Avignon is spectacular but so is the countryside surrounding it. We were lucky with a beautiful fall day, a very non busy part of the season, and an excellent guide Emile. He was very informative, entertaining, and flexible to accommodate special requests!

We started with a wine tasting of Châteauneuf du Pape wines, and visited domains. The guide, I can't remember her name!, was very knowledgeable on wines, terroir, winemaking... It was very informative. In the afternoon, we started with Roussillon, then Pont Julien, Lacoste, and finished with Gordes which was absolutely gorgeous in the light at the end of the day. We got a lot of cultural and historical information.
Highly recommend this tour. Every stop allowed enough free time for us to explore the towns on our own, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. It was well organized and definitely worth the trip.
Great tour, we saw so much. Emilie was lovely. Good way to max out your time in n Provence
it was a good, interesting day with a knowledgeable guide to Provence highlights. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Great experience! Our guide brought us to the hard to reach places and was very professional. I enjoyed it
It is a way to connect yourself with the universe and nature it makes you be at peace so you can connect with your soul
Wonderful trip with our knowledgeable guide, Oliver, and a great group of people. Roussillon was beautiful, the view of Gordes spectacular, and the walk along sparkling clear waters of Fontaine de Vaucluse the high point of the morning excursion. Saint Remy en Provence was a bit of a letdown, but the castle at Baux de Provence held stunning views, and the afternoon highlight was of course our stop at the Roman aqueduct at the Pont du Gard.
Florian was a fantastic guide — clearly passionate about his work and incredibly knowledgeable. He gave thorough, engaging explanations throughout the trip, which made the whole experience much more meaningful. Highly recommended!
The tour was awesome but our guide, Oliver, made it truly special. His English was excellent and he was both funny and quick-witted. He provided great commentary, and seemed to truly want us to have a special experience. The tour itself included several worthwhile stops and provides a great overview of Provence. We especially enjoyed Pont du Gard at the end, but several other stops were also great. Two suggestions for making it even better: 1. The stop at Gordes in the morning was just a photo stop at the side of the road. We may have preferred a bit of time to explore. 2. La Fontaine de Vaucluse is closed due to recent rockslides. We enjoyed the town and had lunch there, but the guide should advise that the hike is not worth it since you can’t see the fountain after a hot walk uphill. The only other comment is that the van should not be booked for eight people. Maybe seven at most. With a full van, someone has to sit in the middle front seat where there is essentially no legroom and it is very uncomfortable trying to maintain your personal space next to your seat mate.
Martine (our guide) was fantastic. The tour was quite fun—we drove all over the region. The wine tour was fun. We stopped for tastings at two vineyards. The tour of Luberon was also great—we had two separate 1-hour stops in the villages. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful day with our fabulous tour guide, Martina. She was absolutely amazing and full of so much information about Provenance. She kept us entertained with her knowledge of the countryside and history of this beautiful area. It was a top-class trip and great value for money.
We visited Roussillon, Gordes (viewpoint only), and Fontaine de Vacluse in the first half of the day. The second half of the day we stopped briefly at St Remy de Provence, then visited Les Baux and Pont du Gard. Unfortunately, significant time was wasted having to return to Avignon after lunch to pick up 2 passengers who had only signed up for the afternoon and likewise drop off 2 passengers who’d only signed up for the morning half. This seemed very unfair to people who’d signed up and paid to do the full day and having time wasted in this way. We would have preferred to continue to St Remy de Provence and have some free time there - as it stood, we were walked through it by the guide Oliver for maybe 15-20 mins and given a little bit of pointless information to be quite frank. This was a missed opportunity and very frustrating. It was particularly more so given that the lunch stop had been in Fountaine de Vacluse where the season is effectively over and the village is minuscule, you don’t need 75 minutes here - it was a complete mismanagement of time, particularly when we didn’t get to actually visit Gordes itself, only the viewpoint. Similar time wise with Roussillon - pretty but you don’t need to spend one hour there. Overall, this was an average tour which could have been so much better and didn’t need to be as long in certain places.
Excellent experience. Villages and places visited were very interesting. Oliver, our guide, was knowledgeable, professional and courteous.
Covered a lot of Provence in a day. Our guide Flo was full of energy and provided good explanations throughout the day. Tour appears to be in 2 parts. We visited a few villages in the morning then came back to Avignon to pick up some people for the half day afternoon tour. Would have had less travel time if this was exclusively a full day tour.
Our guide Silvia was great. She provided a running commentary about the places we were passing and the towns that we visited, along with the histories of each. The van was clean and comfortable. We could hear our guide because she had a microphone. Of course it would’ve been nice to spend more time in each town, but it wasn’t possible on this tour. Silvia also provided restaurant suggestions in Avignon when our tour was over. Highly recommend this tour with Silvia.
See all the top destinations in the area without having to drive. I could not believe France contains so many diverse places in such a small area. It’s a trip I’ll remember forever. Minimal walking required & plenty of spots for food & toilets. Our guide was very welcoming & knowledgeable. Amazing value!
Oliver was our amazing guide for this beautiful day. He was animated and informative. Our tour was in English, and there were only 5 of us total in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Oliver personalized the tour, he was easy to understand, and you could really tell how much he loved Avignon, Provence, and all of our sights, especially the aquaduct. We had a wonderful time with Oliver on 29/8/24. The booking provided clear and easy meeting point instructions and everything ran smoothly.
The driver was a 10. The issues were 1. Vehicle was mini van style for 8 passenger, 2 in front 3 in middle, 3 in rear. This is too close to sit with strangers. The vehicle sb mini bus design with 2 seats an isle and 2 seats. 2. Our group had 5, at the half way point of the 10 hour tour you called the driver back to the original meet up place to pick up 3 more people. Rather than cram 8 people into this design of a vehicle we disembarked and didn't receive the tour we were expecting from viator. We used viator just a few months previous in New York and the vehicle was designed as mini bus and was very comfortable.
