Transparency is lacking! The communication and the driver who picked us up were excellent, and we have no complaints about that part of the experience. However, the actual excursion was extremely disappointing. We booked this experience on GetYourGuide for two people for £51. When we arrived, we were told that the price only included an ATV and that if we wanted a buggy, it would cost an additional US$50. Goggles/glasses were another US$15, and a bandana was also an additional cost. Given the amount of dust, eye protection was effectively necessary. The buggy we were given was in very poor condition. The steering was extremely heavy, the brakes did not work properly, and eventually the buggy broke down completely. We had to be given another buggy, which was initially being driven by one of the staff members, but unfortunately this one also appeared to be in poor condition and did not feel fit for purpose. We were then taken to a beach where the food was extremely expensive. The fish or chicken option was US$30, with sides costing an additional US$10. Overall, we felt that there were significant additional costs throughout the experience that were not made clear when we booked. The company should clearly state at the time of booking that buggies are not included in the advertised price, along with the exact additional costs for goggles/glasses, bandanas and any other compulsory items. In our opinion, safety equipment such as helmets and appropriate eye protection should be provided as part of the experience rather than being treated as optional extras. We have done a similar off-road excursion in Cyprus where the price included the vehicle, safety equipment and a meal, so we were very surprised by how many additional charges there were here. Unfortunately, we left the experience feeling that the pricing and inclusions had not been made sufficiently clear from the beginning. We genuinely felt scammed and very disappointed with the overall experience

We had a terrible experience. It started with a late pick up. We upgraded for our buggy for an additional $65 to a premium buggy. They forgot about us and left us and another couple that had also upgraded behind, then our buggy's steering went out right outside their gates. They got us a second buggy. Then once at the cave our second buggy wouldn't start. The guide tried to start it and it wouldn't start for him either. He walked away and my husband pulled the key out and it broke in the ignition. The tour left us behind. Then another guy informed us we would be charged for the key. We end up in the back of this new guys buggy and he brings us to the beach. Once we leave the beach we are told to take that buggy that the new guy drove us in. Not far away from the beach we are waved down and told to switch buggies. After 4 buggies we were forgotten, left behind, told we are responsible for their buggy not being in good repair and the entire excursion was ruined. I would not recommend this company.
Joseph was so nice and helpful in this experience
Camelot was the best energy to lead us through the trip.
Great ride experience, good high quality photos taken, nice stops and overall fun experience.
Fantastic adventure. Excellent staff. Awesome tour guides. Food at the roadside stand great. Tour guides Coca cola, Jose, Black, Canalo.
Loved it! Great people, photos, fun ride, cave and beach. If I went again I would do VIP just to have even more time. I loved the buggies and glad we didn’t choose atv. I only wish there was even more mud! :)
Amazan was an amazing tour guide and we had such an amazing experience! Will recommend this tour to everyone! Great experience!!
Awesome experience I would luv to do it again in the near future. The ride was messy and dirty but overall fun thing to do. I recommend this trip to everyone.
My first time was amazing. Had so much fun. Thanks Sammy. Already making plans to come back. Exciting/relaxing adventure.
Thr trip was vry good.the guide was awesime the cace eas very cool and thr buggys very fast i liked tr trip was it my frirfsb
Overall it was a great experience! The tour guides were very personable and funny. The only real hang up is the aggressiveness of the vendors. Soon as you get to the cave and beach aspect of the tour, they swarm you to purchase items which dampens the experience when you’re trying to have a great time!
I had a wonderful time although I hesitated at the beginning but the experience was worth it and I intend to come back, my friends were guided by Almeida she received us and was quite hospitable, and I am still satisfied...
The tour guides were amazing! I love Cesar he is the best! So ask for him. Overall the whole team was amazing. Not much to really say, you just have to experience for yourself.
The experience was amazing and it was my second time. The stops were well thought out and had showed the Dominican Republic experience.
Best experience from the whole vacation. Photos were amazing, best photographer in the world. WE took a drive on the streets, got to see many beautiful things
The tour stared with me being told the buggy I booked was not the same as I was shown when booking and I had to upgrade for $60!!! Then the seatbelt did not fork for my girlfriend and they swapped me back to an old buggy (not the one I paid $60 for!! Then we set off drove for about 5 mins and stopped at some classroom type thing where we got a sales pitch on coffee and gifts. After 20mins there we set off to the “caves” we drove another 10mins at walking pace and arrived at a place with more shops and a bar where again everyone wanted to sell you something! The actual cave itself is very small and when down there there are lots of locals all asking to take photos of you for a fee!! After 15 mins here we set off for the beach, 10 mins drive later we were there, it was about a 10min walk from where you park to get to the beach and again it’s full of people pushing stuff on you and feels very tacky! After about 30 mins here we went back. We spent about 30mins in total driving and all was very slow and not fun at all, To top it all off we paid $40 for photos that we have never received!!! *****ALL TOURISTS SHOULD AVOID AT ALL COSTS******
The experience was amazing! The photographer took the most impressive pictures and captured all the views and moments. The guide was excelent and offered us an amazing experience for all the day! Definetly recommend!
