We will go through this important historic area for the city, since it is a historic site, since it was the area where the Welsh colonizers first arrived in these lands.
In this area, we will do 4x4 treks, crossing roads and beaches, with ups and downs to enjoy an incredible view and landscapes. The passengers will live much adrenaline and division.
We will enter the Punta Loma Reserve to observe sea lions and make a walk of interpretation of the native Flora of the area.
The tour starts in the city of Puerto Madryn, picking up each passenger at the agreed point. Then we will start touring the city's boardwalk until we pass the city's first panoramic point, PUNTA CUEVAS. Then we will take an inter-beach route that would allow us to have access to different beaches, which we can access with the 4x4 truck to visit each of these places, to enjoy landscapes, beaches, and unique views. At each of these places, we will make stops of approximately 10 minutes to take photos, walk, and appreciate the place. Finally, we will serve coffee or tea on the last beach, where we will be for approximately 30 minutes.
At this site we will enjoy the beaches and the view of the hill, we will go up the hill with the truck. And finally, we will serve coffee or tea on one of the beaches in the area.
This is a great way to spend three hours in Puerto Madryn. Eduardo was not only a fun and informative guide he is also a very skilled 4x4 driver. Great places visited on the way and all at a competitive price.

A group of 8 off the cruise ship had an enjoyable visit out of Madryn to witness lovely views, some off roading in the dunes to the various beach locations and ending at the seal reserve. An enjoyable few hours out of Madryn with some history on the way before walking around the sites in Madryn itself. An excellent stop with very good coffe and fab views as well. Highly recommended.

A bit uncomfortable due to the size of the vehicle. I started in the very back on a bench seat sitting sideways. It was hard to see anything. I moved to the middle seat and it was a bit more stable. Driving through the dunes was a lot of fun. Pablo was very nice and knowledgeable. Sites were stunning and one stop, we were provided a pastry and coffee and tea.
We loved riding in the 4 x 4 and getting to see so much of Puerto Madryn up close. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to show us the area. He’s also a skilled 4 x 4 driver, taking us into the dunes for an exciting ride. I highly recommend this tour!
The thrill rides is amazing, especially when we drove along the cliff, the feeling is like riding roller coaster, ups and downs, twist and turns, super fun! You not only need a strong “back” but also “heart”!! Our tour guide is a handsome charming guy, very experienced and professional!
Eduardo was a wonderful guide and driver. It was fun going over the hills and dunes along the coast and seeing the sea lions at Punta Loma.
We had a great time. There are some hills, some thrills, and some great information about the history and geology of the area. There’s a visit to the national park to see sea lions too. As others have said, the cake at the end is really good. We had a lady on our trip who struggled to get in and out of the Land Rover. It’s not a strenuous tour, but you need to be able to get up and down from the vehicle.
This was a wonderful and unique experience. The trip was about 3-4 hours and it wqs just us two and the guide. Our wonderful guide and driver, Pablo, drove us up and down the steep dunes to the beaches. It was exhilarating but not scary. The views of the deep blue bays and hills were gorgeous. We saw a beach full of sea lions. On the way back to the port, Pablo drove us through the city of Puerto Madryn - a city I had never heard of but was really beautiful. Our driver shared with us some aspects of his life in the city. It was an honor to spend the day in this wonderful place, and well worth the price of the tour,

This excursion was an exciting tour of the local beaches. We really appreciated their flexibility when our ship was late arriving. Excellent communication about where to meet before the tour. Our guide, Augusto, was knowledgeable and a skilled driver over the dunes and rocky paths. The coffee and local pastry was a great way to end. Highly recommend this tour for a beautiful view of Patagonia.
We (2) were put in a 4x4 vehicle with 4 other people or a total of 6 plus the driver. One person sat in front with the driver, three people sat in the bench seat behind the driver, and then in the back there were two benches running the length of the vehicle where you had to sit facing each other. I ended up in the back which was very hard to get in and out of. Plus, it was very hard to see out of the vehicle from the back as we sat with our heads higher than the windows. It was also hard to hang on while we went up and down the sand dunes. The vehicle was really only good for a party of 4. Driver was a nice guy and interesting to talk to.
Great way to experience the sand dunes and costal paths of Puerto Madryn, with a few white knuckle rides thrown in. Our driver was excellent and very knowledgeable about the local area. Thank you for an amazing trip .
It was amazing. Went up on the desert dunes for amazing views then down the dunes to the beach. Then we went up a dry creek. It was really fun. You could never see these things except in a 4x4. Our guide was great. Pick up was great. I highy recommend this trip.

My husband and I had a fantastic trip with Eduardo on the sand dunes ofPeurto Madryn. Pick up was right on schedule . He gave us a lot of information about the Patagonia region and its inhabitants old and new. Views from atop the dunes was awesome. Got great photos. A nice surprise was he took us to Punta Loma to see the sea lions. And we ended our 1/2 day trip on top of a dune enjoying tea/coffee and the best sweet croissant I’ve ever had from a local bakery . first, I was informed that the 8am schedule we previously reserved will be moved to 12 noon. There was a change in the schedule of the cruise line which we were not aware until later. I insisted that we should have the 8am because the ship was leaving @ 4pm. If they can't provide that we will cancel our reservation and demanded to be refunded. The providers pleaded to us that they be given the business. We wanted to work with them also but they have to provide us the 8am schedule. They finally did and instead of a 4-hr tour it only lasted 21/2 hrs. The 4x4 off road turned out to be a van. It was the worst tour we had of all the 4 tours during our entire cruise.
An enjoyable way to experience a little bit more of Argentina. The off roading adds some fun and excitement.

