BEAUTIFUL views!! Such a relaxing and great vibe, easy ride, FRIENDLY staff! Truly amazing! Worth the hype!
What a great experience. Horses were well trained. Guides were great! Thanks Juan and Eddie. Scenery was spectacular. Would highly recommend.
Unremarkable experience. I'm an incredibly organized and punctual person, so I made sure to confirm our pick-up time with the operator more than a day ahead - I had chosen a 5 pm tour and was advised we'd be picked up around 4 pm. 4 pm comes, we advised hotel staff we were expecting transportation pick up and were waiting in the lobby. 4:15, still waiting so I called the operator and was advised they were on their way. 4:30, still nothing, called again, they said the transportation had already picked up my group... I assured them that was false and that they were mistaken because we had been waiting in the lobby the whole time. They said they'd figure it out and call me back. At 4:45 I'd ran out of patience, I called again and advised that it was totally unacceptable to be this late picking up a group that if someone wasn't there in the next 10 mins I was cancelling and wanted a refund, and what do ya know... they showed up in the next 10 mins. The drive to the location? 10 mins from our hotel so not sure what the hold up was. Decided I wouldn't let this determine the energy for the day - the place seemed fine, you sit through an instructional speech. My group have ridden horses before so we're very comfortable on horses - regardless of your riding skill EVERYONE must wear a helmet, which we aren't fans of, for a multitude of reasons - sanitary reasons and just the inconvenience of having it on. As I mentioned, we're skilled enough, we like to go fast, and we weren't really given the opportunity to do so - i guess liability reasons. This is probably a good speed for groups who are first timers or just want to have a slow relaxing ride - not adrenaline seeking groups. The ride along the beach is nice, its not the nicest beach but it was fine.. Our tour guides were really nice, they were more bound by restrictions from the company but were still so nice and hospitable - they were the highlight of our tour. It was an ok experience, I'm sure the transportation issue was a one-off, but it's enough that along with the overall experience I probably wouldn't book again.
This tour was amazing!! I will definitely book again!!
Had a good time. The route/trail we rode on was nice, there was a little jungle experience and then we went on the beach through a little bit of water where we took pictures. The horses were kinda of hardheaded a few times and would do their own thing but other than that it was a beautiful experience. The tour guides were also very nice as well
It was a very nice experience and very fun
Great and fun felt very safe I actually felt Very comfortable!
People were very friendly and comforting. It was nice that the dogs followed us the entire time. Photographer took amazing photos.
The service was great the staff was friendly the camera man was great I would recommend . Definitely would do it again
Not like the pictures at all. The horses did not seem to have good living conditions and were agitated and jumpy in response. We felt very unsafe the whole tour. Do not recommend.
This was one of the most frightening and upsetting experiences I’ve ever had. The excursion was extremely sketchy, and the experience was nothing like what was advertised. They claim the horses are well-trained, but based on what I personally experienced, I strongly disagree. You don’t get to choose your horse, and you don’t learn anything meaningful about the horses, their personalities, their training, or what to expect before getting on. I specifically told them that I was scared and that I had NEVER ridden a horse before. Instead of taking that seriously or making sure I was comfortable, they completely disregarded my concerns. One of the biggest issues for me was how the guide treated my horse. My horse would try to stop and eat, and the guide repeatedly hit my horse to make it move. I repeatedly told him NOT to hit the horse while I was on it and told him that if the horse needed a break, I was completely fine with stopping. Despite me clearly saying this multiple times, he continued. I also noticed that my fiancé’s horse was flinching every time the guide came near it BEFORE everything went wrong. That was extremely concerning to me, especially considering what happened afterward. Halfway through the excursion, both of our horses suddenly freaked out. My fiancé’s horse threw him off and then ran away. The staff were unable to find his horse. My horse also took off running and nearly threw me off. I was terrified and had absolutely no control over what was happening. What made the situation even worse was how the staff handled it. I was shaking and crying after everything happened, and instead of stopping the excursion or making sure we were actually okay, they repeatedly told us we were “fine” and made us CONTINUE. My fiancé had literally been thrown from a horse, his horse had run away, and mine had nearly thrown me off, yet they still expected us to continue the excursion. The entire experience also left me extremely concerned about the treatment and condition of the horses. Based on what I personally witnessed, I have serious concerns about whether these horses are being properly trained, cared for, and treated appropriately. I obviously cannot speak for what happens when customers aren’t there, but what I witnessed during our excursion was enough to make me very uncomfortable. I understand that horseback riding comes with risks, especially when dealing with animals, but there is a major difference between normal risks and ignoring an inexperienced rider’s concerns, repeatedly hitting a horse after being asked not to, continuing after a rider has been thrown off, and telling someone who is visibly shaking and crying that they are “fine.” This was supposed to be a fun experience for my fiancé and me, and instead it became a genuinely terrifying situation. I would absolutely NOT recommend this excursion, especially to anyone who is inexperienced or nervous around horses. The way the horses and riders were handled was extremely concerning, and I would not feel comfortable putting myself or anyone else through this experience again.
