Our host and teacher, Rodrigo, was absolutely terrific. He kept us so engaged and was hands on with us throughout the process. He learned our names immediately and was extremely friendly, and also very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the class immensely and made some terrific chocolates to take home.

My boyfriend and I had such an amazing experience with Martin! He was incredibly kind, thorough, and made the entire workshop so much fun from start to finish. He explained the chocolate-making process in detail while keeping everything interactive and enjoyable. The workshop ended up being just the two of us, which made the experience feel so intimate and special. Martin even took photos and videos of us throughout the process so we could keep those memories forever, which was such a thoughtful touch! Everything was very clean and sanitary, and the chocolate we made actually turned out SO good! 🍫🤎 This was easily one of the highlights of our trip and the perfect birthday excursion. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Martin!
This chocolate and truffle workshop was incredible! Rod was entertaining, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the entire experience. We had so much fun learning how to make our own chocolates, and the truffles and bonbons we created were absolutely delicious. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta!
Teacher was 20 min late and then ran 20 min over, and spent a lot of time just trying to cool the counter for the chocolate. Wasn’t as hands on as I would have liked and a lot of just sitting around and waiting.
GREAT experience! The instructor - Rodrigo - is super friendly, informative, funny and patient with us. We had a lot of fun during the 2-hour presentation, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Outstanding experience with Rod. His knowledge and teaching skills are fun, engaging and enthusiastic. My friend and I loved learning all about tempering, chocolate, and what a rare gift of Mexican Chocolate. We think they should FRANCHISE!!!. Best of luck! And if you get the fortunate chance to participate in chocolate making and education with this great PVR gem, we highly recommend it!
This activity is a lot of fun and super informative! Our teacher was Rodrigo and he was amazing! He was super friendly and has so much knowledge to share, we learned a lot. Rodrigo was very good at explaining each step and teaching us the best techniques. We had some laughs and enjoyed a bunch of tastings too before and during the class. Our chocolates look and taste amazing and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone! Great way to spend some time out of the heat in PV! :)
What a great experience!!! I really enjoyed my workshop with the fellows from ChocoMuseo. The history lesson was very informative and I liked how they paired it with the various chocolate drinks from the Mayan, Aztec and European cultures. I already had chocolate making experience but they taught me several things I didn’t know. The truffle making part of the workshop was fun and very “hands on.” If you’re interested in learning about chocolate I highly recommend ChocoMuseo!!!
Rod was funny, engaging, and a great teacher. He made the experience so much fun. It was much better than any of the excursions from the cruise ship. FYI - keep in mind that local time is one earlier than cruise ship time so plan ahead on the timing.
There's only so much time I can spend at beachside or poolside during a two-week stay in Puerto Vallarta, so we book activities and excursions. A class at the Chocomuseo has been on our repeat list for several years already! Wander through the free museum and learn a bit about that item the Aztecs called "the food of the gods." Sign up to make chocolates, and/or truffles, which you will get to take with you. A newer addition is a mole class, that rich smoky sauce with a bit of unsweetened chocolate. We've never been disappointed by the instructors nor the delectable treats!
We recently had the pleasure of attending a chocolate bon bon making class with Rodrigo, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! We reserved a weekday session, which meant we had the entire class to ourselves—a truly personal experience. Rodrigo was an incredible instructor. His passion for chocolate was evident as he guided us through the fascinating history of this beloved treat. We learned not just the techniques of making beautiful bon bons but also the art of chocolate tasting and pairing. Every step was engaging and informative. What made this experience even more special was the intimate setting. With just the two of us, we had plenty of time to ask questions and get hands-on with the chocolate-making process. My husband couldn’t stop smiling—it was his favorite activity of the trip! The joy of creating something delicious together, combined with Rodrigo's expertise, made for a memorable afternoon. We left with a box of our beautiful bon bons and a newfound appreciation for chocolate. If you’re looking for a fun, educational, and delicious experience, I highly recommend this class! Thank you, Rodrigo, for such a sweet day!
Rod is an amazing instructor. He was so fun and interactive with the class. It was so much fun to go through all of the steps involved in making good chocolates. Gracious Rod. What a fun Valentines activity.
The best part was definitely the hands-on chocolate workshop. Making my own chocolate was such a unique experience, and of course, tasting everything along the way was a huge
We had a great time learning about making chocolates. We made truffles and bon bons that we were able to take with us.
