Our tour guide Obie was very experienced and went above and beyond to provide us the best experience. He is a US veteran and his English was spot on. My family and friends were very impressed and we're very happy with the tour. I would definitely recommend to bring some cash such as US dollars or pesos as there will be some stops along the way for shopping and dining. I absolutely love the tequila tasting and seeing the sights of the city and just being engulfed in the culture. And those of you who are curious there are plenty of opportunities for restrooms. We had a lot of pictures taken and honestly this tour was one of the most memorable ones we had and we will definitely book with Obi again in the future. This is out 2nd year using obi tours for all of our excursions and transportation needs. This company is by far the best in puerto vallarta. I will never use another company in puerto vallarta as long as obi tours is operating. We have not only found a great company but we have made a friend in Obi forever. Obi and his drivers are fantastic. They are constantly in contact over WhatsApp about pick up and drop off times and points and sending updates as needed. Obi is so very friendly and fun and loves his work and life in puerto vallarta and it shines through in every way. We booked many different excursions with him, whale watching on a sailboat, baby sea turtle release, rzr tour, zoo, city tour, transportation to and from the pirate ship tour. If obi was busy he sent another driver to pick us up or drop us off, Cindy and Angel were great. Obi Tours goes above and beyond and the attention to detail and planning and organizing everything for us was exceptional. We communicated lots over WhatsApp during the planning stages as we had to book things separately, obi worked with me to set everything up as needed and change things as needed as well. Once we had decided what excursions we wanted to do, obi took care of just about everything, we didn't have to worry about the planning or organizing or entrance fees. Obi also loves taking pictures and is an awesome photographer, and if he is able to accompany you on the excursion you have your own private and personal photographer and he will send you the pictures he takes from his own phone too. Obi is very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful and accommodating and trustworthy and personable, and affordable. The services provided are awesome and second to none. We had one person in our group who had mobility issues and uses a walker, obi was super helpful and patient with her and made her feel involved, and heard. It was her first trip and she had an amazing time and obi and his drivers made her feel comfortable and at ease. She will never forget these excursions with obi tours. He will change and accommodate tours to your preferences and add stops for food and sightseeing along the way. Obi is great with my grandson and he really likes him. We missed saying goodbyes at the airport but we sent air hugs and high fives and fist bumps. We will be back to Puerto vallarta and will definitely be in contact to plan our excursions with obi tours once again.
Great tour. If you are interested in the city and surrounding areas this is a good tour. The guide was very well organized and paced. We never felt rushed and we saw some amazing views that I don’t think most tours would be able to do. The lunch stop was so good. Food and service was great. The tequila tour was really good. There are stops to buy touristy stuff which I think every tour does. We thought it was worth every penny

Obitours was great! USA veteran owned! Our tour guide was an expat from USA and pretty amazing English. Easy to communicate with and find online with Google if you need more details. Dude communicated with WhatsApp or email pretty well after booking. Tell him what you like if you like off the beaten path they can do that, if you rather have street food for your meals they can do that, we even stopped at a hotel randomly for photography and he was amenable. The owner also has a passion for photography and could even make uglies like myself look passable and maybe excellent. Driven around in a super safe suburban big SUV. Personality was great. I already know a friend I will recommend it to if he ever visits. I think my big mistake was just not looking at the itinerary at all, if something doesn’t appeal to you tell him to skip it and they probably can. We felt like we knew the romantic zone but he was able to show us things right in our air bnb neighborhood that I had no idea about so their local knowledge is real.

ObiTours was continually in contact with us from when we purchased the tour several months before our scheduled trip, and was especially reaching out to us a day or so before our scheduled tour, and hours before our tour was to start. His constant communication was comforting, as I knew we were going to be taken good care of before and during our tour. Obi greeted us warmly on the day of our tour and took us to many of the historic sites in Puerto Vallarta, always explaining the historical importance of each location. Our recommend lunch location was a bit more than we had expected, yet turn out to be absolutely amazing and delicious. Obi is a wonderful businessman and historian, and is very enjoyable. In would highly recommend ObiTours for the city tour, as well as any of the other tours he offers. You will be pleased with the results, and with the time spent with Obi.
First, the tour guide, Tomas, was a nice man. Knowledgeable. That was about the extent of the good ness part. Our guide somehow picked up the wrong family, so we were left in the pier for about 45 minutes. All of the stops were pushing to buy something. Anything. Jewelry stop was about 2 minutes of jewelry lesson, and 30 minutes of buy something. Coffee place was three minutes about coffee, and 30 minutes of buying something. Lunch was crazy expensive - $300 for our family to eat OK fajitas. And that is not included in the price… I would steer clear of this one. You are paying for a glorified shopping trip for things you didn’t ask for. Not a good one at all.
That being on a wheelchair or handicapped is not s hindrance to explore the beauty of the place. Anyone could be accommodated and tour could be modified accordingly. Obed of Obi Tours is so helpful and very understanding to my daughter’s needs. He made sure we were comfortable and enjoying throughout the trip and most of all very safe. The driver I just don’t remember his name was very cautious especially with someone on the wheelchair. We were in good hands I should say. Thsnk you very much Obi Tours and Viator!!

Obi is by far the best tour guide in all of Puerto Vallarta and beyond! He picked the two of us up at the airport the first day. We were informed that we could get in to our Airbnb early so instead of going to lunch (which was the plan), he took us to a really nice grocery store and even came in to help us. The next day we did the Signature City Tour which we highly recommend. Obi knows everything about the area and has so much passion explaining what we were seeing. He is really smart and full of information but also flexible and asks you if there’s anything special you want to do. His English is excellent which makes it really nice since our Spanish is not great. Take this tour, it will be the highlight of your trip. Also, if you need an airport transfer he’s really reasonable and reliable!

