You’ll need to be a strong swimmer to get to hidden beach. It was worth the effort and swimming through the cave was cool.
When we got there, they didn’t have our booking on record. They didn’t know where it came from, it was not an easy check in. What you don’t say on this is that the price you post only covers your ticket on a boat for 8 hours and breakfast/lunch. They charge for every different thing you describe in this offer. If you want to snorkel, actually see anything up close, or go to the hidden beach it’s another $100. I wouldn’t recommend this excursion to anyone.
The worst experience me and my wife have ever had It's a total scam I spent $500 for both of us to go on a old boat ride have bad food bad drinks and spend literally 15 minutes inside the hidden Beach not only that it was a 10-hour excursion from hell everybody we talk to on the boat said the same thing It would never go back again I do not recommend this for anybody FYI they will charge you an extra $60 each to go to the hidden Beach for 15 minutes that they do not let you know about beforehand
I did this plan with 2 friend was great experience .. we did snorkel in The pacífico, and got to know the famous Marieta islands. The tour was super cheerful and fun. I highly recommend this
Completely disorganized and I want a refund. We did not attend when we saw danger. No water no towels and numerous fees that are hidden. Dehydration a major concern for our child so we turned and left.
This trip was very fun, we started with the boat ride to Las Marietas about 2 hours there and received a mediocre breakfast(not the best tbh), nonetheless they provided drinks and fruit. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. I was definitely tired this trip was a long one even though there were a few of us we started around 9am all the way till 6pm. We had 30 min for each event from being at the hidden island, snorkeling, spending time at cactus beach, and kayaking at "Cristo" beach(I forgot the name). Photographer was awesome, lunch was a lot better and open bar open once you leave the hidden island! Overall totally recommend, be prepared to bring all your own towels, coral reef safe sunscreen, and if you get sea sick be weary.Overall GREAT!
Firstly, I was not given the correct address for the meeting point. Then I messaged through the app and Guido was not helpful at all. He was extremely rude. Please coach him or give him additional customer service training. Be prepared to pay additional fees, you will have to pay a port fee as well as a reserve fee. The post fee was $34 pesos and the reserve fee was $150 pesos per person. The food and drinks were blah so make sure that you eat something before you board. You will get some chilaquiles and eggs for breakfast more like a continental breakfast. Lunch was only a sandwich, a pasta salad and a chicken salad. I would rate the food and drinks a 1/10. The boat ride to the island is way too long, you only get to spend 30 mins on an island and its not even the main island which is isla del Amor. Wish the boat to and from the island was shorter, that way we could have enjoyed more time on the beach. The staff on the boat were friendly. While on the way to the island they sold us an ecological tour which takes you on boat to the Isla de Amor but you don’t get off the boat, the tour was $250 pesos per person. It’s just a brief boat tour giving you history of the marine life and island. I feel like this was way over priced for the activities we did.
Why do you send me thus when I didn't go? I got violently ill and couldn't go. Your company refused my request for a refund due to some stupid 24 hour policy. I didn't want to cancel. There was no way I could get on a boat. I get policy, but that one just cost you a customer. Especially after I booked all of our excursions through your company. I will be using a different one from here on out... and I will be spreading the word to go ANYWHERE but here. You lost a customer for life.
It was a great experience, learned from the tour guide. The staff while on the boat ride to and back were attentive at all times.
While the staff was very friendly, efficient, and professional the tour can benefit from a smaller head count.
Lots of fun. Plenty to do. Good staff. It's a full day so be prepared. You will get breakfast, lunch and a salad cup later. Drinks are flowing.
They do not tell you that it’s a 2hr ride each way. Open bar is only on the way back. You need to be proficient in swimming to snorkel or to swim from the boat to the small island. As the water is extremely choppy and the strong currents could easily slam you against the sharp rocks. You can not bring any hats, glasses, or water shoes into the water as they could end up in the water and contaminate the protected ocean/island. You’re also not allowed to put on sun block 30min prior to arriving to the island, otherwise they won’t let you do the “water activities”. Once you arrive to the island they dock you off the catamaran into a small boat and get you closer to shore, however you still have to swim quite a distance in very rough waters. And they only allow for you to be at the beach for about 30min. There is not much to do as you cannot bring anything with you and it is a deserted protected area. The “playa del amor” is only available Wednesday to Sunday. For this they will give you a helmet and you have to swim really close to the rocks on each side and above you, keep in mind that is your not able to swim in rough water you probably will get slammed around into sharp rocks. They offer a “nature tour” in which they load you in into a the small boat and take you around the island where you are told information and you could see two craters, the one in the picture and the entrance to “La playa del amor”. The scenery was beautiful, but i just wish we would have been told all these small details prior to booking this tour and I would have planed differently or maybe passed up on it and looked for a different option to experience the island.
