After our trek through part of the Tambopata National Reserve, it was great to get in a shared large canoe and drift/paddle towards the lake. We seen turtles, birds and even a red monkey. Very warm, peaceful and quiet morning trip.

Wally was very knowledgeable and informative, he shows a passion for nature and shares it with you the whole way. Highly recommended.
Sergio was incredible! We did this tour for my Birthday and he promised it would be a day to remember and it most certainly was. More importantly he was so knowledgeable about each and every aspect of the reserve. We were able to spot red howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, baby caiman and a myriad of other animals. We laughed, we sweat, we conquered. The tropical rainforest runs through his veins! Thanks Jungle Boy!
We went on this tour with Wally as our guide. We saw so a lot of wildlife and learned all about the area. Wally is very knowledgeable and passionate about the jungle. My husband and I are older and I have bad knees. He was patient and kind and very attentive to making sure we were able to accomplish everything that the others were able to do on this tour.
It's very special, and the canoe trips at sunrise and sunset are unforgettable. We saw giant otters, alligators, lots of monkeys and all kinds of birds
Charlie and his team are amazing! We saw the most magical animals, beautiful landscapes and all our questions were promptly answered. From guiding us on all the different birds we spotted to helping us get a safe taxi they did it all! Their passion for the land and all its living inhabitants is clear and I would highly recommend them!
After a fact filled trek through the reserve where we saw tarantulas and giant trees learning many facts from our guide Silva as we went we arrived at the beautiful expanse of lake Sandoval. We took a canoe (and the children were allowed to join in paddling which went down brilliantly) we saw loads of wildlife such as turtles, Cayman, heron, tiger heron, howler monkeys, bats and many other birds but the highlight was the family of otters who put on a wonderful display fishing along side our boat. These endangered animals were a sight to behold. Take sun screen and hats, and insect repellent as these are essential. Definitely a trip I would recommend.
Charlie and his team are the best things the jungle has to offer. They really know what they do. And more than that, they love their jungle. They will take you everywhere you should go and with passion. Don't hesitate, this is the best option.
We partecipated a 3 days/2 nights programme in Puerto Paldonado's surroundings with Green House - Tambopata (Charlie's organization, comprehending much of the offered activities). Enjoying such natural spontaneous beauty with an experienced competent guide (witch took care of us all the time), adventurous but careful, was an experience I'll never forget. Everything was comprehended, and everything was up to our expectations: good and local food, gorgeous accomodation in their riverside-lodges (surrounded by wild), nice time-profitable organization of the activities and, of course, a guide that always knew where to look to find the cayman, the rare monkey of frog (depending on hours :D). Adventure activities we experienced (kayak, zipline, canopy tree bridges) where also well organized and breath-taking. Soo... stop reading this boring review, and JUST WRITE CHARLIE!
This tour was amazing, the guides were always professional, and they were always on the lookout for us, the food was spectacular , like the tour, the lake is incredible and you can certainly not leave Tambopata without visiting it, it was an incredible experience
I had such a great experience on the day trip to Lake Sandoval! Jair, our guide, was amazing. He made everyone feel very comfortable and he was really good at finding and pointing out different species of wildlife and plants. The hike and the canoe ride on the lake were so beautiful and we were very lucky to see many species of birds, monkeys, turtles, butterflies, and even a family of otters! I would definitely recommend Greenhouse to anyone looking for a guide to go to Lake Sandoval or anywhere else near Puerto Maldonado.
The excursion itself was fine, but the guide ruined the experience for us. His name is Manuel and the truth is that you could tell he had no desire to be there. He didn't explain anything, he was in a rush the whole time to finish as soon as possible. He left us eating for an hour and a half and when he returned he was rushing, as if he were in a hurry for something. On the boat we barely saw any animals because he didn't point anything out; the few we did see, we found on our own. And then, at the end of the boat trip, there was still a 3 km walk back, and he just tells us to continue on our own, that he would come later. Well, we decided to go at our own pace, and it's a good thing we did, because we crossed paths with other groups and their guides did show us several monkeys along the way. On top of that, we were sharing the boat with another group and we had to wait for them several times because their guide actually showed them caimans calmly. In short, the difference in treatment was quite noticeable. A shame, because the place is worth it, but with this guide we didn't enjoy it at all.
