We originally booked a private boat tour to Yalapa with Fernando & Mixon but upon arrival they suggested we checkout another small fish town instead since the waterfall at Yalapa was not currently flowing. We are so glad we took their advice. An hour long boat ride and we arrived at the town of Quimixto where Mixon lead us on a adventure of horseback riding up to a waterfall with a small restaurant and swimming hole. On the way back to PV, we stopped at another beach town where we enjoyed more margaritas and parasailing. Fernando & Mixon were awesome, this was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Great experience visiting Yelapa. The captain and his mate are a father/son combo who were very polite and accommodating. Their patience with my family of 5, children ages 14, 7, and 5, was very much appreciated. I was also pleasantly surprised when the captain took us on a personal tour of the town and up to the town's water fall, which I was not expecting. The cost of this private tour is well worth it for peace of mind and relaxation. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely amazing trip!! The Captain and his crew were great!! Worth every cent! We will definitely be back!
Very disorganized. We left 40 minutes late. Breakfast was cold and tasteless scrambled eggs with chips. The snorkeling was fine. We arrived in Yelapa and had to wait for the folks who were paying for extra ATV or horseback rides to disembark. On the surface, that seems reasonable but, by the time we got to the beach there were no more umbrellas and chairs available. We were told to go have lunch. Not a great option, since we just had breakfast. But then we were told lunch would be another wait. We ended up sitting in the resteraunt . It felt like because we didn't pay for extra excursions we were abandoned. Finally, lunch. It was drab, really. On the ride back the entertainment was very loud through horribly cracked speakers. . The reviewcrew and some of the passengers engaged in mimicking explicit perverted sexual acts. I wont describe this. It was outrageous and children were there. On the way home we discovered the tequila was watered down. I know this is a horrible. It fits the day.
Fernando and George were fantastic. Glad we did the private boat instead of the larger group tours. They were accommodating and made the trip special.
Highly recommend this trip. Fernando and Mitzan were amazing and so nice and accommodating. The waterfall and the church were beautiful.
The crew and boat gave me and my family an amazing experience! The hike to the waterfall and trip leading up to it were all joyful. We also came across whales when heading back to shore from the trip which was a great end to the whole adventure. Highly recommend this. Just a note. I went with my family and parents who are in their 60s/70s. They’re in good shape and were able to handle the physical moments jumping in/out of the boats when needed. Just a call out for others traveling with older folks to make sure they’re in good shape :)
Fernando was awesome and the trip was fun, the boat ride amazing and Yelepa is beautiful. The only thing that annoyed me was the horse ride that we booked. The little kid who led the horses kept asking me for money all the way up to the waterfall. I gave him a tip at the waterfall and then he kept asking me for money all the way back down so I tipped him again at the end of the horse ride. For this reason I would not recommend the horse ride to the waterfall but that has nothing to do with Fernando or his tour. He was amazing and his tour is awesome. Don't hesitate to book it.
Fernando (the owner) is really nice and fun and he does everything to make your trip amazing. I have booked that boat several times on different routes and have the best time every time. I highly recommend this boat
I will validate what so many have already said. This is an amazing tour and Fernando is one of the most hospitable people I've met and a terrific host. We stopped for a quick snorkel on the way to Yelapa and had lunch on the beach after the waterfall. Amazing!!! We never felt rushed to move. Lunch service took extra long due to crowds but since we were on our own boat, there was no hurry. We will be back to do it again! Thank you!!!
The captain and co captain was amazing. They explained everything they were doing and going to do it was an awesome experience.
This was our 3rd trip with Fernando and it did not disappoint. It is always the highlight of our trip. The past 2 times we have actually been staying in Sayulita and drive all the way back to the marina in Puerto Vallarta just to go on his tour. His little touches like the homemade margaritas and guacamole help make the trip extra special. He is a wonderful host. We really enjoyed his tour of Yelapa and hunting down the best coconut pie!
Had the best day with Fernando & Fernando! Super nice tour guide and captain. Fernando gave us a tour of the town/ walked us up to the waterfall. It was gorgeous. The people at Domingos in Yelepa were kind, and the food was amazing. Would recommend to anyone.