The trip was great. We opted for the private tour on arrival which was an additional $50 for us both. This meant we didn’t have to wait for anyone and could do the tour on our own time frame which we found was best for us. Our guide was Amazan he was amazing, very friendly and funny. We have chosen 4/5 stars because we was hoping the time driving would be longer and we found the prices at both the first stop (coffee and cigar shop) and the beach very very expensive. We paid $60 for 2 bracelets at the first stop and $55 for 3 drinks at the beach. We would recommend on agreeing prices before purchasing but otherwise we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend. Bring cash, big sunglasses or goggles and a scarf or bandana with you - this avoids having to purchase on arrival.
Very good experience, was hoping there was more driving and longer tour. The prices at the first stop and the beaches were very expensive and was only told the prices when we was ready to pay. I feel the prices for the actual experience was good however the prices to buy things along the way was very expensive, I believe due to us being tourists, we was taken advantage of. The buggy experience however very good, and a very good tour guide Amazan.
Nice buggey ride its bumpy but really funnand the cave is really nice and fun . If youbhave a chance go get that buggey ride
Nice experience but be aware most of the stops are at places where you will be hounded to buy stuff or give children as well as adult beggars money are guide was lovely but at the end where about to tip him but he was off some where else another guide who was a bit of a tourist poacher ie upseller said they split the tips ( they don’t ) we ended up giving it a tip to are three guides to Carlos who said they would split ten dollars each we found our guide as we where leaving and we told him Carlos has been giving 30 dollars ten for him and ten each for the other two he came back telling us Carlos is not sharing we felt terrible but we had no cash on us after we tipped so if “carlos” if that is your name shame on you are guide was lovely an kept are metal water bottle safe when we left it by accident in the buggy in
Excelente service, great experience, friendly host, very attentive to us, we'll repeat this tour in another time for sure!
Very disorganised. The driver decided he didn't want to take a bunch of us home and told us another shuttle would be taking us. He did this because he wanted to have a shorter shift! Thankfully, my husband is Venezuelan and could understand what they were saying. Turns out, the driver WAS supposed to take us and he just decided not to. They had to call the driver to turn around and come collect the rest of us. When we were finally driving back, the driver then didn't know where he was going! It took us 2 and a half hours to get back to our resort! He stopped every 5 mins to ask someone for directions. It also made us very nervous driving around the place as tourists. NOT FUN! Complete waste of our time and go no apology or compensation for it.
Highly recommended, I recommend taking the private tour so you will have time to see everything. 10/10 Juan Carlos is one of the best instructors. It is also worth paying for the photo package.
I was expecting more from the company. They told meet at 11:30 because supposed to leave at 1200 but we left at 12:30 also another people was there waiting since 11:00. The personnel wasn’t organized at all and unfriendly. The buggy was in bad shape and they didn’t explain anything. In the first stop we was there for 30 minutes in the store. In the next stop the cave they were rushing us and gave us 10 minutes. The last stop was the bed the beach Macao and they only gave us 15 minutes. They should take us around and go straight to the beach and spend more time in the beach This mean everything was rushing and set for people to buy things in store. I recommend to shop around with another company.
Good all round trip the guts were very friendly and took us to see all stuff around dr, only one had issue which the buggy kept stopping but they quickly came to fix and change new for us which didn’t have any issues:) highly recommend, maybe could done with letting us spend more time at each location, 8/10
The tour guides were unhelpful and very rude, one in particular didn’t want to talk to me because I was a woman so I had a random guy talk to him. The buggies were in a very poor condition which during the tour several stopped working and someone had to jumpstart them. There was a guy taking photos and basically want you to pay before seeing the photos and they will email(not even prints) them later. The driver assigned to drop us back at the hotel was just unprofessional, always on his phone and even took people to the wrong hotel because he was distracted doing everything but driving properly.
Not sure about what happens during weekdays, but, during high season weekend; don’t even bother to book this or “maybe other attractions”. Everything happened with a rolling over delay, making this 3 hour activity a full day frustrating event. Many of the off-road vehicles are not suitable for operation and breaking down recurrently adding up to the elapsed delay. “I was explained” that due to the weekend there was too many people/riders taking same routes and heading to same attractions. “Cenote” was impossible to see; “beach” became a 10 min dive and get out or you will be left behind…. We were treated like a tourist flock under pressure to be left behind……. I might attempt another activity during weekdays; but hell not ever again on a weekend.
Trip was nice. The places we visited were beautiful. The family enjoyed the experience. The service was great. Love it.
