This captain will work hard for you and is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Cheers to the captain and first mate.

Fernando was amazing! Ten out of ten would recommend going with a group of people very patient and shows you all the great spots for fishing
Fernando was great, both of them (captain and deck hand). While this isn’t one of the hot fishing months for the bay we had a marvelous time. We caught some fish, eat delicious fresh guacamole and had a couple of drinks. I would do this trip again. The boat was simple but very clean and well maintained, as was the fishing gear. As noted on the booking, there is no bathroom on board, and finding one on dock required purchasing from a business as they are only for customers, so don’t over do the offered beverages.
Fernando Sr. and Fernando Jr. were a fantastic crew! My wife and I went just the two of us in March 2025 and had a blast. The boat and marina were very easy to find and navigate to. We learned a lot about Puerto Vallarta, caught fish inshore in the offseason, got to snorkle, and even see several whales breach! Fernando's guacamole may be the best we've ever had. They were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating for what we wanted out of the tour. Ashley was also very responsive with all prior communications as well.
Over all an amazing experience. Do not recommend drinking to many margaritas the day before. Very seasick! No one's fault but mine lol. They were absolutely amazing very knowledgeable in fishing and the land learned a lot about the area. Caught some fish but nothing crazy big. Offered drinks and chips and salsa. Would definitely recommend to others. Had a great time. Thank you
The team was great and very helpful! Unfortunately Mother Nature wasn’t helping us. We didn’t catch any keepers due to several things, nothing that the team could have done anything about. We even saw other boats that didn’t catch anything. I would recommend this team but definitely during a better season. The team still made the trip memorable and the weather was great.
Wow! Great staff and Boat! Caught a couple of fish too. ( Tuna and Amberjack ) Smooth day and really enjoyed the whole experience!
Great Fishing Guide, sure did not disappoint. Fast trip out to the fishing area sand a nice ride back to the dock in front of the resorts.
Fernando and Mitzon were fantastic from meeting us at the dock to our goodbye. Their boat is open air, but the large covering allowed us coverage from the intense sun. They set-up the fishing lines and gave great instructions. We hooked something right away, but it broke free with the line at the boat. It was clear they were using all of their knowledge to find the best spots. The hospitality was fantastic. They gave us space but checked in to ensure we had what we needed in drinks and made us fantasti, fresh guacamole. We had great conversation, and it is clear their pride for Puerto Vallarta is strong. We had a fantasy day on the water. We would all recommend and use them again for a cruise, fishing, or excursion.
Unfortunately we didn’t catch a single fish…just birds. Birds kept stealing the bait. Guacamole was good. Glad drinks were included but hard to indulge without a bathroom onboard🤪. Guides were great. Not a bad experience , just disappointing to not catch a single fish.
The crew was great. I got sea sick and they were great about taking us in early. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fish.
Fernando was an awesome host. We caught quite a few fish, nothing huge, but we are in the off season. It was a lot of fun to pull anything in. great vibes, clean boat, delicious guac,. reasonable price. Couldn't ask for much more.
The crew was patient and great with kids. We had a great day! It was easy to get to and from the marina, the iguanas were very cool in the area, and the boat was perfect for 4 hours.
If I could give the team and this excursion more than 5 starts I would! They got us on fish right away and my husband and I both caught a lot! I know it's called fishing and not catching but the crew is so knowledgeable that they will definetly get you to where the fish are. They had a variety of beverages on board and they made us the best guacamole we have ever tasted! I definetly reccomend this amazing fishing charter!
Went out with Captain Fernando and Mixon, our fishing trip was absolutely amazing. My kiddos thought they would catch 1-3 fish and they caught fish in the double digits. Lots of laughs and fun stories. Fernando and Mixon are the absolute best, funny, professional, great service and just simply awesome. The boys kept an alligator fish and had it cooked for lunch at Sticky Fingers. Pretty cool. Highly recommend taking the private tour, our family totally enjoyed our trip.
