This tour had some really good aspects and some really bad ones. Despite the fact that my wife got seriously injured and it cost us thousands of dollars, this is an objective review. The meeting point was very hard to find since they give you the general address for the marina, but the exact location we never did find, our guide found us looking for it. We were driven to a location that had a gift shop that you had to go through before we got our horses. I noticed that the saddles were of the lowest quality I have ever seen and the stirrups were not adjusted for our height, but the horses were sweet and we were really enjoying ourselves on the ride. We declined to swim with the horses just because we didn’t want to be wet going to the tequila tasting and BBQ lunch. We dismounted at the swim location anyway and went to see some volcanic hot springs, but we were not allowed in them. After that, we rode to the tasting, which was nice. It’s a very small amount of tequila but high quality. Our BBQ lunch was fantastic and there was a big pool there to swim in. We only stayed a short time which was disappointing. On the ride back my wife was thrown from the horse, resulting in a fractured clavicle. Her saddle was too loose, which I should have checked before we left. When she had dismounted earlier the whole saddle moved Left about 4”. Our guide Martin said that he would take care of it, but when her horse went into a gallop the saddle was unstable and she lost her balance. Up until then we were having a good time. If you go, check your own gear. Don’t rely on the guide because he’s not the one who saddles up the horses. Also, they could have brought a small portable stand to make getting off and on the horse easier. When I got on my horse the stirrup was so high that I could barely get my foot into it. Martin was fantastic at getting my wife to the hospital, and after several hours he came to pick us up and take us to our hotel. That was greatly appreciated!

Super fun! The horse ride was fun, about an hour, our guide Martin was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, he’s also a great DJ. Then we went to the resort for the tequila tasting followed by an amazing meal and a make-your-own salsa class with Joel which was also super fun!
This tour was very fun. Fabrizio was our guide and he was enjoyable. The whole day had several activities in addition to the horse ride. We made salsa, had lunch, and I had time to go swimming in the pool. I would do this adventure again.
This was so much fun! I haven’t ridden a horse in 30 years, but I felt very safe and supported, and it was a really good experience. The horses were gentle and healthy — not at all dispirited like you see at some tours. Our guide Saul was wonderful — funny and friendly and really good at taking pics for us! The food was delicious, and the tequila tasting was top-notch.
Martin was such a vibe and obviously well trained with the horses! our tequila guy was amazing with the information he provided, you can tell he loves his job. the food was great & learning how to make our own salsa was fun!! thank youuu. now the only i wished was different was maybe spending like 5 minutes with the horse we rode lol i think it’s important to build that relationship.. i do understand that cuts into time but as a horse owner i know that relationship and trust is important.
Had a great time thanks to Martín
Had a good time, thought it was a good deal with the included meal and unlimited margaritas afterwards. Guides and driver made the bus ride to and from the ranch and meal area fun and enjoyable. Would definitely do again.
Our guide was great, Rafa at the ranch was also great. My horse was unruly so he had to “drive” her for me. Vista Dulce was beautiful, very attentive wait staff
My husband and I went on this trail ride and had so much fun. The horses were all very well behaved and we ended up at this beautiful resort and made our own salsa and had BBQ. We then got to go in the pool and hangout with some margaritas. We would definitely recommend. Our guide was Fabrizio and he was so kind.
We had a mixed experience - some real fun, but would have preferred to know more before going. Pros: horses are well cared for and were easy to ride, tequila tasting and salsa making was fun & tasty, food also good. Cons: the bus to get to & from the location for the ~30 min drive was in rough shape (no functioning A/C, several chairs lacked covers), they ask for tips 5 times (!) for different people/staff which was too much, and we couldn't go in the river with the horses due to the rainy season (check before you book) so we just rode the horses in the nearby village.
Saul Robles was our guide. He did an excellent job and was extremely kind and patient. This trip is one where you go into the village and it definitely humbled us for the way we live in the US. It was nothing but smiles, waves and kind gestures. The second part of this trip was the tequila tasting and lunch. This took place at an amazing boutique hotel with incredible views and more fabulous people. We would truly recommend this trip to everyone. Ask for Saul!