I had never had a guide with so little desire to work and so little interest in the group. He didn't explain anything to us during the entire excursion, he just limited himself to going as fast as possible at all times. He kept us waiting for an hour and a half while he ate, only to come back running later. The few animals we saw from the boat, we identified ourselves, without him telling us anything. The most incredible thing happened upon arriving at the dock, with the 3 km trail back ahead: he told us to walk back alone, that he would go later. Obviously we didn't listen to him and went back at our own pace, and thank goodness, because that way we were able to see several groups of monkeys thanks to the guides of other groups who did bother to show them to us. Also, we shared a boat with another group, and we had to wait for them several times because their guide did show them caimans calmly. A huge difference from the attitude Manuel had with us at all times.
the most impressive thing is to see the whole aquatic ecosystem and the species that we find within them such as shansho the types of herons as well as their flora and fauna (avocados , aquatic plants)
Excellent Service, great travel experience with them. Most recommended!!! They make the whole trip a unique experience, with their very friendly treatment.
Excellent route.... recommended for everyone... you will have an unforgettable experience... Thank you very much
Unique experience the truth, it is admirable the natural beauty I recommend, let us visit this beautiful reserve that will captivate you with its beauty!️🌳🌱
Wonderful experience, 100% nature, a good, beautiful and quiet place that mother nature provides us. Recommended place to visit and have a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Thank you Green House.Charlie Pena Ubillus, the most.
A unique experience, with biodiversity, kind treatment of the person who guided us and I learned that we need the Amazon to live, hugs friend Charlie.
Personalized attention from the first contact and a super nice treatment. We get to see all the animals that the lake offers: the black alligator, river wolves, monkeys of various types and sizes, disturbing birds, taricaya turtles, butterflies flitting around and the imposing anaconda! The guide Luis Negri is excellent, adapted perfectly to the group and managed to arouse the interest of each member, sharing his personal experiences with his academic training. 10 out of 10.
I was going past Puerto Maldonado and decided to take a walk to get to know a bit of the Amazon. Reading the comments on the net, I decided to book a tour with Charlie. That was a great decision! A full day by the river Madre de Dios, forest and lake Sandoval, with a friendly guide (Luis) who gives you a lot of information about the local flora and fauna. Super recommend!
I can only say that it has been all amazing, the excursion, the guides and the treatment received before, during and after the activity. Since I had no accommodation they took the trouble to pick me up and take me to a place for breakfast before starting the excursion, and after the activity Charlie took me around Puerto Maldonado to talk to me about the city. I'm very grateful to everything.
La excursión estupenda. El guía Manuel muy bien. Nos explicó muy bien y procuro que viéramos todo tipo de animales. Recomendable 100%. Gracias Manuel
I remember the first time I arrived in Puerto, I was very excited and somewhat fearful as I travel alone, I did some research on the network and most agreed that the best tour and guide is Charlie Peña, so without hesitation I contacted him, this gentleman knows closed eyes Puerto is passionate in what he knows and gave me the best experience exploring the Peruvian Forest, apart from hearing his anecdotes and experiences of the people of Puerto, it is a delight to my ears. I exceed my expectations!!
Excellent Service and Deal, Trusted Staff! Chestnut tour and coffee were amazing!
When you first get to know a place, you are excited, curious and interested in learning about everything around you in that context. The typical guide of the tours is one that is normalized with what they show you every day without being impressed by anything. Much of the satisfaction depends on him, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Carlos Peña, or Charlie Peña as his acquaintances call him, is that kind of guide you would like to find in every place you visit because it makes you disconnect from everything and focus on every detail that nature gives you in Madre de Dios. He knows everything, keeps being surprised even by the most unnoticed insect and makes you feel that warmth when explaining things to you, just like when you were a child and wanted to know the why of all things. Your visit to Lake Sandoval, Monkey Island, extreme sports, the Manu and many other places has to be guided in a mandatory way by this passionate tourist who knows to a minimum his work. My experience was unique and I wish every tourist had the same experience when knowing the green and seductive landscape of Madre de Dios with Green House Tambopata.
I have visited Sandoval many times but this last one, with Charlie Peña, has been the best. -Why? Very easy: in geographies as extreme as the rainforest comes down, guiding is EVERYTHING. Animals are very elusive and understanding what happens in every corner of the forest is impossible. With Charlie in charge of his team I saw a gigantic black alligator, fed up with river wolves and up to three different varieties of herons. Not counting the howler monkey waiting near the interpretation center. I recommend this tour and to the Enterprise of my friend Peña: Green House Tambopata. On tours of Tambopata and the Madre de Dios jungle are the best. Personalized treatment, jaded info/data traveler and very good price.