Lovely morning on the water. Capt. Fernando and mate Mitsuny spoke perfect English and made the best guacamole. Would hire them again in a heartbeat!
We went out with Fernando and crew in the slow part of the season when the whales were spawning and these fellas still put us on fish. With bites every 25-30 minutes we caught 3 bonito and 1 beautiful mahi mahi in 4 hours of fishing. Amazing company and hospitality I will use vida Bella everytime I come back to puerto Vallarta. Was amazing to find the passion for fishing across the globe. Thanks for the experience!
Our guides were super nice always happy. Shared lots of cool places to check out. We caught a fish in the first minute with the pole in the water. No maji maji but that’s just fishing.
Wonderful guys who own & run this boat. Super accommodating and kind. They really try hard to make your day special. You won’t regret meeting them for a day on the bay!!
Went out with this lovely father-son duo for a 4 hour morning. Sadly we didnt catch anything and our young kids werent feeling well. No fault of the guys. They were so kind, accommodating, and doing everything possible to ensure a fun and comfortable day. Would recommend!
The guides were very knowledgeable and professional. Snacks, drinks, and guacamole were provided on the trip. The only downside was that we didn’t catch any fish after several hours in the bay. We didn’t get any bites, which was disappointing, but we understand this happens sometimes.
Although the fishing wasn’t great to no fault of the tour guide/captain the day of the trip, the captain and staff made sure the experience was still memorable! Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
Fernando our captain and Nixon were amazing! We learned about the mountains and town of Peurto Vallarta. They both know alot of history of the area too so it was educational for us and the kids. We caught alot of fish on our tour! More then we could eat and share. We added to our fishing tour day. We were lucky enough to snorkel, and see the Los Arces, and cook the fish we caught on the private beach of Animas, jumped off pier, and enjoyed afternoon eating and drinking. All had a fantastic time!! Thank you so much Fernando and Nixon for a fabulous day! We highly recommend this tour!
Great crew - on time and very hospitable. BUT a known red tide = No fish. Company should have advised and offered to cancel/refund.
Booked a day fishing trip for my 2 daughter’s and grandsons They had the time of their lives. Fernando and partner took great care of them. Caught plenty of fish and treated all of them like royalty especially the young boys Also serve great margaritas! We will be back
Unforgettable experience with my fiancé! Surprised fishing tour for my birthday and it was a beyond exceptional day. Tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and hospitable throughout the whole day. We saw a collection of different animals, from humpback whales, manta rays, Bonita fish, variety of birds, and of course the best catch of the day - Mahi Mahi! They provided us with snacks, fresh guac, and margaritas throughout the day. At the end of the trip, they cleaned/filet our fish and we took it back to our hotel to get it cooked.
Such a good tour! We saw so much wildlife including humpbacks, manta rays, and all kids of interesting birds. The hosts were so hospitable and knowledgeable to the area. Very professional and kind. We had also only been fishing one other time so we needed a lot of assistance when catching the big fish but they were extremely patient with us and helped us catch a 25 pound mahi mahi! Would highly recommend!
Fernando and his friend are passionate about fishing and enjoy sharing that experience with their fishing charter. He has great customer service and is willing to go the extra mile to make it a memorable trip. Anytime I got to the ocean I will charter a fishing boat. This by far was one of my more memorable trips. If you are looking for a fishing trip I highly recommend captain Fernando
This was an awesome experience!!! The captain, Fernando, and Nixon were excellent guides. They have a ton of experience and knowledge with fishing and helped us land a huge Toro fish! That fish put up a fight and they were right there to help us land it! They were excellent hosts and provided us with whatever we needed: fishing poles, snacks, drinks, as well as all of the interesting facts and history about PV. A great experience, clean boat and masked staff, we could not have asked for anything more. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. Cant wait to book my next trip with them again.
