Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport To Hotels (1-5)

Our private transfer that was booked and paid for, was not available for us. The Nexus tour guy at the Punta Cana airport kept calling the driver and could not find him after waiting over 30 min, the rep said they downgraded us to shared transfer and to take the bus (which would have been another hour or so more wait).. or pay a taxi.. we are not impressed that our private transfer was not there for us even after booking and paying in full in advance, after a late night arrival. (which was on time that was not the issue) We requested a refund for the private transfer service that you could not provide. After 2 months, all I get when checking back your customer service, is case # and The refund request is subject to approval from our directors. They are not acknowledging that this incident happened. Will never use their service again. Be very careful paying in advance for Nexus!

Greeting from the representative was great. He escorted us to our vehicle, though we did have to wait a few minutes for one to arrive. No issue there. It was nice to be in warm weather finally. But the driver that showed up simply walked away. The representative loaded our bags in the car and the we sat and waited and waited. The driver never came back to the car. The representative finally came back, told us to get out and retrieved our bags for us. We went to another vehicle and got on our way. Not sure what all this was about, but the process should have been more seamless. We wasted about half an hour. Again the representative was great. The driver had attitude.

Our dealing with Nelson at Sunwing Sunscape Coco was beyond amazing ! He is kind, experienced, well organized. I would recommend doing reservations with him for all activities. We loved dealing with him. ❤️ Danielle Moisan and Claude Dorion

Sadly, my experience with Nexus Tours was quite subpar and I will not use them again for a private airport transfer. We had booked private return transportation through Nexus after seeing their affiliation with Marriott. When we arrived around 10PM, we stood at the desk while the representatives scrambled to find someone to help us. We were brought out to the parking lot and stood there... and stood there. There was NO driver to be found. The guy who brought us out to the parking lot wandered away (to find someone?) and we were left alone to wait. The whole time we stood there with our kids, we were hassled by shady individuals handing us business cards saying stuff like "I can get you ANYTHING you want....". It didn't feel very safe. It took 45 minutes for a driver to finally show up. He grumbled something about our plane being late (it wasn't) and how he had waited for us for over half an hour before he had to take another fare and then come back for us. Jeez, sorry about that. For our return trip from the resort to the airport, we went to the lobby 30 mins before the scheduled departure time and spoke with a Nexus rep that was down there. He did not have us on his list and, again, it seemed very disorganized. A driver arrived about 15 minutes later to take another couple to the airport. The rep explained that we could either go with this non-private option now, or wait until a driver could come for us. "It's up to you" he said. "We can get you to the airport on time, or you can wait for a private driver". After our arrival experience, I was not about to wait. We took the "now" option and crowded into the vehicle with others. I wrote to Nexus after our trip to let them know that the experience had fallen short of expectations and no one replied. I guess they already had our money and just didn't care. Just know that Nexus Tours might advertise one thing and then provide another when you actually get there. There is seemingly no repercussions for giving you service that is less than what you expected. Thankfully, there are other options that we can consider in the future.. and it won't be Nexus.

Very comfortable ride, nice being able to get on the free wifi. Driver was awesome and the guide was very funny. Great air-conditioning on the bus as well.

Great host Ricardo. Very enjoyable to be around. Great on bus entertainment and information prior to arriving at hotel. Hotel was entertaining lots of things to do during down time.

Nexus Tours was a great experience during our vacation in the DR. Guys at the airport were on point and rep Reynaldo was really helpful at Lopesan too. Would highly recommend them for future trips.

