Our guide was Gustav. And he was excellent. He is a wealth of information about Mexico’s history in a particularly the history of Vallarta. The dishes were excellent. Would highly recommend.

Tour was fantastic. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the different restaurants and also about the history of the area.
Great guide, awesome restaurants, wonderful experience!! Would go back and do this exact tour again when in PV. Highly recommend.
Really great evening. Terrific taste treats. Worth every penny.. Gustavo was the best guide; friendly, informative, and fun. Loved this tour.
A wonderful experience! Our guide Gustavo was charming, and well informed- not only about the restaurant scene, but also local history, architecture and culture. We plan to return to some of the new to us restaurants that we visited. Highly recommended!
Gustavo is a fantastic guide with abundant local knowledge. Each stop was flavorful and unique. I recommend being hungry.
My husband and I had a great time on this tour. We visited four restaurants, each very different from the others. The first was a tiny "hole in the wall" with Argentinian and Italian food - not a combination I expected, but every thing was delicious, including the wine from Argentina. Next was a chile relleno and a very classic Caesar salad in a restaurant that showed slides from old PV on the wall across the street - a bit of history with our food! Next a very modern and creative Mezcal place on the Malecon with superb ceviche, Mezcal drinks and a great taco. Finally, flaming bananas and flan at the River Cafe. Gustavo, our guide, was full of great stories about the food, this terrific city and some of his own experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, and recommend it (and him!) highly...
The progressive dinner was excellent. The food was great — although, way too much. The drinks were great. We got a good cross section of Mexican food. Our guide, KaitlIn, was helpful, knowledgeable, informative, and a true pleasure to be with. Overall — a great experience.
100% recommend this tour. It was a fun way to sample new restaurants and to learn about their city and its food traditions. Gustavo, our guide, was fun and charming.
Five stars of fun! Five stars of delicious food. The restaurants were beautiful, clean and welcoming. These restaurant tours of small groups, only four of us in our tour, are excellent. Our guide Gustavo was not only a food guide but a history guide as he lead us through the beautiful streets of PV to our next meal. Arrive with an appetite as the delicious dishes just keep on coming! Wine & cocktail pairing. Can I say again 5 stars!
This was our first dinner tour in puerto Vallarta. We had a great time. There were about 10 of us and we visited 4 different spots. All were within a km or so of each other. The four restaurants were all very different and each restaurant had two items to eat. All the food was very tasty and our hostess and guide Katelin was great. We also enjoyed a cocktail at each restaurant. I went with my father and he loved socializing with everyone and enjoying different food. A great time.
This was our first experience enjoying a walking dinner tour. Our hostess Katelin was phenomenal and was very personable. The food stops were well selected and the food and cocktails were good. It was a good duration - 3.5 hours or so.
We have taken this tour multiple times with different friends visiting PV. It’s a great way to see the city as well as excellent food and drinks. The tour guides are always knowledgeable, friendly, fun and helpful. Highly recommend!!
Wow! One of the best food tours! Wonderful food at every restaurant. Gustavo was a great tour guide. Never hurried us and stopped to watch a religious parade we came across by accident. Great time!
Fabulous! So much food and variety. I was full by the 3rd restaurant! Gustavo was our wonderful guide. Not only did he share his knowdge of the history of the area and intoduced the food to us, he helped us find an (non existent) a cab on Halloween night. It was very difficult to find one and he stayed with us and negotiated a price for the cab. Super nice and very professional! Don't miss this tour. It was well worth it.
Excellent food tour of Puerto Vallarta with Steven! The very plentiful food was delicious, flavorful and restaurants we may not have found on our own! He was a great source of information on the food scene, history of Puerto Vallarta and current culture. It was a wonderful evening! Highly recommend!
The whole experience was amazing. Steven and Gustavo were our guides. The best part is getting to know the city and learn about the people and town of Puerto Vallarta. This tour is perfect for families and friends alike. There is a bit of walking, but it’s perfect for all the food you end up eating. Gotta walk it off. Plus, you get to see shops and more with the guides. Every single appetizer, meal, and drink was excellent. I would absolutely do it again. Thank you for a great time Steven and Gustavo!
This was our sixth Vallarta Eats tour and each one gets better and more unique! We met our tour guide, Charlie, at Layla's restaurant for our first course and we were then off on our adventure. We went to four restaurants, all different styles, and met with each chef or owner to learn more about their inspiration and special place in the PVR food scene. Charlie is an expert and shared some great insight about PVR overall, as well as the specific food we enjoyed on the tour. We highly recommend the tour and can't wait to do it again on our next visit.
Just incredible! We did this progressive dinner for with Katelin and she is just amazing! We had her all to ourselves for 4 hours. The restaurants are VERY well curated, and the hosts are VERY enthusiastic about presenting their courses and cocktails. 4 venues and each provide two courses and one craft cocktail. We were greeted by the owner at the first restaurant, the chef prepared a dish tableside at the second, and the manager at the third gave us his constant attention. The final course, dessert, included a dramatic tablesode preparation. Katelin is a delight, she knows apparently everything about the PV food scene. Restaurants are classic and fusion and the dishes are traditional to fusion. (Lineup changes so i won't leave details). Book this tour ASAP as it is only done a couple of times per week. You will want to revisit these spots, and katelin can rattle off dozens of recommendations all over the city. (We had another fantastic meal at Laylas as out final meal in pv). Will definitely do more tours on our next visit.