We were very disappointed in this experience. The boat was beyond shabby. The crew although very nice did not consistently accommodate for non Mexican speaking people. There were unknown fees to tour the Island. ( never revealed until you were on the boat moving!) The breakfast was adequate. The trip to the island was pleasant however the snorkeling time was ridiculously short (20 minutes max) Be prepared if you wish to go to the beach island as the swim from the small boat to the shoreline was long and difficult. When in the beautiful Island you were very limited to what you could do! The time spent was a maximum of 20 minutes! Both the main boat and the skiff were in poor conditions. The crew nickel and dimed us for EVERYTHING! snacks , raffle tickets, additional excursions, and of course tips! They were bold and wait until each person provided them a tip. I had prepared a $50 US tip and brought it down to $20! The trip back from the island was excruciatingly long. Too much forced fun! ( and bad booze) Although i enjoyed the island I was very disappointed in the experience. I realize I’m in a Mexican country but the ad said English speaking. The additional fees that I was aware of are not correct in web. It felt like the old bait and switch. Go with a more established proviď It was more for a local rather than an international client. Next time I’d book with a more established provider.
It was an amazing experience. We enjoyed every minute of it. Fabian who was the biologist was an amazing guide for us. He explained everything very detailed.
Awful. So bad. Never do this tour or anything with the company! The food was awful. Worst sea sickness of my life. The tour is well over 6 hours long. Don’t except to see anything special.
There were only about 40 of us on this trip, which was nice. Lots of activities, good food, good service. But 9 hours was too long. The ship very slowly went out and back, nearly 3 hours each way!!!
This tour is great, however this company is more for locals than tourist. Nice adventure just not the way they offer it. Better off choosing different provider.
It was more of a tour for locals rather then tourists. Not to the standards of the other tour companies. Better off using Vallarta Adventures.
We saw whales! And the open bar was everything an open bar should be. Though the dance competition was rigged and I should have won.
Had an awesome day on the boat. The staff were very good and attentive to all the attendees. The games on the return trip where so much fun. Lots of alcohol, of course. Would reccomend this group to anyone that goes. Reccomendations, take a water proof camera as you need to swim to go on land. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We had a beautiful ride to Marietas Island.. We loved this adventure! We did the hidden beach, which was absolutely beautiful and so cool. You had to swim out a short distance from a smaller boat to get there. Then, there were caves you could go into. A must see to believe. We actually saw blue footed boobies, which are rare to see. We snorkeled and saw some beautiful fish including Puffers, which I love. I can’t tell you how many whales we saw!!! One whale circled our Catamaran and breached itself 5 times!! Unbelievable! We also saw dolphins and a crocodile once we got back to the port. Our senses were on overload! I have to say the staff was really great! They were friendly, energetic and a lot of fun. The only thing you should know is the boat is dated, but don’t let this sway your decision. The experiences and the staff make it well worth it!!!
Seeing dolphins and whales which wasn't expected was the highlight and without that it would have been a wasted tour. The information being provided by the crew was poor. The open bar didn't open until 13.30 and lunch wasn't until 2.15, every time we asked for information about the itinerary we just got shrugging shoulders. When we asked about the bar & lunch they said after activities which we weren't doing as everything had to be paid extra, we explained we weren't snorkeling, swimming or kayaking so why couldn't we get a drink and again just told after activities! Very disappointing tour all together.
My expectations are generally low for most tours and I am a low maintenance tenancy person so this is just honest info. The tour was good, the boat ride nice w dolphin and whale sightings. The staff were nice and fun, and the island was beautiful… but very regulated and too many rules! We couldn’t even use our own snorkels that we brought when swimming around the catamaran!Only in the roped off snorkelling area near the islands which was kind of small. And it’s very hard to swim and snorkel with the mandatory life jackets! Some tours had waste belts. Ours vest were so huge and buoyant. Food was ok. Not great. Also it says open bar but we couldn’t even have a beer with our lunch on the boat. Only got to drink alcohol after we left the area which was close to 4pm. Everything else was as described if you open every tab and read all the fine print.
