Such a great tour, I ate so many wonderfully delicious tacos I couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. If you go, I hope you get Karla, she was a real gem and showed our little group some amazing places. Very knowledgeable, incredible and it seemed like she knew every third person we passed. All love and praise to her. Highly recommend this tour!
Berto was our guide. Arrive hungry and ready to walk the narrow streets out of the tourist areas. We ate a lot of delicious tacos each one different none alike from many locations.Berto knew the history of each establishments all while being attentive to us offering shaded seating, cool towels, and aqua frescas, water to keep us cool. We visited a tortilla factory also a panadería, a home made ice cream shop and candy store to finish our tour. Worth it.
Great experience walking all over Romantic Zone experiencing family taco stands, bakeries, tortilla processing, ice cream shops and so much history and kindness. Karla is a great guide going above and beyond with frozen towelettes for us in the afternoon heat. She made sure we had refreshing frescos and served everyone with enthusiasm. Request her as your guide! Thank you 🌺🙏🏼🌺
Our guide Karla was very friendly and informative. All of the tacos were delicious! You definitely get full on this tour!
Karla was amazing, extremely knowledgeable and integrated in the community and culture A true ambassador of Mexico Loved all of the locations for the authentic tacos
Tacos were amazing and our tour guide Kevin was even amazing-er! Very personal and local-feeling experience. Highly recommend!
One of the BEST tours we've been on in 18 years of coming to PV!!! Berto was Amazing, knowledgeable, funny, and a great guide. Definitely come ready to eat yourself into a coma. 🤣 So much yummy food! We've already recommended the tour to several people at our resort. Thank you again, Berto and Vallarta Eats!!!
Did walking Taco Tour and Kevin escorted us and kept us safe and secure. Food was delicious and people were friendly. Got excellent variety of tacos and saw a business that make the tortillas too. Last stops with for ice cream and candy. What's not to like. Thank you Kevin!
Tasty, informative, great variety, excellent guide!!! I highly recommend this tour for all! Alberto was so knowledgeable. It was so fun experiencing the tortilla factory and the people!!!
Kevin was a great tour guide and provided so much information, had everything arranged seamlessly at each stop along the way, and shred personal experiences. We thought he was very easy to have conversations with. We loved the beautiful walk and delicious food.. He was very considerate of ensuring our food preferences and made sure to explain the ingredients and confirm if we would-be happy or if he should request any alterations on our behalf.
Great tour guide Kevin, familiar with all the best stops for a true flavor of what PV has to offer.
This food tour was just so much fun. Our guide/host Kevin was easy to communicate with, providing great information about the food and a history of the people who owned and operated each place that we visited. We sampled about 7 different kinds of tacos, some wonderful baking and home-made ice cream for our finisher. Tacos were all slightly different and gave us a real sampling of the flavours that can be created in this wonderfully adaptive food. Well worth the time and money, and if you go try and hook up with Kevin as your guide.
Had an amazing taco tour with Kevin. He took great care of us even making sure to accommodate my dairy allergy. He took us to several taco stands which were all delicious teaching us about the different types of tacos as we went along and sharing knowledge of each family business. Kevin was very kind and helpful and knowledgeable and we could not have asked for a better guide. We finished off our taco tour with a bakery, a homemade ice cream family business and a candy shop. It was a delightful experience.
We had Karla as our tour guide. Not only was she enthusiastic but she was able to explain the foods and culture of PV which helped us appreciate the tour so much more! The tacos were outstanding and the families who were cooking were lovely. 10/10 experience! Do not miss this tour
Walking around Vallarta, old town, tasting tacos was fun as well as filling! Old style preparation and learning about the town was fun. Ice cream at the end capped off a great time.
Alejandro was an excellent guide who I really shared his knowledge and pride in his home of Puerto Vallarta. It was a fabulous day and the tacos were incredible as was insight into culture around them. PV is in great shape. Come and enjoy y’all.
Karla, our guide was outstanding. She met us on time, provided each of us with a useful souvenir tote bag, and gave us a great walking tour. She explained the food at each stop, and shared cultural aspects for the unique cooking styles, fillings, and sauces used by each vendor. The tour included street vendors, restaurants, a bakery, ice cream shop, and a souvenir store. As an anti-tour tourist, this isn't something I would have booked on my own, but I'm a convert—it was relaxing, the food was great, and we all enjoyed each other's company. Warning: You'll be given generous portions! You'll want to eat everything, but pace yourself—it's a lot of food. We didn't eat breakfast before the tour and still felt full 1/2 way in. Feel free to eat lightly. Our tour lasted about 3 hours. Timing is based on your group's walking pace and the amount of time you sit at each vendor. Three stops had toilets. Each location had shade, and all but one had a place to sit. This tour is not for someone who has issues walking or has accessibility needs (cobblestone streets, narrow, uneven sidewalks, high curbs).