Tour took us on a nice walk from the Malecon to the Rio Cuale island. The food tastings were generous, delicious and well plated. Highlights include the bean soup at Layla’s, chile rellenos at Gaby’s, duck croquettes at Savante, and a showy banana flambé at River Cafe. Lots of food so pace yourself! More consideration needs to be given for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverage choices.
What a great time; wife and I with a small group. Started at Layla's for a few great dishes, especially the Chicken in Habanero salsa. Very smokie. Then to Savante for a very upscale small plate tasting, a great modern ambiance to boot. Off to El Bodegon de Pastas for an Agrtine/Itlian experience. A very local place that makes fresh pasta, very tasty! Finally River Cafe for Bananas Flambe. We must have walked by his place 10 times in the past few years. Great local and very pretty. This was our first Food tour and was very much enjoyed!
We were 4 women on a holiday in Puerta Vallarta and could not have asked for a better evening. Kaitlin was fabulous, she was knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. All of the restaurants were lovely and the cocktails and food were very enjoyable. Thank you for a great time.
Oh my goodness Vallarta has good food but it’s great food once you get out of the tourist loop. Places you would never even find but now will go there again on your own. So fun, so much food and drinks too. Kaitlyn is just great, sweet and cute and what a personality, she adds so much to the enjoyment of the whole evening. This is a must and I’ll do it again.
This is an excellent tour. We went to four very different restaurants. We sampled multiple dishes at each restaurants. One drink at each restaurant with the option to purchase others. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable.
My wife and I loved this tour! It is a must do if you have any foodie inclinations and want something a little different than what you might see at your resort. Katelyn was great to tour with and was very respectful of my picky palate!
Fantastic food and drinks, you better come hungry. I'd recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip because you're going to want to go back to the restaurants for more. Tour guide was great and gave alot of history and information about the area. Tour lasted about 4.5 hours and did involve some walking.
This tour surpassed my expectations. We went to restaurants that were a bit off the touristy areas which I love. The dishes and drinks were delicious. There was even live music at Ok Jose which was a treat. Katelin was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. It was like hanging out with a good friend. She definitely put the experience over the top. My favorite was a corn fermented drink. Can't remember the name but would definitely have it again. Thank you Katelin - we had a blast!
Guide was drinking alcohol at various stops and talking about herself and her medical problems instead of the food and sights of the city
The tour was amazing and we will definitely do it the next time we visit. They have a couple of different tours which I wasn’t aware of from the details on Trip Advisor. So you may want to call to find out about the various tours. Our tour guide Paz was delightful giving us the history on each restaurant along with details on each course. We went to 4 different restaurants having 2-3 signature dishes paired with the restaurant’s signature cocktail. The exciting part was tasting food I wouldn’t have ever ordered myself to experiencing known dishes like Cesar salad, each time being blown away by the flavor and textures. Highly recommend taking the tour, make sure to ask for Paz (that is her name), then get ready for a gastric experience you won’t soon forget.
Fernanda was our fabulous tour guide, and she was fun, knowledgeable and a great guide! We stopped at four delicious and different restaurants and got yummy food and cocktails. We went the second day of our trip, which was perfect, because we were introduced to neighborhoods we otherwise would not have seen. Fernanda also gave us other restaurant recommendations, which we happily used the remainder of our vacation. I highly recommend this food tour, and look forward to going back. Thank you!
Paz was our Tour guides and did an outstanding Job! Extremely knowledgeable and showed us parts of town we have never been, Strongly recommend! Bob and Jamie
The tour was EXCELLENT. There were four stops each with plenty of delicious food and drinks. Best dish was the Chile en Engoda at Ok José. We went back the next day. I was disappointed that the food we tasted at Layla’s was not offered on their regular menu. The bonus of this tour is meeting our wonderful guide Fernanda. She was fluent in English, friendly, knowledgable and just fun to be around. I highly recommend this tour well worth the cost. When they said to come hungry they really meant it. We had 7 dishes and a dessert, some are a full meal.
Paz was our guide and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. We had such a great time walking the city and hearing about the different restaurants. The food was amazing. We tried so many different things and at each stop Paz knew the history of the food and the location. This was our first food tour ever and we are hooked and will definitely do it again and again. It is worth the time and money.
Fervor’s was the most excellent guide. She was so personable and knowledgeable of the food scene in Puerto Vallarta! Kayla’s and Gaby’s were amazing! Food was super creative and delicious. Ambiance was fabulous and authentic! Highly recommend!
