It was a great hotel, pretty clean but some areas could be deep cleaned in the rooms. The restaurants are good (not great). I wish they had more authentic local food. The pool is a bit too warm for my liking. I like that they allow local vendors on the beach. You can easily walk out of the hotel to shops. The waves area a little strong on this beach but swimable.

Our third time back. We stayed at Dreams this time. We had a great time and after 4 nights we wished we could’ve stayed there for ever, lol. Staff throughout were amazing. Shout out to Esteban, a waiter who was extremely professional and attentive during Mexican Cultural show. Also, another Esteban who assisted in activities was a lot of fun during beach volleyball and various other events. And lastly, Oliver a waiter who treated us like royalty and made us feel welcome but didn’t overdue it. Thanks again for sharing your hotel, hospitality and yourselves with us. We appreciate you all
Overall the resort LOOKS beautiful, but the experience starts feeling strange once you realize everything comes with an upsell attached to it. Better Wi-Fi, better seating, “premium” experiences — it never stops. At some point it feels less like a vacation and more like being constantly marketed to. One of the weirdest interactions was with the Secrets VIP manager. I asked a pretty straightforward question about getting a bottle service setup on the Secrets side of the resort and whether it included a day pass. Instead of giving a clear answer, the manager became awkward and oddly rude about it, like asking basic questions was somehow offensive. What made it even stranger is that while wandering around the Secrets side later, we noticed they were openly selling bottles there — something that was never even presented as an option over at Dreams. So apparently the availability depends on which side of the property you’re on and who you ask, but nobody explains that clearly. The whole resort has this underlying vibe where information feels intentionally vague until there’s an opportunity to charge you more money. Staff seemed exhausted, communication was inconsistent, and every conversation somehow turned into another premium offer or upgrade opportunity. That said, I do want to give a huge shoutout to VIP concierge Adrianna, who was genuinely one of the bright spots of the trip. She was friendly, professional, helpful, and actually made us feel welcomed instead of feeling like another sales opportunity. People like her are the reason the experience wasn’t completely frustrating. The views and property itself are gorgeous, and some employees were genuinely kind, but the overall experience felt way more focused on maximizing spending than actually creating a relaxing stay. I am sticking to Marriott resorts in the future I wouldn’t see myself “vacationing” here again.
This resort was a bit pricey. But well worth it. No bracelets! No signing. Food was really good, and beverages were great and staff were friendly, attentive and spoke English. Fabulous location. Very safe. Pool area and view are terrific. No issues with anything! The whole resort was very clean, and beautiful. You can walk to the Melacon and romantic zone, or take an Uber very cheap.
Stayed for 11 days and 10 nights and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and smooth vacation! A few people really stood out to me while staying here: Omar on the Dreams side pool deck was absolutely wonderful! Attentive, funny, accurate, thoughtful, and even took the time to help me with my Spanish! This man is one of the main reasons I will be back to this resort! Carlos in concierge on Dreams Preffered Suites was our butler for our trip and he was exceptionally informative with daily WhatsApp messages with the days activities, perfect at handling any reservations we asked for, and always had a smile on his face! Such a sweet and thoughtful man! Lastly Silo and Gilberto at Oceana preferred club breakfast made our mornings so special! My friend and I had a wicked craving for eggs Benedict, and when we asked if it was possible to have this Silo immediately went back to the kitchen to get our orders started early so they would arrive on time with the other two meals at our table. As I understand he went to two different restaurants to get these ingredients (didn’t find this out until after we had eaten) and we were absolutely blown away with the service and quality! Gilberto also introduced us to the most amazing homemade spicy hot sauce unique to the Oceana restaurant of which we are dying for the recipe for now haha. The facilities are stunning, the entertainment both on the pool deck and in the lobby were top notch and fun to engage in, and the location is perfect as it is only 10 minutes to the airport and to the Malecón. Whale watching is also easy to do from the pool deck as there is a guard who watches the ocean and rings a massive bell every time he spots a whale so guests can enjoy the sights.
