It was Awesome.. be patient but worth it.. the boat ride out to the fishing area is about an hour.. the boat continues to move. So make sure you eat before going. And take nausea/seasick medication.. a few people on board got sick.

Itinerary
The deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean await you! Live a day like no other with this fishing tour off the coast of the Dominican Republic. The tropical currents of the Atlantic and the Caribbean gather schools of bait and fish around the coasts, making these places a paradise for sport fishing. You will experience amazing trolling style fishing which is rig dragging. The fishing rods will remain in the safety holes until a fish bites, meanwhile you will enjoy the mesmerizing natural beauty of the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Depending on the season you will be able to fish for species such as: goldfish, barracuda, needlefish, white marlin, blue marlin, wahoo, among many others! Punta Cana is one of the best places to fish for marlins; in 2016 it was ranked second in the Billfish Report. It's no wonder why this is one of the best places to go looking for big fish.

An amazing fishing tour with a truly profesional Crew. They go abovedado and beyond to make sure everything going fine. Great service fantástic atmosphere and super attentive staff.
They canceled on us two days in a row. The first day we were in the van to pick up someone else who didn’t show and then they canceled. 2nd time the seas were too rough so they couldn’t take us out. Never got to do it.
An excellent experience! The service was impeccable from start to finish. Both the staff on board and the captain proved to be extremely professional, attentive, and knowledgeable about the area. As an avid fishing enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and luckily, we managed to catch two mahi-mahi. This tour is highly recommended for those seeking quality service and a first-class experience."
The charter was supposed to pick me up at 7 AM, then they sent an email that said they would be picking me up at 45 outside of my hotel at the main entrance. So right outside of my hotel lobby at the main entrance I waited for about an for them, then received a text message stating that they we’re waiting outside the main security gate for the entire resort complex. But they let me know this after they already left. So I did not get to go on a charter fishing trip that I had booked. I would highly recommend not using this charter for fishing. They do not communicate well at all. This was going to be the highlight of my trip to Punta Cana. It sucks. They did refund my money though.
Had a great time. Staff was attentive and courteous.
I would highly recommend this tour with a few caveats. If you suffer from motion sickness like me please take medication like Dramamine or motion sickness medicine. I had the patches and I still got sea sick but when the Draminine kicked in I was fine. The boat will be moving the entire time and they put the lines in the water. So there is no stopping. We caught barracuda and mahi mahi. Please be aware that you have to ask to keep the fish. I did not know this because in my culture it is automatic that the fish gets split between everyone. This is not the case. I had to ask the driver to get the mahi mahi that I caught and he was able to do so without issue. Afterwards, we used the fish we caught and the store cooked it for us. Overall is was a great time and I would do it again.
Very professional staff and they were really working hard to make it a great experience! Don't forget the dramamine! The driver Carlos was great speaking English and offered to go above and beyond to make sure our trip to and from the resort was enjoyable! The fish were not cooperating today, other than a Mahi Mahi which was fun to catch! They even fileted the fish for us at the end to take it with us! They had cold warer, coke, and rum for the duration of the trip! Very good excursion, overall! Thank you!
Esteban was excellent in accommodating our needs. We had to reschedule twice, once due to weather and once due to illness. Fishing was excellent.
If you are prone to seasickness don’t go. 5 of 9 people got sick. Probably not a good idea for a windy day A 4 hr tour turn into 6 hrs and they did not come to the hotel lobby they waited at the main gate
Great experience I threw up over board but was my first time on a boat felt great afterwards didn’t catch much fish but still great opportunity with great people
Fishing trip cancelled due to hurricane Melissa. Disappointed but stuff happens. Having difficulty getting the tour operator to acknowledge tour credit.
What an experience to say the least. Great price, great crew and people. Even with pills, I still got very seasick with the rough waters. Laying down inside did help the most. Now For the fishing, the deckhand/mate was great. Everyone in the group got to reel in at least 1 fish. We caught a mix of mahi mahi and barracuda. (This is fishing so fish are not guarenteed). Clean/safe boat. Would reccomend to a friend or another.
We caught one fish for 8 people on the boat. I felt bad because 6 of them had never fished on the ocean before. The seas were super rough with about 1/2 of the group barfing over the side of the boat. The crew did their best to put us on fish but it was just too rough for surface fishing. I’m right in the middle with this trip. Don’t book it if you have a weak stomach. Otherwise hope for the best. Our Mahi was very delicious for dinner so that was a strong positive
Very cool experience! We went with 3 other people. Staff were great, spoke very little English. If you get motion sick easily I would not go. We went for 4 hours and I threw up the entire time. Caught 3 fish in the 4 hours.
The communication around the pickup from hotel was nonexistent. The sea was incredibly rough and half of the group were very sick. 1 barracuda was the only catch. We voted unanimously as a group of 8 to head back after 3 hours because everyone just wanted off the boat. The skiff to get to/from the fishing boat was sketchy at best. I didn’t realize we’d have to get in the water to get to the boat. It’s not an experience that I’d recommend, but I will say the guys on the boat were nice enough.
The door operator picked me up at scheduled. I shared the boat with six other individuals. Fishing was not good, but two days earlier the tour operator caught four white Marlin. The boat was clean and spacious. The captain and mate did your best to catch fish.
