I don't think I've ever seen that much salsa in one evening. Manuel took us out for tacos, and the food just kept coming. I'd had beach plans that day, but those fell through, so this ended up being my evening out. No complaints about spending it eating! There was seafood as well as tacos, and everything was amazing! Definitely don't have a big lunch before this one. I did several food tours during my stay and was still full the following morning more than once. These portions aren't just a bite to taste.

Really nice tour. The food was great, and the history lesson was an unexpected benefit. The tour guide definitely knew her stuff. I really liked the small, intimate group size. Definitely a great way to check out the area.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. Manuel was an incredible guide, explaining each dish and answering any questions we had. Everything we ate was so good and we left stuffed. Absolutely recommend doing this tour!
Eddy the guide was very informative. Lots of tacos to try! A good variety of tastes. Be hungry before you start!
It’s an excellent tour! Manu was a very knowledgeable and engaging guide. We didn’t go to places that “every other tour” takes you to, he led us around to restaurants and hole in the wall places serving up some amazing food! If you have a choice of food tours while you’re here, definitely choose this one. And definitely get the drink package!!!
I will start off by saying I have been on food tours around the world. Miel was our tour guide for this tour and she is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the food we tried on her tour. She is the best guide we have ever had on any food tour. This is the food tour you need to do in Puerto Vallarta. The history she provides is very interesting and informative. All of the food was incredible. By the end of the tour, I was completely full so come hungry and get ready for a great time!
We had the BEST TIME on this tour. It is well worth the money spent! What a great variety of tacos plus margaritas plus chocolate plus the tastiest churros I've ever had. All of the tacos were truly delicious and we were treated like VIPs at each stop! Our tour guide Maho was one of a kind. He is super knowledgeable about the food, restaurants and the city. We really enjoyed our time with him. Book this tour!
Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. She provided us with details both about the cuisine and about the cultural history of each cuisine. I left feeling that I can't knowledge and also had my appetite satisfied.
Eric was great. Great local perspective and the tacos were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend
my partner and I had a blast getting some delicious tacos and exploring the town with Maho! It was the perfect amount of walking to food ratio but cannot stress enough to come hungry! I'm still drooling over the thought of some of the tacos we had, we even had some churros, and ending at El Tasting Room was really the cherry on top. It was fun to do this as a group as well, cannot recommend enough!
We met at first tasting location with only 4 of us in tour. Our guide- Maho arrived on time & made introductions. What an evening! Great food, laughs & amazing company. Truly a must do.
Such a great experience. Best tacos ever. Don’t eat before cuz you will get a lot of tacos!! Local restaurants and street vendors were the theme of this tour. Maho was a very knowledgeable and did a great job of showing us around. This is our second tour and both have been great. I recommend this tour to anyone. You will love it.
Had the most amazing tour with our guide, Maho was amazing! We’ve taken tours before from the same company and we have the most amazing memories and times! Maho was the best. Made our experience so unique and memorable! He is hilarious, fun and knowledgeable!
It was great, hurry up and book it! Similar to many food and tequila tours, as most go to the same locations. However, there are different items ordered during most tours. -Makes ya wonder if those business have some skin in the game lol. What really made the tour great was the host. Thank you very much!
Four of us did the evening tour with Maho and were absolutely delighted. The food was excellent, but Maho’s commentary, charm and friendliness took the tour from “good” to “great”. We learned a lot about tacos, sauces and Puerto Vallarta. Time flew by A great way to start a vacation.
We had a great time. We stopped at 7 different places. Six tacos and one churro stand. Our guide Marho (Sp) who is a teacher was knowledgeable about the food we were having as well as the area and the history. The fried tuna tacos were surprised me how delicious they were, the volcano tacos were superb!
This is a walking experience that does travel over the streets and walkways of Puerto Vallarta. Some sidewalks are uneven. This was a very good touur that included a lot of food and great history of the taco, chocolate and the churro. Our guide was very informative and friendly. You receive a great variety of tacos meat, fish seafood and they were able to adjust to a request of no shrimp on the fly.
