We wanted a city tour, not a shopping tour. All the stops were expensive. I only managed to take a photo of the Puerto Vallarta arch and sign after the church; all the rest were shopping tours. Tequila was very expensive. You can get a premium one in duty-free when coming home for $50 USD, and it's blue agave. Lunch was too expensive, too. I got lobster and fish, which were not fresh. I felt a tingling, stinging, burning sensation around my mouth and throat for 1,300 pesos. We didn't have a chance to buy souvenirs and gifts. This tour will drain your money.
Very lovely experience and tour guide was the best! Gave so much history of the town and anything we were being presented! Such a beautiful and memorable experience!
Tour was informative and the guide and driver, Panchi and Pedro were entertaining. Tour could be a bit shorter if you didn't go all the way out into the hills but the food was good if a touch overpriced. If you like tequila then the last stop would be a highlight. Enjoyed the tour as it came free with purchasing two other tours.
A lot was offered. My daughter and I had a great time!! The history was interesting. We really liked Gustavo, our guide.
Pick up - great! It went downhill from there. We were dropped off on the Malecon, the church was pointed out as were washrooms in a shop just below the church and the meeting point (35 minutes allocated). In the bus the guide spoke in depth about tequilla. We then went to the tequilla tasting. This took up well more than 1 hour with the guide twice repeating what he had already told us in the bus (including the jokes) and a tequilla "professional" talking to us as well (similar info). Opportunity to taste different grades of tequilla and then a push for us to buy some. When we declined, the guide seemed aghast. Then on to a jewelry store - another sales pitch. My husband and I had had enough and we told a chap who worked in the store to please advise our guide that we were leaving the tour (he was busy speakingwithothers). The guide came running out after us and told us that we couldn't leave the tour (he was quite adamant). We simply said that indeed we could and we left - never to repeat the experience.
We booked the tour and confirmed with the day before, they just sent a message said the tour guide will be here at the lobby at 9:55 am, then the next day we wait at the lobby start from 9:45, nobody came! I sent messages to this company turns out the tour guide went to the wrong hotel! They should confirm with the tour guide the RIGHT LOCATION! They are supposed to be apologize!! This is our last day at here, and they just canceled our booking without trying to fix the problem!
I went on this tour in December of 2025 and had a lovely time. I loved that they picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel (Riu Palace Pacifico). I was with Jesus and Leo, and we traveled in a very comfortable Mercedes van. We toured and learned the history of the city, visited a jeweler, leather goods manufacturer and had a tequila tasting at a distillery (I didn't taste any, but it was very interesting). One word of caution: the streets of PV are not good - lots of cobblestone. As fabulous a driver as Leo is, the ride does get bumpy. Lunch in a mountain village was fabulous. This was a wonderful way to spend a day and Jesus answered all my questions. You will not be disappointed - very fun trip!
The experience was mostly about shopping at expensive tourist-oriented stores . There was time spent unwisely at a street looking at a mural of skeletons , and at the restaurant (the guide fell took a siesta) , when we could’ve had time to visit the cathedral , and explore the malecón
Excellent driver and guide. PA system sometimes made it difficult to understand the guide. Well worthwhile.
Not entirely just in the city of Puerto Vallarta, but was very well explained. Food was very good Dave our guide was good Eddie the driver was good. It was an ok experience all the way around. For me I would have liked to learn more about the city itself.
