Located 180 km from Puerto Madryn, the Punta Tombo Provincial Reserve is home to the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in the world. After crossing the impressive Patagonian steppe, you will walk along a narrow path leading to wide, open beaches by the sea. From September to April, thousands of penguins gather here for their breeding season, sharing the area with other wildlife such as sea lions, coastal birds, and land animals like guanacos, Patagonian maras, rheas, and foxes. You will have the unique opportunity to walk among these fascinating creatures and observe their behavior up close. Depending on the time of year, you may witness different stages of their reproductive cycle, making each visit a unique experience.