We had a fantastic time at the Choco Museo taking the truffles and French bonbon class. Our instructor, Zoar, was absolutely wonderful — knowledgeable, patient, and made the class both educational and really fun. She explained the chocolate-making process clearly and made sure everyone felt comfortable and involved. The class was very hands-on, and we loved getting to create our own chocolates while learning professional techniques. Everything was well organized, and the final treats were delicious. This is such a great activity for couples, friends, or anyone who loves chocolate. We highly recommend it!
It was a fun and fantastic class. Rod, the instructor, was the best. I highly recommend. Only wish I was staying long enough to take more classes there.
My friend and I did the chocolate and truffles class on Jan 30, 2026 with Zoar. It was fantastic. I bake (at Christmas I make about 1000 cookies and 50 loaves of pumpkin bread—to give to senior center and family). I also put up preserves and make candy. AND I learned several new tricks. Plus the chocolate we made are delicious. Zoar’s chocolate and preparation techniques were extensive. I could not recommend this more highly.
Very fun and yummy!! We had a great time learning about chocolate and how to make bon-bons and truffles. Our teacher was fantastic and extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly!
This was so much fun. We loved meeting Zoar, our instructor. She was fantastic. And a wealth of chocolate knowledge. Making the truffles and bonbons was amazing, getting to eat them, even better. It does seem a bit out of the way, but once you get to know PV, it really isn't. Very much worth the money. And buy some chocolate on the way out. Awesome place.
We LOVED this experience. They were able to accomodate my daughter's severe peanut allergy and the chocolates we made were delicious. We ate every single piece (portioned out over days, of course). Zoar was a wonderful instructor and explained each of the steps while including intesting facts about chocolate. She even gave us THE BEST lunch recommendation for a restaurant the locals eat at (El Campanario). We avoided some expensive tourist restaurant traps, thanks to her. We much appreciated that one! I would highly recommend this attraction. My kids, husband and nother-in-law loved the experience. I was easy, stress-free and included a beautiful view of the ocean. One of the highlights of our vacation. Thank you, Zoar. <3
Zoar was fantastic! We had so much fun and the truffles we were able to make ourselves and take home were incredible! A great bargain for the price!
Excellent workshop and time spent! Our instructor, Zoar, gave clear instructions and was encouraging and helpful to all ages in our group. We made truffles and French bonbons. It was fun!
Zoar was absolutely amazing! We just finished our experience and it was one of the most fun things we've done this trip. The class was super informative, full of laughter and great chocolate making. A delightful experience. Would definitely do this again. Highly recommended
Zoar was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed this excursion. We are excited to go home and try to make these ourselves.
Great experience. Rodrigo was amazing and made the class a fun time! My entire family enjoyed the experience, Highly suggest the experience
Almost three ours of very entertaining class on how to make chocolate. Be prepared to sit for long stretches on stools. You will be involved in making ganache and chocolate truffles. You take away what you make, unless you eat it first.
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We found the facilitator, Rod, to be passionate, informative, and helpful throughout the entire day! We enjoyed the cultural and historical elements of the class. Also, the tasty chocolate was the cherry on top! Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting PVR!
It was amazing! My sons is so picky but he actually really enjoyed it! It was so interesting to learn so much about chocolate I was a bit surprised but really liked it. Our teacher Rodrigo was great, he made it so interesting and fun and interactive for my son he really got him involved and he’s usually hesitating for stuff like this but he loved it! Really liked the whole experience. Made our filling first got to add whatever we wanted, then made the truffles, let those freeze a bit then made our outer chocolate shell and filled them! Got the alcohol bottles out like tequila kahlua and many others more there were about 6 or so where you can add that and so many toppings like coffee beans chilli ginger, salt, cinnamon anything you could think of it was there and we took so many boxes home and ate them all it was great! I really recommend for the family or couples anyone can go I was surprised I enjoyed it so much
WOWZAH! What a fun experience. Rod was a outstanding teacher. He was great on the history of chocolate and México. He taught processing of the cacao to tempering the chocolate and blending flavors. Rod was fun, engaging and inclusive. Great shop. Thanks Rod & Choco Museo
What a great experience! We got a taxi driver (never take a taxi, they're corrupt, always take an Uber!) Driver drove us to wards downtown, stopped, and told us the meeting location was "just around the corner. " he was lying! We walked and walked, and our experience was supposed to start. They called us to be sure we were coming- we told them we were lost, but couldn't find street signs to let them know where we were. They called us about 5 minutes later to check in, and were very concerned. They said they would wait for us. The next call from them, i had to tell them we weren't going to make it. They said we could try again the next day, but we were on a cruise, and couldn't do that. They offered a different chocolate experience layer in the afternoon and we were so relieved and appreciative of their help. We finally found it, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! Was so much fun, and something so different to try. We loved it, and appreciated how kind they were to us! Highly recommend!!!
