The best afternoon in our river cruise to Avignon. Our guide was not only an expert on the history of the place he was also passionate about his job, and it showed. I would suggest anyone to take this tour if you have an afternoon in Avignon.

Our guide flow was very nice, spoke English quite well, and was quite knowledgeable. I would recommend a tour with him always always.
Nice tour, but very short window of time in St Remy. The guide, Remi, was great - very nice and shared a lot of information during the van ride. Unfortunately, the stop in St Remy didn't seem worth it. I had to dash around to see things and it was crowded, so dashing wasn't always easy. I'm not sure if 30 minutes is the usual amount, but it would have been nice to know more about what to try and see but would have hoped for more time regardless. Les Baux was nice, but also crowded (it was a Saturday). If you are a slow walker or don't like hills, this stop may be more of an issue. It was also a short window of time so you really only see the village (free to walk around) and doubt you'd have time for hilltop fortress (must pay to access). I had visited there before and the hilltop fortress is nice - if you can wing it. For the village, it was enough time. The last stop, Pont du Gard, felt like enough time. It wouldn't be if you were interested in going into the museum, but it was plenty to walk around, across the bridge, and enjoy the views. It was a nice time of day to be there, around 5:30pm, with the sun starting to set (it was October). A full day tour would certainly give one more time to wander the sites. But, I really wonder if the St Remy stop should be included in this 5-hour tour as it just was not pleasant to feel like I must run to see it. I didn't pay for the tour to just sit at a cafe for 30 minutes waiting to go to the next stop. I wanted to see/experience more of St Remy.
Nice half day trip to visit three neighboring cities. Just right for a five-hour trip. Our guide was quite informative and helpful
Our tour guide for the tour on Saturday, October 3, was Emilie. She was really good - very friendly, helpful, informative and above all vivacious. We had a great time.
Laura provided a fun and informative afternoon. She knows a lot about agriculture, history, film, and local culture. We really enjoyed our time.
We had a small group of only 3, so the guide arrived with a normal car instead of a van/bus which made the trip much more enjoyable, because a decent amount of time is spent driving between locations. Martine was very knowledgable and friendly, and we had a great time, in particular at the Pont du Gard. We extended the trip slightly (20-30mins) for some additional sight seeing at St Remy and at the end of the trip.
Remi picked up our group of 6 people right in front of our river boat in Avignon. His driving was excellent, as was his English. He was able to drop us off very close to the top of the hill at Baux, saving us a trek uphill! A very great intro to three separate stops. Loved them all!
Fun trip going to all the locations. I would definitely recommend they extend the time in Saint Remy instead of Les Baux. We wanted to spent more time exploring and the 45minutes to an hour was not enough time. Since the heat wave, it would have been nice if the guide had started the van before we were all in the waiting. Overall a good tour and a great way to see some other areas without having to rent a car yourself.
A great half day tour with Emilie as our guide. 2 beautiful towns and Pont du Gard and we also stopped of at a sunflower field! Highly recommend.
Lovely afternoon tour beyond Avignon. All 3 destinations very different and interesting. Our guide Jeremy was very knowledgeable about each place we visited
Very informative and guide was wonderful. I would have missed seeing some beautiful sites. Worth the money.
Our guide, Adam, was very knowledgeable and personable. We feel we got our money's worth. All of the sites on this tour were amazing. I would strongly recommend this tour if you are planning to be in the Avignon area.
The walking tour of St Remy was good, not great. I don’t think our guide provided a lot of commentary. It was a little thin. Les Baux was just a drop off for 45 minutes to an hour. Some commentary in the van on the way there. This part dragged and was little more than souvenir shops and a view. Pont du Gard was great and explanations by the guide here were very good.
I really enjoyed this tour. Remi was a delightful tour guide who gave us some history to go with the sights. It was a very hot day but he thankfully had plenty of water bottles. Worthwhile tour!
Emily our guide was exceptional. A careful driver, full of relevant information that she was happy to share.
Our guide Joe was great, friendly, funny and informative. The three destinations were amazing and we felt we had packed in a lot.
We had the afternoon with Emilie and can highly recommend. She was incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about all things Provence. Minivan was incredibly clean and comfortable
The tour was wonderful, and out guide Remi was excellent . He was knowledgeable as well as being very nice. He actually helped us with a transportation problem after the tour was over. The sites were breathtaking. I highly recommend!
The tour was well run. The guide was professional and provided us with good info on places we were visiting. The vehicle was very comfortable and the air conditioning was great.
We had a very enjoyable minibus trip with several stops and photo opportunities. One stop was guided (optional) and at the others we walked around by ourselves. Our guide was very helpful and informative. An excellent tour - thank you.
We had great day out of Avignon visiting some local towns and the awe inspiring Pont du Gard. The full 8 seater we had provided a pleasant and comfortable journey in between our site visits. Our guide Emille was very engaging and friendly, with lots of detail as we tour around and information on our stops. He also provided maps so we could take a photo of them on our phones. We started with the visit to Pont du Gard and it was truly fantastic and followed on to the unbelievably scenic and historic Les Baux, we could have spent so long here and hour seems to fly past. The only slight drawback to the tour was that Saint Remy didn't match up to the previous two stops despite Nostradamus's best attempts! Possibly this was so we could have the daylight for Pont du Gard, which was brilliant. Unfortunately it meant the tour did tail off, through no fault of anyone Saint Remy first would have sorted this minor issue and we think that is the normal order in the summer season by the tour itinerary. This tour is so worth doing and well worth the price so we are happy to recommend this trip.