Very disappointed first mate slept majority of day checked rigging when he woke up never caught a single thing everyone was sick due to high waves trip should of been cancelled
Boat wasnt anywhere near as bad as other review made it seem. It handled the swells very well and the captain was clearly experienced. The two dudes that assist with the whole thing were very attentive and cool. The reason they cant play music the whole time is 1.) because they use internet to stream the music and when youre two miles or more offshore, you dont get signal. Also, youre listening for audio queues on some of the rods. We had several big bites and almost on the line moments. However, we only ended up catching two Barracudas. My girlfriend caught the bigger of the two (which made the entire trip worth it for the both of us) we had good conversation, and for the price, it was worth it. They said if you caught anything edible that you could keep it too, so thats a plus. They offered water and soft drinks. The return shuttle for a little worse for wear but was on par with most of the shuttles we took during our stay in Punta Cana. Compared to what I paid in Hawaii for what we got, this is far more worth. I do wish they would stop for like 30 min or so and lets us bottom fish for some smaller tropical fish.
At no fault to the vender, I attempted to request a refund from trip advisory and never received it. Please respond when you get this. Again no fault to the vender.leaving a three star review because I’m sure these people were great
Turcana did an OK job connecting with me prior to the trip. We had to reschedule a hour before we were to leave due to high waves and made the trip work a day later. Our driver to the marina from the hotel drove a vehicle with door handles falling off which wasn’t a great first impression for us (me and 4 teens). We were dropped off at the marina in Bavarro, and given a brief but friendly tour as we were transferred from one handler to the next. We were encouraged to add drinks and souvenirs, but we declined. We took a small skiff (no life jackets for us) and transferred to the deck of the trolling vessel. It was all a little sketchy, but workable. The two mates helped us aboard. They were nice enough, and occasionally asked if we needed anything as they went about their tasks. Never heard/saw much of the captain. The vessel itself had seen better days, but it navigated swells, well, just swell. The loud, smelly diesel engine was a constant companion. The mates usually kept to themselves up in the rigging. I felt like they could have changed bait more regularly, but they put us on four barracuda. In the last 40 minutes, one of the mates put on some music which was a welcome break from the drone of the engine. Unless you live the salt life, take something for motion sickness! The waves we had (2-3m, but many larger) made even getting to the fighting chair a little hairy. Trolling tends to be pretty boring, so I was glad each teen got a chance to reel one in as there’s no guarantee there will be any catching. Once we reached port, the crew helped with pics of our catch and had another skiff (no life jackets) pick us up, this time taxiing us directly back to our hotel’s beach. The trip was certainly memorable, and I recommend it for those seeking an authentic DR experience, but aren’t put off by the rougher edges of the marina.
Successful catches, all aboard landed a fish. The crew were great. The transportation from the hotel went fairly smoothly.
We had an enjoyable morning and even caught some fish. 🐠 The chaps on the boat worked hard to make sure the day was fun and relaxing. The pick up and transfer worked well.
It was an excellent day! Everyone caught a BIG fish. Staff was extremely helpful and lots of fun was had! Very enjoyable day.
90 min van ride and then rode around in a old boat for 4 hours, we didn't see a fish. 4 hours, not 1 bite. We didn't touch a fishing rod. Then they took us back to the beach for the 90 min ride back to the resort.
Overall it was a great experience. Like others the nausea was intense but expected. Aside from that great experience. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We caught 1 barracuda and 4 mahi mahi. Also seen whales while we were out. I would definitely book with this company again.
Initially stated that there will be 4-6 people. It was 8 people. In four hours caught one small barracuda. They didn't have even fish finder. Everybody was disappointed.
My husband and son had an excellent time. Love the fish they caught. This is there 2nd time deep sea fishing. Different area and they were wowed they surely would recommend to anyone that would love to do this.
VIATOR were brilliant. My pickup time didn't update on the app. Contact Viator as Tour company never replied and they sorted straight away via WhatsApp, very easy - Plus Viator we're so much cheaper than booking via hotel! Started with a good on-time pick up from our hotel. Taken to the Boat Yard and introduced to the shop owner....a bit of pressure to purchase from the shop! Expensive, be carefully. Paid £5 for a can of redbull Popped on a smaller boat and transferred to the Fishing boat. All was good, until we hit very high waves. 3 out of 6 were sick, so choose a calm day if you can. Withing 20mins we caught 3 Mahi Mahi and I caught a Barracuda. The boat hand made sure we all got a turn! Unfortunately that was all we caught. The rest of the 2-3 hours was being thrown around in the boat. Not the tour companies fault, that's what fishing is about - win some and lose some! Plenty of drink on board, soft drink and beer. Didn't see any snacks (even though it mentioned them) so take your own biscuits (helps with seasickness) or even better sea sickness tablets. Had a great photo option at the end, using your own phone, so no pressure to purchase pictures 😀 Would go again....on a calmer day
Very nice trip, boat was more spacious than expected with a covered seating area with enough space for everyone. Recommend taking Dramamine the night before if you get seasick. 4 out of six people were not doing well.
Catching (9) Mahi Mahi was a great experience and being out in the deep ocean/sea was great therapy for me. The host are great seamen.
Had great time just being on the sea and the bonus of catching Mahi Mahi. Crew was great, especially young guy he just wanted everyone to be happy ..thanks for the great day on the open waters beautiful
We really enjoyed it. Thought we were going to out and stop and fish . But the boat was a continuous ride . But we had a good time
I loved my experience. I dared to go alone (woman) and I felt safe and was well taken care of. I caught a big Barracida as a bonus 🙌