We scheduled a quick vacation to visit a Royalton property in Punta Cana. We traveled with our 3 young children and their grandmother, so we wanted a smooth arrival. The Royalton recommended we do a private transfer with NexusTours, their preferred provider. So, we prepaid for private transportation from the airport to our Royalton property. Upon arrival at the airport, we had to wait 30 minutes while NexusTours tried to find a vehicle for us. All of their vehicles were in use elsewhere, so we had to book a taxi instead. We were assured that this mishap was being reported and that we would be refunded our taxi fare (which was more expensive than the private transport) once we got to the hotel. We were told this information would be on our reservation so the proper refund could be provided - we just needed to save the taxi receipt. So, we paid the taxi in addition to the prepaid transportation. Upon arrival to the Royalton property, no one with NexusTours was working, so the Hotel concierge told us to come back the next day from 11AM-4PM. We stopped by several times the following day, and no one was there. Finally, on day 3, someone was there, and I was relieved. Unfortunately, I worked with Delfi at NexusTours and she was horrible. She did not believe me when I told her what happened. She did not care about our experience nor did she apologize or express any concern whatsoever. She half-heartedly took a screenshot of the reservation confirmation and taxi receipt (after I offered it) and said she would have to send this to the office to verify my side of the story. Delfi said the next step was to wait to hear back from her superiors. She said she would text me via WhatsApp once she heard back. I followed up with her at the end of the day, and she had no update. I followed up with her the next day and still no update. At this point, she asks me for my email and phone number (which she already had) and told me someone else would contact me. I never heard from anyone and Delfi has since ignored my WhatApps requests for an update. Now, back to the first time I spoke with Delfi (before knowing how terrible this company is) I went ahead and requested the complementary transportation for our return flight. Delfi said she could not arrange that; I must download the app and book through the app. While I sat at her desk, I downloaded the app and tried to book the complimentary transport. There was no option for complimentary transport. She said I instead needed to book a taxi because they don't actually offer complimentary transport. I asked why complimentary transport is posted on the website if it is not available? She said "this is how my company works". I also asked why she told me to book on the app if she knew it wasn't even an option? Delfi just looked at me and shrugged. Needless to say, do not waste your time or money with NexusTours. We will have to refute the charge via our credit card company because of this dishonest and incompetent company.

I booked so that my partner and I would be able to make it from the airport to the hotel we were staying at. I booked a week in advance and called multiple times. Each time I called I was talking with a headquarters rather than the location in Dominican Republic who would be transporting us. We had flight complications and rescheduled to move our pick up to the next day. According to the person I spoke to everything was on track. When we arrived at the airport I called Nexus one more time just be 100% certain where we would be finding the car while we waited for our bags. The person on the other line assured we would just have to go outside to meet the team and we would be on our way. They told us we had 3 hours from when the plane landed to get to the car. We got to the desk on hour after the plane landed because of airport security and passports, etc. etc. When we got to the desk they told us that the car had left without us because it had been waiting for too long. We went back and forth about how I called before hand and how they already had the passengers of the vehicle in the car and could no longer wait for us. That they could only wait 30 minutes for the passengers to arrive. How they were trying to get us another car and how much of a favor they were doing us because of how difficult it was for them to get us another vehicle. We waited for them to get us another vehicle for an hour. They kept saying that the car was at the other terminal waiting to pick up other customers and that it'd be right there. We were already exhausted and irritated that we ended up calling an uber. On top of all of that, we had also booked a car to take us from the hotel to the airport on the day of our departure and were told that Nexus tours would be reaching out to us 2 days before the ride to make sure we knew when they would be picking us up. They never reached out to us. At no point did I recieve a confirmation email or call to make sure we were on the same page. Awful communication. At the end of the day we never rode in a Nexus vehicle even though twe booked 2, Nexus tours never reached out to us at any point and we never got a refund.

We used this company for our private transportation to and from the punta Cana airport to our resort. Was a nice vehicle and drivers. They were on time and very nice. Our vehicles were both clean and nice suburbans.

Our " Go to" guy was German. He arranged transportation for everyone in our family to and from the airport! He also assisted us with our excursions off of the resort which we all enjoyed. If we needed accommodations, we received them. During our transportation to and from our excursion, we were given a brief history lesson on what we were seeing during our travels. We had a ton of questions to which they were eagerly answered and Happy to share. If/when I visit again, I will definitely use the Concierge services you provide. Until the next time! If your traveling to Punta Cana and are looking for trustworthy and reliable service, you won't be disappointed.

Great experience from pickup to drop off. Very little waiting time for either. They arrived when they said that they would. Driver taking us to our resort was very nice and engaged with us the entire time. Our driving returning us to the airport didn't talk a lot but arrived on time. We did use the representative to book our excursion to the Bavaro Adventure Park. Probably should have asked a lot more questions before we booked.