Zoar was an awesome guide. She was very personable and very easy to get along with. Highly recommend this location and all of the people there!
I went with my dad and my uncle who are both skilled cooks. I myself also love to bake and was super excited! It was so worth it and we felt like we learned a lot while also enjoying some amazing chocolates! Rodrigo was a great teacher and very encouraging to all of us. Would do it again!
Had a fantastic time learning how to make bonbons and truffles with Zoar! It was a fun, hands-on class led by a truly great teacher. If you’re a chocolate lover, I highly recommend it!
Was a Great Experience! Zoar was a Great and Patient teacher! Learned lots learned about tempering chocolate. Reallly enjoyed ourselves and well worth the money. Don’t hesitate, coming from a bunch of Hosers from Pumphandle Alberta, we give it 5/5!
This was such a fun experience to do with my partner and mom! Our teacher, Rod, was so engaging and fun! We learned, laughed, are lots of chocolate, and made wonderful memories. Great for a single person, couples, and families!
Off the beaten path! But such a perfect and fun experience! We loved Zoar and her knowledge, patience and sense of humor.
Great experience. Learned a lot and ate a lot. We made truffles and fancy chocolates and got to take a lot home with us. Rodrigo was a great teacher. We had a great time.
This was spectacular! We learned about how cocoa beans are harvested before grinding and combining the powder with cream to create dark chocolate. Then we learned about ten flavorfully powders like cinnamon to improve the chocolate taste. Then there was about ten different liqueurs like amaretto that could be added in a very amount. We ended up making truffles that were amazing. The guide, Rocky, made the experience memorable and enjoyable.
The tour host was very knowledgeable about chocolate and extremely personable. The small group concept made it more like a get together rather than a tour
Rod was great! And so was the other couple we met on the tour. This was the most fun event we had all week, and the chocolates we made were Amazing. Rod was entertaining, knowledgeable and patient with my unique flavoring choices, lol. Thank you so much for a delightful (and useful!) morning!
This class was so much fun! You actually learn to, and make, the most delicious truffles I've ever had. Rod, our instructor was both fun and informative. My family and I did this class together and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
It was a great class. Rodrigo was a fun teacher and really knew his stuff. He explained things so well it was easy to follow instructions. Our chocolates came out great. We got to choose our own flavors from a multitude of ingredients/flavors. We were all successful and went home with boxes full of yummy homemade chocolates! It was great.
We had the most amazing experience learning about chocolate and making the most amazing truffles. “Rod” was absolutely the best teacher and so much fun!! I highly recommend for anyone visiting.
This was a chocolate making class, not watching someone make it, and soo much fun. Rod was a great teacher. Started with a gnache. There were so many flavors to choose from it was hard to decide. We then made bon bons while we waited for the truffle shells to harden. You get to take home everything you make so we left with almost two dozen truffles and bon bons. The museum itself is cute too with lots of chocolate themed items. We'll definitely go back to try different flavors.
We got to the meeting point/ venue, and we were met with friendly staff. Zora our guide for the day was knowledgeable and helpful. We laughed and had a good time. The chocolate making was fun and delightful.. and at the end of it, we got to take home a very yummy treat.
Absolutely fantastic!! So much chocolate ganache and truffles with great flavor! Would absolutely recommend for families, friends, couples, etc. looking for a fun bonding experience!
This was so fun and so educational (not to mention delicious). Rodrigo was our instructor. He was fun, funny and knowledgeable. We laughed the entire time and made some delicious chocolates. I will never again complain about the cost of truffles and gourmet chocolates again after seeing what it took to make ours. :). Highly recommend this activity.
So much fun making amazing truffles and chocolates. Worth every penny! Rod was outstanding and so knowledgeable!
Rodrigo our host made the experience very memorable and fun. Would highly recommend this event. Loved the chocolates and choses to add to ganachre and truffles. Always fun to have adult beverages to add to chocolate.
This class is a lot of fun and makes you appreciate all the techniques that go into making truffles. Rodrigo was our instructor and he is not only knowledgeable but so much fun. His high energy and sense of humor is infectious! You can tell he is passionate about making chocolate. If you have Rodrigo as your instructor, you will be in for a special treat! Plus you will take home some delicious chocolate that you made.
