The crew was great! Very friendly and answered all questions. The island is beautiful and so interesting to see how the penguins live.

Itinerary
Departing from Punta Arenas, we sail through the legendary Strait of Magellan, enjoying views of coastal landscapes, fishermen’s coves, and even a glimpse of Tierra del Fuego. Along the way, keep an eye out for seabirds and, with some luck, southern dolphins. After approximately two hours of navigation, we arrive at the Los Pingüinos Natural Monument, home to a colony of more than 120,000 Magellanic penguins, as well as sea lions and other native wildlife. Explore the island along marked trails leading from the shoreline to its highest point. Observe the penguins up close as they nest and interact in their natural habitat during their breeding and molting season. At the summit, visit the Environmental Interpretation Center and lighthouse. A short climb rewards visitors with panoramic views of Isla Magdalena and the surrounding waters, offering excellent photo opportunities and a chance to appreciate the beauty of Patagonia. This excursion operates from October through March, when the penguin colony is present on the island. Departures are subject to weather and sea conditions and may be cancelled if conditions are not suitable for navigation.

Cancelled and lied about the reason - basically cruise ship came in and sold out and dumped us all off for the cruise line!!!
Very efficient operation. No time wasted. The crew was very professional and knowledgeable. Learned a lot about Patagonia, the Pinguins and the Magellan passage. Strongly recommend.
The tour was well organized and friendly helpful excursion. Avoid a windy day if possible. Great to see the unique pilgrims!
After reading the reviews, we were hesitant in booking and worried that we would miss the checkin point; however the checkin details were correct with a giant sign indicating isle Magdalena penguins. One thing I will note is that it’s not a specific tour noted on the sign, but there are many guides able to help out. The tour guides themselves were amazing and very knowledgeable.
I was assured that I could go on this tour off the ship and return in time for boarding. After 5 different answers in port, it was concluded that we would not be back in time. I tried to cancel on that day and was told to call back because they could not bring up our booking. We contacted tour operator the day prior and was told where to meet and that everything was fine. Your policy says non-refundable, but we were told wrong information from your team and would like $330.76 refunded, and were extremely upset because this was to be the highlight of our trip.
As others said, it is very confusing to find this tour. Google directs you to one part of the port, but the pedestrian entrance is a block over. At that location, the only signs are for Fiordos del Sur, which is not a name that appears on the ticket (you just see Viator and Tangol) but it is actually correct, since FdS are the actual operator of the boat. The people who met us at the entrance to the port were unsure if we were in the right place. But once they were starting to check people in for the boat, our ticket worked just fine. The trip itself was great - an hour and a half ride through the desolate Strait of Magellan, where we got to see some seals and dolphins beside the boat, and then an hour on the island. There were penguins and other sea birds everywhere there. Since it was early summer (late December) all the different types of birds had their babies with them, and a few of the penguins were doing an amazing honking display. Even when it’s summer, be prepared for it to be chilly and rainy, but what do you expect when you are seeing penguins?
This was the strangest and most confusing/frustrating tour we have ever taken (and we've taken plenty of tours through Viator and TripAdvisor) except for seeing the penguins. The penguins were amazing and after getting on the boat it was cool. Except there was no ride back to the station as mentioned (but it's fine because it's like a 15 minute walk so the bus to the port was unnecessary anyway.) It was all just confusing and frustrating getting there and no one seemed to know anything--not even the bus driver. Read on for explanation: So first off, we didn't receive any information regarding the pick up situation other than the place and time to meet. We didn't know what kind of vehicle/bus we would be taking to the port to see the penguins, names of tour guides, what the bus looked like, nothing. And even after finally calling on the day of, it didn't seem like the person on the other end of the phone did either, which was concerning. We just knew to be at this bus station where there are several buses that run, but we figured that the bus would be obvious when it appeared at the agreed upon time and place. It wasn't. Two big buses did arrive, but it was from the generic bus company (almost seemed like a public bus). It didn't seem like a bus for the tour, so we almost didn't go on it. There was also no one from the tour company to announce that people with Tangol Tours should take this bus to get there. The bus drivers didn't even know the name(s) of the tour company. They just said if you're going to see penguins with any company get on this bus... It was chaos and everyone was confused, but got on the bus and hoped for the best. The bus ride was literally just for a few blocks. We literally could have walked and gotten to the port in maybe 15 minutes, so the bus was an unnecessary mess. Once we arrived there were tour guides that seemed flustered and confused. But we were all ushered to get on the boats to the island (Regardless of company). Again very confusing. It seems like maybe Tangol is a third party for the boat company that takes you to the island? Not sure, but it seems very pointless. Essentially, you just need a ticket to get on the boat and there you will find the tour guides that talks about the penguins and takes you to see them. Up until then it's just chaos and confusion. BUT! We did see penguins and they were spectacular and you get to see the babies pretty close (of course no touching them). So 5 stars for penguins 2 or maybe even 1 star for this tour company, and 3 or 4 stars for the tour guide on the boat. If you read all of this, I congratulate you haha.
The experience was incredible , BUT, there was no reason for us to meet at a bus stop, when our cruise ship was right next to the ferry that took us to the island. Also, the ferri was incredibly delayed simply bc folks were late and they decided to wait for them.
The organizer cancelled the excursion: bad weather!! We would have liked to visit the penguins!
I can definitely recommend the trip. We have seen a lot of penguins and different birds. The guides take their time and explain a lot about the region and the animals. We found the tour relatively expensive.
Great tour, the staff of the boat very friendly and explain very well from geographical and historical data, warned us that there was bad weather but still the tour was achieved, because it improved, we saw many magellanic penguins nesting.
Very good experience: very friendly team, good explanations, clean boat and very good level of security, extraordinary walk with the penguins
