Fun 2 days. Guide Gonzalo was professional. Lodge was comfortable though expecting being hot in the jungle. Food was good. Highly recommend the tour.

Amazing experience the best part of this was the people . Perfect for easy going people who want to disconnect and like to be activity focused with plenty of animals to be seen along the way. Animals seen include Sloth, Crocodiles , many variation of monkeys and birds.
It wasn’t really what I was expecting. The lodge where we stayed was stunning and the people who worked there were very nice but it wasn’t as remote and I didn’t see as much wildlife as I was expecting.
We highly recommend this tour! Fernando was the most amazing tour guide who curated the experience to give us the best balance of adventure and relaxing in the Amazon. He also had an eagle eye when it came to spotting critters! We spotted 4 monkey species, 2 types of caymens, tarantulas, bullet ants, frogs, dozens of bird species, piranhas, and even a capybara! The trip around the lake was our favorite part but the entire experience was surreal. The accommodations and food were lovely and everyone was so kind and helpful.
Mass tourism experience not for the more adventurous travelers. Please note that solo travelers will be placed in a shared room.
The guides are fantastic, doing their utmost to ensure you have the best experience and really lovely people too.
Would not book this tour. The tour is actually a 2 day tour. A lot of waiting rather than jungle time
Absolutely a fantastic trip to the jungle with the best guide, Elar and a great group. We saw lots a wild life both in the evening and during the day. We may not have read everything about the trip -but a good tip is to pack a small bag to bring to the jungle. But definitely go!
It was a great experience, def must see! Ronal was very knowledgable and made the tour really enjoyable, you can tell he really cares about the environment 😊
It was an ok experience. From day one, we paid our $20 fee with the booking, but were just put on a boat with no instructions on where to get off. Luckily we got off on the right stop, but still very confusing. The tour guide, Tito, is a sweet man and was amazing with the rest of our tour on day 1. Day 2 felt long as we were able to see some animals, but we didn’t have the best luck of seeing that much on the day and walking night tour. Day 3 was short, with the canopy walk taking 30 minutes, and we started early for no reason. Our flight was at 5:20, and they had us rush out by 8:30 am from the lodge, and we had to wait by the office + airport in the city. Keep in mind, we had to go at 6:00 for the canopy, had breakfast at 7:30 (almost an hour) and left at 8:30, so very rushed and early in the morning for no reason.
This was an amazing experience. The length of the stay in the rainforest was perfect. We did the 3D/2N and it was a perfect amount. Our guide Rodrigo was amazing and we learned a lot about the wildlife, fruits and plants. He answered all of our questions and did an amazing job. Thank you so much Rodrigo. He was a 10/10 Guide
Had really great time during this tour, the arrangements of the tour is good, not too tired also did a lot of things, our tour guide he is really knowledgeable with a lot of experience which is so fascinating, the food was surprisingly nice, ppl who wanna hotel level stay might find the lodge very basic, but it’s very nice for me as we stay in the real natural and it got mosquito net.
An amazing experience - there were a lot of tours of the rainforest, seeing different animals at different times/locations. The guide Samuel was lovely. The food was delicious, the lodgings are very nice. I really recommend it.
Everything is well planned and you can see a lot of animals ! Our guide Samuel was nice and well knowledged. The food was good and plenty - no one is starving here. The rooms are mostly clean but they don’t bother removing spider webs and stuff in corners, also the pool was a bit dirty and therefore wasn’t inviting to swim in. Those are the only “negative” things though, hence one star less. Besides that, you only sleep there anyway, the days are packed with jungle excursions, boat tours etc.
I can recommend this tour and the stay at Amazon eco lodge. We had an amazing guide who spoke very good English. I slept very well in the lodge, food was good and we had time to relax in between that we could spend at the pool or by watching monkeys, birds or other wildlife from the hammock at the lodge area. WiFi at the common area available. It is a eco lodge, so all depending on solar energy. Electricity worked :) water was not hot but best temperature for humidity and high degrees outside .:) I liked the experience We saw many animals in our activities and learned a lot about the djungle
Great experience all around, if you go in August to September, everything will not be as green, but it was still beautiful. Saw way more animals that I would’ve expected, pool was nice, meals were very good, and Elmer our tour guide was top tier!!
