Great stay at Hotel José Antonio Puno* Loved the lake view room, the staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. I also had a massage and the therapist was very professional and kind. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Puno!

Unfortunately the room was dirty (other guests medication on the floor). Due to location it was difficult to eat out of the hotel. Unfortunately breakfast was very average. The major plus of this hotel are the amazing views.
Overall, the service and structure of the hotel are good; however, I can’t recommend the restaurant! Breakfast is okay, but trying to have dinner at the hotel was terrible. I ordered a pesto gnocchi, which came with exactly 15 individual gnocchis for 40 soles. I was bothered by the size and pricing of the dish, because while I waited a long time for my food, I saw the servers coming with big plates of food to other tables, and, when mine arrived, I was still hungry after finishing. After contesting our server about the size of the dish, they argued that the plate was an entrance and not a main dish, witch I contested by opening the menu and clearly showing them that it was under main courses. Even room service was not a good experience. I ordered vegetarian “sandwich”, which only came with a single slice of bread and a guacamole topping and a few chips (like 7 chips max). Another 40 soles gone. The stay is good, but I’d definitely recommend skipping the restaurant when you can. You can eat MUCH better and fair priced food ordering online from other businesses in town.
We stayed at Jose Antonio hotel for two nights. The views from this hotel over Lake Titicaca towards Puno is magnificent. The rooms are spacious and perhaps a bit too warm for my liking. The only drawback is that there is a very busy road infront of the hotel. If you sleep with the windows open, you hear the road noise. However, do not let that put you off. The location more than make up for this. In the evening the hotel makes nice fires for you to enjoy a nice cocktail and meal.
A first class experience situated overlooking the southern end of Lake Titicaca. The views from the hotel are breathtaking. I ate both nights at the hotel’s restaurant and the meals were very nicely cooked. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My room - on third floor - had a large shared balcony with outstanding views of the city and the lake. Most staff speak English and are friendly. Lorenz and Melanie are lovely waiters from the restaurant and Cinthya is excellent on reception. The only issue is that the hotel is a little isolated from the town of Puno but that could be a good thing for a quiet night.
