We went as family and the island was beautiful, we were speechless. All the tours drop you to the island but the journey there is also an experience so I will pay more for better service and food in the island. I would still go next time I'm in DR. Would highly recommend

Scenery was gorgeous...undeveloped, natural coastline. Small boat was a little bumpy but we weren't on it too long. The natural pool was relaxing and fun. The island was very crowded; they take too many people there at once. They didn't warn us that there was very sharp coral in the water and my husband cut himself pretty good. As a whole, it was good and worth it just to see that beautiful water and coastline. We only left the resort one day and it was the perfect thing to do.
Everything was very crowded. First with the catamaran you are shoulder to shoulder and the boat is loud and far from relaxing. It didn’t help that our tour had people literally passing out and vomiting on our boat. Once at the island it is far from a secluded beach. It was very crowded and by the time we debarked and ate on the island we had very little time to actually enjoy the island before having to head back. In short if you are looking for a nice relaxing trip this isn’t it. If you are looking for a crowded party boat then this is for you.
We fully enjoyed our day trip to Saona Island because the stop at the natural swimming pool was amazing (10/10) and the trip was fun. It could have been much better if we weren't so rushed and the boat wasn't so crammed full. We only got 30 minutes at the natura6 swimming pool, and roughly an hour at Saona Island. The meal was ok but could be improved by providing some sauce with the chicken. It was pretty dry. Other aspects of the trip were good.
This was literally the highlight of our trip! It was a little interesting at first like getting there, you stop at a gas station but then after that you’ll be on your way to paradise! The tour guide and crew members were so much fun, and did an amazing job of getting us there and then getting us off the island and back to our resorts. I can’t recommend this day trip enough!! The water is absolutely beautiful! A must do!
Today, my family, friends, and I, along with our children, visited the natural pools and Saona Island as part of an excursion organized by the tour desk at our Bravo Palace Viva by Wyndham hotel. Starting with the natural aspect of the experience, it was truly positive. The natural pools are stunning, and although we could only admire the giant starfish from the catamaran, I appreciated the operators’ efforts to protect the environment. Apparently, just last year, hundreds of starfish died due to careless tourism. At Saona Island, we had the benefit of using the resort’s beach, with lunch and drinks included. While the meal was simpler with fewer options, both the meat and fish were excellent, and I appreciated the dedication of all the staff, as well as the beauty of the location. We were also fortunate with the catamaran trip, which had far fewer people on board compared to other boats that would stay out until the evening—some of those appeared to carry up to 100 people, which, in my opinion, is far too many. Our “combo” tour had us back by 4:30 PM, giving us plenty of time for a snack and another swim in the ocean before sunset. If I were to do this excursion again, I would definitely choose the same setup!
The tour was amazing. Very entertaining and with a beautiful view. We took a lot of great pics The food was good, but the drinks was a little limited
Unfortunately I have to give miguel 1 star. Initially responses were great until money was collected. When I decided to cancel the trip within the timeframe to get back my deposit, I was told my refund was to be returned (360$), its been over 3 months of trying to get in contact with him and it has been a nightmare to get at least some of the deposit back. Miguel prides himself on being “reliable” but to me is not an honest man. Good luck if you choose him.
Excellent excursion, money well invested, I had a lot of fun, the food was very good, the attention was first class. I would definitely do it again
1. Bring your own water. They will offer water on the beach we’re they serve lunch and that is all. There will be an hour bus ride each way with long waits in the sun to board the boats as well as a 30 minute swim off the boat. NO WATER! 2. This is not a snorkeling tour. After you arrive at the beach the will pull the boat up to the an old pier and let you Jim out if you would like. Bring your own gear. They only provide the masks. No snorkels or fins. After a few minutes they will deliver you to the beach. 3. You will travel one direction in a very small Speed boat. You will have a bruised back from the ride the next day. 4. The other direction will be on the catamaran.
This is my second time doing the tours with this company and I can say that it is excellent. the attentions, the collection, the lunch, the fun on the boat. the animation guys cheered on the return trip, we brought cookies to see the goldfish. Snorkeling was great. Manuel the guide excellent person. Jacob the photographer very kind. I really recommend them
Pretty cool experience. Wish there was more to do at the island. Very beautiful! The water was great! Loved stopping in the middle of the sea!
Pros: The guides were good and catered to us non-spanish speaking tourists. The catamaran was nice and speedboat was sufficient. The lunch was good. The photo's the guides took were good, but expensive Cons: There was no snorkeling. We chose this tour because it included snorkeling, and there was never any mention of snorkeling. The tour also said there were @ 50 guests. There were at least 80 crammed on this tour. It was very crowded in the shuttle, on the boats, and at lunch. The guides pushed selling items and especially selling their photos.