It’s a very fun experience the staff was really fun to be with the pictures they took where great hats off to them
Paid for a private experience. Our driver was GREAT. However, pulled up and no bathroom, our guide didn’t speak English and was on and off his phone the whole time. It was supposed to be a sunset tour but they started us early and we didn’t see the sunset at all. The guide never even adjusted the stirrups to fit me and I couldn’t bear weight on my knee for a bit after due to this. Beach full of trash. I came to this company a few years ago and had a decent experience. Unfortunately, we will look for a new spot next time.
oh my god do this tour please. The people who run the tour are amazing. They took on a private trip across the beach as we watched the sun set. We got fresh coconuts that he got from the tree. We have great time I love love loved this tour
John Carlos took the most amazing photos! Juan ensured I felt comfortable when I told him I was scared of falling off the horse. He helped me on and off each time and held my horse in his hand since I was scared to lead on my own. A truly kind group of caballeros that wanted to give us the best even
The views were amazing and the guides were very kind! Jhon Carloz did an amazing job taking photos of our experience. 10/10 reccomend!
Great tour. The tour guides & all the horse guides were amazing. They worked hard on making sure we got our pictures right & made sure we were comfortable.
Very fun experience, would recommend , driver was very nice , and at the end he gave us coconut water
If you’re visiting the Dominican Republic, I can’t recommend this horseback riding excursion enough! My girlfriend and I chose the private tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I’d never ridden a horse before, so I was a little nervous going into it. Within just a few minutes, I felt completely comfortable thanks to our guide, Enrique (Ryke), who made sure I was relaxed and confident before we headed out. The ride itself was incredible. We spent about two miles riding along the beach with beautiful ocean views the entire way. One of my favorite moments was when our guide stopped and had a local gentleman cut open a fresh coconut for us right on the spot. I’d never had fresh coconut straight from the tree before, and it was such a unique experience that made the tour feel even more authentic. Choosing the private option was absolutely worth it. Instead of being part of a large group, it felt much more personal and relaxed, allowing us to enjoy the scenery at our own pace. It also included a photographer, John Carlos, who captured some incredible moments throughout the ride. The quality of the photos was outstanding and gave us memories we’ll have forever. Overall, this experience was a 10/10. If you’re visiting the Dominican Republic and considering a horseback riding excursion, I highly recommend booking the private tour. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish!
It was so much fun. Taking a horseback ride on the beach was something I always wanted to do and this surpassed my expectations. The professional riders were great, the horses well cared for and the beach was beautiful. Don’t hesitate to sign up for this tour you won’t be disappointed.
This was my first time riding a horse and it was a great experience! We were on the beach and the photographer captured some beautiful photos. Very nice and friendly people. I would definitely book with this company again.
Very great experience! The tour team was amazing!
10/10….. 2 hours on the beach…. Gorgeous and the guys were amazing to all our accommodations!!!! Favorite excursion yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not at all what you would expect for the 5 star reviews. You show up to a hut on the side of the road with about 20 men standing around starting at you. We requested an English tour guide and ended up with a 15 years old who spoke no English. They put you on a horse with extremely uncomfortable saddles and take what I will say is a nice ride through the forest. The beach is covered and I mean covered in trash. Beach is ok and they take decent photos of you and charge you $100 bucks. The saving grace is everyone who we communicated with was kind but extremely unprofessional operation. Please please please read 1 star reviews before booking.
We booked the Beach Sunset Horse Riding in Punta Cana (Private Option) and had such an amazing experience from start to finish. We had a fantastic time on the tour and riding along the beach it was such a beautiful setting and a really memorable experience. The horses, Blondie and Bastillio, were lovely and very well behaved. A huge thank you to our tour guide, Juan, who was fantastic throughout the whole experience. He was so engaging, friendly and made us feel completely comfortable and relaxed. What really stood out was how well he adapted the experience for both of us I’m a more experienced rider and he tailored things to suit me, whilst also making sure my partner, who was less experienced, felt comfortable and was having a great time too. He really went above and beyond to make the tour special for us, and we honestly had such a great time because of him. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Punta Cana, definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Great experience everyone was so friendly
Fun time with family and good for people who have no experience with horse riding. I would recommend to anyone.
