Joanna was great, easy to talk to, laid back, personable. It was like hanging out with a friend who is a local. We took this same tour 2 years ago and the only repeat restaurant was the Claudia the aguas frescas lady Many hole in the wall places with simple fresh delicious food. Come hungry and don’t plan on eating another meal the rest of the day. We will book again on our next visit

We had an awesome time on our food tour. Our guide was fantastic! Miuel was fantastic. Think Miguel without the G. We by just luck had a great group of other tourists that were funny and friendly that helps. Can’t always get that lucky. Anyway about the food. It is lots and very tasty. Lots of reviews mentioned to come hungry don’t eat anything before your tour and they are right. The one mistake we made was not getting the alcohol added to our booking but that was easy to fix during the tour. Would 100% recommend
All good. Bernardo met us on time. We happened to be the only 2. Other times over the years companies have cancelled due small group. Kudos to follow through. Bernardo interacted like family with almost all of the restaurant workers. The food was splendid, a drink of savory fruit drink stop as well as dessert. Not only learned some new sauce options but plenty of History and architecture was a big part of the conversation. Definitely worth your time
Bernardo was a wonderful, knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. All of the tapas-sized tastings were excellent and I still have difficulty picking my favorite. we will definitely return to Vallerta Food tours. Mucho gracias.
My tour guide was Sylvia, I like that she didn’t just take us to the restaurants, but also told us random facts about the areas we walked through, it was all very interesting. All of the restaurant she took us to were amazing. The tour was also a decent price. I would definitely recommend it if you want a nice quick view of few cute restaurants
My hubby and I had a lovely time exploring some wonderful bites. We really appreciated going to the local market and away from the touristy spots to discover authentic local food.
We had a wonderful time with our tour guide, Bernardo. He shared stories about the history of Puerto Vallarta as well as stories of the families who owned the restaurants we visited. The food was fantastic. Would highly recommend
An absolute must book! Never in a million years would we have found the restaurants and food picks that our guide, Sylvia, had picked out for us. Everyone was incredibly friendly and Sylvia was a wealth of knowledge, both about the area and about the local cuisine/food. Definitely come hungry because you're going to be well fed on this tour.
Such a fun way to spend an afternoon, food was delicious!
A nice introduction to local places that served excellent seafood. Gio was an excellent and attentive guide who clearly has an excellent relationship with various restaurants and owners. He also gave space for the natural conversations between tour participants. There was variety in the types of locations from restaurants to food trucks. For me, the highlight was Mirisma, a food truck that is also listed in Eater's best PV restaurants. Gio was a good resource for any questions you might have and I would recommend setting up the tour at the beginning of your vacation to take advantage of recommendations he might have for your future dining.
Edgar is knowledgeable and connected to the food experience. He described the food and the local area so well. If you want to learn about local food traditions and the best places to eat this is the tour for you.
This was the best thing of my entire trip to Puerto Vallarta! My parents, sister and I booked this seafood tour after having difficulties finding a food tour that could accommodate my sister, dad and myself as pescatarians. On this tour we stopped by 7 places and each place was amazing and unique. Well worth the price! I will recommend this to anyone going to PV
Fun and tasty way to try different seafood dishes in the ZR. Bernardo was a knowledgeable and funny guide. We enjoyed visiting the local places that we might have missed otherwise. Don’t eat a lot before the tour!
Great tour from start to finish. We walked to parts of Puerto Vallarta we hadn’t explored yet, which made the experience feel both local and fresh. The food was absolutely delicious — so much so that there was no need to make dinner plans afterward. Every stop was scrumptious, fresh, and deeply satisfying. It was a relaxed, immersive way to soak in Puerto Vallarta’s culture through its food. Highly recommend.
All the stops had very good food. Bernardo gave nice history of various things along the way. The people in the Tour were great to meet and talk to. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We would definitely do it again.
Loved this tour. It was fun. Our guide was a blast and was full of insight. You could tell he had great relationship with each restaurant and location. The food was delicious and they made special accommodations for my wife who is gluten free. I would highly recommend this tour.
Bernando was such a great guide! We had a hoot! And nice it was a small group. All the small family restaurants he took us to were excellent & recommend this tour if you want to experience some different seafood options in the downtown area.
