We will be learning how chiles are used in the Mexican Gastronomy. Even though most people have the wrong idea thinking they are always spicy, which is not the case. We will visit 5 savory stops and a couple of side stops plus dessert. In the market, you will learn about the chiles that we have available for everyday use.
At the pickup spot...no one showed up. We were early just in case...that didn't matter. No one wearing a Spicy Vallarta shirt was in the vicinity.....A RIP OFF!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Manny was our tour guide and he was amazing. He knew so much about the local culture and food! It seemed like he was friends with everyone in the town. He spoke English which was helpful because we don't know a ton of Spanish.
Manny was the best tour guide. It was just my wife and I on the tour. He took us to get some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. This was the highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta. We were exposed to food stands and restaurants that we wouldn’t have tried on our own and had some really amazing, authentic food! Roman was a great guide and his interest in gastronomy really came through. My only regret was not being able to eat more - I was STUFFED at the end!

Alejandro was a super cool tour guide, and the food was amazing. We covered a lot of the Romantic Zone and just outside it and learned a little about the history of Puerto Vallarta, an extra added plus.
We scheduled a foodie tour in Puerto Vallarta. Our tour guide was Manny and he got a little more than he bargained for. We had two disabled members of our group and he was extremely kind and helpful to them. And then one of our members got separated from the group and Manny went back and found him and brought him back. It was a very adventurous tour for him! However, Manny had planned a wonderful tour with fantastic authentic Mexican food and desserts. We had a fabulous time and would suggest this tour and tour guide to anyone.
This tour was very informative and a casual way to explore the city at the start of our trip. We loved every stop and including beverages at each stand as well! Roman was a great guide to talk with!
We had a great time, our guide did an exceptional job, we had authentic Mexican food without the tourist trappings. It was worth every penny. Only issue was that meet up instructions. Google brought us to the wrong location. After some back and forth literally by foot and then text, we found the guide. Excellent in every respect

We had a wonderful food tour today with Roman. He is an excellent guide. We loved his outgoing, engaging, warm, knowledgeable and energetic style. He has so much interesting information to share and he introduced us to so many wonderful foods. We strongly encourage future participants to not have anything to eat before you go on this fantastic tour because there is an abundance of food, and it is all so delicious. You will want to eat everything. This was a really excellent tour and Roman is a phenomenal guide. We highly recommend this.
What really stood out was how the tour catered to my food knowledge and preferences. He tailored the tour stops for me. (There were some no-shows so I kinda got a private tour.) I would return to all the places on my own.
We did the 6:30 PM tour with Manny. With the weather in PV shifting to evening rain, we tried to connect with the tour company through the booking website to switch to an afternoon session and even stopped by the starting point at 12:30 PM to see if we could join that tour—but unfortunately, there was no 12:30 PM tour that day. Despite the rainy night, Manny delivered an excellent experience! (Hint for future travelers: if visiting during the rainy season, consider booking an afternoon tour!) The restaurants and food selections were great. There’s a great variety, and if something doesn’t appeal to you, alternative choices are offered and for the adventurous eater - some exotic choices were also available. The vendors ranged from street to sit-down and from long-established favorites to newer spots only a few years old. Manny is an outstanding host. Beyond the food, he shared fascinating stories about the area and its history, giving insight into the restaurants’ backstories. We learned so much and had a wonderful time! We would seek out Manny as a guide again.

Our tour started with Scrambled Eggs Mexicana and Hibiscus Aqua Fresca. It was only up from there. Many delicious local eating adventures. Some of the best food we've eaten ever. Local markets, produce, plants, and everything else. Tortilla Factory was so impressive. Thanks Manny, we hope to tour again!
Manny knew what he was talking about. The tour wasn’t just good food but also a lot of good history about the food and restaurants in the area. Highly recommend doing at the beginning of your trip so you don’t waste your time on mediocre food.
We had a wonderful experience on the taco tour. Roman was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and an overall amazing tour guide. He carefully selected an array of authentic taco trucks and restaurants. We learned so much while enjoying fresh and delicious tacos from local family-owned businesses. We ended it with a sweet treat (paletas), and Roman even took photos along the way and shared them with us. So worth it!
My wife and I took the taco tasting tour. Turned out to be just us, so we got to ask lots of questions from our guide who was a chef. Great food and learned a lot about local food, and visited many new places. I recommend pacing yourself and don't feel like you have to eat everything.

Easy walking tour through the streets to visit small but established vendors. Tasty selections at each stop. Come hungry, you'll be experiencing a lot of foods and flavors. Roman was an excellent guide of the neighborhood and a knowledgeable foodie. The meeting place was by the Arches (not clear when booking).

We had a wonderful evening, awesome experience. Our guide Roman was extremely friendly, explained the food, heritage, culture, and history. As we toured, on foot, we took in lots of sights and sounds - areas we likely would never have found on our own. We did the evening tour, it was just enough walking to explore the neighborhoods but not so much that it ever felt long. They were able to accommodate our dietary need (gluten free) and I was surprised at the level of care and attention Roman placed with each stop to ensure GF - corn only - options were available, right down to knowing ingredients in sauces and creating alternatives. Our family - 3 teenagers - loved the evening, all of us said how much fun the experience was, and the food is authentic and delicious. So happy we ventured away from the resort - this excursion is worth every penny.

We were given a walking tour of a variety of local taco restaurants and a chance to try the delicious tacos they specialize in. All were delicious and they were places we would never have found on our own. Roman did a great job of talking about the restaurants' history and you could see the pride the owners have in showing off their creations. Great experience capped off with a sweet treat!
What a great experience! We were delighted to discover that Spicy Vallarta is run by two guys, Roman and Manny. Roman was our guide and he is passionate and knowledgeable about food as he is a chef himself! We ate delisious tacos at 4 different spots; 2 food carts and 2 restaurants with 2 dessert places. This experience really expanded the places we will frequent in PV. Can’t recommend this enough!

Ours was an afternoon of fun and entertainment led by an informed local guide. The food was authentic and delicious. We had a walk through Old Town Puerto Vallarta stopping at various eateries learning about the vendors and food ingredients. There was a variety of fillings to suit the tastes of any participant.

Awesome experience and amazing food! I was the only one on the tour and while most other tours probably would have cancelled, Manny didn’t and took me out solo. We ate a lot of street food that I probably wouldn’t have gone to on my own or would have been intimated to order in my broken Spanish. Everything we tried was so good. He asked me to pick a favorite when we were done and it was a struggle to choose. Book this tour if you like tacos…you won’t regret it!
There is more than just food to learn about on the tour. We learned a lot about local drinks and the history of local street vendors.