It’s quite an adventure! Well organised and well looked after. Tito was a lovely guide, who has lived an interesting life. The activities have you feeding monkeys, swinging through the rainforest and seeing lots of different creatures. Be prepared for mosquitos, spiders and more. The food was ok and the accomodation was clean but not the most comfortable.
Very good experience, would 100% recommend. Things i wish i knew prior to going so that it can help others. I thought we would be staying outside/ or in a place with limited facilities. You are in luck; dont do what i did and buy a mosquito net and the lot as you stay on a lodge with your own room and private bathroom (mosquito nets are already provided). Brilliant tour guide, good group of people on my tour and was able to see so many different animals. My highlight was the lakes :) Food very good and cater for all dietary requirements. Buy bug spray; you'll need it. Wonderful experience, so so happy i done it. Thank you so much. Only Issue I Had. I had paid seperately at an additional cost to do the zipline & all other people on my tour confirmed they had not paid an extra costs and they were all allowed to partake in the activity. I did question this at the time with the office and was told that they couldnt refund me and that they would getting the money from the other travellers (of course i know that cannot happen as they had all left at that point). They really should of provided us with a refund and for that they lose a star.
Great experience for 2 nights. Fernando was a fantastic tour guide, really helpful and knowledgeable about the wildlife and area! Overall we enjoyed our time
We had a great time at the lodge in the jungle. The staff was very nice and the place looked beautiful. We spent two great days with Elar who was our tour guide. He knows a lot about the animals and plants we could find in the jungle and was entertaining. Thanks for the great tour, especially the trip to Sandoval lake! The last day Elar unfortunately he had to do another tour and the other tourguide, whose group we had to join, didn't really care about our group. We would have wished for more time or activities on the third day. The canopy walk started at 6am and was quite short. After that we got breakfast and couldn't do much as the boat departed at 9:30am even though most of the group had their flight at 5:20pm. We wished there would have been the option to stay longer in the jungle and do another activity or walk instead of hanging out in a cafe at Puerto Maldonado for hours. We liked that the agency provided a taxi to the airport in the afternoon.
The experience was a lot better than I thought it would be. I got picked up at my hotel and meet with the group at the office in town. We were then taken by boat the to lovely lodge. The room were basic but still good for the jungle! Personal bathroom, usb plugs, good beds. The lodge itself is gorgeous, with a pool, and wifi in the dining room. The meals were generous and they provided for my diet. Our guide was great! Gonzalo, an enthusiastic and knowledgable local showed us the monkeys, the caimans, the capybaras and all sorts of wildlife around. He knew was he was doing and kept us safe at all time. I highly recommend this tour. The only negative point I could bring up is that the tour stays a 3 days 2 night, but we were back in the city at 11am the 3rd day. We were all dropped at our hotel or airport or bus station that day.
A unique experience. Camp like environment with planned excursions. Good staff in ideal location. Well planned.
Our guide Fernando was brilliant, very nice man with good English and very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and extremely good at spotting wildlife. The resort was also very good, with a nice swimming pool to relax at between excursions and really good food. 100% recommend.
Amazing unforgettable experience that I would definitely recommend! Mosquito repellent and sunscreen are a must.
the guy at reception desk and the tour guide are sooooo rude. Drivers and guide are never on time. I just wanted to ask for the time the reception guy was soooo impatient...the guide laughed at me with other guides in Spanish and thought I didn't know...you guys are the most rude guy I've ever met before..差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差差
I had such a good experience on this trip. Louis was definitely the best guide I could ask for. The days were packed and I was able to see so many wild animals in their natural habitat. I am usually vegetarian at home and can’t eat dairy and they were more than accommodating. The rooms are hot with no fans but you’re in the jungle. I did learn that people paid a different amount of money each but I think it’s 1000% worth it.
Excellent jungle experience. Couldn’t be easier with airport to airport transfers, all meals included (with large portions) and knowledgeable guides taking us through all our tours.
Our guide Fernando was amazing!! The accommodation was perfect, food was fantastic, decent quality and good portions. Amazing experiences. 100% recommend.
We had a wonderful time on the Amazon tour! Our tour guide Ronal was really friendly and informative, and his passion for the jungle and its wildlife was infectious. We saw a bunch of wildlife in their natural habits like caiman alligators, capybara, different types of monkeys, birds, and insects. The food was good and the cabins were comfortable. Would definitely recommend this tour!