If you're looking for the best private boat charter in Vallarta, you have certainly found it! Fernando and his son were fantastic hosts for our adventure south of Vallarta. Booking via their website was prompt and efficient. Ashley was a pleasure to work with, she was so accommodating with our beer and snack preferences and requests! There were only 4 of us on this trip, but the boat had plenty of space for several more. The boat was clean, comfy, and well equipped. 10/10, I am sending all my friends to La Vida Bella. Our trip began with Fernando picking us up at Los Muertos pier. He was on time, and ready to go as soon as we arrived. The cruise down to Yelapa was wonderful! With a few shots of Tequila in our system, we arrived to the beautiful picturesque Playa Yelapa. After a beautiful lunch on the beach, Fernando toured us through the town and up to the waterfall. After Yelapa, we cruised over to Playa Majahuitas and snorkeled in the area. We saw a wide range of fish and I even saw a beautiful spotted stingray. The final stop of the day was Playa Las Animas. There we sat on the beach, had a light snack, and enjoyed the ocean and light music from the locals. I mentioned the gracious flexibility of Fernando on this trip. We initially thought 6 hours would be sufficient, but we ended up nearly 9 hours on the boat because we were having so much fun that we didn't want to leave. Do yourself a favor and book with La Vida Bella... You will forever remember this amazing adventure!
Highly recommend a tour with Fernando and Fernando. We our very COVID careful and choose a private tour for safety reasons. Fernando and Fernando were phenomenal tour guides. Boat was clean and well taken care of. They wore masks the entire time. They were timely, attentive to all of our needs. As soon as we finished a water or beer, they had another one in our hands. Ashley helped set us up and arranged to pick us up at a tour closer to our hotel. We booked the day tour to Yelapa, but highlight of the day was definitely whale watching. Fernando saw that this was what we were most excited about and made sure to give us ample time whale watching. We saw two humpback whales breach 40 feet from our boat! A one in a lifetime experience. Will absolutely book again with them next visit.
Best. Tour. Ever In Puerto Vallarta. I have taken many tours over the years. This year, with the pandemic, I wanted to be safe and still take my guests to Yelapa. We decided on a private tour. I contacted several companies and Ashley replied immediately. She answered all my questions and offered me an excellent price for her 6 hour private tour. We had the boat to ourselves along with captain Fernando and his mate Fernando! They made us comfortable, fed us, served drinks, played great music, and stopped for the all important whale viewing. Fernando has quite an eye for sighting playful whales. Once in Yelapa, they made sure our transfer from boat to beach was swift and DRY!. They walked with us up to the falls, literally carrying my 90-year-old mother when the climb became too much for her. They were so good to her and to us. They have an agreement with Domingo's restaurant where the food and drink is excellent. I do not think you can go wrong with any restaurant on the beach really. But I will never book anyone but La Vida Belle Tours. Thank you Ashley, y Fernando, y Fernando!
Fernando is the perfect guide. Goes above and beyond to ensure you have an enjoyable day, and leaves the pace and specifics of time spent at each activity entirely up to you. Super knowledgeable host as well. Walk to waterfall was very cool, and beach time on the island of Yelapa was very relaxing and fun. The boat ride out there is about an hour each way, and the entire journey is just beautiful. Highly recommend. We will be back - thank you Fernando and his helper Christian also super friendly and makes a great margarita!
that was awesome trip! guides are extremely friendly and helpful. great place for snorkeling with a lot of fish all different kinds, very pretty places! we took 20 min walk to the waterfall with our 5 yo kids. I left my heart ❤ their! we could sneak through the waterfall and enjoy swimming under! and we was not worried about our stuff as the guide was taking care of it as well as helped to take videos and pictures! I loved it!
It was a great private boat tour, snorkeling was fantastic, and sea life was so present!! Just a great relaxing day on the ocean with Fernando. Everyone should enjoy a day with Fernando.
Another great expedition with Fernando. Always on time, attentive to details, great drinks, polite. We will be back again next year. Thank you.
Captain and mate were fantastic. Friendly and attentive. Good snorkeling and walk to water fall. Highly recommend.
Fernando and his crew mate (Fernando) provided an outstanding tour for our family. Our 4 kids absolutely loved their time on the Yelapa excursion. We also did the South Shore Excursion with Fernando and that too was excellent. From the moment we got onto the boat Fernando catered to our every needs including unlimited drinks and fun. Fernando is very nice and informative of Puerto Vallarta and the tour destinations. After one of our tours my wife misplaced her cell phone. We called Fernando and he went back to his boat and searched for the phone. We can't say thank you enough for not only offering such a fantastic tour but also for being so nice. Leaving him was like leaving a family member. Yelapa is such a beautiful village that is only accessible by boat. Experiencing such an authentic Mexican village, where the residents live the ways of the past, was a once in a life time experience. The food their was delicious and the beach was outstanding
I researched a lot of options and read several reviews but definitely made the right decision! Fernando and Bobby were outstanding, accommodating, informational and so much fun! We took 4 adults and 5 teenagers. Although they came fully stocked with margaritas, we opted for the homemade lemonade and it was delicious. We saw and swam in two private beaches, snorkeled, fed fish, visited the small village of Yelapa (even had a rain the night before and saw the waterfall). We had a great day! It’s a full day but SO worth it.
