Francisco was AMAZING!!! If I could give him 10 stars I would. He picked us up in a nice, clean, COLD van. He gave us the best tour! He was so knowledgeable. We learned so much about the city and culture.
This was a really fun tour! We were picked up on time in a very clean van. The places we stopped were fun and gave us a good taste of the DR. We stopped at a souvenir shop, cigar-making factory, traditional house where coffee/chocolate are made, a beach, and the basilica. The tour guide (Will, I believe) was really knowledgeable and talked the perfect amount. It did not feel like a tourist trap at any stop, though there were plenty of spots to buy stuff if you wanted to.
Good half day, the guide Annie is very Top. and driver very professionnals. Thank you very mich for the city tour.
We are very happy we chose this half day cultural tour. It was exactly what we wanted - a glimpse into the history of the Dominican Republic as well as a tour of a modern Dominican city so we could see how the people in this country actually live. We thoroughly enjoyed the day - so many of my questions about Dominican culture and experience were answered on this tour. Our tour guide Angel was EXCELLENT - he's a fabulous ambassador for his country. We enjoyed learning from him. Highly recommend this tour!
The tour was fantastic, our driver Pablo was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to show us his culture. It's a great way to spend a day learning and sightseeing. We highly recommend this tour.
This was a great adventure, my family truly enjoyed! Pablo was a fantastic tour guide!! We highly recommend!!!
this was a phenomenal tour. The guide Alvin Danilo was awesome. We had a great time. The food was so good. we started with the horse ride and i conquered my fear of riding. We then visited the church, which the campus was beautiful. I really enjoyed the house we visited, i even bought some coffee and oregano from the farm. i really really enjoyed this tour. I highly recommend it. Again the tour guide Alvin Danilo was very knowledgeable and awesome.
Joanna was very kind and knowledgeable. We had great discussions . Would recommend , my teenagers also enjoyed .
Very nice tour. Our driver was super friendly. I loveddd going to the local house and experiencing their way of live. The coffee was delicious and the cacao was refreshing.
The service was great from pick up to the drop off time! The tour guard was very cooperative, friendly and energetic. The price for a group was expensive!
We had a lovely day with Pablo, who shared so much about his country in a few short hours. He was comfortable driving through the motor bike filled streets of Higuay market and even stopped to buy sugar cane and showed how to eat it. It was a day well spent.
I really enjoyed the plantation, seeing the Dominican home, Maceo Beach was beautiful except for being charged $32.00 for a Piña colada and a margarita. Rip off.. Pablo was amazing, a wealth of knowledge, friendly and thank goodness he was driving!
It was a rare rainy day in Punta Cana so we booked this excursion. It was a really great day up to the end. Our tour guide, George, or Jeorge, offered to store all of our purchases in the front cab of the truck. When we arrived back at the resort one of our bottles was completely smashed and dripping out the bottom of the bag. Tour guide promised to replace it but after 3 days he was a no show with our merchandise. Other than that guide telling us a lie it was a lot of fun.
Our tour guide was friendly and helpful. Other than the visit to the cathedral, the tour was a repeat of things seen and experienced on other tours. Would like to have learned some trivia about Punta Cana and surrounding areas.
Have an amazing time today. Joel was a great driver and in 4 hours got to experience a lot of different regular life from DR. We went into a coffee area where we got to see common folk grow their coffee and how cocoa beans look like. The cigar shop was great as well, with great attendants. At the end it was Joel that made it great.
Pablo.....we love learning about the culture of the community we visit. Pablo gaves us not only a sense of the DR, but tried to ensure we understood the essence of the country and its people. HE WAS AMAZING!
“Yelkis”...was very polite, punctual, and very respectful the whole time with us and informative. He explained the location, the agriculture, and area in general as we travelled to our destination. He was happy to answer all our questions Would recommend to future family and friends, the bus was so clean and the best music! Another thing is he also opens the door and closed for you at all time !
We had a great time with Edwin, he was so nice from the start and let us decide if we wanted to go to each stop and how long we wanted to spend there. He spoke English very well, which was helpful to us. This tour allowed us to buy some souvenirs, visit a coffee and cacao plantation, see the smaller villages in more of a country setting and a bigger city where the citadel was located. A nice tour without any time stress on timing.
Edwin and his wife were absolutely fantastic tour guides! My parents and I wanted to do something special on our last day in Punta Cana so we booked this tour late the night before. They were excellent communicators and arranged to pick us up right outside of our Airbnb right away that morning and we’re very accommodating when we were running a few minutes late. They took us all over the city and were excellent drivers with lots of great insight and facts. The tour itself was awesome and we visited places I never thought were possible.. Edwin even tried to help us find a place to print, twice, although they were closed due to it being Sunday. The tour is just the right amount of time and it flew by fast with good music, food and company. I cannot recommend this tour and Edwin more, these are some of the nicest and most hospitable people I’ve ever met and one of the most exciting and private tours we’ve ever been on.
This excursion was well worth the money! Our guide Edwin Perez was amazing! He explained everything to us in detail. He stopped places that weren’t on the itinerary because we wanted to stop there. We had some trouble with the van he was driving and again, he took care of it. He was amazing. If you have the opportunity you really need to book this excursion.