We really lived this tour. The guide was providing us with a lot of information and was very nice and happy. We loved the vibe on the boat, everybody was dancing and the drinks were good. At Saona we had a good lunch and good massage (extra cost of course). The only thing that I was a little bit surprised was to pay 60 dollars extra for some photos from airdrop. They should be aware that nowadays we have phones with very good cameras and we can do that. At least they should ask for a decent amount, not as much as the trip. The pina colada from the beach that we bought was amazing! About snorkeling I don t know what to say because i went to the water but nobody saw any fish! Thank you for the trip! ☺️
I think the guide is amazing. Best trip out of the 3 we had in 7 days. Super friendly and saona island is a must have. I already recommended this particular trip to my friend coming here in November
We enjoyed the island, although our time there felt short. Arrived around 12:20 then had to leave at 2:30. We left our resort at 7:30am and returned at 7pm. The trip there seemed unorganized, took us to a corner store where we waited for quite a while for another bus. Same idea on the journey home. But stopped at a KFC. Just felt like an overly long day and would have preferred more time on the island.
Manuel was the best tour guide ever!! He made us feel like his family. Also, beach bbq was Que Rico!! Yeeessssssssssssssss
This one was my favorite tour of all! Paradise! A little crazy in the beginning after the bus ride you get off and wait with many other tour groups to hop on a speed boat or catamaran. We started off on a speed boat which was fun! First stop was natural pools! Then couple hours on the beautiful beach with drinks food and even sections for massages! We made our way back on the catamaran which was fun! Lots of dancing and free drinks great vibes overall! We had an amazing time
Not my kind of trip, you spend 2 hours each way in a minivan to get to a busy place and wait for the speed boat like at some kind of meat market, then cramed in a speed boat and o a way back you get to spend an hour on the catamaran. The food on the island its ok, nothing special.
My husband and I went on the Saona excursion and it was awesome!! They picked us up from the hotel, we went on a big boat called catamaran and spent the whole day at the saona island and it’s was perfect, perfect boat ride and perfect, beautiful beach.
Saona was a wonderful experience! very good service, I want to repeat it again! I recommend the excursion
The best, I enjoyed very much, I like to dance in the catamaran and the speed boat uff, we had a pretty good day, everything was asome the servís was pretty good to the company were we buy the excursion is pretty good too
THe natural pool, the musica, the people, the entertainets the dances the joy of the employees the landscape
This excellent excursion was a whole new experience for my life. I recommend the service, the people, the water, the natural pool, the starfish. Enjoy all of this. Enjoy dancing on the catamaran. Enjoy the paradisiacal beach. an unforgettable experience 😍✅💯
I loved the service provided on the way to Saona Island, new transport, very professional driver on the catamaran. I enjoyed the typical Dominican music, super attentive guide on the island, good food, crystalline beach. Saona Island is actually a paradise come true, I loved it. .
It was an interesting experience. First, they pick you up from the resort and drop you off at a souvenir shop for about 30 mins, next they take you to a gas station, where they allow people on the bus to sell to you, then you get to the boat pick up spot where there are so many people selling items that it's overwhelming. Once you finally hop on the boat, you've been on a journey to get there for hrs and it can be exhausting. The highlight of the trip was the island. It is everything you see in photos and more!
Great excursion with Manuel our guide. A fun boat ride to and from the island. Manuel, Jacob and the other support staff were helpful and tried hard to make sure every had great time.
Trip was very fun. Catamaran was big and roomy and out of all the boats we passed ours seemed to be the most fun! The food on the island was pretty good and the water at the swimming pool was nice. The photos were very overpriced tho.
We had an amazing day at Isla Saona, thank you. A little bit chaotic too get there, but well worth it. The island is like a dream
Catamaran crowded and with VERY LOUD music. Bus driver allow passengers to purchase beers , many drunk. Bus had to stop twice for bathroom breaks. An awful experience.
pick up point was wrong. Not friendly at all not much use of english snorking equipment was not ready for everyone. transfers were very unprofessional
The entire experience was ridiculously horrible. Me and 4 other passengers were left behind at the bus transition spot. We had to wait 45 minutes before someone realized we were there. Then this guy spends 10 more minutes on the phone trying to get us a ride, making up every single excuse he could find. (I speak Spanish, FLUENTLY) We finally got picked up by the original driver who picked me up from hotel. He had to now drive us the entire way to bayahibe. So unorganized and even during the trip, there was no organization. What happened? I’ve done this excursion twice before and had the best time. End story( he had to drive us all home too, meaning I didn’t get home until 8pm, which I should have been home earlier if we left Saona at 330
We had a very good time. Natural pool, Saona island beach, pictures during the trip are exceptional. Guides were very helpful, kind and did their job very well.We really enjoyed free snorkeling session
Saona is the most beautiful place I have ever seen, especially the part of the natural pool. We had the chance to interact with a starfish and saw many colorful fishes. The bad part is that the photographers think they own the marine animals and if they see you interact want to take pictures themselves, so you have to buy them later. Also, unfortunately, the food is really bad, the island is little and only 60 people are living there but not justified we only could eat the chicken the rest was bad.