Beautiful place. Great crew on the ship Geronimo, they made the experience unique and memorable.I recommend it
Its not worth it that I booked this tour. Wait too long to get to the hidden beach. Charging to much for photo shoot cause I didn’t have camera with me. So many people on this tour and the management this tour was so insufficient. Not recommended
Arrive on time. Go through ten stations before you get to the boat: 1) Hostess at the port entrance sends you to join the long line to 2) pay the Port Fee = 32 pesos. They have a list of bill denominations in different currencies that they do not accept. FX rates are a rip off of course 3) Look for you tour operator's representative, who checks your ticket and hands you over to a 4) girl who checks something on some list and gives you a document in Spanish to sign. You sign it and proceed to the 5) cashier to pay MXN 120 conservation fee, MXN 1,000 for the access to the Hidden Beach aka Playa del Amor. She gives you two paper bracelet passes, a paper boarding pass, a paper breakfast coupon and hands you over to 6) another rep who attaches the bracelet passes to your wrist 7) Then you proceed to Gate 5 where two men check your passes, tickets and try to sell you some more "free" stuff. Then you wait until the boarding is called, you proceed to 8) an officer who checks you port fee ticket. Make sure you keep it till this moment 9) Security check like in the airport. Go outside and wait in line. When the boat is ready, they start letting people on it, but first there's a 10) photographer to make a picture of your group and then later try to sell it to you for MXN 200 On board you realize the vessel is old and filthy, equipment (i.e. life jackets) is in disorder and filthy too. I spent 15 minutes untangling my life jacket's belts before trying to adjust it. Then you sail for 2+ hours. Seats are quite uncomfortable. Second floor is not advised to those prone to get seasick. Breakfast: barely edible lukewarm combination of scrambled egg, chips and some sauce poured over all that. The egg is quite similar to what you get in a US/CA hotel for free breakfast. In other words - not a food product. The lunch slightly better - a sandwich. The snorkeling experience was barely better than I experienced 15 meters off the hotel beach. The Hidden Beach was cool. But remember that they will throw you out of the boat 100 m in front of the cave, in not too quiet waters. Don't do this if you're not confident swimmer. They give you helmets, most of them broken. Do good research before you go. On the way back there's a lot of free low level booze, some kids get intoxicated, so things turn a bit goofy. In the end the entire crew goes around the decks to extort tips from the customers. Overall, happy to get back safely. Do not recommend.
Disappointing, many hidden fees involved, the food was not that great and they didn’t have enough regular water for a 8-9 hour day we should be able to get uncarbonated water, the national park was closed the whole reason we chose this excursion was to be able to go and explore the hidden beach it was not as pictured online.
Such a fun, and full experience. The hosts were so attentive, and funny. Food and drink were great! I definitely recommend spending the extra for the secret beach, so cool and special. You will love villarta by boat’s experience!
This boat trip is a nice expierence. You get to have a breakfast, lunch, a snorkel trip and then paddle boarding as well as kayakking. At the way back to the shore you they open the bar. Most of the staff was really nice. They were handing out tequilla shots. People started dancing on board. We even saw a huge dolfin at one point. There was one staffmember who kept calling me a guerro in a unfriendly way. I did not like that. If he wants to talk trash be a man and do it in english.
The tour was a very fun and a very complete experience. We laughed a lot with the sup and we did snorkeling for the first time and our children loved it. The food and drinks were of very good quality.
The tour to the Marietas Islands was a lot of fun. The food was average, I expected a little more variety, the drinks were good. the hidden beach is paid extra.
Very misleading description saying you will be on the island for 4 hours when you are only on it for maybe 20 minutes at the most. The entire two hour boat ride there is filled with attempts to up-charge your experience by asking you to pay to snorkel, eco tour and some other stuff I did not pay attention to. There is also a guide who talks on the microphone the whole two hours there which becomes redundant and annoying. Almost like a two hour sales pitch. The food was mediocre. The best part was the open bar on the way back to the marina. Save your money and look for a better excursion!
This excursion started over an hour late. There was a lot of miscommunication with additional fees. It is advertised it is an open bar; however, it is only 2 hours of open bar when you start to return. They didn't have a variety of alcohol and the crew would serve some, but not others throughout the time we were with them. There was water available but it wasn't bottled. Additionally, they ran out of food for lunch and many people on our team were not able to eat. The food that was served wasn't good, many complaints from the people that were able to eat. What is advertised is not what you receive, lots of additional upsells and requests for tips. The crew had a lot of miscommunication with what was allowed and what wasn't allowed. I would not recommend this excursion.
Arrived on a cruise ship. The time was supposed to be 830-330. Had a two hour cushion. Didnt leave until 9, departed at 330. The only way we made it back in time was because they were at least nice enough to take us back faster on a ponga boat. Nice crew, but dont get on if you have to be back before 6 or 630. You have to pay extra if you want to go to the Hidden Beach, and there is a limited number of people per day that can go. Very different type of snorkel trip.
