Exciting experience to see the end of South America continent and the converge of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Be aware the Magallanes area is extremely windy and cold, wear appropiate warm clothes including hat , neck and hands clothes. History part is boring and the cafeteria too expensive, so bring snacks or wait to arrive at Punta Arenas for lunch or dinner.

We had a great day out in the park with our guide Jose. He took us to the Fort and made sure we stopped on the way to take in some of the beautiful scenery and explained the history, the Chilean way fo life and how this developed. He was happy to answer our various questions.
Prompt pickup, our guide Francisco and driver were very good and informative. Plenty of photo stops on route. Fort and museum were very good . Onsite restaurant very good too Excellent value for money.
Good route and friendly guide. Comfy minibus however the mic wasn’t working properly, the aircon didn’t keep the windows clear so difficult to see passing countryside, driver was stressed and driving initially erratic. 2 people were very late and we waited for them so instead of a 9pm start we didn’t leave till 10:25. Should have left them. Not fair on the rest of the group. However 5 hr tour but we’re back by 2:10. So actually 4hrs. Not impressed.
Great guide who spoke good English , really interesting information and half day was the correct timing for this visit.
The trip did not run. I waited at the advised pick up location, for a 9am pick up. The arranged pick up did not happen, and I did not receive any notification that there was an issue. I waited 30 minutes then tried to contact both Viator and the operator. The operator did not respond immediately. By 10am, the operator responded and said the van had mechanical issues. They offered a tour later in the day, I could not do that time. The reason I gave a 2 star rating is that the operator provided a prompt refund. I understand that issues can occur but there is no excuse for not notifying.
The experience was great, the tour guide was awesome. Our ship docked at a commercial port instead of tendering, which is always great. But in this case (NOT), the ship used a shuttle bus to drop us off at the main square. I was suppose to met the guide outside the passenger port, in which I was not there. I called the company and they said no problem I will send the guide to come and pick you. He arrived a few minutes later and off we went, So Greatful. The tour was very nice spent a lot of time learning about the fort. The scenery was awesome, including the drive. Highly recommend this tour.
Hernan was able to communicate in English and did a good job in explaining the history of the fort and of the surrounding areas.
The only bus travelling here arrives 8h45 and the park only opens at 10am. Return bus only at 8pm... yes, that's true! There's no one around to explain the importance of the site or guide you through it. Costly/pricy entrance for what you get in return! It's worth going here if you're planning on doing the 10km hike along the cost. Beautiful!!! You might even get to see the fisherman and have a chat with them.
We signed up the trip and checked the box for an English tour guide. On the day of picking up, there is only a driver speaking Spanish only. Two other parties are Chilean and therefore not a problem for them. We missed all introductions en route to the fort. Fortunately the ranger gave a 15 minutes English briefing on site. The fort and surrounding waterfront are worth to visit though.
Overall the tour was good, weather did not really cooperate but that was not the guides fault, my only reason for a slightly lower review is that we were on a small tour, 7 people, and we were the only non Spanish speaking couple. The guide did a reasonable job of explaining things in English, but spent 75% of the tome chatting in Spanish, which left us feeling we were not getting the same full explanation as the rest of the tour.
A fantastic tour of the fort and park, with lots of history and great views. I was surprised when I arrived and was the only member of the tour, but the guide explained it would still run! My guide; Gabriel and driver; Victor were absolutely brilliant. We managed to do all the trails in the park including a beautiful walk through ‘woodpeckers forest’. Gabriel provided an informative history of the fort and surrounding strait and was very friendly and accommodating. Victor stopped the bus for me on the way back to town when we spotted a sea lion and dolphins from the shore for a better look and chance to take photos. There are often whales, dolphins and sea lions on this stretch. A brilliant half day out, definitely recommend if you have a few days in Punta Arenas to see the beautiful park and historic fort reconstruction.
The views of the nearby islands or mountains were the best. You can finish the tour in about 15 mins.
First of all Valeria, the tour operator was phenomenal at keeping in touch with us. Our cruise was 3 hours late to port and she sent texts and emails reassuring not to worry that she would wait for us. Once on board the tour, details on the city, fort, and surroundings were fantastic. Plenty of time was given for walks and photos, stopping along the way in extra spots along the way. I would highly recommend her and her company Vientos del Sur. They made us feel welcomed and added that personal touch.
Valeria, of local tour operator Vientos del Sur, spent a considerable amount of time in making it possible for us to take the tour. Then tour itself was interesting and covered the advertised itinerary. We recommend using Viator - Vientos del Sur, when in Punta Arenas, Chile.
