We had the best food and guides on our Vallarta Eats Food Tours with Tacos After Dark. The food was amazing, and the guides (Karla and Mario) were so kind and knowledgeable.

We had an amazing experience tasting a variety of delicious, local foods. Karla and Mario were fantastic guides, and they taught us a lot about each dish and the history behind them. A wonderful experience in a wonderful city!
Gustavo was awesome - very knowledgeable and a great host. Each of the eight tacos we had were amazing. Highly recommend.
This tour is MUST DO at the BEGINNING of your trip! We’ve come to PV 4 times and never done this until now…we should’ve done it the first time! This tour will take you to taco stands not only with the most incredible tacos you’ll ever have but with history in the community. If you’re looking for amazing food that only locals know about this is your tour!
Kevin did a fine job of providing background info on the stops of the tour. He answered our questions, helped us choose the tacos he thought we would like and also encouraged us to try new things. Thanks, Kevin!
Excellent experience. Roberto was beyond fabulous.
You walk a lot but that’s why it’s called a walking taco tour. The food is amazing and our guide Gustavo was awesome. It was great to learn more about the city as we walked around to 5 different taco places to eat. Definitely come hungry
This was an amazing Taco Tour. Karla was absolutely amazing. She was super responsive ahead of time. They accommodated for one vegan person and one person with allergies. All of the stops were authentic and delicious. We had a variety of Mexican staple foods at each stop including beverages. It was absolutely delicious and so much fun. A great way to explore the town and its cuisine. Karla was super fun and remembered all of our 15 names the entire night, and ensured we were having the best time. She got us to-go cups for our beverages at each stop too. We were full by the end of it and for such great value. Highly recommend!!
Alberto was the best! Every taco was incredible & learning about puerto’s history was a great added bonus!
Fantastic walking tour of small family owned restaurants and taco carts throughout the romantic zone
Great experience on the after dark taco tour! First time to the area but didn’t know where to go - this was a fantastic way to get out into puerto Vallarta. I brought along my mom in her mid 60s. So much delicious food! The guide Berto was fabulous as well. There was nothing that didn’t taste good! Everything was delicious. Thank you so much for sharing these places with us!
We had an amazing time and some delicious tacos . Roberto was our guide and he was amazing showing us around town.
This was our second time doing a taco tour with Vallarta Eats, and it was just as fantastic as the first. We had an amazing time sampling a wide variety of tacos while learning about the history and culture behind many of the dishes. Our guide, Roberto, is a true foodie, and his passion really elevated the experience. He shared great insights about the food and the local area, making the tour both fun and informative. We’re already looking forward to coming back again next year!
Alberto was awesome! We went to some great street taco stands. Go hungry!!
Our tour guide was so amazing! All of the food was incredible and we had so much fun! Can’t recommend enough!
We did the taco at night tour with our 14 and 17 year old. We had a fantastic time. Berto was a great guide who shared local knowledge and history of the area. Each spot we stopped at was amazing. We cant say enough good things about this tour. Highly recommend!
My two girlfriends and I had a great time on our Tacos after Dark tour with Gustavo! He was a fantastic guide with seemingly infinite fun facts about Puerto Vallarta, and we had a hard time choosing which taco stop was our favorite at the end of the night! Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta.
We had a fantastic time with Gustavo! He took us to lots of great taco places we would never have found on our own. We sampled many different kinds of tacos, learned a lot about Mexican food and about the city of Puerto Vallarta and its history. So much fun!
We were here 15 years ago for one of the first tours and back again in 2026. We’ve now done both tours, day and night and we highly recommend both. Our tour guide Gustavo was amazing as he took us all over town giving us great insight to the town’s history while eating some great authentic tacos along the way.
Such a GREAT excursion for foodies! Kevin was our tour guide - and outstanding! He is very knowledgeable about this history of Mexican food, as well as the owners of each stop (and other food carts and restaurants). We visited and tasted-our-way-through 5 local street-food stands/open-air restaurants. It was hard to choose a favorite taco, since each place had its unique food specialty. Our last stop was at a traditional Mexican, homemade "ice cream" shop with an incredible choice of frozen "popsicles", "ice cream bars", or frozen chocolate/decorated chocolate bananas. (The coconut ice bar was phenomenal and not overly sweet.) We were appreciative that Kevin honored our reservation (for 2), since many cancelled (usually a group of 8-10) due to the recent and brief violence throughout Mexico. OF NOTE, Mexico is quite safe - especially in the areas where there are tourists. We have never felt unsafe, as 2 women traveling separately or together through Mexico.