Brilliant, started in the town, headed out to the sand dunes and along the coast on off road tracks . It was an amazing experience, Ed was great, chatted and very informative of the area. Great coffee stop with sweet bakes and a fabulous view. Could possibly have included a visit to one of the original Welsh settlements but not sure how far they were.
Our group of 8 adults and 4 kids thought this was one of the best excursions we did during a 2-week cruise to Antarctica. Also, we had 2 members of our group who kept changing their minds and the company was extremely accommodating in deleing them and then adding them back in. Eddy and Agosto were terrific guides/drivers and took us to amazing, scenic spots while giving us some off-roading adventures. The coffee/tea and media lunas at the last stop was a nice touch. Would highly recommend this tour!
We had an AMAZING time with Agusto on our 4X4 trip in Puerto Madryn! It was a gorgeous day and the views went on forever. The stark contrast between the white earth/clay/sand and blue sea and sky was simply breathtaking. And then, add to that the thrill of going overland in a 4x4 to places hard to reach any other way.....and well, it was what we call a good days ADVENTURE! Agusto, our driver, was fun, playful, spoke great English, and was very attentive to peoples needs. While one person winced and prayed at the appearance of us going nose first over a cliff and the rest of us urged him on, he found the perfect balance to please all. We arrived in Puerto Madryn on a cruise. The Catalejo Travel team was very communicative throughout the entire booking process and was waiting for us on the pier....as promised. Veronica, the person that owns the company and the main logistic person, was also very attentive to any concerns about ship docking times (arriving late) and other questions that arose. This tour was a slam dunk and we all agreed (in my group) that it was a major highlight to our journey. Thanks CATALEJO TRAVEL! 🙏
Veronica communicated well with us. Our ship was delayed due to high winds and we did not get ashore until 12:30PM instead of our scheduled 9:30AM. We had scheduled 2 vehicles for 8 of us but only one was available because of the schedule change. We put 4 people on the bench seats in the back of the Land Rover and 3 in the middle seat and one in the front. Space was tight and a Land Rover is not the most comfortable vehicle. What it is really good at is off roading and we did lots of that. Edwardo knew the limits of his truck and used them all. It was almost like an amusement park ride. The scenery was breath taking and we enjoyed every stop. We decided to pass on the coffee and treats because it was late in the afternoon and or grandsons were gettin itchy. We could have gone another hour for the same price but we were tired and asked to head back. Eveyone agreed it was a good day even though the only creatures we saw were some birds and one small snake.
Augusto knew really neat places to go and got us there in a well-equipped 4x4. It was fun with many great scenes. His knowledge of biology helped us better appreciate the ocean, flora and fauna and the terrain. We'll worth the tour!!!

Ed our tour guide was very knowledgable on all things Patagonia. The 4x4 ride through the sand use and beach area was stunning and exciting. All in all highly recommenced.
The booking process was simple with good communication beforehand. The vehicles were waiting for us as described and in good order. Our guide for the ED, was very welcoming, knowledgeable and a first class driver who knew the dunes very well. We went up/down the dunes and went to the beach, we also saw the sealions from a good vantage point above the cliffs. We really enjoyed the day and would certainly book again - especially with ED as our guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4x4 tour around Puerto Madryn with Eduardo. The scenery was fantastic ,as was the off road experience. Perfect day to see the Sea lions,and we enjoyed a Tea Break at a beautiful lookout. Eduardo was prompt courteous and a pleasure to spend time with. We shared the adventure with another couple from our cruise ship.

Saw a sea lion colony which was very impressive and had an interesting time hearing about the history of the area, in particular the Welsh settlers in Patagonia. Edu was passionate regarding the geology and flora of the area. Recommended, you'll enjoy it.

The whole experience was amazing and totally different to coach tours as only four were in the off road vehicle. Our guide Eduardo? was a font of knowledge and passionate about the environment. We even went to a small cove where we saw lots of baby seals that were enchanting. The snack of empanada and coffee was a welcome treat. This tour is a must if you like off the beaten track and thrills! It is suitable for any age as my friend and I are 74 and 77 respectively - so go for it.
Loved seeing around 100 sea lions in their natural environment from a viewpoint. Bulls and pups playing in the sea . We got a good idea of what Patagonia is like and our driver/ guide gave us lots of information. The 4x4 ride was amazing
If you are looking for a comfortable air-conditioned tour then this is not the trip for you, as participants will experience a sometimes rugged and dusty ride across the arid landscape. Our tour guide Eduardo provided a true off-road experience around Puerto Madryn, which included climbing sand dunes and rocky shorelines. Along the way, he offered a lot of information about the area including some history and details of the local geography and a lot of general information that made the trip both scenic and educational. All in all, we had a fun day seeing the area and thoroughly enjoyed the 4x4 experience and learning about the Puerto Madryn area from our knowledgeable guide and drive.
Riding the 4x4 up and down the slopes is a new experience. The scenery is good and we got to see a lot of sea lions. The guide tried her best but it’s quite difficult to understand her English.
Eduardo and Carolina were exceptional hosts and did their best to make the trip good. The 4x4 was exciting in part and it was good to see the Sea Lions. We also enjoyed chatting with the hosts during the coffee stop. However, in our view Puerto Madryn does not have a great deal to offer - it's not the best cruise ship stop.
We were picked up on time and as arranged. Our driver was very personable and gave us lots of information about the area and on Argentina generally. We felt very safe even as we tackled some steep and bumpy terrain in a well maintained, capable vehicle. It was great fun and enabled us to see some of the surrounding areas and wildlife. The pastry snacks were delicious. Highly recommended tour.
2 couples in late 60's did this excursion from our cruise ship. Eduardo was our driver/guide. He was excellent driver and very informative about the area. We always felt safe. Excellent 1/2 day tour, we really enjoyed Puerto Madryn.