We do this tour every time we visit Puerto Vallarta with new friends. Tomas, our guide was awesome, local, and knowledgeable. The variety of tacos is great and tasty. You can never leave hungry. We had fun, as we always do. High;y recommended, especially if you enjoy tacos. This time we visited new taco places, and we have to make return trips for the tacos we love.
Karla our fearless leader was a ball of energy and full of information about all the delicious food we are.i liked that there were concerns for safety when crossing the cobblestone streets.
We went on the taco food tour on Feb 20th 2026. Our tour guide was Tomas. He was friendly, approachable, and shared his childhood stories about the area that we were walking through during the tour. He also provided us a souvenir bag with a large sized bottle water which we all appreciated. The taco stalls that we visited were different from each other and the tacos all tasted really good. We were getting pretty full by the 3rd/4th stall. The sizes were quite generous. We had a 2 year old with us and she only wanted tortilla shells and beans. The food stalls were accommodating to our little ones needs. I am rating this 4 stars as I was hoping to try one or two unique types of tacos that I wouldn't be able to get in Vancouver, Canada. A lot of the types that we tasted during the tour is something I can find similar in my city. It was a nice treat to end the taco tour at a local ice cream shop and also a Mexican candy shop a few blocks down the road. I would recommend this tour to others.
Fun day with lots of food. Request Alberto if you can, he was born in PV and knows so much about the area and he is just a fun guy. I am a pollo-pescatarian and he made sure I had something at every spot, it was delicious.
This was my hands down favorite Taco Tour of my trip. Thomas was our guide and his passion and knowledge of both the food and the neighborhoods was self evident. The food was outstanding and really showcased the diverse flavors of Mexico from fresh seafood to melt in your mouth carnitas. Walking around really helps with your digestion and creates ‘room’ for the incredible amount of food we were provided. I highly recommend this as the ultimate PV Taco Tour.
If you want to eat where the locals eat this is the tour! Alberto is a personable and knowledgeable guide who is clearly proud of his neighborhood and history. Every stop we made was an opportunity to eat great food, meet friendly people and learn more about the culture. You get a lovely variety and abundance of tacos as well as some yummy ice creams and candies towards the end. He also took special care for the guests in our group that had food restrictions. Very well done and a great value as well. I highly recommend!
The tour was so fun! Learned a lot about traditional Mexican tacos, salsas and tortillas. The food was great along with the experience of eating at the street vendors’ stalls. We enjoyed the guide, Alberto, and he was very informative about all the food we experienced. Go hungry!!
8 stops - all different meats and presentations. Love seeing the tortilla factory too. Gives you the education and courage to walk up to one of the street taco stands and know what you’re doing. Alberto was a very engaging guide. Great that he took pics and posted for us all. Super enjoyable day.
Excellent food tour with Alberto! This is the second time I've done the Signature Taco Tour with Alberto, and we had an excellent time! Alberto does a great job of sharing the history of the area, noting that many of the restaurants we stopped at had been around and family owned for 60+ years. We loved seeing the tortillas being made, and had never tasted something as seemingly basic as a tortilla, but made fresh and it made all the difference!! There was a good variety of food and tacos, and Alberto was a fantastic guide.
Kevin was a great host. Good communication with Vallarta eats beforehand and easy to find (walk down the ramp to river cafe after uber drops you off). Kevin gave us so much information about the tacos, sauces and local culture. He told us about how long the family businesses have been going and made sure that everyone had all the food they wanted. One of our party preferred fish and he went out of his way to make sure she was happy with everything! It was such a great way to start our trip!! Make sure and save room for the ice cream/fruit popsicles at the end! Highly rec this tour for either first timers or people in group wanting to know where to get local street tacos. I loved also going by and seeing how the corn tortillas were made!! It was well thought out!
This is our second time taking this tour. Karla was fun and engaging as our guide. We loved the experience and highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time on this tour!! The variety of tacos along with the extra treats (ice cream and candy) was a perfect combination. But what really made our tour was our guide Karla! She has such an outgoing personality and seemed to know everyone we passed. It was like taking a walk with a friend through their home town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We have been on several PV taco tours over the years and this was the most interesting and fun. The places were more out of the way and our guide was so much fun. Karla knows the people and knows the food. She was outstanding.
Don’t miss a chance to go with Karla on a taco tour! She has such fun energy and is so entertaining and knowledgeable about Puerto Vallarta . Ask for Karla and take a tour with her. It will be something to remember. Thank you Karla !
We really enjoyed this tour. It is the second time we have done the tour and we recommend it to all our friends that travel to PV. All the great food as well as the cultural experience makes the experience well worth the cost of the tour. Come hungry!
