We are at Secrets. Food very good and flavor and preparation of the drinks but super low quality of the liquors and beer I understand you have upgrades but I have worked for Hyatt for 6 years and I know the standards. I was looking for a package only Ramon was able to help me to the rest I was asking nobody cares. At the end they told me they are not allowed to received packages (I lost my money from rappi) . My rooms supposed to be cleaned when they gave me the room for the first time and it had a case of pringles open. Also I paid for 2 queen and requested for that and the put me en kings (Christian tried to help me very kind but didn’t have more rooms at least he moved us in “connecting” rooms. The service and the food saves the place and people from service they tried their best but not all. I mean was good but not as good as I expected for the price . Also for the category you can not use the smart tv.Thanks for reading

My family and I (six adults) recently returned from our stay, and unfortunately, it was our least enjoyable summer vacation resort experience to date. While the property is marketed as a five-star resort, the level of service did not reflect that standard. Upon arrival, the check-in process lacked organization and communication. We checked in around 12:00 p.m. and understood that our rooms would not be ready immediately. However, after waiting in the lobby for nearly three hours, no one informed us when our rooms became available. My husband eventually had to ask after noticing that guests who had arrived after us were already receiving their room keys. We reserved three rooms, including one upgraded to a Privilege Suite, but we did not find the upgrade to be worth the additional cost. On our last day both elevators stopped working and we had to walk down 4 flights of stairs, back up and down again to get our luggage. The dining experience was also disappointing. The food was very basic, and although guests have access to the Dreams side of the resort, many of the lunch restaurants offered nearly identical menus, making the additional dining options feel repetitive rather than beneficial. Our biggest concern was cleanliness. My husband saw roaches in the buffet area on the Secrets side of the resort. After that, it was difficult to feel comfortable dining there for the remainder of our stay. The resort itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but the service, dining, and cleanliness fell well below what we expect from a five-star property. We have stayed at other resorts that provided significantly better hospitality and overall value. Considering how much we spent on this vacation, we left feeling disappointed rather than relaxed.
I’ve been looking forward to writing this review. My fiancé and I got engaged here. With that being said, it is definitely a more laid back, romantic, more couple friendly resort. To start, I have to show my sincere gratitude to Jose, our personal butler. He was friendly, attentive and welcoming. On daily basis, he made sure to check in on us to inform us about the daily resort activities, restaurant recommendations, and went above and beyond for special requests and our comfort. His attention to detail made us feel at home. The property itself was beautiful and we loved our room. It was clean, beds were comfortable, the AC/fan and showers worked well. We were at the preferred club and our jacuzzi was also great! Pools were cleaned and maintained frequently. Restaurant and lobby areas were well kept also. We want to also give a huge shoutout to the entertainment team at the resort. Carlos and David were fun and energetic, and took the time to know the guests and encouraged all to participate in the activities. Our days would not have been as fun without them! The serves in the pool were also very friendly and attentive, always made sure we had a drink in our hands! The restaurants were amazing! From the breakfast buffets to the fancy dinners at Bordeaux and Capers, the food was fresh and delicious! My personal favorite was the salmon dish at Bordeaux, absolutely phenomenal. The servers/staff made sure to accommodate any requests and took the time to make sure we had the best experience and left satisfied. The bars in the lobby were also great. They often have live entertainment in the evenings and one of my favorite activities was to grab a drink after dinner and sit at the lobby, watch the sunset, get a breeze and watch live music/karaoke. They do offer some “timeshare” presentations so be mindful of that and be prepared to say no. Every single staff member we interacted with was nice and welcoming. They appreciate tips! It was a truly special experience and we look forward to coming back one day.
How on earth this is a five star hotel is beyond me. The people are lovely. The food, however, leaves much to be desired. We ordered a pizza for room service and it was absolutely gross. Not cooked and had cold cuts on it. We couldn’t even eat it. Additionally, we paid for all inclusive and had to pay extra for certain bottles of wine. This isn’t typical for all inclusive. The constant inundation of people trying to sell us stuff on the beach is unsettling (should be private), the hard sales job the second you arrive is a huge turn off. I have stayed at quite a few all inclusive resorts and this doesn’t even hit the mark. I won’t be returning. Take a lesson from Couples Resorts. They have it down and are top notch.
This trip took us to Secrets Puerto Vallarta, and whew… let’s get into it. The adventure started before we even arrived. We arranged transportation in advance and still ended up paying for our own ride because the scheduled transportation never showed up. No call, no text, no explanation. Not exactly the welcome experience you want after a flight. Upon arrival, I honestly thought we were at the wrong place. The curb appeal was nearly nonexistent. Eventually we found the actual entrance. Better? Yes. Breathtaking? Not exactly. Check-in itself was smooth, but get EVERYTHING in writing before arrival. I requested a swim-up room and was told I’d have a higher floor with a king bed and ocean view. Instead, I was placed in what I affectionately call The Basement Collection™. When I say basement, I mean if the ocean got one good stretch and yawned, we’d have been beachfront. Throughout our stay, we met several guests who shared surprisingly similar stories regarding room expectations and upgrade availability. Many were told upgrades would be available for an additional fee, only to arrive and discover otherwise. Maybe it was inventory issues. Maybe it was coincidence. Either way, it became one of the more common conversations around the resort. The overall experience felt very inconsistent. There were moments where I could see why people enjoy the property, followed by moments that left me scratching my head wondering how this place earned its reputation. Food was probably the biggest example of that inconsistency. The sushi restaurant was excellent. The seafood restaurant served a steak that tasted like it had spent its entire life preparing for beef stew. The Mexican restaurant looked beautiful, but the black beans tasted like they had witnessed a federal crime and entered witness protection. Then hibachi arrived and restored my faith in the culinary department. The beach was decent, the weather was beautiful, and the resort itself was clean. However, service often felt hit or miss, food quality varied dramatically from restaurant to restaurant, and some aspects of the experience felt more “vacation compromise” than luxury escape. Fortunately, the activities team deserves a standing ovation. They brought energy, engagement, and personality to the resort. Karaoke night was unexpectedly entertaining, and several guests could actually sing. Then came hibachi night. Finally. A meal that reminded me why I booked the trip. By the end of the vacation, I found myself appreciating the people, weather, and activities far more than the resort itself. To be fair, several guests told us Secrets Puerto Vallarta is considered one of the better resorts in the area. Reviews are subjective and everyone travels differently. My perspective is influenced by experiences at Hotel Mousai Puerto Vallarta, which has set a very high bar for luxury accommodations, food, and service. Would some guests absolutely love Secrets? Without question. Did I? Not particularly. ⭐ Michelin Cousin Score: 2.3/5 The vacation was ultimately saved by good company, beautiful weather, the activities team, karaoke night, and one heroic hibachi chef who refused to let the entire culinary department lose hope. As for the resort itself, if this diamond rating is accurate, somebody may want to take it back to the jeweler for a second opinion. Right now it feels somewhere between diamond status and highly motivated cubic zirconia.