This was a great time. Me and my family enjoyed this and would recommend it to everyone. Very courteous and friendly staff
My experience was wonderful. The beach is beautiful. I met the beautiful pony they have there; it has the most wonderful eyes. It was enchanting.
Was wonderful but didn’t get the fruit & champagne & the sunset we were promised
The experience was terrific however my tour guide was a little touchy and inappropriate. He seemed to always be touching me and I didn’t like it.
“We had an unforgettable experience ❤️🐎. My partner and I really enjoyed this horseback riding excursion in Punta Cana. The scenery was beautiful, the staff was very friendly, and the horses were calm and well cared for. One of the best parts was trying the traditional Dominican Mamajuana during the tour — such a fun and authentic experience 😄. Definitely a perfect activity for couples looking for something romantic and different. Highly recommended!”
The beach ride itself was beautiful, however the overall experience was disappointing and left me feeling quite uncomfortable. In my experience the “ranch” didn’t resemble what I expected and appeared quite unkept. I personally didn’t see any stables, and some of the horses appeared quite thin with visible hip bones. I also noticed at one point that horses were standing in an area where there seemed to be barbed wire which concerned me. The horses behaviour stood out to me as well. They seemed hesitant to leave the ranch, but on the way back they were moving quickly which made me question whether they were eager, all of the horses were trotting even if they had someone who had never ridden on the back. During the beach stop, I attempted to let my horse drink water but the guide repositioned the horse so it couldn’t reach the water any more. There were also some organisational issues. Our driver arrived late and had difficulty getting through hotel security which delayed the start, especially when we had to pick up additional guests along the way. The “photographer” was taking photos on an iPhone, and we weren’t shown or offered the images afterwards. Some elements listed as included weren’t provided during our experience. We weren’t offered the advertised coffee or cigar tasting. We were offered Mama Juana at a shop stop, which felt more like a sales opportunity and felt quite pressured to buy something. Overall, while the setting itself is lovely, the experience didn’t match my expectations based on the listing, and I personally left feeling uneasy about parts of the experience. I came away feeling so sorry for the horses!
Driver couldn't go through security at resort. Had to meet outside of gate. Drove to random location (not a business, but a random spot on side of road with a large group of men). Horses came randomly out of the woods after waiting like 15 minutes. Mosquitos are atrocious. Have to go through woods to get beach and got more bites than I have ever experienced in my life in the short ride on horseback. Beach was nice and photos are good but they try to swindle you and charge you $100+ for pics and one photo for $20. You do get horseback riding to the beach but if you are expecting a coordinated tour like you might get in other places... This is a very different experience.
It was an authentic and great experience!!! I did a private ride and as my first time riding a horse, the team was very good with assisting me! Wascar was very professional and kind! We also got to go the ranch and buy items to support the business and the dogs & cats that they adopt and rescue!
Very fun, friendly and professional!! Wascar was so kind and reassuring. Super safe as well!
Amazing experience. It was my first time riding and Wascar made me feel very comfortable! It was definitely worth the money and I recommend 1000%
Película definamente Really good time

It was an amazing experience. Took care of us from start to Finish. Jose and Juan Carlos were absolutely outstanding. Would recommend every time I visit the island.