Vincent was our guide and he was wonderful!!! He was so knowledgable about the food, history of the restaurants and owners, and very fun to spend time with. We went on the seafood tour and loved every restaurant we visited. We would highly recommend going on this tour and will go on it again.
I took the dinner tour with my boyfriend & his family and everyone loved it. We got ample food and had a cocktail at all four stops. The restaurants we went to were all cute inside/outside and the food was very good as well. (My favorite stop was De Cantaro. The cocktails and mole were 10/10.) I'd also like to add that our tour guide was Paz and she was fantastic. The food was good, but she made the experience that much better. She even gave us tips for other places to eat when we visited Sayulita as well. We loved this tour!
Participated on this progressive walking food tour in early April. This was an outstanding experience. Away from the typical Mexican fare, our guide Paz took us on a culinary excursion of Puerto Vallarta, sampling local, gourmet cuisine and cocktails; all dishes sampled were well presented and delicious! The restaurant selection was well thought of, generally quaint, family run establishments. Food was diversified and service was good. The scene in Puerto Vallarta is vibrant and engaging; this tour makes for a lovely evening activity. Well worth the cost and Paz was an absolute gem; she was great fun and provided historical and culinary descriptions of the samples we were tasting. I will definitely revisit and perhaps try another Tasting Vallarta Tour,,,,
Enjoyed 4 different places I would not have found on my own. Owner was present at all of them. Great dishes, no tacos. Plenty of good, at the end we were very full. This is more gourmet experience in my opinion. Loved our guide, she was great and very helpful with information.
A fantastic tour! Paz, our guide was equally great! Tasting high-end versions of local cuisine and sampling spicy cocktails in long-time established restaurants was the experience I was looking for. 'Tasting Vallarta' did not disappoint. Tucked away down side streets and up several flights of stairs (in one case lol) we enjoyed very private presentations, great views, unique and delicious appetizers & main dishes. I would return to each and every one of these eateries. Upon our return in 2023, I will definitely book another tour with Vallarta Eats. It's one adventure I wouldn't want my family to miss!
The absolute best food tour I have ever done. Eric, the owner, went to all lengths to make sure we had the best experience ever! The restaurants were obviously chosen for their great food and the spectacular ambiance. Paz, our guide, had a nice quality of giving us information but still allowing us to chat and enjoy our evening with friends. The best line of the night “Eric is a puppy dog in a human suit” ♥️ Thank you! Thank you! Thank!
Our guide Paz was excellent. She was informative as well as friendly and upbeat about all the restaurants we visited. Would definitely ask for her again as a tour guide if that was possible. The restaurants that we visited had marvelous food samplers. We were not disappointed!!
Our guide was well informed, fun & knew her way around the neighborhoods. Food was delicious & not the usual Mexican fare
We had a lovely experience with Paz as our guide! We visited four restaurants- Ok José being our favorite - how incredibly eclectic and the food amazing. Everything there had a bit of a performance it it - I’d like to bag and sell the croutons with the delectable, from scratch made table side Caesar salad!! All restaurants were accommodating to a food allergy although one fell short in a couple of areas. It wasn’t our favorite of the four, and I can’t recall it’s name, but it’s drinks were good, location great and ambience appealing enough to try it again. We had fun and would recommend!
We *LOVED* the gourmet Vallarta food tour with our wonderful host and guide Paz. Not only did we enjoy incredible bites and sips at some of the most creative spots around town, but we were also introduced to the restaurant owners and even serenaded by one of them who had a group of mariachis at the restaurant that night. A perfect introduction to PV and the fabulous food scene there.
Our small group ended up with just my husband and I. At first we were a bit bummed, but then we realized we had Paz to ourselves - she was our personal guide. We had such a good time, she was wonderful and the food was excellent. We highly recommend this tour and hopefully you will get Paz as your guide.
Paz was wondering guide. She was energetic and made it fun. We went to places we wouldn’t have found by ourselves Had food an drinks that we wouldn’t have known about. Tons food. Would highly recommend
Absolutely loved this! Kaitlin was a wonderful knowledgeable guide. A must do! Plan to do at beginning of your stay so you can revisit the restaurants you like!
What a great way to start our vacation in Puerto Vallarta! We literally got off the plane, checked in at the hotel and joined the tour. Paz was a wonderful guide who took us to four great restaurants that we never would have found on our own. All of the drinks and dishes were great. I highly recommend this tour. It was also nice to do it at the start of our trip so we can go back to some of the restaurants we went to.
We ended getting a private tour since the other people joining in the tour couldn't make it and it was awesome! Our tour guide Kaitlin went above and beyond and it was truly a memorable experience. Each food place was amazing and the people were even nicer. Cant wait to visit again and try another one of their tours.
What a great way to see Vallarta! We ate at 4 different restaurants with Caitlin as our guide. She made sure that our lactose and gluten free guest was taken care of and described the history behind the dishes or drinks. The young adults and parents both had a great time. With 2-3 fishes at each stop if you didn’t care for a fish it was no big deal, we were happy to be trying new flavors. The evening ended on the Malacon which made for a festive end to the evening!
