Been here a couple of times it was definitely better after the last uplift. Very clean place, very good food and excellent service. A man named Luis by the pool was honestly the best. He was always ontop of everything from bringing drinks, bringing food and making sure everything was always 100% he was also a very funny person and made us feel super welcomed by always going out of his way to satisfy us. I would definitely recommend the food here they have so many options and have an amazing buffet for all to enjoy. And if you love swimming you will enjoy the beautiful pools they have around. Would definitely keep staying here over and over.
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful place to relax and take your mind off everything. Everyone was so kind and the room was great. They actually upgraded our room at no cost. There are so many different areas to sit by the pool, and the beach is just a 2 minute kart ride which the resort provides. Food is decent, I really loved their Greek Burger at Tacorini. Overall, pleasant experience!
This resort is stunning! It's very clean and well kept if you're booking a room request the bottom floor as the outdoor space is huge and a great place to lounge. The pools are also well kept. And the staff are amazing. The food at the restaurants is great, but the buffet is mid. Tacorini by the pool is 10/10 if you want impeccable guest service ask for Willanda and Yenni. This is not a party resort if you're looking for vibes and relaxation this is definitely it. The spa is also STUNNING. Very pricey for basic packages but I'd still recommend for the aesthetics. It's also kid friendly, but I wouldn't recommend unless you plan outside excursions because there's not much activities for them other than a plethora of swimming pools.

Everyone we've encountered have been so kind and thoughtful that made our stay just wonderful.
This hotel wouldn't be the same without all the wonderful people that work there and make it special; giving 100% to every visitor.
While Zel Resort had some positives, our overall experience was disappointing. We requested a room with two beds but only received one and had to settle for a pullout couch. The buffet schedule was inconsistent and poorly communicated, with several closures and limited lunch options. Ironically, Palma Real next door offered a much better buffet experience.
Volcan was the standout restaurant, while the others lacked variety and quality. Our butler, Frank, was very helpful and assisted us with reservations and requests.
For a resort marketed around wellness, there were surprisingly few activities, and the atmosphere was extremely quiet, especially at night. Those looking for nightlife or a balance of relaxation and entertainment may be disappointed. Thankfully, Fun Republic provided some much-needed evening entertainment.
The resort felt more Mediterranean than Caribbean and lacked the vibrant Dominican atmosphere we expected. Zel seems best suited for couples, families, and guests seeking a very quiet getaway.
On the positive side, there were plenty of pool daybeds, though beach seating was limited and the beach daybeds required an extra fee. Overall, the resort still seems to be working out many issues, and I left feeling disappointed by the experience.