As it was rainy season we didn’t get to be along or within the river. We ended up riding horses up random roads partially into the mountains. The horses were great and well mannered. As we road in single line I didn’t actually get to be near or next to my partner for the hour journey. The food and beverages after were delicious. The adventure was about 5.5 hrs round trip and honestly we were ready to be done around 4.5 hrs. The extra hour as the boutique hotel wasn’t added value.
Great tour guide in Fabricio, very patient and accommodating. Tequila tasting was informational and delicious. Lunch at the resort was very nice, loved making our own salsa.
Martin made the whole experience absolutely amazing. He took the time to explain the different plants and processes for each tequila. The tasting was fantastic. The horses love him and were so happy to follow him. We did a couple river crossings, but due to the rain the water was a little more rapid and dirty so we didn’t swim, but it didn’t hurt the experience at all. The hotel where the tasting and lunch were served was straight out of a movie. You’re surrounded by lush mountains on each side.. it’s beautiful, quiet, and the people who worked there were amazing as well. This is a trip I would do again and again. Highly recommend
This has definitely been the highlight of my stay in PV, what an exhilarating experience! The guide is full of fun and energy, the horses are so well behaved and know their job. The stop for tequila tasting and relaxing by the pool in the countryside, surrounded by mountains and the river, is an experience not easy to find. 100% would do this again! Recommendation: bring a hat, longer pants, sunscreen, and shoes you don’t care about getting wet. And be prepared to have lots of tequila 😅
Overall experience was pretty nice! Horses are definitely well taken care of but the instructions could’ve been a bit more detailed for first time riders. They just have you read a wall of basic instructions lol. Would recommend wearing closed toed sneakers & bringing a small backpack with swimming clothes so you can change. It’s optional to go super deep in the water with your horse but one person on our tour did it & it was cool to see. Depending on the dust level, bandanas may be needed to cover your face but it’s doable without. We thought the swimming portion was going to be shorter so we didn’t bring any changing clothes but it’s actually on a resort location & you spend around 2hrs by the pool. There’s bathrooms as well so you can easily change. Food was great & delicious! The tequila tasting was also nice as well.
This was a nice relaxing way to spend the day. It is true that the shuttle does not have AC and the day was hot and sticky but the ride, tequila, and lunch was great. Cooling off in the river and swimming pool was so refreshing!
It was awesome you go through the mountains where they have a pool you make salsa in molcajete tequila tasting get to hang in the river it was all awesome. I would recommend to bring lots of sunscreen and water
This is not a cool/breezy horseback ride along a beach. You are taken to a hot dusty small town (population 2000), in a van that does NOT have AC (it was 91 degrees at the end of May - this is why I gave it 4 stars). You travel along a hot dusty road about 30 mins, ride through a river then travel back. There’s no shade along the ride. You eat after, the food was good, the tequila tasting was interesting, we didn’t have time to swim in the pool. TIPS: Bring a bandana for dust, and sunblock. You either carry your bag with you or leave it unsupervised during the horseback ride so I wouldn’t bring anything valuable. No need for towels, bring a bottle of water, wear old tennis shoes or sandals with a heel strap - they’ll get dirty, they’ll only get wet if you choose to swim with the horse. Tell your taxi to take you to Nima Bay resort, they didn’t seem to understand the address. You’ll see the mirror to the right of the guard shack. Bring plenty of tip money, someone is asking for tips at every turn (there’s even a lady in the restroom that hands you a paper towel, with a tip basket). Hope this helps!
This was a great experience, especially if you never rode a horse before! Just amazing
SOO worth it, just book it…. What an experience!! We had so much fun riding the horses through different terrains- we had a tequila tasting, made our own salsa & enjoyed a delicious lunch poolside. Our first time on a horse & we felt very safe being matched & guided. Couldn’t recommend this excursion anymore!!! Make sure to bring shoes you don’t mind getting wet + a bandana to cover your face from dust other than that just be ready for an adventure. Thank you again for such a beautiful experience
Had wonderful experience with family. Saul was our guide and it was fun making Salsa and eating lunch surrounded by nature.