Our tour guides Hugo and Omar were so courteous and respectful. It was very informative, the guide knows Vallarta very well. He explained everything in detail. I wish it would’ve lasted longer. A very pleasant experience, I would do it again and ask for Hugo and Omar.😊😊
Nexus rep convinced us to sign up for this tour because it was "the same" as the hop on hop off city bus tour which includes a tour to a chocolate factory. This tour gave us almost no freedom to do any shopping on the main Malecon boardwalk. We even got told "this is not a shopping tour" multiple times when we tried to go into the stores. Then we got driven to many selected stores including a candy store, leather shop, jewelry shop, lunch in the mountains (we bought "platter for 2" to split for our whole family and it cost 1,350 pesos after tax and tip which is ridiculously expensive). My kids were exhausted. They told us the tour would be 7 hours and it took 10. For a few of the stops my kids were asleep and we asked to stay on the bus with them but were told we need to get off every time. Lastly the tequila shop was cool but the alcohol was way overpriced. And no, we didn't get to see the chocolate factory. I was sad for my kids that this trip was exhausting, expensive, and took an entire day away from our holiday.
This tour is a must do. My tour guide was absolutely amazing! He was kind, witty, and full of historical knowledge. There are many sites to see that I wouldn’t have been able to see on my own. This is a great way to start the vacation.
This was a great city tour. Everything went well and the tour guide was great! The best part of the tour was Cirque de Sole!
The tour and information was second to none. We have been to PV many times and learned so much on this tour. Fantastic value for your money. Thanks again to our tour guide, driver and our host for lunch ! Hats off to Miguel!
It's not a kid friendly tour. Maybe ages 8 and over. Beside that it was great. First time in Puerto Vallarta and I will be returning again
Daniel was great! He knew so history about the area and was able to us so much! We loved the walking tour and the trip to the tequila distillery was a lot of fun. He was helpful and patient with us when hill walking got tough. The ride was smooth and the pickup and drop off were easy. When we went to lunch the food was awesome. I would highly recommend this tour to others.
Miguel and Jorge were exceptionally good in guiding and giving us city tour. Very knowledgeable and Jorge is a very good driver. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed our tour guide Adam. He explained things very well as passing. I wish we had less time at the jewelry and leather store because I would have enjoyed that time at a beach somewhere. The education at the tequila factory was awesome even though I don't drink tequila it was interesting.
The van was toooo cramped and no consideration for a person with special needs. We got off before the tour began.
Take the tour, miguel and partner took us all over PV. The tour is worth its price . Both guide and driver are kind and trust worthy. Took the tour today with my wife and enjoyed it. Thank You Reviera tour for a safe and enjoyable tour of PV. Keep up the good work ..
This tour is very mediocre. you can actually give yourself a better tour of the board walk by exploring it at your own pace and take pictures at your own pace. Trying to get pictures of the big "Puerto Vallarta" attraction is next to impossible in a large group The bathroom break at the local government building is just uugh!!; Very dirty bathrooms. Then the walk to the Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church is one you can do on your own. They skip all the restaurants on the boardwalk to drive you miles away into a secluded corner for lunch where they claim you get the freshest sea food and chicken in town but be prepared to break the bank here. It is too expensive for what you get. BTW internet is spotty so if you plan to pay by card, be ready for some awkward situations. Card payments won't work if internet is down (which you get told about in the long bus trip there). Then over to the Tequilla distillery right across and boy oh boy! they see tourists and $$$$. You get a BS presentation and some sampling and then all they want to do is SELL!!!. Its definately not worth the $30 per person. If you have to go, skip the lunch and carry snacks to keep you going till you get back to your hotel. You'd be best served spending the lunch $$$ at the hotel for dinner. I'll give two dots as a courtesy to the guide.
The tour was fantastic!! We had wonderful time. The tequila tour to the food was a great experience. We will definitely go again
Driver is excellent 5 start, and pleasant tour guide is pleasant and 5 star. However, we only went to 3 places: silver, leather, and candy store where we spent 25 min in each store. No other stores allowed for us to wander off to even when we were not interested in that store.
Great trip. Miguel is a good guide and Felipe was an excellent driver. Very detailed explanation of the city. Went above and beyond our expectations. The cost was worth it.
The tour overall was good! Adam/Adan was great, he was very engaging and fun. The Malecon walk was short but okay. The scenic ride to lunch and tequila tasting was great, good food too. Pro tip: if you're a foodie, skip the lunch option and order food directly from the restaurant, much more yummy options, but if you're a quickie, the lunch option included is okay as well. Thumps up! Keep it up.
