The boat ride with Captain Eric and Chema thank you, it was absolutely fabulous! I think I took a boat ride with them two years ago, and they were they were great that trip as well. I read all the reviews first and they had the best ones, and all the reviews were right. Definitely come on their boat the Mona Lisa with them!

Chema and Arel were fantastic! It was great to get out of the city and experience the water, local town feel, and views of the area. Snorkeling in Los Arcos we saw eels, schools of fish, and coral. The town of Yalapa was wonderful. Fantastic homemade food and friendly local people. I would recommend this to anyone looking to experience more than just the big city tourism of Puerto Vallarta. They provided snorkeling gear, a cooler, and some great stories about life in PV! Being on the boat just the four of us on the water made our trip. Best empanadas the whole visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Yelapa with Chewie (captain) and Chema (host). For us snorkeling for an hour was amazing along with seeing around 20 turtles on the way. Highly recommended and booking directly with Estigo Tours was easy to work with!
We had an absolutely incredible time on our snorkeling/hike/waterfall tour! Chuy was the BEST guide and made the experience so memorable! From his knowledge of the area and interesting tid bits (hello Elizabeth Taylor) to making the entire trek with us barefooted, it was incredible. At one point he made an amazing video of us enjoying our surroundings and it was perfect. The beauty we got to witness and the off the beaten path stops made it by far the best day of our time in PV! Do not sleep on this one!
I would give 100 stars if I could! This was def the highlight of our stay in PVR and shouldn't be missed. Chuy was a great guide, both friendly and knowledgeable. The variety of experiences left everyone in our group happy.
We had a lovely relaxing day with Chema and Ariel taking the boat to Los Arcos and exploring around the rocks. Afterwards we visited the small town area of Yelapa to visit a waterfall. Continued on to the main beach where we had lunch and enjoyed the view and watched the activity on the beach. Chema adapted the day for us as my husband has some difficulty walking for long periods of time. He was very caring and thoughtful. We enjoyed the whole day and highly recommend the experience!
Chama and Jesús (our boat crew) were great! They were very helpful and we had a really nice conversation with Chama on the way over. Snorkeling was good — Los Arcos was a bit crowded, however. Masks and J-tubes were provided but it would have been nice to have flippers. Yelapa consisted mostly of vendors; food at Tino’s Oasis was pretty good. The waterfall was nice (small but picturesque), requiring a bit of a rocky uphill hike through yet more vendors to get there. Overall, I’d recommend this trip.
This day was so special. My friend and I did the private tour. We felt like kings. Our guide greeted us and made us feel special. I loved the snorkel adventure and swimming with all the fish at our first stop. My favorite part was spending time on the beach in Yelapa after the waterfall hike. We had drinks and relaxed on lounge chairs. Our server was so attentive and friendly. Yelapa is a hidden gem away from all the crowded tourist sections of PV. I would do this tour again in the future. Working with Estrigo and Gonzalo was easy and everything was perfect.
I booked the Yelapa tour and had the best experience! Chima and Manuel were absolutely awesome. Chima was an incredible tour guide—knowledgeable, fun, and made sure everyone was having a great time. Yelapa was stunning, and I especially loved the hike to the waterfall. After that, we stopped for lunch and got to relax on the beach, which was the perfect way to unwind. From start to finish, we were completely taken care of. One of my favorite parts was the ride back—we got to play our own music and just enjoy the vibes. Highly recommend this tour and Estigo Tours!
Took private Yelapa boat tour and snorkeling with Mona Lisa!! Chema, Poppa Boxer and Angel were the best crew! Exceptional tour! Beautiful scenes! Chema was very informative on the history of this great place! I would book with them again!
My family and I had an amazing time. We opted for a private boat tour to avoid the party boat mentality with our daughter. We are so glad we did. Chema and the boat captain were great. Chema took the time to teach us about PV and the surrounding area. We went at our own pace and Chema offered several options about what we wanted to do. We snorkeled at Los Across and then went on to the beach. We relaxed, had lunch and went swimming in the ocean. A highlight of our vacation.
All of PV is amazing but this adventure will go down as one of the most unforgettable experiences for our large group of 32! The staff was so fun and professional! Our water stop was private and safe. We snorkeled, kayaked, lily pad, SUP board. Great food and drink. Yelapa is gorgeous and unexpected and takes your breath away. We hiked to the waterfall and played in the water. Hiked through the town and had time for lunch at a beachside restaurant. Back on the catamaran and the dance party started on our way back to PV! So much fun! We will never forget this day!
We simply wouldn’t trust our vacation plans to anyone but Estigo!!! We have used them for years for every wonderful excursion and have never been disappointed!!! This year we took 32 of our closest friends to PV and Gonzalo was beyond AMAZING!!! He made sure all of our arrangements were top notch and exceeded our expectations!! Estigo helped plan and execute three beautiful excursions for our spring break 2024 and amazed everyone with a week full of beautiful memories!!! Grateful does not even touch our sentiments!!! Thank you!!!!!😊🙌❤️
Husband and I took this private tour to Yelapa and had a wonderful laid back day. Chema hosted us and was very knowledgeable explaining the sights along the way and guided us to the famous waterfall.
