About Activity
Enjoy a half-day navigation through the Strait of Magellan to Magdalena and Marta Islands, two of Patagonia’s most important wildlife sanctuaries.
After check-in, a shared transfer takes you from Punta Arenas to Bahía Laredo, where you board the vessel. The first stop is Magdalena Island, home to one of Chile’s largest Magellanic penguin colonies. During approximately one hour on the island, explore the protected area with your guide and observe thousands of penguins in their natural habitat.
Continue to Marta Island, where South American sea lions gather along the rocky shores. Depending on weather and sea conditions, you may also spot Imperial cormorants, southern gulls, Peale’s dolphins, Commerson’s dolphins, or even sei whales.
After the navigation, return to Punta Arenas by shared transfer.
