2 Hour And 30 Minutes Walking Tour In 5 De Diciembre

Manny guided us on a fabulous food tour through 5 De Diciembre. Not only did we enjoy tasting a delicious variety but we also learned about the history and traditions.

Manny our guide was like reconnecting with an old friend. He got to know us and what we enjoy then catered the tour accordingly. We were so impressed with the places the food and most importantly connecting with the people who make the food. All the stops had a very unique family story and Manny was the perfect choice to tell their stories. Watching taco shells being made and walking through the local markets full of fruit, vegetables, fresh fish and meat was the exact connection we wanted to make as we enjoy learning about local cuisine! We were grateful it was a walking tour and actually shared at some of the stops as we did not wish to be wasteful and offend our hosts We highly recommend this tour and suggest that the company create a tour that includes picking up your fresh ingredients from the market to then learn how to make an authentic Mexican dish! Manny is very knowledgeable of all the restaurants and favorite Taco stands! I would highly recommend this for anybody that is looking to move to 5 de Decembre.

I don’t know whether to rave about the food first or our guide, Manny. Our tour started with a short walk to the most nondescript taco spot. It was unassuming and the place where I had an unforgettable pork belly taco. Sure, my group had others but the pork belly had me trying to go back the next day. It was so good that I expected to be underwhelmed for the remainder of the tour. I was wrong. We had more delicious food than I could eat, though I tried. Manny was a personable and engaging guide who showed us the sights, explained anspe of the food culture and helped us experience the flavors of PV. Our group had a couple folks with limited mobility so our tour took a little longer and Manny never rushed us or lost patience, despite having an engagement immediately following the conclusion of our tour. I could say more, but I’ll let you experience this amazing tour for yourself. If I ever make it back to PV there are definitely a few gems I will be visiting again thanks to Manny.

Our group of 6 booked at the last minute (9am for a 12:30pm tour), and Manny rearranged his schedule to fit us in. The tour was great! He shared the history of the neighborhood, restaurant owners, and the city with enthusiasm. We could tell he really loves PV. Two of our group had mobility troubles and he exhibited such patience, slowing the pace and stopping to rest when needed. And the FOOD! Almost every dish was delicious. At the end he gave us recommendations for many other tasty eateries in the area. This was one of the BEST food tours I've experienced. I highly recommend this tour, Spicy Vallarta in general, and Manny specifically!

5 Stars +++++ Wowzah! What a great tour with Roman. Super friendly, informative and fun. We got a great feel for Cinco De Diciembre. So many great adventures like the Tortilliaria. The local people, markets and food were phenomenal. Bixabeel Kitchen, very welcoming and charming. Best Chilaquiles Divorciados and Mimosa's cranberry was delicious. We couldn't take sides on the Divoriados, red and green were both superb! Great family run business, please taste you'll like it. Can't wait to visit again! So many other wonderful businesses and cafes, not to mention the beautiful authentic neighborhoods. We are excited to walk with Roman again. Gracias Senior

We have done several food tours in PV and we have enjoyed them all. Our guide was Roman and he was great and very knowledgeable! I would highly recommend!

Roman was excellent. He knew the area very well and was very educational in how the foods we were eating were prepared. Definitely would recommend.

Manny was a fantastic guide, friendly, informative, and a great sense of humour. We loved every one of restaurants we went to, each a little different in their style of cooking/preparing tacos. We also loved the 5th, highly recommend this tour.

Manny took us to really quaint family run taco places. Really enjoyed the stories of the owners. We ended our day with delicious ice cream.

We had a wonderful experience exploring 5 de Diciembre with Manny. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of information about the area. We stopped at over five different spots ranging from freshly made tortillas, tacos of all kind, gorditas and ice cream. Manny did not rush us whatsoever and we felt like we were on our own time which was very relaxing. We were very full with all the delicious food by the time we finished. Highly recommend this activity with Manny!

Amazing hidden gems, great food knowledge and showcasing the local vendors and neighborhoods…this is the best of what food tours have to offer, to get a glimpse of the vibrant neighbour and food culture.

This was a super fun taco tour! Manny met us promptly at the market and taught us about how they make tortillas, then took us to an amazing carnitas taco shop. It was only my partner and I in our tour group, so Manny asked us what we liked and then catered the next shop visits to our preferences. We got to try pork belly, carne asada, an adventurous taco that he didn’t reveal the meat until we finished (and it was delicious), birria, and more. The finishing touch of the ice cream/frozen fruit bar was perfect. Manny taught us so much about the neighborhood and culture, as foodies we were very impressed by this tour and we would come back again! I would recommend the morning tour, it seems like the locals eat tacos at breakfast time and Manny said some shops might run out by the afternoon. Don’t fill up on breakfast on your own, save room for these amazing tacos!

This tour was so great! We chose the morning tour and met promptly at 9:30 AM and started learning about the local market and visited a tortilla factory. I ate some of the best carnitas I've ever had the pleasure of tasting which was quickly followed by equally as good tacos and gorditas from other vendors. We also had different agua frescas at each spot (my favorite bing the fresco de cebada - a refreshing barley drink). the 2 and half hour tour went by so quickly and we were so full and satisfied by the end, but still had room for ice-cold popsicles before we parted ways with our guide. This tour was a fantastic value and a great way to learn more about the less-touristed areas of Puerto Vallarta. Our guide took great care to tell us all about the history of the 5 de diciembre neighborhood and let us know if we had any questions later, we could easily reach out for tips and recommendations.