What a blast. Chema and Manuel were so much fun! We had an amazing time! Highly recommended. Everything was great.
My wife and I booked this 6-hour + private tour to snorkel some of the sites south of Puerto Vallarta in the morning and then visit Yelapa for the rest of the afternoon. Our excellent guide, Chema and the boat Captain, Manuel met us at Los Muertos pier and were great in every way. They are knowledgeable about the region, very considerate, and pleasant. Chema studied marine biology so he was especially informative and speaks good English. The waters were a bit too choppy and murky for really good snorkeling but there were several varieties of fish in the sites we visited (Los Arcos and Majahuitas). The highlight of the trip however was swimming in the beautiful and refreshing waterfalls and the soaking up the very laid-back vibe in Yelapa. Chema and one of the local vendors in Yelapa also introduced me to a wonderfully flavorful, smoky, smooth mezcal called Raicilla. Formally a type of agave moonshine, it is now locally produced and distributed. Lunch at Fanny's, which is right on the beach, in Yelapa was also a treat. I would not hestitate to book Estigo Tours again and if you're lucky enough to have Chema and Manual as your guide and captain, you're sure to be in for a wonderful time.
Jonathan and Chema captain and they were wonderful. It was a surprise that my husband and I were the only passengers!! Snorkeling was awesome! It was a much needed relaxing time with my husband since we traveled with my mother who is 81, my sister and a caretaker. I would have put 5 stars, but I am a little spoiled with spectacular waterfalls in Monterrey Mexico. I am more of an ocean versus river woman. We had lunch at an adjoining beach. It was the most relaxing day we had! Both Jonathan and Chemo for fantastic. No complaints on my end!
Jonathan and Chema were our guide and boat captain both were awesome. We had a great time snorkeling, hiking to the waterfall and a great lunch on the beach. Appreciated the local tips and knowledge they offered. Do not hesitate to go with these guys. A great day on the water!
Great day spent with out Captain Chema and our boat driver. Started at 9:30 and hopped on the boat downtown PV. (Pro Tip: they have a cooler on board with water but you can bring your own drinks for the boat ride!) A short boat trip brought us to the Arches to snorkel. This was the first time snorkeling with our 8 and 12 year old. They did great. The location was pretty busy but still had plenty of space to see some pretty interesting fish and reef. Also lots of interesting birds to see if you take a break and look up! After snorkeling we took an approx 45 boat trip to Yelapa. Beautiful views all the way. Passed some fun landmarks. Hopped off boat at pier to hike to waterfall. Lots of sellers / vendors trying to sell items but that’s expected. They were respectful of “no”. Waterfall hike was easy. Did it in flip flops. Nice small pool to wade into under the waterfall. Spent about 15 minutes before returning down again. At bottom took boat over to beach for lunch. It’s clear everybody is working together-the tour guides, the water taxis, the restaurants…but everybody was pleasant and helpful. Spent about 90 minutes at lunch and the boarded water taxi back to boat for return trip. It’s a pretty long boat trip back. One kiddo slept. We did spot some dolphin-like pod! Very cool end to the trip. We were happy to have a couple towels, sunscreen, small $ bills (they ask for pesos, but USD was fine just not the best exchange rate), Backpack to carry items. Would definitely recommend. Kids especially loved it. Was a great intro to snorkeling and I k ow we will be doing it on future trips. We felt safe and taken care of by Chema.
We love this tour, so much so we've done it twice! This last time we actually did it on a Yacht! The boat tour was awesome but the yacht was on another level! We were treated like royalty and had a blast! This is a must-do!
My husband and I were the only ones on the boat. They tailored the tour to how much time we wanted to spend at each stop. We enjoyed the crew and the information they shared about the area and day to day life in PV. The area is gorgeous and the waterfall and town of Yelapa was an experience to see! Fun lunch at Fanny’s. Recommend this tour for those who want to see more of the area
Just back from a great day to Yelapa with Chema and Lorenzo as our guides. There were five of us, including my 80-year-old father. We came across a humongous school of dolphins and we rode with them for at least a half an hour. It was unbelievable! We had a great time snorkeling at Los Arcos, and Chema was very attentive to my father the entire time. We cannot recommend this tour company and these two gentlemen enough.
Chema and Lorenzo picked us up at the pier at the Malecon in Zona Romantica. They were experts, Chema was the charismatic tour guide and Lorenzo the perfect captain. They cared for us, set us up for an incredible coral reef snorkel at Los Arcos (amazing, with so many species of tropical fish), and then took us to Yalapa. Yalapa was an incredibly beautiful town. It was the dry season for rivers so we elected not to hike up to the nearly dry waterfall, but instead, we had lunch on the beach at Fanny's where we had lobster and catch of the day on the beach. It was AMAZING. This tour was so affordable and soooo worth it. Would do it again.
Absolutely the coolest tour! Nathan was amazing and he showed us some beautiful sites!!! He was so friendly and was very knowledgeable abt the tour and the history of Yelapa. I would do this in a heartbeat again!!!