Fernando and Nixon are awesome guides! We had an unlucky morning only catching one Bonita fish as we were trolling in but Fernando tried his hardest to chase down activity in the water. Fish or no fish, we had an amazing time on the boat. Fernando and Nixon made sure we had everything we needed, a few Coronas and some good music. I highly recommend this trip to others. As two females traveling, I was slightly concerned about the location for pick up being at a resort no longer in business, but the area was very safe and Fernando was on time at the location so it was a easy meet up. Best luck catching!!
There should be more effort into catching fish. Or maybe ask the customers if they are more interested in catching or drinking and snacking. We met at 9 am and by the time we were on the water fishing it was 930. That is too late for trying to really catch some fish. We should've been on the water since 7 am. Not sure if they kept trying to mask the fact that we weren't catching anything with margaritas and beer, but for the moment it worked because I got off the boat pretty drunk. But my husband was disappointed that we only caught one fish that we could actually "keep". It's hard to believe that in such a huge body of water we couldn't catch anything.
Absolutely amazing! Fernando and Nixon were sweet and really knowledgeable of all the great fishing spots and history/areas surrounding Puerto Vallarta. Great guacamole! After fishing we were able to go to Las Animas and had the fish we caught cooked for lunch, so good! And our last stop of the day was Los Arcos where we were able to go snorkeling. When we return we will without doubt use La Vida Bella for our next boat excursion.
Excellent tour , very attentive to all our needs. Very knowledgeable of the fishing area. The capitan and the assistant were very friendly and respectful.
Our 4 hour tour with La Vida Bella was one of the highlights of our trip to PV. Fernando and Nixon were a friendly and helpful crew. The boat was spotlessly clean and comfortable for our family of three. There were plenty of snacks, guacamole, beers and margaritas as well. Unfortunately we didn't have much luck with the fish (it was the off season) but we still really enjoyed seeing the sights and wildlife, including several turtles, while we were out on the ocean. Booking online through this site was very easy, and the departure point was just a short walk from our hotel in the Marina. Would highly recommend using La Vida Bella for your PV excursion!
My family of 4 had the best time fishing. We only did the 4 hour tour but it was just the perfect amount of time for us. We didn’t catch any giant fish but everybody had a great time reeling in Bonita, Mackeral and Other medium fish. My tween son lost a few fish at first but Fernando was patient and taught him how to reel in the fish and he ended up bringing in the biggest fish of the day. Fernando and his son Fernando made sure we were comfortable, safe and were fantastic, wonderful hosts. The boat was clean and stocked with beer, water, sodas and they even made fresh squeezed margaritas. They new all about Puerto Vallarta and gave us some history and geography lessons too which was awesome! This is not part of a larger touristy type company. It is just Fernando and his son and I loved that. He wasn’t a big company trying to sell photos or tshirts. It really was about the fishing experience and he made sure we all had a great time.
My husband, FIL, father, and son went on this trip and they had a wonderful time. This is a father/son team and they work super hard to make sure you have a good time. They were very nice, attentive and informative. The father speaks English well and the son is working on it. They didn't have a lot of luck catching fish (I think they ended up bringing home two), but it wasn't exactly prime fishing season. The boat was clean and the refreshments provided were plentiful. You can feel good supporting this business.
The captain and crew we’re very professional informative and very very fun to be with couldn’t have asked for a better time. Also the guacamole and drinks were awesome
We had a great time. Captain Fernando and his fist mate were excellent in every way. Great Margaritas and Guacamole! Caught a ton of fish!
Fernando and his son took great care of us. We had a lot of fun, and the boat was very comfortable. They were excellent hosts. Loved the lime margaritas and guacamole! We will be back!
We had a day of laughs, laughs, drinks, fishing, whale watching, dolphin spotting, more drinks, dancing and more laughs. It was an amazing girls day on the boat with the Fernando's. We caught a few little fish but made huge memories that will last us ladies a life time. Our amazing guides were kind and played along with our crazy shenanigans. Fernando educated us on the whales behaviors and spotted the best dolphin families. We stepped onto the boat slightly leery about what the day would hold but we stumbled off having the time of our life. Peeing in the bucket was the cheery on top! We highly recommend spending a day with these guys on the ocean.