The entire City tour was excellent our tour guide which I can't remember His name was excellent and informative and very funny gentleman Which made the entire trip much more fun
Needs to add an an activity mango pockup and do not take to jwellary shop it's a rip off other then that excellent
Three families, strangers at the start of the day, bonded over our shared disappointment from Riviera TT “City Tour” (aka sponsored shopping trip with mandatory stops at a jewelry, leather, and tequila store). We only had 15 minutes in actual Puerto Vallarta Malecon and shopping area… You had to be quick with your camera if you wanted a peek of the beach on the hwy drive to the Tequila place & restaurant, no slowing down or stops along the way! Turning lemons into lemonade, we ended the day with our own adventure, sharing street tacos in an alleyway. The restaurant they chose for us was more $$ we didn’t want to spend. I felt bad for the family with 3 young kids in tow - they were told that lunch was included, which it wasn’t. We made the best out of this #TourFail #PuertoVallarta
Luis the driver and Miguel the tour guy were very knowledgeable and helpful we enjoyed the city tour.
The tour was well worth the 20$/price. Our guide Miguel was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the city he grew up in. As a man in his 60’s he has seen the transition from a fishing town to a large city dominated by tourism. He shows you the different “faces” of the city, as well as the surrounding countryside along the coastal highway. The lunch, which we paid for separately at Gringo Jerry’s OK Corral, was delicious and enough food for two meals. Don’t be fooled by the name. Luis was a very good driver and also very friendly.
Delay being picked up from our meeting point, lunch/food was horrible, other then was a good tour could have had more attractions/sightseeing.
Great time, great food, great drinks and lots of information. We really enjoyed the day and we would do again. Thank you!
it was so hard to find the tour they said the would be at the cruise dock they was not there then i had a call because ship time was an hour early then dock time but they called me and said not to worry they will wait since they seen ship was coming in latter but they told me go across the street to the gas station that said oxcl or something like that i said i was there but there was know escort then finally the excort came and said we were suppuse to go arould the corner on the other side to that gas station first of all we dont even know that place why werent that at the dock then we got tour about 11 or little after it was suppose to me and 8 hr tour they took us back in 4 and a half hours the tour was not good we were on a goble stone street most of the time and the escort was not attentive we could hardly hear what he was saying then when we went to the tequila factory they didnt seem to want to give us a good tour either the food was ok but to a while was not happy about this tour at all
Highly recommend this city tour. After a convenient hotel pickup, we learned about the city from a professional guide while visiting sites like the Malecón, the Municipal Palace, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, the artisans' market, and a tasting at a tequila distillary. We saw the Vallarta letters and other sculptures on the boardwalk. We also went to a jewelry store which sold beautiful silver and opal pieces. We had lunch at a hillside restaurant away from the city, near a beautiful river. We met the chef, Doña Rosa, and had a delicious fresh fish dinner and margharita. Our driver was Omar and our tour guide was Miguel. They were great. Miguel had an extensive knowledge of the history of the area and answered all the questions we had. He was very friendly and was able to provide personal stories of growing up in the area. The van was air conditioned and very comfortable.
We had a fantastic time! Adam and Aldo were perfect hosts! Adam was very knowledgeable and witty! Very engaging with all the guests on the tour!
Not family with children but with 90 y/o mom in wheel chair ! The attention our mother got from Elfonso the tour guide and Luis our driver was outstanding. As well, the other guests on the bus were so accommodating. The tour was much more than I ever expected. A great overall introduction to PV with highlights of most popular areas, Mercado Municipal, The jewellery shop, Los Arcos view point and shopping, plus all the way to and past Mismaloya. Elfonso was very knowledgeable regarding many things besides the tour highlights. The bus was airconditioned and the seats very comfortable. I really enjoyed the unique out of the way restaurant. Definitely recommend anyone to relive our day
This tour was awesome! Beautiful sights and places, educational, shopping opportunities, tequila tasting, lovely lunch spot! Tour guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and made it fun, and driver Luis did a great job and was so courteous. Highly recommend this. I would do it again!
