The boat ride a must and the Captain Jorge was amazing. He knew exactly where to stop to watch whales mating then the came super close to the boat. Not low enough to touch thw whales but they were touching the boat and playing around, under us, it was the most amazing experience. I was here end of august, try to come September onwards during pe guin mating season.

Itinerary
Whale season: from June to mid-December. We leave early for the Valdes Peninsula Natural Protected Area. Along the way we will make a stop at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, where we will visit the Interpretation Center. From its viewpoint we will have the possibility to observe both gulfs at the same time, understand the geographical characteristics of the peninsula and appreciate the Island of Birds.
This interpretation center is a must, where we will know in detail the flora and fauna of this wonderful World Heritage Site: Valdés Peninsula. A few meters away, you will find a panoramic tower from where you can observe Bird Island and discover the inspiration of the aviator and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Was it a hat... or a cobra that ate an elephant?
Only urban center within the peninsula. We will tour the place and, between late June and early December, those who wish can take the whale watching excursion (paid separately).
We can observe this impressive natural formation where a sea tongue enters the earth. Here it is possible to observe a wide variety of fauna such as elephant seals, penguins (according to mid-September to early April season), sea lions and, hopefully, killer whales performing intentional strandings to feed.
Between December and May, we recommend not to miss this stop. Here is an important continental colony of sea lions and is considered one of the best places in the world to try to observe orcas by performing intentional strandings to feed. In addition, the site has an interesting interpretation center that complements the experience.
Between June and December, we recommend visiting the southern part of the peninsula, where it is possible to observe salt flats, elephant seals, sea lions and a wide variety of terrestrial fauna.

The tour was super nice, in a small group and the guide was very flexible and adjusted the schedule to improve our chance of seeing orcas! He was very nice, knowledgable and eager for us to see as many animals as possible. I'm super happy with this tour! The consultation through whatsapp was also easy, quick and very helpful!
The day trip met all of our expectations. Our tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable. The tour gave us time at each stop to see the wildlife and enjoy the location. We had a great day and loved seeing the Peninsula and its wildlife. Thank you Animal Tours.
I love senator very nice hotel animacion the shorty the best one
The trip is perfect, loves Hugo guided tour
Nice all day trip. Hugo was excellent at spotting and identifiying birds and animals. Great way to see the Peninsula Valdes
Great trip, well organised, great tour guide as well. The scenery and animals don’t disappoint. And also a shout out to ANP for managing these natural areas so well.
Thank you and your company really earned your name, Animal Travel! The guide, Verena, is super knowledgeable about biology of each of these animals. Driver, Nabal is an excellent safe driver. All of the staff waiting for us at the port were very friendly and helpful. The tour was for 12 of us in a 15 passenger van, very comfortable. Verena was able to pay for our entrance tickets in a few minutes so we could spend more time touring - ran very efficiently. With the limited time, we were still able to visit Punta Pyramida at the end of the tour. Lunch box is a good way to save time and pretty good. Thank you for bottles of water. Verena also talked about wine, asado, culture and Mate. We learned a lot. All of us were convinced to visit Punta Madryn in September again! Or October, November. We would LOVE to take your long tour to see whales next time. Thank you everyone!!!! Roger and Yasumi ☺️
The tour guide was very nice and managed the time perfectly. The guide was very professional and explained each attraction in detail.
What a beautiful and perfect day! Cecilia and Nico guided us through the peninsula stops, sharing facts and personal stories. Nico made sure to stop at every sign of wild life and played fun music. Cecilia treated everyone like family and made sure she translated information when my kids didn’t understand. They tailored the experience to all the travelers requests. Seeing the whales and animals along the drive were our highlights. Nice weather made a difference and it is a long day, so remember to pack snacks.
Our day was incredible! Communication was 10/10. Our van was comfortable, our tour guide Cecilia was knowledgeable, engaging and kind. Our 6 and 4 year old girls had a wonderful day that they will remember forever. We would a absolutely recommend Animal Travel to all of our friends and family visiting Puerto Madryn!
Outgoing, friendly tour guides that don’t rush the process and give great local insight. Pick up and drop off at your hotels.
We went to different areas in the jeep, and got out of it many times to walk around. Edu was very knowledgeable, and tour was a lot of fun. There were only two of us so no issues seeing things from the vehicle, but it might not been as pleasant if we would have had to sit in the very back where you face each other .
The trip was supposed to be a day trip costing $125. It turned out this included a van 18 other passengers and a guide who was good but mainly spoke in Spanish( supposed to be in English) you have to pay for the entrance to the park and we were taken to a whale watching trip which cost us an extra $125. They don’t tell you this before or at booking which I think is wrong. Please note the trip will cost you $125+$125 +$25 or so for the entrance. No lunch included. Know what you are getting into!!!!