On Wed 3/12/25 my wife and I had the pleasure to experience Puerto Vallarta w/Obi Tours and our wonderful guide Irma! We were met on disembarking by Irma & the owner's wife with their sign, they walked us through the mall and out to the lot where Irma's vehicle was waiting. It was a private 6 hr tour so our input was utilized during the tour. Irma is a life-long resident of Puerto Vallarta and knew the streets, villages, and people completely; everywhere we went we were greeted with hospitality and respect by her friends and fellow countrymen. The Boy on the Seahorse, Banderas Bay areas, Old Downtown, Panteon 5 de Diciembre, Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Tequila Tasting Tour, and a Coffee Tasting Tour were just a few of the sites we saw on this informative tour! If on a cruise ship she will have you back by your allotted time; you will always feel safe. We've toured in many places and this is one of the finest we've ever experienced. Obi’s knowledge is superb and his organisation of our trip was outstanding allowing ample time at each stop for photos and historical information. If you’re planning a visit by cruise ship you will be very happy you contracted him promptly at the terminal and a comfortable car very well driven. Daniel was an incredible tour guide. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate of what we were looking for out of the experience. We told him we were interested in seeing the bright colors of the city and see art, so he made sure there was plenty of time for that. He also took us to two places where we could buy handmade jewelry and leather bags, even introducing us to the people who actually made them. I highly recommend this tour, we learned so much about the city that we never would have known on our own.
The distance from the ship to the port entrance is a very long walk. Free trams are available to ride but wait times are long. Joel was an informative knowledgeable enthusiast guide. Angel was a careful, skillful driver on the steep and narrow streets. We always felt safe. The tour covered the city and area in great comprehensive detail. It was fascinating and beautiful. It included the old and new and the scenic beauty of setting of Puerto Vallarta. It is impossible to see it all and we were given the options to pick what we wanted to see.
From start to finish this trip did bot disappoint. Very responsive to e-mails and planned a great day for my wife and I with oír knowledgeable driver “Pepe”.
We booked this tour as a shore excursion. We were met at the port with a sign with our name. The owner, Obed, introduced us to our guide, Irma. We had an absolutely wonderful experience! We toured the town, did tequila tasting and visited a beautiful garden. Irma was so knowledgable. I highly recommend this tour company!
This is a fabulous way to see Puerto Vallarta. Arranging the tour was easy and they were very responsive with details pre -tour. They met us easily as we disembarked from the ship. Our tour guide Tommy had a beautiful luxurious van for our private tour of four. He was very informative and gave us a fabulous overview of PV. We would highly recommend this method of sightseeing in PV. Don’t hesitate if you want a special private tour at a very reasonable price.
We researched how best to spend our time in Puerto Vallarta as part of our holiday planning and were impressed by the great feedback received by Obi for his private tour on TA. So my wife and I, alongside our more elderly family member Christine, booked him well ahead of time for our scheduled stop on a cruise. And we are so glad we did! What a great experience. He was there alongside his wife Liz who is learning the tour guide trade, to greet us off the boat. We were then taken in his comfortable car to soak up the Puerto Vallarta vibe and visit all the key sights, enjoy lovely food, hear all the fascinating history and my favourite - a wonderful tequila tasting. We were able to do it all at a pace that worked for Chris which was much appreciated. If shopping for bargains is your thing there’s plenty to be had but we aren’t big shoppers so the tour was flexed to suit us very happily. We got to see and do exactly what we wanted which is the great joy of a private tour. Many people comment in their reviews what a genuinely nice guy Obi is and it was a key part of the reason why he stood out from the crowd when we booked him. And it’s true!! He is a gifted and natural guide, warm, funny, knowledgeable and a lovely guy to spend time with. And Liz will make a super guide too - they are a great team. If visiting PV and looking for a great guide, I can’t recommend Obi enough. Get him booked!
Obi tours was amazing. We were picked up at our hotel right on time. We chose this tour because it was private and customizable. We love to see and eat where the locals go and learn about the history of the locals. We stopped at a local coffee shop, which was amazing, We had the best tacos at a small restaurant, we learned so much about the city, and went to a tequila tasting, where we bought a couple bottles of flavored tequila. We spent 6 hours with Obi and felt like we were with our best friend. We laughed so much throughout the day. We enjoyed our tour so much that we booked a second tour with him before we got back to our resort. I highly recommend Obi tours. I promise you will not be disappointed.
We had Obi himself. After looking around, we wanted someone local who could provide history, a tour just for us, and personal experiences. Oh, fluent Spanish, too. All tours have an element of souvenir sales, it's part of it. The best part was that we could (and did) decline a few locations. The places we did go were locally owned/made, which is the only stuff we want to buy. Obi is actually from the US, his wife (who runs the show, and well) is local. His English is excellent, he's a charmer, funny, and we learned so much, from history to local conditions. If he buys a street taco, you should too. We could have personalized more, we just needed a basic overview, both in case we never visited again or did visit again. We got that and more. It was a packed day. They offer other tours we would try if we visit again. Go private tour, use Obi!
This is a great tour. It is actually mislabeled as a city tour. It is a day with a private tour guide. If you are like me and want a personal experience with no other people I would completely recommend this experience.
Obi, An combat decorated veteran is a amazing host, His personality and knowledge of the areas are excellent. You will feel like he is your personal friend by the end of the day. His personal relationship with the community allows him to take you to unique places off the beaten path. One of the best private tours, I have taken in my travels!!!