Wonderful tour, Alberto was very knowledgeable, was very patient as we were traveling with our elderly parents, and they moved a little slower. There was lots of good food, was nice to visit the city of PV, and not just the tourist spots. Go hungry, as there is lots to eat.
Best part of my trip to Puerto Vallarta. The tacos were delicious and Karla was a great tour guide! Come hungry.
Great food and great people. Our guide Alberto was amazing! The tacos were authentic and we will certainly be back. Thank you guys for everything.
Definitely a must for first time visitors! Great way to see the area, and to learn how the locals eat!
Over the last several years, this was my third time on this tour. Besides the amazing food, Karla (with a K!) was amazing. Her genuine kindness and her knowledge of the area and the vendors put this excursion over the top. Every single taco tour stop was fabulous. Honestly, it's hard to pick a favorite. We even had one person in our group with dairy allergies, which they accomodated without any issues! This a great way to taste authentic food, learn how to order on your own, and support local establishments. Not to mention, a GREAT way to have fun with friends and introduce them to the REAL Puerto Vallarta! PS.... Karla, Karla, Karla! (IYKYK) :-)
Karla gave the tour It was a great tour, very informative. Loved the whole experience.
A LOT of delicious food. Very educational and so interesting! Love the family owned/run businesses. Karla was an amazing tour guide!
This is a tour for visitors who are interested in moving beyond the usual tourist haunts that serve mediocre and overpriced food and margaritas. The tour was three hours long and covered about 2 miles around the “zona romantica” the oldest neighborhood in Puerto Vallarta. The terrain is slightly hilly with uneven cobblestones so comfortable shoes are recommended. The tour guide provided bottled water and there were plenty of opportunities to sit or use the facilities along the way. Our tour guide, Alberto, was a zona romantica native and a silversmith by trade who conducts tours because he loves people and loves food. He knows all the ins and out of the neighborhood and was greeted frequently by residents and shop owners. Alberto’s knowledge of the neighborhood, its people, and its food is encyclopedic. We made 5 stops for tacos and each stop featured a different type of taco. Alberto explained to us the history of the taco, how each taco is prepared and served and how it should be garnished. Each taco was more delicious than the last with fillings ranging from carnitas, birria, fish and even sweetbreads. Each taco was washed down by a different aqua fresca, a refreshing soft drink made from local fruits and flowers. The venues were street vendors and modest restaurants, most of which had existed for over 40 years. The people were unfailingly friendly and welcoming. Alberto explained how to identify the most sanitary establishments and how the historical lack of refrigeration forced the people to use only the freshest ingredients. Added bonuses were stops at a local market, a local bakery where we sampled fresh, hot pastries, a local tortilla factory where we witnessed the manufacturing process, an ice cream shop where we could try exotic flavors, and a candy shop where we sampled locally made candies and liqueurs. The taco tour was a tremendous learning and culinary experience. Alberto is a fantastic tour guide who loves his work, loves his neighborhood and loves food. We could not have been more pleased to experience the history, culture, people and food of Puerto Vallarta.
Lots of great tacos and information . Alberto our guide was very fun and entertaining!! Would recommend to others
Very informative. Fun to try different Mexican foods. I liked the fact you did some walking in between tasting. Roberto did a great job!
It’s a LOT of brisk walking in between stops, but the tacos are well worth it! Pace yourself; we shared several tacos between two people and that way we didn’t miss out and the end when people were super full!
It was cool to walk around and see different parts of PV that we probably wouldn't have otherwise. A great value because of all the food you got, but I was full after the first two stops! Be sure to bring a big eater with you to finish off the extras!
First, Kevin, our tour guide was awesome. Very friendly but most important he really took time to explain Puerto Vallarta, the food we were eating as well as the history of the places we ate. He told us about the families that owned the Fondas (a new word for me) where we ate. I think we went to 4 Fondas, a food stand, tortilla factory, ice cream shop and a candy store.... We walked a lot of the back streets but it was very doable.... If I got this right, we had Migas con pollo, Tacos dorados de birria (Res or Pollo), traditional street tacos - asada, pollo, pastor, chorizo, another place I don't remember... I ate a lot, ok..... The ice cream shop was very unique with excellent ice cream or popcicles all made with fresh fruit. Almost forgot, we also went to a bakery that provides a lot of product to the local businesses.
Karla was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The various taco stops were each different but all tasty Karla explained the differences and made sure we were all looked after. The timing of the tour was excellent.
Just an awesome taco tour. Best guide ever and so delicious - mega family memory Our guide was local and gave us neighborhood history and personal experience and intro to owners of taco stops
Awesome experience. Loved Alberto our guide. Went to great local taco spots. All were great and different. Highly recommend!
Great experience with Kevin. He shared lots of interesting information about the area and the family run businesses. Food was amazing, lots of variety and I was so full by the end.
