Fast-track Kiteboarding Camp: Best For Beginners

This was our second time traveling to Turks and Caicos and using Kite Provo kiteboarding school, and once again it exceeded expectations. Thanks to the instruction I’ve received, I’m now confident riding on my own and now learning tricks, which feels like a huge accomplishment. On this 12 day trip, my friend took lessons with Mati and Conner, and they were outstanding. The conditions were perfect, the beach was not crowded—the wind was amazing—but what really made the experience stand out was the quality of the instruction. Both instructors were on time, professional, and communicated everything clearly and effectively. They created an environment where we always felt safe, supported, and confident in the water. Their teaching style is encouraging, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. They have a great way of breaking things down so it really clicks. With their guidance, my friend made great progress and even learned how to transition smoothly—such a big milestone. They consistently gave helpful, actionable feedback and made the entire experience fun and motivating. I can’t recommend this school, and especially Mati and Conner, enough. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to level up your skills, you’ll be in the best hands.

Great place to learn to kiteboard. Julie and Antek were both amazing teachers! I was able to progress everyday. Provo was easy to deal with and communicated well. Very professional outfit and well organized.

Amazing experience with Alan. Thorough instructor, patient, encouraging. Only wish we were here longer to get out for another lesson! Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time learning to Kite Surf. Excellent instruction. It was my 15 year old son and 12 year old daughter and myself all together with our instructor. We all loved it.

Our group had a mixed experience with Kite Provo. The 4 of us were split across two instructors, Alan and Nic. The two folks with Alan had a great time--they thought his instruction was clear, he provided good analogies, and when the kite went in the water, he helped get the kite back up (which was challenging in the limited wind conditions we were facing). They generally had fun. The other two folks struggled significantly more. Nic's instruction was more laissez-faire. He gave high level instructions and we spent 80% of the time with our kite in the water--he'd watch us try again and again with little success to get the kite up out of the water. We ended up ending the 3 hour lesson about an hour early to come back the next day. Overall, I would recommend that people request an experienced instructor and I'd recommend Kite Provo to have people focus on the fun parts of kite surfing before they start teaching the extra-hard parts of it--getting the kite out of the water during low wind. Folks who worked with Alan are interested in returning, the other ones are not.

I've seen kite surfers in several different vacation spots but never had the option to take lessons. Being in Providenciales affords a great chance to take lessons on the very flat shallow waters of Long Bay Beach. Kite Provo was great to work with prior to my arrival on island and Mark was a very informative & patient instructor for this group of 1st timers. This was a great experience & introduction to a fun sport.

Great for beginners! Excellent instructor (named SJ) for 3 of us. She moved the fast track class (3 hours) along so that we each got on the board a few times in the last hour (a lot to learn that was all enjoyable before that!). Location was perfect with low tide, warm water, ability to walk out into the water & stay together.

I had 5 two-hour lessons with the Kite Provo team in early December 2021 as a beginner kite boarder. Kite boarding can have a steep learning curve, especially for older guys like me. With their excellent teaching (and a lot of patience), I got up during the 4th session, and look forward to moving beyond beginner stage. I booked my lessons directly with them through their site. Excellent starter course for learning to Kiteboard, Mike was an amazing instructor who went at a good pace to learn how to control the kite and start to develop this understanding into a skill. As a coach and educator myself I appreciated his style of teaching, he genuinely wants to help you understand and develop skills for kiteboarding and has a great methodology with teaching whilst also been friendly and approachable.

Kite Provo was exactly what I hoped it would be!!!! I started on day 1 not knowing a thing and by day 2 was up for my first ride. By day 5... I was having some super fun runs and really enjoying myself. My instructor, SJ, was superb. She was very patient, supportive, fun and by the end of the week... I had learned how to set up my Kite, put it away and everything in between. Can not recommed this place more highly.

DO NOT BOOK ON TA! We booked the fast-track class on TA and the day of the lesson we received an email from Kite Provo saying they didn't have room in the class and that the booking system with TA wasn't up to date. They offered us another class a few days later, which only a few of us could still make. Then the morning of the second booked class, they messaged saying that there wasn't wind and thus we couldn't attend the lesson. However, I was on the beach just an hour later and there was lot of wind, so that clearly wasn't the issue. I don't know if they just have problems with booking the right number of people for lessons or if something else was going on, but I was very disappointed by our experience (or lack there of).

My son and I came to Turks with a plan to try Kiting, and as it turned, after 4 lessons with the pros at Kite Provo we were both up and zipping across the Bay, and moving on to intermediate moves. The instructors are patient and thorough and the equipment all new. Kite provo was good about accommodating requests for combinations of friends and families to take a lesson together in order to keep everyone engaged and learning. Highly recommended.