Stayed at the Dreams Palm Beach resort the rooms were great, staff were very friendly and helpful. We did the Saona Island Excursion and the Country Safari and we got a lot of information and had lots of fun.The drivers and guide were very helpful and friendly.
We were picked up in time and the only 2 on the tour. Nothing was too much trouble for us and all at a keisuley pace. Had a very good insight to Dominican Republic visiting cocoa, coffee plantation and typical house Than went on to cathedral where guide was fantastic before going to see Macau beach. All topped off with trip to the mall. George our drive and guide as superb. Only negative the extra for drinks and snacks was not worth it.
Our tour was excellent. They picked us up right in front of the hotel on time and were very friendly. Although neither of the guides spoke English they used google translate to communicate. The only issue we had was after we finished with the cathedral we were supposed to go to a beach and they headed back to the hotel. I realized after we passed the beach signs and asked about it. They ended up turning around and taking us to the beach. I’m not sure if they forgot or just wanted to finish things up quicker. This was the perfect tour for a family with small kids or even middle size kids. It was private so they went at our pace and helped us find bathrooms when we needed them. Half day was the perfect length of time for our younger kids. I also was thrilled that it was a hands on cultural experience for them so they will remember better. Would definitely recommend.
starting of the trip was great the sight seeing and exploring the true gastronomy of the country was amazing. Henry our driver very friendly and made sure we were comfortable and safe. Our tour schedule was on time as expected. Would truly recommend them.
I will recommend it to anyone. On time very professional very friendly. If you planning to travel or tour around this is the best choice. Excellent
Everything begins with a great customer service provided Christian. He makes sure to take care of all the little details like the pick up time and in our case a baby seat. The driver was nice and proffecinal, first place we visited was the cacao and tabacco plantation. They even gave us a free hand made cigar that was made right in front of us. Then they drove us to the amazing cathedral and to the local market.very important the driver made sure that we were safe at all times. And last but not less the Macao natural beach,it is really amazing place. Great service and definitely recommend.
This was one of the best tours we've ever been on! We went to 5 different locations throughout the tour and received such a well rounded cultural background of the Dominican. Needless to say, we also had the best tour guide. Thank you Sylvester for all your insight - you made our excursion so enjoyable!
I have tried three different days to book this half day tour and every time it more than doubles this price. It has been a waste of my time and trip advisor you need to take action and cover your reputation and have this lie taken down.Shame on you for this conniving tactic or so I am assuming that you know about this or should know because they are using your name. Sincerely Discouraged Gordon/Guelph On.Ca.
My friends and i took this tour. Henry was our driver and guide and he did a wonderful job. He took his time and answered the questions we had about Dominican agriculture, economy and daily life for the average Dominican. We visited the cigar shop where we were watched a cigar being made, and we were given one to smoke. It was actually fun for someone who is not a smoker! (Try the cognac flavored one) In addition, we visited the Basilica in Higuey, which was beautiful and walked through an outdoor food market. Unfortunately, after we had returned to our hotel, we realized there was one thing advertised in the tour description that we did NOT do, and that was visit Macao Beach. Even though we did not visit the beach, I still enjoyed the tour and am glad that we had Henry as our guide.
We were picked up at our resort in a private car by Edwin, who was a great young man. He drove us to a farm where we toured the property and purchased a variety of home grown items. We then went to a tobacco factory and even rolled our own cigars! He then took us to the large city of Higuey. With few traffic laws we were so relieved he was driving and not us. In Higuey Edwin handed us off to Tito. He was a delightful local guy who showed us the cathedral and walked us around part of the downtown area. We had a meal at a nice bar/restaurant and then traveled back to Punta Cana with Edwin. What we thought was going to be a four hour tour took more like six hours. But Edwin was in no hurry to end our tour and neither were we. Most interesting and fun tour!
The Real Dominican tour with Ed and Henry was absolutely fantastic and AMAZING!!!!! I literally got back into town last night; i was on my first out of the country trip with my mom cousin and aunt (family girls trip) and at first we were all a little skeptical because we were warned to not go off the resort so we wanted a reputable company, but Ed (the guide) and Henry (the driver) did a great job of reassuring us that all was well before we pulled off.....we did the half-day tour in a private spacious air-conditioned van, and they pulled out all the stops.....the drive was relaxing and Henry is the greatest driver in the WORLD!!! Definitely knows how to navigate the treacherous DR city streets; no traffic lights or guides of any kind We were taken to the countryside, the "suburbs", and Higuey, the large city next to Punta Cana.....in the countryside we got to tour an actual Dominican family home where the patriarch sang us a song and we were shown how chocolate and coffee are made and the family's mango grove....Ed was very knowledgeable and even enlisted a local city guide named Tito....we went to a cigar making shop, toured the first cathedral built in the DR, and Ed even came out of his pocket to let us try some of the best empanadas and passionfruit juice ever!! They looked out for our safety and kept us informed and entertained.....I HIGHLY recommend this company and will definitely book with them again; they absolutely deserve it and I would give them 10 stars if I could
Great tour, very personal with a one on one feeling, tour guide is very knowledgeable and his English is really good too. The driver is excellent also. The tour covered alot of things that goes on in Punta Cana.
