Los Arcos Snorkeling & 5 Island Adventure

Perfect excursion for cruise ships. Cliff jumping and snorkeling with Uli was a blast.

I enjoyed this tour immensely. We met at the Mismaloya Xtreme office in Puerto Vallarta, which was very close to and convenient for us staying in the Zona Romantica. A shuttle driver drove us to Mismaloya, where we went on a boat and snorkelled around the beautiful small, boulder islands. It was so magical snorkelling through the tunnels and around the islands. The guides gave us some information about the unique bird species living on the islands. The number of brightly colouredfish was astounding. Later, they brought us to a small beach where we had another chance to snorkel. I declined to do the cliff jumping at the beginning, but most of our group did it and enjoyed it. The guides were professional friendly, and knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate to book this tour for a fun day on the water with magnificent snorkelling.

Our guide was excellent! He was super friendly, helpful, communicated well in both English and Spanish, and really made it a great time. My boyfriend got to jump off a cliff multiple times, we went snorkeling and got to see tons of fish including a sword fish, and also got brought to a gorgeous sandy beach before docking at our final destination. The tour came with a light snack and water and soda and included snorkeling gear and a life vest. We had a great time!!

Excellent service and more offer than expected, like the cliff jumping. The visit to the Dog beach was ok.

Pros: The tour itself was great! We went out and started with cliff jumping which was then followed up with a boat ride to los arcos where we snorkeled and saw all kinds of fish and sea life. We were given drinks on the boat after. We finished by going to a secluded beach and swimming for some time. The overall tour was fantastic, fun, safe, and a good time! We would absolutely recommend the tour again for the price Cons: The communication isn’t very good. The booking on viator said to meet at an OXXO by a gas station but then an hour before our tour we got a message to meet at a different location. This was difficult because we came from flamingos and it was a long uber ride we had to schedule before. They also stated in the viator booking we would be dropped off at Mismaloya beach and would have to find our own transportation however we were glad to discover they give us transportation back to their office in puerto Vallarta. Thankfully we were able to cancel our uber saving us about $20USD. Overall, great tour would recommend just need to be better in their office with communication

Our Tour guide Sebastian was amazing, he was very informative and kind. My group and I didn’t know how to swim and he accommodated for us. It was very beautiful, and looking at the fish was amazing. He also brought free water, and granola bars.

The whole staff was kind and welcoming—they took us to the rocks to dive off of, snorkeling then time on a beach. My advice is to go snorkeling at the beach one girl did that and got little fishies to eat plankton out of her hand! Also remember to tip your guides—they are supporting themselves and families and rely on tourists— They also shared a sashimi tostada snack and chips and drinks—- Bring a little cash to get snacks at the beach and a towel!

This was so much fun! Lucky us, we were the only one's on this tour, my friend and I and we had decided not to go swimming (water was a little chilly for us!) but the guide, Uli, and Captain Arnold took great care of us! We rode out to the 5 Islands and he crumbled granola bars into the water so the fish were SWARMING everywhere, right at the surface, it was better than an aquarium! We spent over an hour going around the different 'islands' and got alot of info about the history and bird life there, we even saw Blue Footed Boobies! Was a great tour, highly recommend!

This made our whole trip in PV! This was something my partner and I booked the night before as a last-second excursion to sneak in before we travelled back home, and we left feeling like we had made the best decision of our whole trip. Alexis, our guide, was funny, caring, and really made sure to make a real connection with everyone. The smaller group we had lead to a more personal and intimate experience; and to top things off, we saved a baby pelican that had fallen out of his nest into the ocean! It’s beyond affordable for what you’re getting for the 2 hour session! We will absolutely be returning next time we are here!

Plus: Fun boat trip with snorkeling and beach time. Great crew. Minus: The van lacked sufficient seat belts and no attachment points for a baby seat. No A/C. The life vests were in poor condition with broken buckles.

Uli and Pancho were amazing. I lost my sunglasses and Uli drove down and got them for me! Amazing service and such a fun adventure.

Alexis was an amazing tour guide! We saw so many fishes and a pod of dolphins! We felt very safe and Alexis brought snacks and drinks for the boat!

We had a great time. We showed up at the "office" super early and they got us on an earlier tour which was very nice.

We did the night time bioluminescence tour and had an AMAZING TIME! Water was magical and plenty warm to enjoy the light show. Our hosts provided a great historical overview of the area and a beautiful sunset our of the islands. Super fun!

Angelo was an outstanding guide throughout the entire experience! He made sure we knew exactly what to expect on the boat tour, consistently emphasized safety, and shared engaging details about the nearby islands, crags😀, and striking rock formations. Since I was nervous about the rough waters, he showed remarkable patience and reassurance, helping me feel at ease and carefully guiding me into one of the caves. His genuine care made the tour memorable!

We booked a private tour, not realizing!! And left with Iban from mismaloya. We had so much fun, even though the water was really rough, visiting the islands and snorkeling. We got to see so many beautiful fish!! The history is super fascinating and Iban was always telling us the stories. I highly recommend this tour!