Very good price for what you get! Tequila tasting was good! Nice introduction to the romantica zone. Was expecting to go to a restaurant at night but that never happened but was still happy with the excursion:)
This was advertised as a CITY TOUR but was actually a shopping trip 😡 with long stop at jewelry factory, then a long stop at the leather factory. We did get to see and spend 15 minutes at the cathedral. Did have a good lunch in the middle of no where 🤔. Then visited the tequila factory which was interesting. I thought it was more historical and city knowledge but I was wrong. If you love to shop THIS is the tour for you. It was from 10am and got back at my hotel at 6pm.
Miguel and Louis were excellent tour guides. Miguel brought the history of PV and area to life. He was extremely informative on the day to day life of Mexicans today. Yes, it has a shopping element, but you are free to partake or not. Boy, did Louis get us out of a rock and a hard place!!! Excellent driver. Great restaurant in a typical village for lunch. A really enjoyable day.
Besides not seeing much of the “city”, we waited at every stop well beyond the time allocated and so it was a very annoying and frustrating tour… not worth your time. It did not start well when the bus was an hour late from the time designated for pickup. We waited 30 minutes for a bathroom break 15 minutes into the tour. We waited for people getting ice coffees when that wasn’t even a stop. We waited 30 minutes for 20 people in our group to get fruit from a single street vendor. We waited an hour for people to shop for silver jewelry when our guide said 20 minutes. We waited 1.5 hours for people to eat lunch. We waited for people to shop for tequila. We waited and waited and waited. Additionally we had both Spanish and English people on our 30+ passenger bus and they would talk when our guide was giving information in English… loud enough that we couldn’t hear him. Because our guide had to speak both Spanish and English we felt we may have missed out on things that could have been shared while walking/driving by places. We would recommend to the company they offer a bus for English only or Spanish (or other languages) only per tour. We also thought this was a “City Tour” but the majority of the time was spent driving in the country along to coast to the small village where we had lunch and the tequila factory. We had already booked a tour to see much of that area, so this was also frustrating. Sadly we hardly saw any part of the “city” of Puerto Vallarta on this tour.
The parts of the tour we experienced was great. We missed an hour of the tour because of issues on your end and was compensated with a bottle of wine. We were transferred to another tour company to complete the tour.
The pick up time was delayed due to traffic issues. I was upset that the pick up was delayed. The tour guide apologized and off we went! This tour was amazing! The tour guide was great and very informative! We were chaperones at each stop and enjoyed a great lunch that was included. Highly recommend this tour and would not hesitate to do it again!
Horrible shopping based tour. You will spend most of your 6 hour day going to the stores they want you buying from (tequila tasting, jewelery buying, and leather buying). Not much culture or history. So if you want to learn sometging about Puerto Vallarta or be free-ish to walk the city forget about this one.
very good , and pickup on time and drop off on time, nice service, on line booking a simple and give us good price.
Had a fabulous day with lots of history and laughs. A wonderful lunch and tequila tasting. Alfonso and Alfredo were wonderful guides with tons of knowledge and personality. Highly recommend for a full day!’
Our tour guide Miguel knew the city inside and out, history and dates and all. We appreciate his flexibility when we couldn't stay for the entire tour (due to our cruise ship departure time), and he helped us navigate the city before we had to go. It would be helpful if the tour company can post the exact places and spots (with addresses) of where the tour would go, so those with a time deadline could plan accordingly. The communication was excellent, calling and helping us find the pickup meeting spot.
Relaxing but fun and informative also. Wonderful, knowledgeable guide, too. Comfortable bus ride with AC. We loved learning more about the area and visiting the sights. Lunch was delicious, as well.
