The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club

Do not waste your money here. Everything at this resort is incredibly overpriced for what is, at best, a mediocre hotel. You’re provided only six bottles of water per day, and if you want water at a bar or restaurant, expect to pay for it. The rooms are nothing special and certainly don’t reflect the prices being charged. The service was one of the biggest disappointments. The staff operates on an entirely different level of “island time,” with virtually no sense of urgency. I’ve stayed at several places on the island, and the service here was noticeably worse. Brassa Steakhouse was another major disappointment—generic steakhouse quality at roughly four times the price. The spa may have been the biggest waste of money. The facility is just okay, the treatments are nothing memorable, and after paying premium prices, we waited nearly an hour just to get transportation back to the hotel. Overall, this property seems to be trying to position itself as a high-end resort while putting minimal effort into the service, amenities, and attention to detail required to actually deliver that experience. It falls far short of the standard I’ve experienced at other Westin properties. For the prices they charge, there are much better options in Punta Cana.

Overall good experience. It is expensive, like most resorts, but pretty decent place to stay if you are looking for a beautiful beach to relax at for a few days. The service I got was good, everyone I talked to was nice. I do think there should have been clearer details about the shuttles and nearby activities, but I still had a good time.

We had a great experience at The Westin in Punta Cana. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a perfect view of the ocean. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The only downside was the large amount of sargassum on the beach. The resort staff worked hard to keep the beach as clean as possible, but unfortunately, the amount of sargassum was simply overwhelming. I definitely can’t blame the resort for something caused by Mother Nature, and I truly appreciate the effort the staff put into managing the situation. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our stay. The beautiful ocean view, clean accommodations, and wonderful staff made our trip memorable. We would definitely consider staying here again!

This is not a 5-star property. The grounds themselves maybe. They are gorgeous. The beach is clean, the pool is also gorgeous and lovely. However the rooms were just ok. The bathrooms could use work. Zero hooks for hanging towels or the robe and the light in the shower space was very dim. There was only one robe, no slippers and no turn-down service. The service was meh. Very few employees smile or are genuinely kind. You have to wave servers down at the pool/beach to get a drink. And they rarely stop by to ask if you want another. The food itself is just ok and fairly limited options. For the prices, it was not impressive. The Brassa steakhouse was probably the best meal. I never got to try breakfast as it closes at 10:30/11. The location is definitely the best part. 10min from the airport but you can’t tell. It’s quiet and peaceful. There is a free shuttle to the airport and you can get to the punta cana villages where there are some local restaurants. The resort grounds are quite large and they actually drive you to the spa which is just a few minutes away.