We had an excellent day with Ugo. It was a shared trip although there were only 3 of us that day which felt like a private tour. It is a long day with lots of bumpy roads but it was worth it. We saw lots of animals including Orcas (this took a long time and lots of patience and they were out to the ocean and not near land but we still glimpsed them thanks to Ugo working hard to track them). We stopped for lunch near the sea colony later than anticipated due to waiting for Orcas, which was fine by us. Overall had an excellent day and if you get Ugo as your guide, you will have a fantastic day.
Amazing day trip - guides were highly knowledgeable and passionate about the local flora/fauna and history!! Whale watching boat trip was incredible and we were able to get really close to a mother and baby. There were orcas in the area in Caleta Valdes and they went out of their way to adjust the itinerary so we had the best chance of seeing them (and did!!). Lots of emphasis on respect for the region and animals which I really appreciated - what you see and how is down to luck but they made the process of looking for things highly enjoyable. Thanks for a great day!!!
Fantastic day. We were messaged ahead of pick up and everything on the itinerary was covered. Our guide, Hugo, was great company, really knowledgeable and interested in meeting new people, his company really made the day for us

We enjoyed two tours — Punta Tombo and a whale-watching tour with visits to Peninsula Valdés. These were two super fun-filled days for us! Their guide, Cecilia, was the best we’ve encountered after taking many tours in many countries. She was so enthusiastic and kind — it was clear she loves her job. She speaks English very well, but we were especially impressed by how patient she was with us as we tried to speak Spanish too. Our 9-year-old even asked to have her as our guide for the second day after the first, and we felt the same. We were so lucky to have her for both days! Congratulations to the team for such great work! Muchos exitos para Ceci y Animal Travel!
Our guide Ugo was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, communicative and passionate about showcasing all wildlife and history of Argentina and sharing with professional binoculars and telescope. The customer service has been very supportive too. Best experience.
Great tour to the Valdes Peninsula. Included many stops all over the peninsula. Facundo was a great knowledgeable and experienced guide who told us everything about the flora and fauna of the region. High recommand!
Amazing tour. We’ve seen a lot of wildlife (unfortunately no orcas, but that is never guaranteed). The guide was fun and informative.
We had a fantastic day exploring Peninsula Valdes with our friendly and knowledgeable guide, Facundo. The day was well planned and we appreciated Facundo’s extensive knowledge of the landscape and wildlife of the area. A memorable day that we would highly recommend!
It was a great exprience. We saw not only a variety of see-animals but also many land- animals typical for the region.
Wonderful experience with passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. Would absolutely recommend this to those who want to have a personal and unforgettable trip.
I visited 2 tours: Punto Tombo+ pick up from airport Trelew and tour around Peninsular Valdes. Both tours are great and I would like to recommend it to everyone! You will receive unique experience to contact with wild nature: penguins, guanacos, armadillo, rodents, orcas, see lions and see elephants and a lot of more creatures, flowers etc. Thanks Animals Travel for kind attention to me.
Outstanding trip, I can highly recommend Hugo for his interaction and in depth knowledge of the mammals and the region.
We had a great day with Hugo!! He really was the best guide, very keen to tell us all about the area and Argentina. He went out of his way to try and show us some whales, and we got to see some other incredible cool animals like penguins, seals, sea lions, an armadillo, a tarantula, and a good few birds. Hugo was very hospitable and we truly had the best day with him. Highly recommend!
Luiz was great! Explains some key bits of knowledge and very relaxed visit. Plenty of time to take in the incredible nature and take lots of photos! Would recommend. Much cheaper than other companies
I had a great time visiting Peninsula valdes. Our guide Hugo knew so much about the animals andthe landscape, and he showed us many great spots to experience the wildlife. Would definitely recommend :))
I went on 2 tours with Animal travel, to Punta Tombo on one day and the Peninsula the next day. The guides Cecilia and Ugo were great with a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge, both in Spanish and English. Definitely recommendable!
Even though it was not the season, we managed to see all animals that we planned to see. The tour guide was really nice. Me and my friends had an amazing time! I would recommend to clarify that the picture in your add does not correspond to the experience, as you do all by car and are not able to see animals as close
One of the best 😍 😍😍.i just surprised 😍🥰it's authentic. I love it very much.and i suggested it...
The excursions we have done ( watching orcas and Punta Tumbo ) were amazing. Facundo is a very very brillant guide and person. We enjoy a lot. Thanks for all.
Everything was fine. It was an excelent Tour on the peninsula valdez. Maria was a great tourguide. We Seen every animal what we are at to see. We missed only the Orcas.
Somewhat disappointing long trip to the Peninsula Valdes. Picked up on time from cruise port by guide and small minibus. Very long drive across flat incredibly dull scenery to see a tiny colony of penguins with just a handful close by. Sealions and seals so far away you need binoculars and really good zoom lenses. Dirt gravel road so really bumpy uncomfortable ride. Lunch box supplied to eat en route back. Scenery at the sea not particularly inspiring having seen penguin colonies in South Africa and New Zealand. A very long day and hugely disappointing. Guide was good but we did pass Llamas but didn't stop for photo ops.
