Premium Tequila Tasting Puerto Vallarta Distillery

we were walking by and happen to stumble upon this tequila tasting and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in PV. Saul was soo incredibly kind and funny. He walked us through all the different tequilas and spirits with his own special flare. We walked out of there a little wobbly but with a great memory and a few new amazing bottles of tequila.

If you’re in the area, go see Saul, seriously. We stopped in with a group of 14 for a complimentary tasting and ended up leaving with incredible tequila and custom engraved bottles. Saul made the whole experience unforgettable. What really stood out was that he started the tasting with the extra añejo instead of the usual blanco, which was genius. Getting to try the premium tequila first, with a fresh palate, made such a difference and really let the flavors shine. He also took the time to personally etch our bottles with custom designs and messages at no extra charge, which was such an awesome touch. Saul brings great energy, knows his tequila, and clearly cares about creating a memorable experience. Do yourself a favor and stop by, and definitely take care of him with a generous tip. He absolutely earns it!

If you’re interested in tequila, the Premium Tequila Tasting Puerto Vallarta experience at Vallarta Tequila Tastings is absolutely worth doing. Home to Puerto Vallarta’s only tequila distillery, they specialize in small-batch, high-quality tequila, and the entire tasting experience is both fun and incredibly informative. My teacher, Saul, was fantastic—very knowledgeable and passionate about tequila. He explained the entire production process in a way that was easy to understand, along with the differences between the various styles of tequila. We tasted six different types of tequila, each with its own unique character, and also sampled several flavoured tequilas. The coffee tequila was my personal favourite—smooth, rich, and dangerously good. One of the coolest parts of the experience was being able to personally engrave the bottle I purchased, which makes for a great souvenir or gift. If you want to learn more about tequila while tasting some excellent small-batch varieties, this is a fun, relaxed, and memorable experience in Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommended!

Saul was a great host. Super engaging and knowledgeable. The tasting was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend it for a fun midday activity.

We did a tasting on our trip this week. Was the highlight of our outings. Saul was the best.. and a must to get the best experience!! If you love or just like tequila a little you will learn alot and have a great time!!

The ability to come at any time during their business hours was super convenient. We ended up with a private tasting. Javi was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The tequila is very good. They will make a sales pitch (perfectly reasonable) but I wasn’t pushy at all. He also let us try multiple flavors more than once. The whole experience was a little less than an hour which gave us greater flexibility with our day in Puerto Vallarta

Having been to several distilleries in Tequila, I guess I was expecting a little more than just a miniature nonworking example of the process. It made me wonder where they actually produced the tequila and where their agave fields are. Although the tasting was good, the cost of the tequila was high and so we passed. Seems to be more of a “tourist trap” (because of the pricing and not a true distillery). But … the tour guide there was excellent!

Best Tequila tasting experience I’ve ever had! Beautiful setting, very high quality, small batch Tequila with zero additives, and Saule the host made the experience the highlight of our trip. Tasting came with a lime margarita, multiple flavoured Tequilas, in addition to the main Blanco through Extra Anejo. Would 100% recommend for anyone who enjoys quality tequila. Location is also great as it’s right in the middle of where you want to be for a great night out.

Well worth it! This is the second time I've done a tasting at Oscars. This time was a booking for 19 of us on a birthday trip. It's a beautiful space, conveniently located, the staff is attentive and accommodating, and the tasting is a really informative and FUN experience! Everyone had a great time!

I had a group of 15 people for my 60th birthday celebration. They were so accomadating. We were educated on good and bad tequilla as we were tasting a variety of tequilla. After the tasting we were able to order food and drinks. It was a great time.

We had a good time tasting all the different tequila's. The host was fun and informative. I would definitely do this again.

Saul was our guy, and if you do this tasting you have to ask for him. He was the best conductor on our tequila journey, teaching us the importance of the process of good small batch tequila and the differences between the good stuff and the popular stuff. Me and my wife learned so much and left feeling only slightly tipsy lol. It was awesome, we ended up buying a few bottles because we can’t get this kind of quality where we live. If you’re in the area this is a must! The tequilas were SO GOOD and so were the liqueurs! You have to try the coconut and the passion fruit, you won’t be disappointed. We loved this experience! This was such a fun activity to do in between walking around the boardwalk. Javiar was so knowledgeable about tequila and answered any and all questions that we had. It was such a fun experience and really had something for everyone- even if you are not the biggest tequila fan! It was so fun to learn about the differences in types of tequila. The flavored tequilas and liquors were personally my favorite part. You also can get the tequila you buy engraved which makes for such a fun souvenir.

Very interested. I learned a lot and it really made me enjoy the tequila more! I actually found out that I liked Reposados a little more when sipping and silvers for margaritas. I'd do this again, no hesitation.

We had a Great Time with Saul who taught us a lot about Tequila and was really fun y and entertaining. The tequila tasting was excellent.

We stopped into Oscar's tequila tasting and had a wonderful time! The tequila flowed freely, and we left with some amazing top shelf bottles. We learned a lot of interesting facts while having a blast. I will definitely return next time we are in Puerto Vallarta!

We’ve been here before and wanted to bring friends this time. Javier made the experience amazing! Tequila is top shelf, knowledge shared was fantastic, and the story telling was super entertaining. I should have read the reviews first. There is no need to buy the "expereince". For $15 you get nothing. You provide your own transportation and its a free tasting. You are just throwing your money away.

The tequila tasting was amazing! Totally worth the $15 per person. However, beware, the tequila and other liquor they sale is really expensive. They may say that it’s because of the quality, so forth and so forth, but it’s expensive. They don’t tell you the price before you buy, so for sure ask.

Would definitely recommend the tequila tasting at Oscars. Great quality tequila and knowledgeable staff who taught me a lot about tequila. If you have time after your tasting the restaurant is also excellent.

We had heard we needed to try the Racilla if we were visiting PV. We were on the Malecon and saw Oscars so we wondered down to the tasting area. Fransico was our host there and we had the best time! We were picturing a little tasting but we really walked away with a great experience. I learned so much about tequila and the varieties, and Racilla. We were able to try some of their flavored tequilas as well. We had a pre-teen with us and one of the other workers chatted with him and pointed out iguanas and even a crocodile in the river. What was going to be a boring hour waiting for adults turned into a great experience for him as well. It was so much fun for all of us, and we all brought home some bottles of tequila to remember our time there! Fransico made it so much fun!

JAVIER! He was amazing! So funny, gave insightful information about the history and origins of tequila. He made the experience so fun! The tequila was excellent but he was the best.