The excursion was lovely. We did horse riding through the woods and by the beach. Rode around the town. Went to a farm where they had chickens and cats cacao, mamajuana, ect it was amazing the tour guide was good. Drove around in a Mercedes and it was a small group. Lovely people
wascar perez the driver he is amazing they showing us how he new farm, they rescue animal like cats and dogs and they have a doctor to take care of them , we really want to come and help next year. the tour was amazing and the beach was pretty
We had such an amazing time riding the horses and see the chocolate farm. The coffee was delicious!!! 10/10 would recommend
Signed up for a horse back ride, but recieved a first-person experience as the main characters in a horror/thriller movie. The logistics of transportation and the tour made my wife and I felt unsafe, which put us on edge the entire excursion. Everything that could of went wrong, did go wrong on the excursion. The logistics of transportation was unorganized/uncoordinated. First, there was confusion on whether we get picked up at our resort lobby or the security gate. Second, we were told they are changing our driver 30 minutes before our pickup up time. Lastly, our driver stopped on the side of the road at a beat up location next to another van. This is where it all went downhill fast from our perspective. Due to language barriers and no communications, we genuinely felt like we were being kidnapped. We were told to go into the other van that we stopped next to. Meanwhile, the drivers were exchanging large sums of cash infront of us. This situation put us on alert for the rest of the trip. We drove off with YET ANOTHER NEW DRIVER as our stress levels rose. There was temporary relief as we picked up another party and drove towards the "ranch". Total trip time for us was 1 hr. As we arrived into the "ranch" our stress began to rise again. The ranch was a small cocoa/tobacco farm with a beat up shack with a mini gift shop. At this time, we have not met our tour guide yet. As we were shepparded to the shack, we were offered coffee and a local drink (mamajuana). But due to our transportation experience and stress, we were suspicious that the drinks were spiked. We were somewhat relieved when our driver also tried the drinks. Our tour guide arrived shortly after. This is where another mistake occurred. The horses were supposed to be at the ranch at arrival, but due to backend miscommunication, they were located near Macao Beach. So, we were driven to the parking area at Macao Beach. We arrived to the beach parking area and met up with the tour guide and horse handlers. Our driver drove away in a hurry. The handlers put me, the other man, and two women on the horses, leaving my wife and a teenage girl on the road. Now, the tour operation realized they made another mistake, since they were missing a horse for our party of 6. The tour guide and horse handlers were haggling, meanwhile all of us were confused and stressed. The surrounding was not welcoming as there were men in vehicles just watching us. Our thoughts of being kidnapped resurged. There was some relief as the parking area had people coming in and out from the beach. We were told to get off our horses as they figured out the situation. The horse handlers walked the horses towards the beach. Momentarily leaving us all confused on the side of the road. The tour guide and handlers walked away while we all stood next to the road like lost prey. Eventually, the tour guide waved us to come to the beach. After many chaotic minutes of discussions with the tour guide, horse handlers, and horse owners on the beach. Our party of 6 got on our horses. The time is now 6pm, while we booked the tour for 4:30 pm. We had a short 1 hour "tour." The beach was beautiful. It was during golden hour, the waves were hypnotic, and there was a rainbow. The horses riding experience on the beach momentarily made us forget about the miserable/scary situation prior. At the end of the tour, we were riding along a road. We weren't told ahead of time of our route, so again, thoughts of being kidnapped resurfaced. We were relieved to see the ranch that previously caused us concern. The tour guide refunded 100% of the cost due to the chaos. The refund prevented this review from being 1 star. The tour guide was as pleasant to us as possible as he was handling the chaos and making sure we were OK. His words brought some calm to us throughout the experience. Throughout the tour, he assured us this was the first time this chaos has happened, as we all voiced our displeasure of the unorganized experience. The transportation back to our resorts went smoothly. What a relief.
Where to start...completely confusing and ever changing pickup instructions...complete lack of actual, or appearance of safety. Very few of the handlers (which included kids as young as ten) spoke decent enough english. They insisted my 9yo daughter could/should ride on her own despite being a first-timer. Her feet didn't even reach the stirrups and there was nothing keeping her on the horse besides sheer luck. At one point her horse took off galloping and I had to scream to get someone's attention to catch up and stop her horse. The beach is full of trash the entire way...if you don't look down I suppose it's pretty. After a couple short laps up and down the beach, we sat and waited without instructions for 25 minutes, before again, in indiscernable english, they asked us to get back on the horses to take them back to "el rancho". This was another 45 minute ride in which we were clearly tasked to commute the horses back home for the night, through the random concrete back streets of town at dusk...no idea where we were, who we were with, or where we were going. Not the remotest sense of personal safety. At one point, the leader pulled my horse from an off-street wooded area onto a sidewalk, which crushed my leg and arm between the horse and a telephone pole...I'm all scraped up to show for it. The prize for surviving this journey was an offer to buy the photos they took for $120 USD! It's implausible that these Viator reviews are authentic. Frankly, it's scary that Viator even sponsors excursions without verifying some minimum level of safety and accuracy.
First time riding a horse and it was an awesome experience! Would definitely do it again!
Great time, driver was friendly, kind and trustworthy. as were the other workers. The horses are nice and the trail was great.
Amazing experience, worth it completely. The tour guides were great and the ranch is great! If you are coming to Punta Cana and want the most authentic experience that is worthwhile do this excursion.
Not a great experience! The horses seemed healthy and bright, but the saddles were extremely uncomfortable, and our guide kept wanting to trot all the time. A rising trot was impossible as the gait was very fast and uneven and a sitting trot is very uncomfortable if one has a bad back and DD girls up front!! And then it started to rain - proper Caribbean big rain - warm but very very heavy. We were absolutely soaked and decided to call it a day after 15 minutes. We would not have seen the sunset through the cloud anyway. Altogether a disappointing trip, some of which was down to the weather, but I think it would not have lived up to expectations even if it had been fine.