We started off with a jungle walk, learning about the local fruits and trees which was very good. All together we saw four species of monkeys, capybara, brown agouti, caiman, and quite a few bird species, including toucans, but no jaguar or sloths. Many hairy tarantulars! The food was OK and they catered to vegetarians. The accommodation was basic but we had electricity due to solar panels, and cold showers which was a big relief due to the hot and humid temps. Day 2 the trip to Sandoval lake was very good. We could have had an activity between lunch on the second day and the evening walk at 6.20pm. Day 3 the canopy walk was very good. Our guide, Ronald, was very knowledgeable about the biology of the different animals, plants, and trees, and passionate about the conservation issues of the area.
Great experience, I wish I had more time to spend here!! Ask for Fernando, he is the best guide you can get for sure.
The guide Ronald was awesome. We saw lots of stunning wildlife. The activities were varied, fun and interesting. No aircon and a hot pool made it tough to cool down during the peak of the day.
While we had a GREAT GUIDE (shout out to Ronald) he was a subcontractor. I thought the tour was extremely overpriced for the services, accommodation and food provided. And I paid less that others in my group. We were all charged vastly different prices (from $150-$500) for basically the same things. We also got charged an extra $20 USD for entry into the Tambopata Reserve and yet when we arrived, the park entry was only 30 soles (<$8). This really rubs me the wrong way. The 2-3 day tour should be worth <$100. We saw monkeys, many birds, a cayman and lots of insects/spiders (yuck) but it wasn’t what I would have expected from a rainforest tour. Find another provider or get a better price to make this trip worth it.
This was such good choice! The activities were well spaced out, with lots of time to rest in between. The food was amazing. Our guides Ronal and Luis were just too good! They were knowledgable about the area, and were incredible at spotting the local wildlife. The tour company was also amenable to last minute changes. We changed our tour in the last minute to add the macaw clay licks. While they charged an additional 100$ per person for this change, this ended up being the absolute highlight of our trip. Our ONLY complaint was the lodgings themselves. They depend on solar power for their rooms, so there aren't a lot of amenities, which was fine. But then the charging points were not working in our room, so we couldn't even charge our phones. Other people did not have this issue. When we moved to a different lodge for the clay lick trip, the lights did not work at all! A dark room in the middle of the forest at night is a terrifying place! These room related issues aside, it was an incredible experience!
We had a great time. The environment was amazing. The employees at the lodge were very helpful and friendly. A fan in the room would be very helpful, as during the day it is very warm.
This is a great high value experience for adventurous people. We are a young couple and had an outstanding experience with Fernando. He was an excellent guide and really went the extra mile to make sure we saw everything we could. He was very kind and very knowledgeable. Food was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Highly recommend and no complaints. The entire staff were fantastic. We saw lots of monkeys, birds, tarantulas, otters, turtles, ant eaters, cabra, caimans, and lots of other wild life.
Our 3 days at jungle turned to be 1,5 days. They took us back to Puerto Maldonado at 8 am on the 3rd day. The cleaness of the lodges were poor and in our lodge the running water was dripping and next door it was running. Food was good. Our quide knew a lot about the flora and fauna.
Everything was great, it exceeded our expectations, the accommodation was great, the food was great, the activities were great we got to see so many different animals and the guides were amazing!
The tour guide, John Borris, was excellent, very knowledgable and friendly. He made the experience very interactive and educational, as well as catering the experience to our needs. The lodge had a family employed to cook, clean, etc. They speak no English but if you can speak Spanish, they are very kind and supportive people. All good and drinks were provided and excellent standard, with many local dishes served. Unfortunately, the negative review stems from the fact that one of our guests item of clothing was stolen from our suitcase whilst we were away. It is normal to leave bags at the office whilst only taking necessary items on the excursion, we did this. The item stolen was a very expensive brown poncho, which was 100% in the suitcase at the time of leaving, and not there upon returning. The guest in question is very upset. The staff seemed not to know where it went, so I do not believe this occurs frequently, but it did with us. Be warned about leaving your special possessions with Pelota :)
I am so glad I booked this excursion. We were picked up at the hotel by the owner of the company Carlos who is so kind smart and humble. We just told them ahead of time when we would be arriving at the airport and they were there waiting. We had big luggages and they kindly carried them to our rooms (try and pack lighter if you can). Our tour guide Ronal was absolutely amazing. These guides have a degree so they have immense knowledge of the plants and wildlife. The food is well made and portion sizes are good, you may want to pack a few snacks just in case you get hungry between meals. What I loved about this company is how organized and complete it was, there wasn’t many dull moments and it was the highlight of my Peru trip. I would even say this was more exciting than the Machu Picchu visit. The pool was kept clean and it was refreshing on a hot day. Rooms were nice and tidy, shower is cold and do not drink the tap water. Also if you can add on the Zipline it was amazing! I hope this company continues to thrive because the people are wonderful, God bless them.