Bernardo was amazing! He has a great sense of humor and is incredibly knowledgeable about the town and its history. It felt like he carefully selected some of his favorite spots, because we enjoyed fantastic tacos throughout the evening. The churros were a highlight, and ending the night with tequila was the perfect touch. I would absolutely do this again with Bernardo as our guide!
This is my 3rd experience with Vallarta Food Tours, and it certainly won't be my last. Joana our guide was just as amazing as all the food we had! When you go on one of their tours, make sure you go hungry!!
Amazing experience! Miel was one of the most knowledgeable and passion food guides I’ve had in the 15 years I’ve been traveling to PV. Her stories were so authentic and gave us a wonderful glimpse of history. The stops we visited were delicious and authentic. Had a little extra adventure with the bus ride (bumpy) but it was expected and actually exhilarating. 10/10 for the tour and the guide. 12/10 for the food. COME HUNGRY.
As a chef and head guide for the company Manu was so knowledgeable about food, the history of each stand and restaurant we visited and of Puerto Vallarta. We learned so much, had amazing tacos and really enjoyed the evening. Book this tour early in your trip so you can go back and visit your favorites places again!
Tried so many different great meals and learned a lot of history. Perfect way to explore PV and try different food.
Our evening taco tour with Bernardo was interesting, delicious and delightful! We savored a variety of fish and meat tacos together with an additional bonus stop for churros(made in front of us) and a cantarito (traditional drink of Jalisco)cocktail at the end. We explored more than one neighborhood as Bernardo moved us about in a comfortable van. What made the experience exceptional was Bernardo’s understanding of Puerto Vallarta’s history, his connection with many local people (proprietors) and his genuine love and appreciation for them and for PV in general.
We really enjoyed this tour! It’s a great way to start off your time in PV. Our guide Manu was awesome! He was very informative and went at our pace. We never felt rushed and he let us know when there would be upcoming bathrooms breaks. The food was all amazing! It’s a lot of food so pace yourself! Water was provided and you could buy drinks at each stop as well if you wanted. It wasn’t too much walking and each stop was unique. Highly recommend! :)
Very informative experience. The food was delicious. And Manu is so fine
This is a must do activity when traveling to Puerta Vallarta! The group size was very small, but perfect. Our guide, Fernanda, was so knowledgable and friendly. This tour is a great way to explore the city and visit restaurants you wouldn't otherwise. I 100% recommend this tour just remember eat a small lunch as there is 8 dishes throughout the night.
Miele was wonderful!! Personable, knowledgeable, entertaining, warm, interesting. Highly recommend both the tour (great food) and Miel. ❤️
Highly recommend this walking tour. Miel our amazing Tour Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. 4 different taco stops, 1 enchilada, chocolate cafe, churros and ended with a tequila and mezcal tasting. Thank you Miel and Vallarta Food Tours.
We had an excellent night experiencing food that we never would have thought to try on our own. Our guide was amazing, knowledgeable and funny. I highly recommend.
Maho was an amazing guide! He was funny, knowledgeable and engaged. We all enjoyed the history and the variety of tacos!
This was probably my favorite activity I booked in PV and most of that is credited to Miel. She was a fantastic guide and I could never give her enough praise. There was so much to learn on this tour and you could tell Miel was passionate about the history. We were down a party of 6, leaving us with 5 people total but honestly it was the perfect size. Many of the places we went were to small, so I imagine accommodating larger parties can be difficult. Be warned though, some of the salsas can be very spicy! You may want to bring an extra bottle of water for yourself. I certainly felt the aftermath of the spice the following day.
Miel (our guide) was amazing and it was super fun! Do this at the beginning of your trip so you can get pointed in the direction of some great tacos for the remainder of your vacation
Miel was our guide and she was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. Joann was the best guide. She was very friendly, informative and accommodating. We enjoyed getting to know some of Vallarta's history with the food vendors, enjoyed delicious food and even rode the local bus!! Total treat!!
