My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Brenda was very knowledgeable about each stop and the food we ate. She also added historical content about Puerto Vallarta along the way.

Experience and food were great! It went long but we took our time at the end. Brenda was an excellent guide. The city tour in addition to food was interesting and great to see.

This tour was exceptional! Erik was a fantastic tour guide. We visited 6 different small restaurants. The venues and food were authentic and delicious!

Erik , our guide was amazing ! He was so knowledgeable about the history of puerto Vallarta and the food scene! He also did a great job explaining the differences in all of the salsas that are made and how each one is in terms of heat. Walking around with him was great because all of the places that we stopped and a lot of locals recognized him and gave him some love with a hand shake or a holler that made me and my wife feel like we were in good hands. Another thing of note was the last stop he talked a little bit about some of the Mexican culture and explained some of the festivities that the food from the tour is cooked at. The last thing that I thought was very powerful was that Erik payed homage to one of the tour guides that passed away and that to me was very nice as a gesture and I am very happy with our our experience went. Thank you Erik and thank you Vallarta Food Tours you made the last day of our trip amazing ! Side note : Our group that was experienced this was very nice and I hope all of those people have a great rest of their trips and great lives!

Gio was a great guide! Friendly made sure to include everyone in the experience! Made sure to explain what we were experiencing , a background on the culture and history of the establishment.

Gio was an excellent guide. We stopped at 7 locations and tasted everything from chilaquiles to chocolate, from aguas frescas to tequila liquer.. Gio was extremely attentive to the group and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour.

We absolutely loved this food tour. Joana was amazing, very knowledgeable and proud of her city, she’s an inspiration. Each stop on the tour was tasty and fun. You get your money’s worth and more. Very informative, well organized and Yummie food tour of Puerto Vallarta! Joanne was very pleasant and informative. We got everything we were expecting: the real, local gastronomical delights of the region at 8 different spots: tacos, fish, tacquila, chocolate and coffee. And the portions were just right!

We had an amazing time! Al was the perfect guide, he was knowledgeable and let us know exactly what was going on. We enjoyed his calm and mature demeanor, he wasn't rushing us whatsoever. The food was amazing and the last stop at Gaby's left us wanting more!

Nine tastings sounded like a lot when I booked, and it was! This was my first food tour of the trip, with Miel, and I really enjoyed it. We started in the Zona Romántica and worked our way toward the Malecón, eating along the way. The hurricane had just passed the coast, and my boat tour that evening ended up getting cancelled. I was glad I'd booked something on land too. Miel was great and knew a ton about local history...so many great food stops!!!

Our trip with Al was awesome. We went to the best authentic places. Ate a variety of specialty tacos and finished the day with smooth tequila and delicious flan. Best food tour around. I highly recommend

What an absolutely spectacular experience! The food tour exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed an incredible variety of delicious food, fantastic drinks, and excellent service at every stop. Our tour guide, Al, was awesome! With over 35 years of experience, his knowledge, personality, and passion made the entire experience even better. Everything was so well organized, fun, and enjoyable from start to finish. Such a fantastic way to experience the local food scene. Highly recommend, especially if you get Al as your guide your tour guide.

This tour was amazing. Group was small. Tour guide-Joana was THE BEST. Come HUNGRY…. plenty of tastings to come on the trip. Walking in between tasting was good. Also finding niche places, family owned places added value to the trip.

We had a nice walking tour with Eddie. Every place where we ate had good food. My favorite was the meeting spot - Marisco El Guero. Number 2 favorite was La Tia Mariscos. I recommend this taco tour - a great variety!

What a fun day with Joana as our guide! We learned a lot and tried some really great tastes! We enjoyed all of the places we went and learning the history of the restaurants and the families that own them. The tastings were interesting, some we loved, a few were not to my taste, but I can be picky and the rest of the group seemed to enjoy everything.

The very best food tour. Brenda was an excellent guide, describing each food type, the origin and the ingredients in dishes. I would highly recommend it, a great 3 1/2 hours!!

We’ve been to PV many times and have been absolutely sleeping on these hidden gems. Delicious food and great small family owned restaurants that we would have never found on our own. Al knew the history and the people so well. I was apprehensive that it was a walking tour, because I’ve done walking tours before that I did not enjoy, but the walk was lovely with lots to see and not too far. It was fine to do in sandals. Bring cash for drinks and if you want to get extra treats for later, because the smaller places don’t take cards. I would 10/10 recommend this tour!

Our tour with Silvia exceeded our expectations! We travel quite a bit and enjoy food tours as a way to learn more about the food and culture, while getting oriented to an area, and trying bites from various restaurants. This tour was well paced, the food was great, and Silvia really enhanced the experience with her recommendations on how to eat the various tacos. The stop at the small tortilla factory was a nice surprise, and the hot fresh tortilla with a pinch of salt on it was SO good! I messaged the tour operator before going on the tour that I need to eat gluten free and they were responsive and very accommodating! We ate a lot, the tacos were varied, and we learned more about the various salsas. Our group was small- just four in total, (2 couples) which made for easy conversation and opportunities to ask questions. I highly recommend this tour, and encourage it early in your visit if you are staying for more than a day or 2.

Found some places to revisit during our stay. Local places that would not have not been our radar. Not the typical “tourist” stops. Tastings were delicious. Good value for the $$. Easy unhurried walk.

This was a fun food tour and Al was great! All the places were family owned and been around from 30-50 years!

We have toured with this company many times. Each time seems a little better. Today’s tour was absolute perfection. Our guide, Silvia, was charming and knowledgeable. Her English was perfect and she went at a relaxed pace that was on point for our six family members aged 50 to 64. Every taco on the Taco tour was a delicious surprise and the aqua frescas kept us from succumbing to the humidity. Go on this tour and give your tour guide a fat tip because they earn it.

We had a great time and our guide Al was fantastic. He provided lots of interesting information along the way. The food was all really good. It was great to go to local spots and have someone take us around the town. Great time.

If you are considering a food tour in puerto Vallarta you’d be a fool to not do this one! Excellent experience, all the restaurants were delicious and Joana was a great tour guide.

We had an excellent food tour by Brenda. We went to 8 different restaurants and ate way too much great food. The restaurants were all long time family restaurants. She would tell us about each one and explain the different heat levels. She could explain a lot of the history of Old Town PV. It was a great sampling of PV dishes.

Outstanding! Thank you so much Joanna! This is the best way to get to know Puerta Vallarta. Joanna is excellent and answered all of our questions. The food locations are excellent and I love the list of the restaurant's provided at the end so you can return for your own stumble tour later. Joanna also pointed out landmarks like the homes of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton. This is not just a food tour but a walking tour of Old Town Puerta Vallarta. With approximately 8-9 restaurants in 3.5 hours of walking around, the mix is perfect and I did not feel stuffed or tired at the end. We ended near the flea market for some souvenir shopping which my wife really appreciates.This is a great orientation for a lovely City run by pros. Would recommend it to anyone visiting be it first time or otherwise. Great reason to get out of the resort and fall in love with Vallarta!

Joana was an awesome tour guide! We were prepared to be fed and we were not disappointed! I believe we had about 10 stops for food and drinks and all were portions you were almost struggling to eat. By stop 5, I think we all wondered if we were going to make it to the end, but the food was so good, you just needed “one more bite.” You get your steps in, you get some local history, and you eat well along the way. In the August heat of PV, pack a fan and dress accordingly, but the team at the restaurants worked hard to make sure everyone was as comfortable as possible. Truly a worthwhile experience.