What a nice day we had in Península Valdés with Silvia and René. I will totally come back to them if I visit the region again. Thank you team!
The tours are excellent! We have been to Tombo yesterday and Peninsula today! Hugo and Rene were passionate and professional! The itinerary was good, we were amazed to know the interesting information about the sea animals. Hugo knows A LOT! One more thing .. we saw a school bus sinking into the sand. The school kids had to get off and stayed on the side and waited... Our driver and guide helped them to dig their way out. Everybody gave them applause! Though we spent like half an hour, the kind heart is highly appreciated. Or it would be cruel to leave the kids behind and go on our journey, right?
Great company! We had two tours with them and we seriously are considering the third one. Good attention, the trips are very informative, comfortable, friendly guides. We'd like to mención especially Facundo, as one of the best guides we had while traveling across Argentina.
it was amazing , to start the tour guide Jugo was fantastic, spoke perfect english and spanish and made this trip very interesting and tought us alot about the area and the animals , we saw many whales , sea lions and sea elephants and some penguins , would do it again tomrrrow !
Everything was excellent! We had two different days - one going south towards punta tombo, and one going north east to valdes. We were picked up from our hotel each day, by two English speaking guides named Carolina & Juan. Both of them gave a great atmosphere, were very knowledgeable and were approachable and always smiling. The wildlife was amazing, this time of the year (early October) we enjoyed the elephant seal mothers breastfeeding, the penguin couples at their nests, the right wales all around us and the orcas patrolling the coast. Highly recommended!!
Wonderfull. I loved sea, whale, sea lions, sea elephants and the best was killer whales eating.......
Highly recommended! The guides are geniuses and they tell you a ton of things throughout the excursion! Bring plenty of warm clothing because it gets quite cold with the wind.
It was a magnificent trip! The organization, the communication, the landscapes and incredible places. On both days of excursions we had a great time. On the boat whale watching tour, the whales were very close to us. The guide Cecilia was excellent. Now we will have to return to do other excursions that we did not manage to do. Highly recommended!
It is a long tour day, you get to know the main attractions of the peninsula, the whole trip itself is nice, you see little animals everywhere, they explain the place to you, they take you to the best viewpoints, you have time to explore, etc. We were very happy to have done the tour with you, the orcas were left pending, we will be back! 🙂
We made Peninsula to watch Orcas, although we could not see them the trip is spectacular as both the landscapes and the rest of the fauna (wolves, penguins, guanacos etc) was wonderful, also the interactive places like Ameghino and the Peninsula. We especially thank Facundo for giving us layers and binoculars and for stopping to admire more closely so much nature is a beautiful experience to do we also went to pyramids that although it is not right whale season is a divine place to tour
Two unforgettable days in Puerto Madryn! 🐧🦭🐳 We have just returned from two spectacular excursions from Puerto Madryn and are still excited to tell you about it. Macarena gave us information and was always very attentive. Day 1: Punta Tombo and Penguin Paradise The experience of walking among thousands of Magellanic penguins in Punta Tombo was simply indescribable. Seeing them so close, crossing the path, guarding their nests, fighting for territory... is magical. You can't imagine it until you're there, surrounded by them without disturbing them, feeling part of their world. Guide Hugo was a typified ten, with plenty of flair, patience and impressive knowledge. He told us a lot about the history of the place, the fossils found in the area, the life of the animals and how the reserve works. From yapa, we passed the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum in Trelew, which complemented the day perfectly with its fossils and replicas of Patagonian dinosaurs. All very well organized and with an ideal rhythm. If you go to Madryn, this excursion is essential. Day 2: Valdes Peninsula with Facu The second day went to another level. We toured the Valdés Peninsula (World Heritage Site) and our guide Facu’s passion for orcas and the entire ecosystem left me really shocked. His professionalism, his love of explaining every detail (behavior of orcas, elephant seals, sea lions, the unique environment of the peninsula) conveyed enormous respect for nature. Seeing the animals in their habitat, the deep explanations and the energy they put into each stop made the day much more than just a tour: it was inspiring. Not only does Facu know, you can tell he loves what he does and that he catches it. Two intense days, full of pure nature, good company and guides that make a difference. Puerto Madryn and its surroundings exceeded all expectations. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended 100% ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I made the excursion through the Valdes peninsula and it was a wonderful experience. The organization, punctuality and, above all, respect and love for the place, which made everything even more special. I was satisfied with every aspect the landscapes are incredible and the number of animals we could see. The guide a genius, super attentive so that the excursion is the best in everything and very knowledgeable of the place. And the gold star was the orcas!
