!! The staff handled the tour very professionally and I didn't have to worry about anything while I was enjoying the trip to Saona Island and the Chavon River. The food was excellent, I really enjoyed this experience.
It was a great experience, I was looking for an excursion that could be kids friendly for my sons, we had a great day, lunch was impecable and delicious, open bar was the highlight , but the best was how we were able to enjoy the virgin beach, very recommended.
We had so much fun on this tour, the crew was very fun and made the experience top notch, we went to an amazing river, saw the famoso houses of the casa the campo marina, had drinks in pineapple and saw the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen. Perfect way to end our triple in the DR.
I had the best time on this excursion visiting Saona Island, the water was crystal clear, the crew kept us entertained like we were in a resort, I recommend booking the private option despite the extra cost because we had our own guide and boat
The experience was amazing!!! Definitely an experience that i would do again with my friends and ofc my family!!! 10/10
I made the decision to book this expedition since my family want a private vacation. We had heard a lot about his island, and we dreamed of having the most memorable experience of our lives... and everything turned out amazing The staff was really friendly and accommodating. The adults had the finest time by themselves at the open bar, while the children spent the entire day enjoying the crystal blue waters. It was a dream come true for me to visit this island, and I am so happy that we were able to book the greatest tour with the most kind staff.
This a private beach island with anything you can dream of.... sun, white sand beaches, and the best of all privacy. The natural pool water is a must, and the town is just too good to pass up. I totally recommend this trip to feel one with nature and spend some really good family quality time.
Saona Island Tour is a must do on your trip to the Dominican Republic! The scenery of the Chavon River was amazing, the tour guides were very professional and friendly. Definitely recommend A+
Just got back from the Saona Island tour, and it was awesome! The guides were super friendly and knew all the best spots. They made sure everyone had a blast and learned a lot too. Totally recommend it if you’re looking for a fun day with a bit of everything.
Our family getaway was much needed. We were able to unplug and make fantasic memories on the tour. The beach was beautiful!
After my cousins wedding we took an awesome trip, the views, the drinks, the people. Just couldn't say enough about how much we had, just make that you spend an extra day than you originally intended as you will be missing this amazing place once you're back home.
Wow, what a blast! This Island and Chavon river tour was off the charts! We cruised down the Chavon river, soaking in the chill vibes, then landed on this amazing island for lunch. And let me tell you, the food was incredible! Plus, they had an open bar serving up all sorts of drinks. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. This tour gets five stars from me, no doubt!
We love this trip. The views on Saona Island are amazing, and have one of the most beautiful beach. Comfortable bus and an excellent service! Definitely we recomend it!
The beauty of Saona Island is impressive. It was my first time visiting Saona Island and I was shocked by the nature, the beauty of the beach, the sand is white. This tour was excellent. Jojo's entertainment in the water really made a difference. He was always making sure that we had a good time so that the older people could enjoy it just like the others. He was always attentive to the entire group. The entrance to the Chabón River was a great experience and so were the views of the marina. We really enjoyed this tour, the facilities and amenities were very good for the trip.
My husband and I had a blast today in this tour, we went to the best beach we’ve ever seen. The Chavon River and the marina visit were a great addition. We will definitely come back to Saona again soon!
Excellent tour to see other beaches besides Saona
This tour is very complete because it has the l navigated by the Chavon River that is worth it. The boat staff is very friendly and very cheerful with lots of Caribbean atmosphere. Miguel the guide was very helpful siwmpre. The beaches of Samoa are beautiful and the food was good.
Very good excursion! Well organized with different places than other itineraries of other companies, especially beach singing being a spectacular place. It would only allow more time on the latter beach and slightly less on the rest of the much more crowded stops. Good response from the company, after an information error on the web, made the corresponding adjustment to the cost, without problems
We visited Saona Island with some family and we had a great time, they gave us a piña colada in a piña, open bar and lunch. The best of all was going with our group, we booked the small group option and it was just us. The water on the beaches is crystal clear and we visited several. What an earthly paradise.
This island has the most beautiful beaches in the entire Dominican Republic, we reserve the private touch and it is worth doing the tour only with your companions. The guides are very friendly and made us all dance.
The tour to Sáona Island was impressive due to the beauty of its beaches and the kindness of the guides. We really liked seeing the Casa de Campo marina and sailing down the Chsavon River, the food was very good too. Highly recommended