What a remarkable operation. If you want to learn to kite, stop the search and come to Kite Provo. The location provides consistent wind and comforting shallow water with sandy bottom. Gear is top notch including jet ski service, and wireless head sets. That is all nice, however what makes the business exceptional is their people. From the fist inquiry to being confident on the water these people are professional and know the definition of service. My instructor was JR. Kind, intuitive, and a great communicator. 10 stars!

Had Marius for two lessons and was amazed how quickly he helped get me moving. Within 2 lessons and I was up and riding (ish) and loving every minute! Can highly rate Marius and the Kite Provo team.

Had a great day with Mario, who made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The lesson was broken down into bite-sized steps that made kite surfing understandable for me--someone who has not done boarding or kite sports before. I highly recommend Kite Provo and especially Mario.

4 of us were blessed to have kiteboarding lessons with Chris. Our two 17-year-olds and ourselves were ready to conquer, but it's not so easy. However, Chris was a great instructor. It doesn't matter how many times you fly in the sky and screw it up, he will always continue to support you. The best part, he is from my part of the world and moved to where my husband is from later. I felt Chris was common ground for the competition to conquer the kiteboard. Great Times!

I loved taking kiteboarding lessons thru Kite Provo! The thought of kiteboarding scared me at first, but Chris made sure take it slow with me. He baby stepped me thru the process, with visuals on the whiteboard, demonstrating with a bar attached to a tree, showing me himself, then putting me in charge of my own kite. He was loaded with lots of positive reinforcement to help me grow confidence in each situation. My husband also took lessons with Kite Provo, his instructor Marius was awesome as well. He had a lot of knowledge and even gave me a couple pointers, even though I wasn’t his student. All of the staff that I met, Jerry, JR, and Kristen, were super friendly and helpful. Such a great team of people. I highly recommend lessons thru them!

Can’t stress enough about how professional they are. They made sure we (wife and I) were comfortable before we moved on to the next part of the lesson. They also take safety very important so you or others won’t get hurt if a mistake is made. I also loved the attitude by all Chris’s workers, was fun and Pleasant to be around. I highly recommend you taking time to do 10-15 hr total lessons as this will get you to a point where you will have more fun and able to ride with more knowledge, but any of them is good to try. Others could just push you to get up on your board, but Chris will take the time to show you why, and how so you will know what to do when you get up on board to enjoy your time. Hope you enjoy your time trying a very exciting sport.

Spent the day with Mike first learning how to fly a kite on sand, then water, and then incorporating the board. This is probably the best activity we had done and wish that we would’ve did it earlier on in our trip so that we can get multiple trips out into the water. Mike has the best demeanor, patience, and ability to teach and coach what he’s obviously an expert at. My friend and (I not having any experience whatsoever) were able to understand the concepts that he taught, as well as steps to take. This was such an exhilarating experience! I would definitely do it again and would highly recommend it to others!

My instructor was awesome. I had some prior experience with a trainer kite, so we skipped that step and went straight to the larger kite. My instructor was very patient and methodical with his steps of teaching. He gave me all of the tips I needed to get up on the board. I still have some more practicing to do with the larger kite, but my instructor was so great that I feel like I got several lessons all into one lesson. Definitely would recommend these guys. I am 53 years old and was nervous about doing it, but this was well worth it. I now feel hooked and am anxious to get back out there.

Learning to kite surf with Chris and Maui was even more fun than expected. Would highly recommend to any friends visiting the area with or or without prior experience

My family of 5 - me, my wife and three sons (19, 21 & 23) took the introduction to kite surfing with Jimmy and Maui on Monday. The instructors were great - went through all of the basics and were very patient with us as we tried to harness the power of the winds on Long Bay Beach. I would highly recommend Kite Provo to anyone looking for a new experience. Thanks to both guys for a great time!

Well we decided to take a last minute family vacation to Turks and Caicos and rented a home on Long Bay. Sitting on the beach watching the kiteboards the first day, we decided it looked like fun and said lets try it. We asked around with the owners of our villa as well as our two neighbors and they all said, call KiteProvo. I called and scheduled a 3 hr lesson with KiteProvo . Let me tell you after the first hour we knew we were hooked. By the second day we were getting up and the third day - we actually were starting to get a bit coordinated. Maui was our instructor and he is truly phenomenal at what he does - positive attitude, easy going vibe buts pushes you along to continually try and learn new things. When we ran out off wind on our last day, he suggested and Eco - tour and my wife is still talking about what a great time she had. The office is run super professionally - reminder texts, easy billing - pleasant bubbly personality. KiteProvo and Maui in particular helped make our vacation a really special one. Can't wait to sneak down for a few more days and continue fine tuning.