We were a group of three, all in different generations. The guide, Arnold, was excellent and even the 11-year-old felt safe in her first attempt at snorkeling. We saw lots of fish and had a good amount of time snorkeling. We also enjoyed the pretty Little Beach where we hung out for a while having a drink in their snack. The 11-year-old is even able to do a low-level Cliff jump and she enjoyed it greatly. We highly recommend this tour.

Private transportation from and to the Romantic Zone is included. Very important as the driver knows exactly where to drop you off, and on return you don’t want to have to take the public bus or a taxi in a wet bathing suit. The excursion leader Alfonso was excellent. He worked hard to learn everyone’s name and succeeded. He treated us as adults—didn’t opine on whether or not to do the cliff climb and dive, left it up to each of us (on our excursion, 2 of 8 did it). Not his fault—the snorkeling was only so so as the water visibility was limited. But there were lots of fish varieties to see, and Alfonso was able to name all of them. I would say they should offer flippers…but we didn’t go far, mostly in one area. He also showed us various birds on the rocks, and told us about the geography, other animal life that is sometimes present, etc. He was very helpful in stabilizing the boat as we got out at the secluded beach, and then back in. Plenty of drinks and some energy bars were provided. All in all excellent value, it’s all done in 1/2 day, I met some nice fellow Canadians and a nice couple from Nevada. I highly recommend this for enjoyment and value.

Amazing value. Nice people. Patient! Went snorkeling and the brought us to a private beach for about an hour! WELL worth the money!!

My family and friends had the best time on this tour! Everything worked out perfectly including the transport. Our tour guide and captain were unreal! We jumped off cliffs, We saw whales, fish, went to beaches, had boat beers and an all around great time! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our tour. From booking to the adventure on the boat and back, everything was well organized and a lot of fun.

I would have gone for more expensive option, but it turns out fortunately, the other options were sold out so I had to take the least expensive two and a half hour tour, it was perfect. Just enough snorkeling a Quick cliff dive a lovely visit to beach for the kids to look for animals in the tide pools. We didn't see a whale, but it wasn't peak season for it, and it was very nice to have the short boat rides to avoid wasted time and potential motion sickness. If you get to the drop off point early it is only a few blocks to the main strip of the beach with restaurants and shopping so you can walk around and then walk back to the gas station. Don't let the drop off and pick up at the gas station make you nervous, it's just convenient for the driver and works out fine for the cab drivers taking you from your hotel. If you book through your hotel you will pay approximately 6 times as much and probably spend more time on a boat which I find less pleasant than spending time in the water. Alfonso, our guide was very nice and knowledgeable and ran a very safe tour without being overly restrictive for the adults/ more capable freedivers and cliff divers. Don't talk to the overpriced tour guides at your hotel, just book this, pay for the taxi from your hotel to the pickup AI can tell you the appropriate fair, you will more than make up for it in savings. Then before you go back have a beautiful dinner at one of the top rated places in Puerto Vallarta after the drop off which will save you additional money and be better food then your hotel.

Alfonso was very attentive, kind, patient, and had excellent attention to detail. He made the tour special and showed us off-the-beaten-track spots. Chito is helpful too and make our trip safe. They focuses more on the safety of travellers. Thank you both! definitely will come back. The place is amazing with amazing friendly staff.

Great tour with very knowledgeable guides who focus on your safety. They provide good drinks and you can stay at the restaurant after the tour.

The place was good but it was not i was expecting. You can't see barely anything below the water on the snorkelling area, it was not as clear as it was advertised. The beach was not that good. It was just a small beach with rocks nothing fancy. The tour guide and boat captain was amazing though! They made us feel safe during tour!

This trip is well worth the money. Alfonzo was very organized in keeping everyone together, very informative and amusing. The water, beach and islands were beautiful. I highly recommend

Took this tour to visit Los Arcos - good timing, excellent price/quality rate, great guide Arnold - thanks him a lot to provide us with all the interesting information. The water in August is not so clean because of season of rains, but anyway everything was just awesome)

The best snorkeling excursion in Mismaloya! Apart from the natural beauty of Los Arcos and the charm of Mismaloya, the team was welcoming and the guides are so much fun! We didn’t have time for the two hour tour, but this tour did not disappoint! I recommend this tour to anyone with time limitations and want a quick adventure! I will definitely be booking another excursion with Mismaloya Xtreme every-time I’m in PV!

We were my spouse, the two daughters, ages 7 and 10, and my stepfather. The extreme mismaloya team was great, considerate, attentive and authentic. No big flaflafla, a real experience on a boat in the ocean, very intimate experience, we were with a group of 3. The only disappointment is that the waves near the rocks were quite strong and the most beautiful snorkeling area is near the rocks. As we were with our children, we preferred to stay further away so less visibility and less fish and coral. I recommend to all the team of Mismaloya extreme for your experiences in Mismaloya!!!