I always do a food tour of some type at the start of every trip, and this one was an excellent choice! Alberto was such a good guide, and the stops chosen were perfect. A good variety, you learn a lot about Zona Romantica, and you get plenty of bang for your buck. My partner and I revisited a lot of the places we went to on the tour during the remainder of our trip. It is a lot of food and a decent amount of walking, but isn't that literally what you're signing up for? HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We did the Tacos After Dark Tour with Karla, with a K! She was amazing and you can tell she loves this city and her job. She was so happy and upbeat. The tour took you to places around the city you would probably not even see if you do mot take this tour. You will be missing out! It was a great way to fall in love with PV and its people. All of the tacos were so tasty! Make sure you come with an empty belly! Thanks again Karla for the magical night and sharing your love for PV and the food! ❤️
Gustavo was very informative and food carts offered very tasty tacos. Was almost too much food. Would gladly do the tour again.
Enjoyable evening tasting local fare and getting to know Puerto Vallarta a little better. Karla was an excellent guide. She knew all the vendors well and shared lots of regional history. The Governor’s Taco at the first stop was the best taco of my life! The others were good to great, but that first one was fantastic! As is true on most food tours, we all felt too full by the time we got to the final stop, but that didn’t stop any of us from enjoying an ice cream treat. Our group of 4 mature adults all agreed this was a fun way to spend an evening and we recommend it to others.
Guide Karla is amazing! Gave lots of good information and very enthusiastic. Ate amazing food and tried loads of aqua fresca
Delicious food! They partner with many taco places so if you go two times it would be different. Each taco was unique and you end with ice cream!
Roberto is a great guide. Things I loved were the variety of places, variety of taco styles, getting off the beaten path, trying things I would not usually try, viewing the tortilla factory, and finishing with fresh made ice cream/popsicles! In fact I’m about to go back for another popsicle today 😃. Tons of food so don’t eat before you go. These are not bites, it’s 1 or 2 whole tacos at each stop. Options for beer or margaritas too. Bathrooms too.
Kevin took good care of the group tacos were excellent!
First time in PV in over 15 years. We typically don’t eat much street food, especially in Mexico, but I thought if we did, we should do it with a guided tour to be safe, and help pick the best and safest places to eat. Our guide Gustavo was friendly and very knowledgeable having lived here for over 25 years. In addition to taking us to some great taco stands, we learned a good bit about the history of PV - an added bonus! We stopped at 5 taco stands/ restaurants and each had their own specialty: seafood, beef, pork, chorizos etc. They were all very good, with the seafood being the best, so much so we went back a few nights later for an encore. We met some very nice other couples and really the only complaint, was there was toooo much food. Out of 8, almost everyone skipped one or more tacos at the end. But of course no one refused the ice cream at the end :). Very Well organized and a great way to experience food and history at the same time. Highly recommend.
Kevin was a great guide. Throughout the tour he informed us about the many neighborhoods and orgins of the different stands we went to. This tour is a great way to start your visit and familiarize yourself with the area. We did the evening tour which is also a great way to get out and see what the night life looks like. During the tour you even get a chance to be a little more adventurous with your taco pallet. Do it! Thank you Kevin!!
Kevin was amazing! Come hungry. Leave overly full. 7 stops, 9 tacos plus ice cream. Would recommend time and time again.
A wonderful evening exploring the taco stands in PV. Alberto was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable on the area and the food. All the tacos (so many) were awesome. No shortage of food. A great evening!!! Bob, Joanne, Karen and Wil
You will be walking through some less than ideal neighborhood conditions at times. They were safe, but filthy. They tried to serve you WAY more food than could be comfortably eaten during the evening. Half the portion sizes would have been great. Good was very good, just way too much.
It’s was an excellent experience and our guide Kevin was fantastic. The food was spectacular and the whole event was well organized and super fun. I will recommend the tour to all our friends.
Had a great time. The guide made us feel welcome and the food was amazing. They also worked in some photos of couples so we can have the memories but stiff focus on the food. Will probably book another one of their tours.