Martin was an excellent guide. Friendly, happy, funny vibes the entire day 😊 can’t recommend this tour enough.
Great funny charismatic leader took us through rivers with the horses, ending with a lovely resort that offered wonderful service and great Mexican BBQ
It was fun, but you kind of just trot along on a horse in the scorching heat. BRING A HAT, and I suggest a handkerchief as well for the dust. You go in a little river with your horse for about 1 minute, that’s about it. It’s cute, but not as exhilarating as it seems in the pictures lol. Other than that, you just ride a horse for an hour or so to a resort. Go through some little towns too. At the end, you go to a resort and get offered tequila, food, and margaritas. I do not like the tequila part, as there is some pressure to buy their product, which is overpriced in my opinion. Also, the resort drinks had to be watered down. I drank 4 and didn’t feel a thing, but I this is just speculation, not a certainty. Host and other horse guy was nice.
The best part is riding the horse through the river! Later, you can stop by the pool and have lunch.
Honestly, this was such a lovely experience. It ended up just being me and my dad, which made it feel so much more special and peaceful. We got to enjoy everything privately without distractions. Dinner by the pool was the perfect ending, and the staff were all incredible. Definitely recommend doing this with friends, your partner, or family!
Such a great experience! The swimming with the horse was awesome!! An experience I’ve never done before. Our guides were so friendly, and the food was incredible. Making the salsa was new to me and fun. The whole day was definitely a great time by all of us.
10/10 would recommend to friends/ family Was straight forwarded with a full day of fun, we went for a walk with the horses for 2ish hrs went swimming with them, then went for tequila tasting, then back for lunch we got to make our own salsa after that we were brought a beautiful lunch This was my partners first time in Mexico and they absolutely loved it telling me they want to book it again before we go defo worth the price could be 200$ each and I would pay it
SUCH A unique experience. Guides and horses alike were knowledgeable amd well trained. tequila and lunch were equally delicious and the stop included enough time to not feel rushed
Martín was my tour guide and he was amazing. The food, the drinks, the experience 10/10. I felt safe the whole time and the horses were well trained.
This was the best day we had on our trip! We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Our guide Sau was great. The horseback riding was a nice trail through open rural areas and included some river crossings. The tequila tasting host was very friendly and informative. The tequila was delicious! We got taught how to make salsa (careful with those peppers !!) and had a fabulous lunch. Free flowing margaritas for the adults and drinks for the kids. The staff were amazing. After lunch there was free time to swim in the pool before heading back on the horses. The setting is in the middle of nowhere and is a nice get away from the crowds in town. This trip was such good value for the money and is a fun experience for the whole family.
Highly recommend this excursion to experience the small town life outside of PV. Fabricio, Cesar, and Omar were our guides and they did a wonderful job of keeping us safe and comfortable. The tequila tasting, salsa making, and lunch were great. The margaritas are definitely unlimited and they even gave some to go. Recommend wearing pants, good shoes, sunscreen, bug repellant, and a hat. Bring a change of clothes if you plan on getting in the river or swimming.
Suitable for all ages as we had a 7 year old girl riding thru the river on a bareback horse to a 75 yr old guy enjoying the whole experience
Fantastic experience. Took my family with two daughters of 10-11. Horses were well trained. Staff took care of us. Horses were well taken care of by the caballeros. Didn't see an old or skinny horse or one with bad hooves. Food and tequila all included so we didn't have to pay extra for anything other than tips. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Was a great day! Saul and the cowboys were great and the trail horses were very responsive! Swimming bareback with the horse was a highlight. Spending time for lunch and the pool at Carlos’ hacienda was a nice way to spend the afternoon!
So much fun! Absolutely recommend this tour.
Saul was an amazing guide and each minute of the tour was amazing and well spent. Would recommend!
Salute was an amazing tour guide! Swimming in the pool after horseback riding was our peak!