We wanted to see some countryside and Pont du Gard, so we booked this 5 hour afternoon tour. Tour started and ended at the Avignon Tourist office. The guide picked us up in large van that fits 8 people. He was friendly and drove us to all 3 locations in good time and the tour ended up being only 4.5 hours. At each location the guide provided some information about the stop, let us take a photo of a recommended walk route that was drawn out on a map, and he told us what time to be back at the van. We thankfully brought our lunch with us and ate it during the first stop- I don’t think there would have been enough time to visit a cafe or anything like that.
We appreciated this day tour because it meant that we could sit back and enjoy the view. Our wonderful guide, Ghislain, was an excellent driver, knowledgeable, friendly and even took us to a place not described in the official description of the tour, just because someone in our group requested it. St Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence (my favourite) and the fascinating Pont du Gard should not be missed.
This was an excellent way to see Pont du Gard and some of Provence. Really liked visiting Les-Baux, small town built high into hillside, with great views. St Remy was not that exciting. Emile, our driver and guide was excellent and provided great commentary.
A complete trip through the French countryside with a very knowledable tour guide-- with no need for driving and finding a parking space. A+ to the guide and the tour organizers....
Our guide, Joanna, was superb. She had a vast amount of knowledge about a host of things from ancient history to Van Gogh. The tour could easily be two hours longer with an extra hour at Pont du Gard and a half hour at each village (time for a light meal!), but it gives you a great overview.
We wanted to go to Les Baux and Pont du Gard but the only trip included Saint Remy. We could have skipped that part of the trip. The size of the group was good and the length of the visits were good.
Saint Remy and especially Pont du Gard were a great addition to our Avignon experience! Baux was too steep and too crowded for us personally. I would have preferred to skip this and have more time at Pont du Gard. It really is spectacular!!! Our guide Matilda gets five stars on her own and the only reason this trip gets four instead of five stars was for us, Baux was too steep and crowded. It reminds me of Obidos in Portugal. Too touristy (but what am I, ha!) no one goes there anymore because it’s too crowded!
Nice tour of the villages and Pont du Gard. Our guide Emily was amazing/ she did not let the torrential rains hinder her enthusiasm or our experience.
Sam was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour very much. We had a group of 6 which was nice. Everything was very well done.
You will have opportunities to taste a number of different wines at each of the three stops. You will learn about the winemaking process and understand how wine is made
Beautiful small town with great shops. Check out the truffles and take something home with you. They are all fresh and from nearby.
It's an easy way to see other areas of Provence. It is primarily a shuttle to the three areas with commentary in between. Matilda is great and made it easy for our small group. Les Baux is a wonderful stop.
Very personal excursion into the French countryside. Would’ve liked more time at Les Baux and Pont du Gard, but it was still a good overview and experience.
The sights are great. The only downside was the Tourguide he didn't introduce himself to me. He startet to discuss with me to do it german. I insists I wanted to do in english. I booked the Tour in english. His english was average most of the Freetours guide speaks better english than him.
Friendly guide, nice small group in a comfortable van. Just the right amount of time at each site. This was a great way to see the area if you don't have a rental car.
St Remy was underwhelming, Le Baux and Pont de Gard were amazing! Our guide talked nonstop and was a distraction.
We had a wonderful time on our tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable. I enjoyed the small group, just eight of us. We could've had more time at both St. Remy and at Les Beaux - in retrospect a longer tour may have suited us better but for those with time constraints this is perfect.
This tour was well planned and executed. The tour operator was knowledgeable, entertaining and professional. He gave everyone a history lesson of the 3 sites visited.
The tour guide was amazing and told us all about the different areas we traveled through as well as where to get the best pictures!
We enjoyed this wonderful tour. Emile was our guide. He was very knowledgeable of the area. I would recommend this tour.
Emile was a great guide – very chatty and knowledgeable about the history, the geography, the viticulture and the culinary traditions of the land.
Each stop was spectacular in its own way. Definitely worth visiting all three. The guide is local and very informative and helpful. The small group keeps it intimate.
This was a 5 hour tour, we got 45 minutes at the Pont de Gard, 1 hour in Les Beaux, 1 hour in St Remy including Van Gogh stop. We had a great time, our guide and driver Emile was excellent, friendly and caring with interesting facts and history of the places we visited and the areas we drove through. There were only 2 of us on the tour so we appreciated very much that the tour went ahead.
Emile was outstanding ! His knowledge of the area and of course, French culture added so much to the trip. He had lots of interesting facts to share about the areas we visited and his lunch recommendation was delicious ! And his English was perfect, much better than my French that I practiced that day! I would highly recommend this tour and if you get Emile as your your guide, you’ve won the lottery!
Our guide Remy was excellent - very informative and entertaining. The tour allowed us to see some beautiful and interesting places we couldn't get to without a car. Plenty of time to get a feel for each place and take lots of photos (although we would have loved longer at the Pont du Gare!) Really enjoyed our walking tour of Saint Remy.
Great trip, especially enjoyed Pont du Gard. Just the right amount of time in each place. It was a good idea to go 3 placed in 1 tour.
Emanuel was an excellent and patient guide! He ably answered everyone’s questions and spoke superb English.
Three great and different stops in one half day tour. Would definitely recommend this tour. Guide was great!