Really enjoyed this taco tour. We were all super super full! Definitely worth the money. The guide Kevin was really nice. And I LOVED the first taco stand👌🏾
Vallarta Eats Food Tours “Tacos After Dark” was a blast! Our Tour guide Berto was a knowledgeable local who told great stories about PV and the neighborhood we traveled. Go hungry. The food was amazing and so was Berto! Thank you.
We hab a fantastic time on out taco tour! The food was great. But the best part was Alberto. He was amazing and educated us as well as entertained us. 10 out of 10!!
Did and evening taco tour and had so much fun. Every taco was delicious and our guide Alberto was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and made the experience so great for our family. Definitely recommend.
The Vallarta Eats tour is a great experience for anybody wanting to know about Puerto Vallarta and the food here. Our guide Alberto was very informative and it was a fun time. My family really enjoyed it
I highly recommend this tour, it was full of great food, fun connections, and history of PV! Alberto was the best guide - he was professional, knowledgeable, fun, and kind! Dont miss out - definitely worth it!
Alberto was the absolute best!! He’s a native/local who knows the neighborhood and the history of each establishment we visited. He also lived in the US for 10 years so if we didn’t know the right words in Spanish, he knew it in English which helps so much when you’re a tourist! He gave us his tips for what he looks for when picking a place to eat (again, super helpful when you’re a tourist looking for local flare), knows all the locals and says hi to everyone! He is genuinely just a kind person. Couldn’t have had a better experience. Gracias Alberto and Vallarta Eats!
This was an amazing tour from start to finish. Our guide was born and raised here in Puerto Vallarta and he added so much local information to our tour. He took so many great pictures and kept the pace slow enough for us slower walkers. The food was great and he explained the back story for every location.
This was a great tour! Our guide had grown up here so shared a lot of personal experiences with Puerto Vallarta downtown! The only downside was walking after dark on very uneven sidewalks. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend!
Highly recommend the taco tour with Eric. He was an exceptional tour guide and we ate so much food! Come hungry. He accommodated our allergies and preferences as well as introduced the group to new types of beverages and food. I have nothing bad to say about it.
Gustavo gave us a great introduction to multiple taco options in the Zona Romantica including a couple of variations on the classic Al Pastor tacos, and my favorite, Gobernor tacos. A couple of the stops were outdoor taco stands, and it was interesting to watch them prepare the food. Gustavo carefully explained what would be on each taco and we had the option of opting out of any accompaniments we didn't want. We also sampled many varieties of agua fresca which were refreshing and delicious. Gustavo also shared some history of PV, showed us a tortilla factory, and told some great stories from his own life as well. We topped off the evening with a stop at an ice cream shop. Gustavo took photos (one attached to this review) and sent us a link to download the photos. That was a nice touch and gave us a permanent reminder of the experience. Super added bonus: after the tour we walked to the main cathedral where there is an annual multi-day pilgrimage, to watch the procession, and Gustavo happened to spot us and invited us up a flight of stairs to the balcony of the company office, where we got a great view!
Alberto was an amazing, very personable guide— i would highly recommend a taco tour with him. We tried some great taco restaurants that we normally wouldn’t know about.
It was our second taco tasting inPV. Definitely the best guide, Gus was so interesting, personable, and knowledgeable. He made the evening more enjoyable. All of the stops had tasty tacos, with the potatoes the most interesting but the cheeks the most delicious of the evening.
Cannot recommend this tour enough. Our host Jenny was so delightful, engaging and knowledgeable. We had 8 different tacos, all different styles (and all delicious) along with an Elote (street corn) and a dessert (spoiler: it's ice cream). It was so much food. I am from Los Angeles, and am very familiar with many varieties of tacos and still came out learning a lot. This is great way to learn the city and find some spots that you probably wouldn't try on your own. The tour takes place mostly in the Centro/Zona Romantica area. I suggest taking this tour early in your trip, so you can get a good lay of the land and, as a bonus, you can return to some of your favorite spots. We did! Do this tour. Your stomach and your heart will thank you!
We really enjoyed hearing from Gustavo about some of the history of PV as well as all of the descriptions of the tacos we tried and the locations we stopped at to enjoy our tacos! Fun tour and just the right amount of walking. Fun to see new areas we had not explored yet. Gustavo was very knowledgable and friendly and made our tour the best! Thank you Gustavo! Highly recommend!