Amazing experience! Highly recommend to anyone looking for horseback adventure. Cowboys and horses were perfectly suited to guests. Food was fantastic. Tequila tasting was fun. Overall great value for nearly a full day of fun!
Fabrezio was the BEST! He made the entire trip amazing! From pick up to river swim to drop off. He was impeccable. The food was yummy and tequila well… that’s self explanatory! I will forever remember this day! Thank you fab! Krystal & sister Kim (lol)
Our horseback riding excursion lef us to this beautiful place, where we were offered Tequila tasting, BBQ lunch and the opportunity to make our own salsa! The resort is beautiful, the scenery breathtaking and the people so friendly! And did I mention a beautiful refreshing poil? Lovely visit!
Everything about this day was excellent! From the time we met in PV with our host Saul we knew this was going to be fun! The horses were healthy and easy to ride, the Tequila tasting informative and delicious, the meal succulent and we even got to make out own salsa!! Thereafter we had time to relax and swin in the lovely pool! Marteen took care to drive us up and back to and from the ranch! We met some very nice people during our excursion, we highly recomnend it! Salute!!! 😊
It was an overall nice experience. The guides were super nice and fun. We had a small group of quiet people which was great since eveyone was on the same wavelength and no one was annoying anyone (which was awesome) The swimming part is only a few minutes but honneslty, amazing. I've been riding horses for a long time and never got to do that. The food was ok, the drinks were delicious and probably some of the best Margheritas I've had (the others said the same) The hacienda is beautiful but nothing too intense which was appreciated. The pool dip for 30min after lunch and before leaving was a blessing.
It was really chill riding through the river on the horse, the food and tequilla were great. After lunch you have a bit of time to relax in the pool before heading back on the horses. I also had the best margarita ever. A+.
Roberto was an excellent guide and we had a great ride and never once felt unsafe
Had an absolutely incredible time on this tour. Fabricio was our tour guide and he was very welcoming, informative and charming. Val was great too. The whole tour was very easy to follow and he did a great job making everyone feel comfortable. I really enjoyed how the tour went through a village and rural area outside of the city. Felt like a natural experience and wasn’t a typical tourist experience. We saw a lot of locals just hanging out with their family and it was a good vibe. Getting to ride the horse in the water was really cool. The horse actually swims with you on top! At the end of the trail, the tequila tasting was great and informative. I had to buy a bottle! They take the tequila back on the bus for you so you don’t have to ride with it if you buy anything. We got the chance to make our own salsa after and then lunch and margaritas. The food was delicious and came in a great portion. Lots of cute dogs running around too! The ride back to the ranch felt a lot quicker than the way there. This tour is absolutely a special experience and a great value for the money. The staff were great, food was tasty and the animals seemed well looked after. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to ride horses or experience something off the beaten path. We felt very safe and welcome the whole time.
This excursion was amazing! Both guides were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and spoke good English. You don't need any experiencing riding horses, they will get you a horse according to your skill level. It is incredibly beautiful and serene. I thought I would be sore after a few hours in the saddle but I did not get sore, and I have zero riding experience. The lunch afterwards was excellent as well, you make traditional mexican salsa. Everything is included, even free drinks and free tequila. Don't miss out on this one!
Our guide Saul was a delight for our adventure today. The food was delicious and the tequila was amazing! The horses were had for our rides were very gentle and well cared for. We can't recommend this excursion enough.
The whole experience was so amazing! I’ve felt nothing but safety with this team at the ranch. All the locals were friendly and amazing. I didn’t feel unsafe one time. regardless of the news on the media PV is beautiful, safe, and welcoming. Fabrezio and Rafa were our guides this time and I couldn’t have asked for a better duo! The jokes, the laughter and the knowledge these men possess about the animals, the culture, and the land far exceeded my expectations. The animals are all well taken care of. The horses were well fed, friendly and trained very well. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or an expert at horse back riding this experience is for you! Did I mention all the friendly doggos who love treats! From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for taking care of me and my girlfriends. Showing us kindness the whole way through. I will be returning and recommending to family, friends and strangers.
