The rooms were OK but very dated. No many options to choose from when it came to dining. The staff was nice. There was a loud noise that sounded like the battery was low on the smoke detector every night. We did a presentation that was supposed to be 90mins but ended up being 4hrs because they sent us to talk to at least 5 different sales people in thought we were never going to be able to leave. They are very aggressive and no one has integrity. Beware!

This is when I wish I still had Facebook and Instagram, to post a review. I am reviewing now instead of the end of our stay at Villa del Palmar because the potential hurricane Simon hitting landfall. I travel a lot. I’ve been in 2 other weather storms. One in Fiji during Cyclone Winston (which destroyed the resort) and the other a hurricane in Maui. I’m so impressed with the care given at Villa del Palmar. They not only prepared the resort for the impending storm by taping and boarding windows and entrances, removing outdoor furniture from all the rooms, as well as all the furniture at the restaurants, keeping the guests in the loop by bulletins, letting us know when the restaurants will close, and then knocking on our doors and calling at 9:15 last night to provide us with dinner. This morning, at 7:30, staff came around to bring breakfast/lunch. We’ve stayed here a few times through the years, but I definitely have a heightened respect for the company and staff. Kudos and muchas gracias!
The resort itself is a beautiful place and would be perfect for a mini vacation. Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by the way some of the staff treated us. The employees were extremely rude and made us feel uncomfortable during our stay, which took away from what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. When you’re paying for an all-inclusive experience, you expect to be treated with respect and receive good customer service. Sadly, that was not our experience here. Because of the poor service and uncomfortable interactions, I will not be returning. I would recommend looking into other options where guests are treated with the respect and hospitality they deserve.
Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. What was supposed to be a family trip ended up becoming a very disappointing one. My brother left his phone on a chair at the hotel's beach area, and when he returned just a few minutes later, it was gone. The hotel refused to show us the security camera footage, and the staff dismissed the situation without offering any real assistance. This is only a brief summary of our bad experience. Future guests should carefully read the agreement they sign before staying at this hotel. We have traveled to many other countries and have never experienced anything like this. The material loss is the least important part; we just hope no one else has to go through a situation like this. Please take good care of your belongings if you stay at this hotel. 19/7 to 26/7.
My husband and I spent 10 days at Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta First, I want to recognize some of the amazing staff who truly made a difference. Rodrigo at the beach was outstanding—he always made sure we had an umbrella and took the time to get to know us, which made our experience feel very personal. Ian and Paco were also fantastic—we joined their kayak tour on Friday and it was amazing. They brought so much energy and were genuinely excited to help and engage with guests. A big thank you as well to Teresa, our housekeeping attendant, who kept everything spotless in our room, and to Margarita from the timeshare team for her great customer service. We chose not to do the all-inclusive plan, which worked well for us as we preferred exploring local dining options. I highly recommend going to Campomar just across the street as the food there was excellent and definitely a highlight of our trip. In terms of the property itself, there are a few areas for improvement. The rooms are quite dated and would really benefit from renovations. The beach is beautiful and one of the best parts of the hotel, but it can be a bit frustrating as you need to wake up early every day to secure a chair. Overall, we had a good experience thanks to the wonderful staff and great location.