Horrible!!! DO NOT DO THIS!!!! They promise as part of the cruise, to see the Hidden Beach. They spoke in Spanish, than English giving you Information about the extra fees to pay AFTER you get on the cruise. I offered to pay the Extra fee because that is ALL I mainly wanted to do on this cruise to the Islas de Marietas. They said no, we are booked. No more spots. The snorkel portion is very short-20 minutes if you are lucky! You can only kayak and paddle board about 100 feet from the boat. So basically you are paying to sit on a very sloooooow catamaran boat all day long…….. literally. We arrived at 8:30am and returned at 6:45pm. It was awful. Also, even though we all pay to be on the cruise,if you misplace the little meal ticket, you don’t eat…. I could go on and on about other things, but I won’t. Go buy some snorkel gear and find a place to snorkel in your own. Save your precious travel time…. Not doing this.
We loved the tour to the Marietas Islands, we enjoyed many beautiful landscapes, the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and the drinks were free!
The agency that runs the tour is EXCELLENT, very attentive, the service is very, very good, the food is very delicious, the activities are super good for my children. The only and very bad experience was with Viator as an intermediary, they did not give the correct instructions since the tour says it is for ages 6 to 90 and when we arrived they said that only children 11 years and older can enter the Marietas Islands, they also did not tell me that you have to pay 1,000 more per person to enter the hidden beach.
From the purchase, the experience was very quick and simple. During the tour, all the members of the operator gave us a straightforward explanation of what the tour would be like. We scheduled for Marietas + Playa del Amor, and it was excellent; they provided us with breakfast, snacks, and lunch, as well as an open bar. I do not drink alcohol, but the bartender was super nice and prepared non-alcoholic drinks for me :) We had a day with high tide, and I must mention: you need to be in good physical condition to do this tour. I had never swum in open water, and although I managed to do it (and felt happy for doing so), it is very tiring! When we went to Playa del Amor, the tide almost did not allow us to pass. To enter, we had to swim under the entrance, and we became very nervous.... The staff on the boat was INCREDIBLE and helped us cross both ways. We could not be more grateful. Later, we went to Palo Verde; you can kayak, and they play music on the boat, making the trip very enjoyable. It was my birthday, and everyone was very kind; they sang 'Las Mañanitas' to me, and I had a great time. I definitely recommend it a hundred percent, considering that my whole body hurts after swimming in the sea. I forgot to mention that the boat provides snorkeling gear. There are many things you can add for an extra price; I decided not to get any, and I still had an excellent time.
The boat ride was very nice and the scenery spectacular.. The staff of the boat gives it a very good vibe.. We had time to snorkel and see a lot of marine life, plus enjoy the sea and beaches. The tour includes alcohol released..A recommended tour!!
A classic of Vallarta that we could not not not perform and was spectacular, know the famous hidden beach and the Marietas islands, very well all in general. He highlighted communication
Come to Puerto vallarta and not go to know the tummed islands and the hidden island, it does not make sense. the hidden island is paid apart 50 dollars. open bar and acceptable food. greetings
fulfilled what we expected from this tour, visiting very nice beaches, the hidden island we wanted to go but there was no availability, we must abyss in advance, we did not know.
It was the second excursion we did with the agency, we really liked sailing the Pacific, snorkeling and sharing with the fun group that touched us. A little disorganized at first. Then it was great.
I want to thank you guided by your attention and kindness at all times. We loved the puppet island tour, we enjoyed it a lot. Greetings from colon
It was very good this ride in Vallarta... We met at the dock, waited a little and boarded the cruise ship. The food was fine, sunshine, music and snorkeling. Thank you.
We spent an entertaining day in the Pacific Ocean aboard the boat surrounded by good people, music, very friendly guides and with good energy. Acceptable food. It was a sunny and snorkeling day. Love Island is additional, not included
If you want to have fun, party and music, this tour option is very good... a very relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. If you are looking for luxury, don't hire. Very good vibes from the guides, music all the time, drinks (without big brands), sea to cool off and food, made for a very entertaining day. I thank you
This excursion was very fun, the staff was very nice, super cool, a lot of energy, we were dancing and laughing all day. We recommend the experience
Getting to know Vallarta Bay and the hidden island was a very nice experience. I thank the agency for suggesting this tour, and for putting us in priority to get to know the hidden island. It's worth it, do it =)