We used Nexus for our transportation to our hotel in Punta Cana and our return to the airport. We booked them before leaving for our trip. They were fantastic! They were extremely responsive, easy to find in the busy airport and the drivers were courteous and drove safely! Would absolutely recommend to use them and I would use them again. Thank you!

We traveled in a group to Punta Cana. The airline overbooked the flight and two of the guys in our group were put on a different flight. We had booked Nexus for our transportation and when we arrived at the airport we explained to the representative that they would be coming in on a later flight. The representative took down all the information and said he would be at the airport later that evening and take care of everything no problem everything would be taken care of. When the men arrived at the airport they refused initially to take them to the hotel and then finally agreed to do it and charge them an additional $60 for a transport we had already paid for. We had similar experience using Nexus in Jamaica. Their customer service is terrible

Never use its transport services. We used their services to and from the hotel and despite booking child seats for both our kids they turned up without any BOTH times, despite complaining after arriving at the hotel to ensure, at least the way back, we would get our seats. Their answer is: “you can call your own taxi and see if they have any”. Never again. Unprofessional and totally unapologetic. It goes without saying, I have little hope of recovering the extra charges for the seats.

SCAM BEWARE!! We ordered a luxury vehicle and no one came to pick us up. Waited for 1 Hour and ended up taking a van to the hotel. Booked another vehicle for my father 3 days later. No one showed up to pick him up. This is a scam obviously. Never using viator again!!’

Both our ride to and from the hotel met and exceeded our expectations. On the way back to the airport my daughter discovered her wallet had dropped out of her pocket while waiting in the lobby. Samuel located quickly and sent the paperwork we needed for the hotel to release it to another taxi driver so he could bring it to us immediately. Samuel made all the arrangements within minutes and saved us from a ‘vacation disaster’. Samuel was OUTSTANDING! We could not have had a better outcome.

Our experience with Nexus tours was excellent and they were flawless. Communication, technology use, dealing with an agent - it was all good. The shuttle arrived as promised 5 minutes before time, wifi on board, drivers (well, everyone in DR) wearing masks. Would use Nexus tours again for sure.

We actually transferred from one resort to another and though there was a little mix up in the address (there are 2 Dreams Resorts in Punta Cana!) I have to give Nexus a 5 star review because in the transfer of luggage and getting into a new room, I realized I lost my camera! I didn't know if I left it in the van, in the lobby, etc. I just knew that all the pictures of our 4 days in Punta Cana (and my treasured Camera) were no where to be found. I looked all around the hotel lobby and then called Nexus as my last hope. I talked to a manager who took my information and told me they would call me the next day with an update. At 9am, I got a call in our room and was told my camera had been found! Our same driver returned it to me shortly after and probably thought I was a crazy person, running to him in tears so grateful for his kindness and for going out of the way for my mistake. I wish I knew his name but I will never forget his face- (he had braces over his perfect smile) and learning about his family during our transfer. There are good people in the world and at least one of them works at Nexus Travel!! Muchas Gracias!

Visiting Punta Cana was a great experience, one of those you really enjoy and remember. I'd like to repeat it and visit the many places I missed. Punta Cana has a beautiful beach, although to tell the truth I like the one in Varadero in my beautiful Cuba better, with its blue sea and fine white sand. They offer excursions ranging from the adrenaline rush of ziplining through a forest at high altitude, to the fun of riding a mud-covered buggy, to the relaxing ocean crossing to Saona Island, to the exciting night at the Coco Bongo nightclub where you can party hard. But the best thing about Punta Cana is its warmth, the lovely people there, they make you feel at home and that is appreciated. And if we're talking about wonderful people, I can't help but mention KILLY ALCALA, our representative from NEXUSTOUR, who took us by the hand from the moment we were welcomed at the airport and guided us throughout our stay. KILLY is attentive, helpful, concerned and has a smile that brightens the day. He's the kind of person you thank God for knowing. I remember that on one occasion the driver of one of the trucks that was supposed to take us on an excursion didn't wait for us, and it wasn't because we had arrived late to the hotel lobby but because he couldn't find us and we were sitting there waiting for someone to call us, but they never did or we didn't hear them, which was strange because four of us were deaf, and he left without us. We called Kelly and shortly after she sent us another transport so we could enjoy the excursion, she solved the problem. I hope NEXUSTOUR has many KILLYs on its staff.