They contacted and canceled the tour the night before the tour was supposed to start (at about 17:30). Nearly ruined everything since the next day was the last day I would be in Punta Arenas before moving to Torres del Paine. I understand schedules can change, however they could have informed me earlier so that I could try and find another agency. But they contacted me when all agencies, except for one, had been closed. I ended up doing the tour with this other agency (the only open one at that time), but since they only had it for private tours and didn't have any group tours, I ended up having to pay more more than twice than the viator price.
My group was the only one in the group, and the tour was fantastic. There are amazing views at the park, and the museum was very interesting. The guide was very king and knowledgeable, and the van was very clean. I would definitely recommend
Our guide was very friendly, very articulate, very informative, very knowledgeable. It was an excellent learning experience!!!
Knowledgeable and friendly guide. A good tour if you're interested in history. It is probably not the most exciting of tours.
It was a fun morning to lunch trip. The main thing for me was that it didn't indicate that the tour was going to be in Spanish only. I wouldn't have booked otherwise. I definitely would have appreciated it more if I knew how to speak Spanish or if the tour was also given in English.
Half-day trip to the reconstructed fortress from the 19th century - the first Chilean settlers, who met the natives. The history of the fortress is presented in one of the wooden houses, and nearby is a small museum with a cafeteria and a nice view. It was interesting to drive through the Strait of Magellan and see Tierra del Fuego in the distance. The trip is not tiring, we were lucky with the weather, it was mostly sunny and warm. It made for a pleasant day. The guide was kind and helpful.
The place is great but it is under construction so some os the building is closed. The guide was not in a very good mood unlikely to happen in a land with so many pleasant people.
Excursion, accepted, paid and tickets available - but trip cancelled the day before without reason. On request I received an excuse an a promise that a refund will be transferred
Nothing is REQUIRED....! Request might be answered next time. This is the reason some of your required reviews are ignored. Buenos Dia.
Excellent guide passed us to look for the Hotel super quiet and comfortable took us to my son and to me he explained along the way helped us with taking pictures and in the Fort we did the tour what is cultural you learn a lot and then gave us time to walk and there are options to walk fed up or little we took the 45 minute and was amazing the views the flora and fauna . Then back we go to the museum which is nice but as an advice the souvenirs are very expensive, so if you have option to go to the free zone they are very cheap and make you want to bring everything. Back we stopped at the entrance to the Fort and took pictures and left us at the hotel.....it was a very different and relaxing afternoon I recommend it 100% is magical
A atividade é ótima. A única coisa é que o horário que fomos, a tarde, foi muito corrido. Se eu soubesse iria por meios próprios e mais de vagar
A wonderful place to visit. The price-quality ratio of the ticket value is excellent. You must not miss the visit to Fort Bulnes and its extraordinary viewpoints and for no reason miss the VISITOR CENTER. It's a magical place, SURPRISING. It is made with love, creativity, innovation and all the adjectives you want to add. A cafeteria with an unimaginable view over the Strait is for running out of breath. See it with your own eyes!!!!!! PD: As a positive suggestion, the goal, where you pay your ticket should have a motivational video me photos
The place is beautiful and suggestive, but the trip here proposed is a theft nice and good. Two people for the same price, I rent a car two days and I have money left over. Also I had booked Guide in English, while he spoke only Spanish (for 10 minutes). Entrance fee separately. You're basically buying a to-from transfer. Might as well use Uber.
Silêncio, paisagem, os tempos livres oferecidos por parte do guia, sem no entanto deixar de explicar a historia.
Visita fuerte bulnes y su museo con paisajes increíbles y con un recorrido muy ageadable y entretenido
I returned to Punta Arenas after 35 years, during my adolescence the trip to Fuerte Bulnes was a classic, I loved it. Now with the Visitor Center, it is a tremendous walk, beautiful!! museum, cafeteria, bathrooms, souvenirs, trails to the beach, it is SPECTACULAR! We went in January, very windy. Go warm, hopefully a hat. Unmissable, you have to go!
Old fort that was rebuilt. Good explanations, also in the visitor center. Great and extremely friendly recommendations at the entrance. Were happy to accept the proposal to go the big circuit. Good signage, great viewpoints and explanations of vegetation. We didn't have a guide. You don't have to.
Tour the history of Punta Arenas and its fort. Beautiful natural landscapes, with forests with different trees and with caulk and with a wonderful view of the sea....