Excellent people. Clear, Concise instructions. On time for appts. Best of all--low wind one day and they said we could do lessons but most likely would not be worthwhile. after discussions, held off. watched a couple of other companies with their customers out on water with kites laying in water due to low wind.

Tried kiteboarding a few years ago, technical and very difficult. But I decided to try again. But this time, super fun experience, and in the short 3 hr lesson, I actually got up on the board. Lau, our terrific instructor used the latest techniques, including wireless helmet communication, and new equipment to ensure we got the most of out of our lesson. Given that most kite surfing instruction really requires a number of sessions, credit to Lau and the whole Provo kiteboard team for helping us progress today. Finally, the location at low tide, and a sandy bottom, allows you to wade far out to keep things safe and calm. Wonderful morning and strong recommendation. Thanks Lau and Provo! Ron

This was an awesome place to take my first lesson in Kite Boarding! My instructor Maui, was awesome to work with. It ended up being a lot harder than I thought it was going to be so I am so glad that I took the lesson. I am looking forward to returning to take more lessons. I would highly recommend Kite Provo for anyone looking to learn Kite Boarding.

George was terrific and so was the team overall. Very organized from start to finish and friendly as well. George did a great job explaining all the details and than demonstrating how each new skill set worked. I was very pleased with my progress on the course and came back for a second lesson with George and would of done a third if we had the wind that week. Harder than it looks...but well worth the 10 hour investment. Madis was excellent in putting the building blocks in place for the next round of instruction. I'll be back!!

Took three lessons, first was 3 hour fast track in very challenging conditions (over 25 kts of wind, very gusty), second was 2 hour in 17 kts of wind and third was in very light, dying winds (only did an hour before wind died down too much). I got up on the board on my second lesson, what a fun thing to do! Had Marchin (Martin) for all three lessons and it was a great experience. We cancelled two lessons, one for too much wind and one for not enough. This is a great place to learn with shallow shandy bottoms going a long way out and an onshore breeze that brings you back towards shore. KiteProvo has a watercraft to take you far out so you don't have to walk or stay close to shore, I didn't see any other schools that had that, a definite advantage!

It was my first time ever kiteboarding and Machin, the instructor, was so amazing! It was me and 2 other guys attending the class. He walked each of us through the technical vocabulary to understand the pieces of the kite, then we tested flying the kite on land which was really helpful. Once we were in the water, we had so much fun, learning how to control the kite and body surfing with it in the water. We didn't actually get up on the board (I'm not sure if this is usual, but maybe don't expect that). Overall, I had such a great time and wish I could have done it again, but it is quite pricey. I will definitely be back and book more excursions with this company next time!

The KiteProvo team was fantastic. Madis was a great instructor who really helped to focus on going me a critical understanding the technical elements of the sport, and provided plenty of encouragement and support. I was an absolute beginner and over 3 two hour lessons learned how to manage the kite, and begin riding in both directions. Kite surfing has been on my bucket list for a long time and I’m so glad I choose Kite Provo. Laura and Lucas are great, fun and professional instructors. Chris, one of the owners, is responsive via email and very professional. Kite Provo is easy to get to and Long Beach is such an amazing spot to learn!! I’m 45 and have found my new favourite water sport...I’m hooked! Private lessons are worth every penny to get 1:1 time allowing faster progression. Can’t wait to be back at Kite Provo.

I always wanted to have a go at Kiteboarding at this great location! My objective was to get up on the board after a couple of days. The tuition was very thorough, from unpacking and preparing the kite to putting it away. I felt i was really being given a proper introduction to the sport, rather than just turning up to "have a go" Both my instructors were calm and gave expert advice even during my "superman" impressions! Having an instructor with a microphone in your helmet definitely beats someone shouting across a beach. The water depth and prevailing wind direction make this place the best for all standards At the end of day two i had some great runs up on the board - so mission achieved and I shall be back for more next time!

My son and I had an excellent time learning to kite-surf in TCI. The location at long beach, near the Shore Club, is excellent. It’s a unique location with shallow water nearly a mile out. Meaning you are never out of your depth wilts learning. Being able to stand on the bottom really helps when you learning to control a big kite. Our instructor Luara was very good and really knew her stuff, having kite surfed all over the world. The equipment was all excellent and well cared for. The waterproof 2 way radios built in to the helmets were an excellent trading aid, so that the instructor can still be helping you even when you are off with the kite. I whole heartedly recommend the experience.

Was looking for straight up professional instructors that actually cared about teaching the skills of kiteboarding. I found them! Chris went through all the things to give me a solid foundation to kiteboard. Would highly recommend to anyone. Might even change my next vacation to Provo so I can use them again