No one with mobility issues should try this. That being said, if you are able to move around it was amazing. This was the second time we went on this taco tour and loved it. The places that we we went were not the same as the first tour. Nice variety, amazing food. The group was very small. Everyone very friendly and had a great time. Five out of five would go again
Enjoyed all the locations choosen by the independent tour company. La barra del Mar stood out. We thoroughly enjoyed having Maho as our informative and helpful guide. 40 minute walk back from the starting point was unexpected but a nice walk.
Incredible food and an absolutely wonderful guide. Bernardo lead us around the city and shared great food and the beautiful history of the area.
This was a great taco tour! It really felt like we were going to small, authentic places. Our tour guide Maho was great! He brought the energy and shared a lot of PV’s history with us.
The tour was not very engaging or lively. The tacos were good but I felt I could have done this tour on my own.
Fun tour, met great people, 9 in our group. Brenda was great, lots of facts and good tacos.we will revisit some our stops. You will be full by end.
The tour was absolutely terrific! Really interesting mix of tacos (all delicious). Our guide made it fun and educational.
Had a great time walking through the romantico zone, learning about the history and culture of Mexico. And tasting the wonderful varieties of tacos on display. Plus a truly fun and diverse group of folks to share the experience. Kudos to Miel who weaved her magical charm into a memorable tapestry. Noche fantastica!
Maho was wonderful - knowledgable and fun, and very adaptable. At the last stop, we all had had enough tacos and wanted ice cream, so he took us to an Ice Cream shoppe. The other people on the tour were great fun. Marvelous trip
The tacos were varied and delicious. Maho did a fabulous job giving details about PV and the restaurant owners we enjoyed 5 different tacos, churros, two cocktails and. Tequila tasting. Loved our snapshot of the old town.
Wow! We ate so many tacos! It is a good thing we had a few hours to pace ourselves. Some food tours will be more of a tasting menu where they cut items into bite-sized pieces. These were whole tacos for each person on every stop. And, every taco was so completely different. Our guide, Maho, knew the top spots in Puerto Vallarta. He was friendly and gave so much information about the food history of Mexico. We are here for 12 days and will return to many of the spots that were on the tour.
Maho was a very pleasant tour guide. The experience was informative, the diverse areas of town, the different types of agave, the family’s histories that owned the restaurants that we visited. The tacos sampled were delicious, and well presented. I think our favorite is still the tuna. Bring your walking shoes and appetite. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I went on this tour after I landed and checked into my hotel. I knew I wasn’t going to wanna think about what/where to eat. It was the perfect decision for my quick 2 night stay. It truly made me feel like I wasn’t missing out on anything with such a short stay. Our host, Miel, was friendly, welcoming, and so knowledgeable. You can tell how important food, culture, and history are to her. I learned so much without feeling overwhelmed with information. Everything she spoke about felt so worth knowing. Go on an empty stomach! We got very full, but you better believe I ate every single bite. I would recommend to everyone no matter how long your stay.
My husband and I experienced the Taco Evening Food Walking Tour on our 2nd day after our arrival to PV. We were fortunate to have only 4 people in our group, so we had our guide, Joanna’s, full attention and we could ask so many questions about PV and the food scene. Joanna, was so knowledgeable, friendly with a great sense of humour. One of our stops was so delicious, we have been back for dinner! The research the team has done on the stops we made was very evident with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the people of each stop. We would highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your vacation so you can get an idea of places to dine during your stay. Also, you definitely don’t leave this tour hungry!!!
Every course was very flavorful and offered a unique bite into the variety of tacos Puerto Vallarta has to offer. Our tour took roughly three and a half hours from start to finish, and felt well curated and well paced. Our guide Manuel is a chef himself, and offered thorough explanations and history into each dish. Would recommend booking with him on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