This was our 4th food tour with Vallarta Food Tours. We learn something new every time and get to sample and try new places each time we come. Our tour guide Bernardo was awesome. We loved how he would share bits and pieces of his family history with us along the way. The off-stop of the tortilla factory was excellent, & we loved hearing how it was his job as a young boy to get the tortillas every day for his family. We can't wait to come back!!!
There’s a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Watch your steps carefully on the streets. Bring your appetite.
Sylvia was an amazing guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. All of the food was fantastic, especially the fish/shark taco. That was out of this world! We learned a lot, as well as ate a lot. We would highly recommend this tour, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get Sylvia. Thank you Sylvia for a wonderful afternoon.
If you're looking for seafood tacos that are out of this world, that are unique, this is the tour for you! Al, our guide, was great. We enjoyed visiting with him - delightful person - and he was very knowledgeable about the food and the area. Thank you, Al, and Vallarta Food Tours. We'll do it again!
If you like seafood this is the class! Tasted so many different types of seafood and at places that have been back to for rest of our trip
This was a great tour with a good variety of seafood; shrimp, fish, and octopus. Silvia our tour guide was wonderful and really knowledgeable about each of the dishes. Luckily we did this tour on our first day in Puerto Vallarta because we were able to go back to a few of the places to eat again before we left.
Sylvia, our tour guide for the Seafood Lovers tour was excellent. All the tastings were amazing. Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Sylvia was very friendly and enthusiastic. It was great to get a nice sampling of so many places and foods. We enjoyed them all, and it would be difficult to pick a favorite. The meeting spot was easy to find, and the distance covered was just right. Highly recommended!
We had a great tour yesterday with Bernardo as our guide. Bernardo was friendly, knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. We went to several amazing locations but our favourite by far was Tuna Azul. Their food tasting was delicious and the Margaritas were the best we have had in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you Vallarta Food Tours and Bernardo for a great tour!
The different seafoods that we ate at each stop were delicious! Our tour guide, Bernardo, was excellent very engaging. He also shared a lot of local history
We took the seafood tour. The walking tour was around a couple of blocks in old Town the guide was personable and had good English. Very informative about history and local vegetation seen as we walked. I really expected to get more seafood though. This was more of a taco tour. Not a spread of seafood delights really. Also I suggest you have a decent breakfast before you arrive as the tour isn't going to fill you up. No beverages served with the tour but available for purchase at some stops. Wear a hat, there are bird droppings for no extra charge at the outdoor stops.
Edgar was a great guide for our Seafood Tour. He pointed out and explained about many of the fruit trees on our walking tour. He told us about a bit of the history of the plaza. His English was great and he asked each of us about our favourite Mexican Seafood Dish. He used this information to pick out the 5 seafood tacos we tasted at the family owned businesses we got to experience. It was a lovely tour, but we were surprised that it was mostly a seafood taco tour. The food we tasted was terrific, nothing disappointed. The rating is based on price for the tour being it was in USD.
Great tour with a very well-prepared guide. She took us to places we would never have found on our own that had great sea food to offer.
We had a great time with our guide Silvia. Her local knowledge of the food, area, and history really makes for a great time. All of the food and restaurants were amazing. Many of the best places we went are small out of the way restaurants that I would have never thought of trying without on our own. I would highly recommend all of their tours especially with Silvia.
This was our second food tour with Vallarta Food Tours in 2 weeks and the seafood tour was just as good as the other and different enough that it didn’t feel repetitive. Sylvia displays an infectious enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge, a perfect combination in a guide. We especially wanted to learn where to buy fresh fish since we’re cooking quite a bit for ourselves while we’re here and she brought us to an excellent fish market. There’s a tortilleria right across the street from the fish market making fresh tortillas starting with the corn, not just masa. They were extraordinary! All of the restaurants and stands that we visited were terrific and the food was fresh and delicious. We were in a group of 10 people and greatly enjoyed the conviviality and opportunity to meet such lovely fellow travelers. Very highly recommended!
A fun time with amazing food. Highly recommend this food tour and drinks, if selected. You will learn about the culture.
Exceptional seafood. Each restaurant offered something different. The variety was amazing, from ahi, octopus and shrimp. We finished with ice cream. Our tour guide, Bernardo, was so knowledgeable. He provided a lot of local history. Wonderful day, wonderful food, and opportunity to meet many local restaurateurs. Highly recommended!