We had an amazing time! Would defo recommend this trip. Fernando was amazing and knew so much. His English is amazing and he even managed to catch a caiman so we could get a closer look!!! The lodge was lovely and had gorgeous views of the river. Really well organised by the lodge, Fernando and the office.
Don’t let the price scare you. We had wonderful time in the lodge. We were staying at Monte Amazonico Lodge. I guess more expensive packages offer better accommodation. But the one we stayed was very good. All duplex styles cabins. Hammock is at your porch and around the lodge. The whole lodge was pretty big. Food included was freshly cooked daily and delicious. You can pick star fruit, coconut and citrus anytime you want. Our guide Luis was very knowledgeable. He was very thorough for every tour. We added the clay lick. It was a unique thing to see. Yes. There are mosquitoes. We worn long pants and shirts. No insect repellent spray. It went fine. The only drawback is no hot shower in the room. Well, most of the year you don’t need hot water except 2-3 months winter time. I would recommend this package to anyone.
This Eco jungle experience is a culturally unique and animal lover’s dream. Our tour guide’s name was Juan Jose (JJ) and his passion for animals was inspiring. JJ’s knowledge and positive attitude made exploring the Amazon jungle that much more magical. We were in the jungle at the end of September and the weather was a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. Despite the extreme humidity, JJ and his jungle lodge team provided a highly organized and memorable experience.
Our tour guide Victor was fantastic and seemed to know everything about the jungle. We saw lots of animals and often had time to just sit and watch them for 10-15 minutes. Rooms were very basic but at this price you can’t go wrong. Food was terrific and staff/ tour guides were all happy to make adjustments to suit your schedule and preferences. We had a fantastic time.
We saw lots of wildlife including black and white caymans, squirrel and other monkeys, many birds, insects. We had lots of activities and one free afternoon to do your own things and relaxation. We had a wet and rainy canoe morning. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I had a great time here. There was some confusion with the tour office when I arrived because my incoming flight had been delayed a day, but the staff did all they could to communicate and were very flexible. For $200, this is an incredible deal. You get a room, transport, tours and food. The activities were great, even for a wilderness novice like me. The guides were awesome and you can tell the staff is like family. Jaime, the manager and JJ, my guide, were super nice and responsive to needs. The food was simple, healthy and very tasty/well seasoned. Please keep in mind you will be roughing it a bit. There is no WiFi or internet, no hot water and no AC. The accommodations provide only the basics. There are about a million bugs so BRING BUG SPRAY. I recommend OFF Deep Woods.
Great experience Totally recommended Full with activities Excellent menu Great English speaking guide
The tour was ok but if you read the itennerary you would expect more. At least I did. The first day was only 3 times 1 hour of active tour. Not 6 like ir says on the site. Monkey Island is also no guarantee and there is only 1 kind of monkey species on the island because mankind put them there. We were lucky but there are guests who didnt see them. Second day was better but there too it says 12 hours which is not true. We were active from about 5 till about noon with almost an hour of doing nothing at a homestay. After lunch there was nothing at all untill 6.30, an hour walk before dinner. The last morning we did the canopy walk. The way there was a bit wet according to our guide so we got boots, uou expact that to be sufficiant. I took my expencive camera and ended up with flooded boots and water up to my bum. Teryfied I would fall and damage my camera. If I had known I would nor have taken it with me. Food was great though
Our tour guide Daniel was really good. He was willing to go extra mile to fulfill guests' needs Got an opportunity to meet owner Carlos and his family. Very nice person. Our flight was an evening flight. He made arrangements for special drop off. Overall, good experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at Monte Amazónico Lodge, it is a well equipped and well maintained complex in the heart of the rainforest. All the excursions were interesting and informative and our tour guide, Grimaldo was the best! He paid attention to every member of our group and he made sure we see as much beauty of the Amazon as we could in the 3 days. We could easily spend there a week or two.