First, they took very long to pick us up at the stop at 1000. We had to call them for them arrive. Then he kept going around and around trying to find the rest in the different stops. Then we made it to the ranch until almost 12. Very disorganized, always felt rushed in all stops. Beach and Cave was only a 5 maybe 10 mins. We were supposed to leave at 12 but ended up leaving at 130pm came back at around 4pm. The group that was supposed to leave after us at 2 did not start their tour until 4 which is when we came back. So if those people had dinner reservation, they’re probably going to miss it. Only reason I gave a 2 star was because I enjoyed driving the bougies, Nelson and Amazon were really nice employees.
Super dope experience!!! The team that lead the entire experience was great!!! Would definitely recommend! We visited the local shop for fresh coffee among other home made products, and then the beach!!! The best views!!!!!! Overall 5 stars!! Groups of 5! Prepare to be dirty!!! We did the ATV so that we are higher!
My family and I did the excursion with Macao in Punta Cana. Booking the excursion and initial communication was fine. But, upon getting to the excursion, in addition to it being unorganized, there was a long wait time to begin the excursion, one of buggies broke down several times throughout the excursion. The stops during the excursion were very short and rushed and the town people were a bit aggressive to sell products. If you decide to do this excursion, plan plenty of time, and be prepared to get dirty (which was kind of fun). Not bad people, just not what we expected and we will not do this again.
This is a must tour!!! Gabriel & all his team were incredibly organized, from pick up (Even late he was in contact with me, letting me know what is going on with the schedule) to dropped off. My husband, my 5 year old & myself had a blast, an incredible day full of fun, adventures, nice & respectful people, for sure something we will treasure for a lifetime! Highly recommend this company!!! Thank you again for an amazing experience!!!
Brilliant trip! Saw some amazing Dominican culture and went to a local beach and local food and drink bar , met the nicest people
The staff really friendly and nice ! Gave clear instructions on how to operate the vehicle. The tour was a great mix of driving and sight seeing. Amazon was an amazing guide and made sure we had anything we needed! 10/10
Coca-Cola was the best made it super fun and entertaining for all party’s! Highly recommend!!! Natural pool was gorgeous nothing I’ve ever seen before! And the whitest of white sand no seaweed and clear water!
We showed up, got geared up, and found ourselves waiting. We didn't know, but Macao off-road gathers all parties together for a time slot into one very large group and you travel as a single convoy...for the most part. Buggies will fail, break down, or even snap an axle. Anyway, we finally get into a buggy and we're off! Until we stop 10 minutes in to get gathered into a sales pitch for coffee, beer, and whatever else. Every stop was a mini tourist trap if you will. I've been on two other ATV tours (one of which was also in Punta Cana). The beach stop is actually a 5 minute walk away and full of vendors trying to sell you stuff. In contrast, to the other one I've been on in PC, we rode right up to a completely secluded and breathtaking beach. I know not to expect perfect working buggies. But the mention of a snapped axle happened in our group. Our own died twice, and the backup buggy we got had no brakes. There are numerous times you would be driving and have to go around broken down buggies. The crew is cool, and they are just trying to keep things going/running. It's no reflection of them, more of how the place is set up to run. I made the best of the situation, but I wouldn't recommend this to others.
I had a fun experience! I didn’t think I would enjoy it since it was my first time, but I really had a great time! The team was very professional and helpful, making the experience even better. Highly recommended!
The rain turned our adventure into a thrilling mudding experience! Despite the excitement, the kids on the road begging were a concern and quite dangerous. JB, you are the best‼️
We wait more time than normal for start the exursion, cuz' our transportation arrive early. but they found the way for keep us happy.
the typical Dominican house was fascinating we loved the coffee and mamajuana tasting. The cenote was a beautiful surprise highly recommend
Driving the buggie was Awesome, and the visit to the typical Dominican house was fascinating. Loved the coffee and mamajuana tasting. The cenote was a beautiful surprise. Highly recommend!!!!!
Simply exceptional. 10/10 in service 10/10 on adrenaline 10/10 for fun 10/10 in buggy condition They picked us up on time and we were able to enjoy seeing the city in a comfortable safari truck. When we arrived at the ranch they gave us a machine and well. the rest is a lot of fun
A 100% satisfied with this activity, we went to beautiful places. This is one of the best activities that I did in Punta cana. We recommended <3
They picked us up on time, the staff was very friendly and our guide ''omega'' answered all our questions and taught us a lot about the Dominican culture. My wife was able to drive back as well and we liked how easy they are to drive.
I have been in many Tours in my life, but this one is Just Incredible. I would repeat it again and I would try it with horse too, cause I saw some beautiful horses in the place.
Amazing!! Super fun and it was a great experience. Would come back and do it again. Def recommended! Staff was great and informative.
Attention and service 10/10 César was kind and attentive