It was so much fun!!!! Jacob was the best guide and the crew was amazing! The service was great and we all had wonderful time. Loved our pictures!
Where do I start. From the time we were picked up in a grey hound a/c bus to back to our resort it was fantastic. You get a real feel for the Caribbean. From the beautiful surroundings. To the free time given. Nice. You are treated great and believe me feed well. If you like drinks that too. I would do it again for sure. Our tour guide Jose was extremely good. Have a great time.
The tour was great. The tour guide Jacob was great and took wonderful pictures. The ride back sucked but all else was great.
Favorite part was the natural pool. Very beautiful. Saona was great as well. Little. buffet on Island was adequate. Only alcohol was rum and coke. Ride over on the catamaran was awesome. Would definitely recommend the smaller/private tour if your time/budget allows. Inly negative was the free snorkeling on the way back. One mask for the entire boat lol. This is a must do excursion, especially will the terrible seaweed at our resort.
5 min of snorkeling at end of tour , they also threw bread in to get some fish , they don’t give you snorkels for the day so you must bring your own if you plan on snorkeling on island
Very nice trip! The staff was extremely friendly and will contact you personally which makes them very approachable. The island was beautifull as well as the swimming place. The free drinks and the dancing on the boat was awesome, and the speetboattrip back was a nice adventure.
A day out in paradise loved every minute a speedboat a tropical island and sea then a latin rum party back a special cheers to Jacob who looked after us you just have to be aware you are in the Caribbean and things are just done a little differently
Snorkeling was not for very long at all. 5 minutes best. Food was pretty decent, the “ bar “ they say they have.. don’t get your hopes up. It’s one type of liquor and soda. Same when you get to the island. Overall, I enjoyed myself. It was worth the money.
Wowww so glad we saved this for last ! The experience was amazing Jacob was an outstanding host , if you’re hesitant to book don’t be . You won’t regret it
1 hour on Isla Sanona, terrible food, rude servers, nasty people, drunk people causing fight on the boat.
Very fun excursion, beautiful Saona Island, impressive, we snorkeled, the catamaran party was very fun. We drank, we danced, they took pictures of the whole group for a small price. Very good Dominican food. Very punctual at pick up time. the very funny and explanatory guide. reserve and they immediately contacted us to give them the pick-up time. days before the excursion they called us to remind us of our excursion and schedule. good is worth paying for. I recommend them you will not regret it
Nice experience, decently organized. Catamaran part was fun and the crew friendly and energetic. On the island we stayed 2h sharp. The downside was the photo crew, moving guests away from parts of the boat to take pictures. Really annoying, and in the end they negotiated me for some photos. I only liked one, but they said they don't sell them by piece, I need to buy all (digital, nothing printed). Did so but in the end they didn't send any photos... Only after reaching out to the number I received the confirmation for the trip from, who mentioned the photo agency is separate, but still contacted and asked them to send me the photos, I receiced 1 low resolution picture (probably to make fun of) and the photo guy sending me a vm calling me a liar for askinf for the photos. Classic scheme to rob tourists, be careful, don't give them any money until they transfer you the photos, however I recommend ignoring them and saying no when they ask you to move away from the parts of the catamaran with a nice view.
Saona island was amazing. Nothing like I’ve ever seen before. However when I booked this excursion I was told it would be just our group and it was NOT.
Amazing crew and a great day well spent. From the driver that took us there to the depart point to Andy the photographer and Noel the Papa made the trip a great experience.
excellent service, very good food, the atmosphere, the very nice party on the boat, the entertainers, we really had a great time. I recommend it
What a day that was. We went by catamaran to Saona island and the crew were in non stop party mode (word of warning. If you sit at the front of the catamaran be prepared to get wet!!) The rum, music and dancing was non stop for the whole journey to the island!! Once on the island we had just under 3 hours until our journey back. On the island you have free drinks (some are not free), free food and stunning views. Our journey back from the island was an epic one to say the least. Part way back you stop off close to the shore for a swim ( water is actually only waste deep) in crystal clear seas. Within 5 minutes of leaving this area our speedboat broke down!! However after 30 minutes we were transferred to another speedboat and taken the rest of the way at high speed still beating the catamarans. All in all a fun action packed day with non stop laughter and it’s a lot cheaper doing it through Trip Advisor than the hotel reps. Spoke to one couple and they had paid the same price we paid for both our tickets for just one of theirs.