The guide was very informative and knowledgeable. The best! Some nice restaurants and a fun outing, suitable for all ages.
The advertisement for this experience did not match the actual tour. It was advertised as seafood tour with a beautiful picture of a grilled fish but mostly was various tacos with little seafood. The Blue Azul was great. One stop was flavored water. The tour guide was pleasant but more information regarding the various neighborhoods would have been nice.
This tour is one you should not miss if you love seafood. The Ahi tuna tostada amazing, the Marlin ceviche, octopus, crab enchilada with shrimp sauce and shrimp grilled taco. Ice cream bar at the end and some chocolate at 2 different places. “ Honey”our guide was so informative. We have been to Puerto Vallarta many times, but learned more about this area from her. The tour is in the romantic zone in downtown Puerto Vallarta. It is a walking tour, but an easy walk for all. Super fun, very much worth the price. It starts out at a beautiful park with amazing mosaic benches all throughout the park. Not to be missed! We liked one location so much we went back for dinner another day.
We had 5 delectable seafood stops. With an amazing two additional stops for ice cream popsicles and chocolates. The Super Fresh Ahi tostada was probably my favorite. Grilled shrimp taco, crab enchilada, not your average enchilada. Octopus and Marlin ceviche were so tasty. These are all Mexican owned restaurants that we probably wouldn’t have found unless we did the food tour. Our guide “Honey” was very exceptional on all her knowledge it was so interesting. this is a walking tour, easy, but wear the right shoes. It was a great way to see different areas of the romantic zone. Enjoyed one place so much we went back. They were all good, so we need to revisit the other places. I can’t recommend this tour enough. You are very full after.
Bernardo took us to 8 stops. First stop was a tuna tostada that was heaped with more delicious yellowfin tuna than I have ever had on a plate. It was delicious as were all the dishes at all the stops. We had a good variety and even stopped for some agua fresca and popsicles, which were different than anything I have ever had. So delicious! Bernardo schooled us on the local flora and gave us a lot of good information about the area we visited and some of the history of PV. I would definitely recommend.
Miel was our guide and she is a wealth of information. We’ve been coming to PVR for many years and learned so much from her. She is warm and friendly and our group was great. We were extremely full by the end of our tour and made 10 stops. Every single place was delicious but my personal favorite was the tuna poke tostada fro Tuna Azul. Ask for Miel and take this tour at the beginning of your visit to get the lay of the land for dining choices.
Great delicious food. Love the local stories about the area. Would recommend to try for future travelers.
Al was a terrific guide on our well appointed Seafood lovers tour! The first stop wowed us, and by the sixth tasting we were deliriously sated from both a gastronomical and cultural perspective. Honestly each tasting was better than the one before! Make this a must do!
Sylvia is a wonderful tour guide! She is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area. We tried places and foods we never would know about and everything was delicious and fun!
We took this tour 2 years ago and again on our most recent visit and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Our guide, Al, was very informative and the items we sampled at each stop were absolutely delicious. On both tours, there was a mix of restaurants in the more touristy part of the zona romantica and slightly beyond so, whether you're visiting Puerto Vallarta for the first time or the twenty-first time, you're sure to discover some new favorite places to get great local food. Highly recommend.
We did this on our first day in Puerto Vallarta and it was a great way sort of explore and try some new things. Some of the dishes were great and some just ok, but we went to places we never would have tried on our own. Our guide Miel was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
My wife and I were the only participants during this tour which I worried at first. That really turned out to be a blessing. Meil treated us like family visiting a new city. She explained the history of each location we visited. All the food tasted great, I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour and tour guide Meil”Honey”, she was amazing and friendly. The food at each place was wonderful! Highly recommend!
This walking tour was not only delicious but also informative. We learned about the cruise, culture and history. Miel was a fantastic guide and I highly recommend.
Amazing seafood tour with Miele!!! So many great hidden gems in Old Town. Thank you, we hope to schedule another tour with Miele in November!!
The food tour was amazing. We had an 8 person tour and booked a private tour with Miel, who was amazing. We learned a lot about the food history and had some really amazing food. Its great walking around with a local because they know so much, and all the people trying to sell you stuff leave you alone as you walk by all the busy tourist shops and enter these smaller amazing local places. The group agreed this tour was our favorite part of our trip to Puerto Vallarta, 100% recommend.