Ghislane was a great tour guide! He gave us tons of info about the area and tips on how to take the best pictures and where to go
The tour made it super easy to see the sights near Avingon! These sights are a must see if you’re in the area. Our guide was super nice and responsive to questions.
Emile, our tour guide was friendly, very knowledgeable, punctual, and a great driver. His personal stories gave us a wonderful idea of how living in Provence looks like. Overall, a lovely day where we saw lots of this beautiful region, without the hassle of driving through hilltop towns. Highly recommend this day tour.
We enjoyed the overview of Provence for our first-time visit to the area, as well as the small group experience which was well worth the extra cost. Our driver and tour guide, Bridget, took good care of us. Highly recommend for first time visitors to Provence. We stopped at many villages (including lunch stop at Roussillon) and had a quick walking tour of Saint Remy. A highlight was UNESCO world heritage site Pont du Gard (1st Century Roman aqueduct), which is a must-see. One note of caution: Those who suffer from motion sickness should prepare accordingly for the day on the road.
Les Baux, Pont du Gard, etc, etc were wonderful places to see and visit. The weather was a bit rainy, but Viator was not responsible! The only issue we had was that the microphone/speaker was not working, so it was difficult to hear on the back.
This was an excellent way to spend a day in Avignon. Emmanuel was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed his commentary. The trip took us to three hilltop villages in the morning and then we had to go back to Avignon to drop off one group and pick up another group that had scheduled the afternoon tour. This took time that I wish we had spent going on to the next part of our trip. The afternoon was enjoyable with a trip to beautiful St Remy and then to the Pont du Gard, which was the highlight of the trip for us. We could spend a day there and an hour was too short. Also it was the last stop of a long day. But it was wonderful to see. All in all, a great way to spend a day and see things you would not be able to see without a car.
Brilliant tour - our guide was deeply knowledgeable, passionate and friendly to chat with. Selection of sites covered during the trip was perfect. Would highly recommend
Our guide, Lucille was wonderful in every way. She was knowledgeable and made a special effort to help me as I have trouble walking as fast as the rest of the group. I cannot say enough to complement her.
This tour offers experience of different parts of Provence, mainly in Luberon. Opportunity to see some nice little towns, Roman monument of Pont du Gard and some nature gems. Itinerary is well designed- packed, but not exhausting. Mini van was comfortable and our guide Florian was very nice and experienced and ready to answer all our questions. This tour is not focused on lavender fields, although we have seen some on our way. The tour started and finished on time, pick-up was according to the plan.
This was a great way to see the Provence area around Avignon without a car. Our guide, Joce, was fantastic, very knowledgeable, polite and accommodating. We were a group of seven in a van. We saw four towns and the pont du gard. Also had time to have a leisurely lunch. Great tour.
Amazing tour! We had a great time. Lea was really friendly and went the extra mile for us. Highly recommend and we'd definitely take a tour with her again.
We had a most enjoyable tour with Florian aa our guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about each area visited. We highly recommend it
the guide Lea is very nice and she explained each point in details. she could even told us the special things /trees / lavender when she was driving
Although this was a long day packed with so many great sights, or guide was outstanding! The van was spotless and comfortable.
Our tour guide Joce is absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful experience. He is very knowledgeable and everyone in the group is friendly. We left around 8:30 am and back to Avignon around 7pm. Breathtaking views for all the stops! Highly recommended!
Our tour guide, Jocelyn. He was wonderful! Full of information, great personality, energy and so kind to me, with my walking problems. Recommend him without any reservations!
Lea, our tour guide, was exceptional! She spoke 3 languages (English, French, and Spanish), had a great sense of humor as well as knowledge of the Luberon area. Her driving was superb. Lea answered questions thoughtfully. She was kind and respectful of her passengers.
The tour took us through the countryside of a lovely part of Provence. We visited hilltop villages and the Roman aqueduct. The guide, Immanuel, was very knowledgeable about the area and he was very engaging with everyone.
We were extremely pleased with our small tours on October 1 and 2. The bus was a great size, and the driver was good. We loved our tour guide, Lucy, she shared wonderful information and moved at our pace. We were able to take photos and walk a little slower when needed. I appreciate your flexibility when our numbers were changing and when we flipped the two days. I would highly recommend to anyone to use your company. Thank you!
The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Great way to see a lot of sights. It is a long day trip, but well worth the money if you don’t have a car. Will highly recommend it to other travelers alike.
I had a fantastic day with Robin as our guide. He has good knowledge, excellent command of English, and a great sense of humour. Platinum service include making sure that we were dropped off as close to attractions as possible and providing excellent and concise information about what, where and when efficiently. The places we visited were all very different and it was an excellent use of the available hours to see all 6 major highlights.
The tour described as Pont du Gard entrance ticket to be included, but it wasn’t. The driver didn’t dropped us off at the group tour entrance and left us at the individual tourist entrance. So we had to pay 13 euro to enter. Pony du gard receptionist called the tour company, and the tour company informed her that we will receive the refund, but no refund even after formally requesting the refund at the tour site and emailing the company. The tour description is very deceptive.
Having to break up the tour snd drive back to Avignon and pick up other passengers. Plus they were French so once again we had take time to hear both. Tour guide (Marc) lost his energy in afternoon and was not as engaged
A horrible excursion during which neither the places nor the scheduled downtimes were respected. No lunch break planned. Everything at a run. At midday we are told that we are going to return unexpectedly via Avignon to take 2 additional people (resulting in 1h30 of additional tossing in a van). Driving of the van by the guide dangerous and very uncomfortable for the passengers. Unscheduled stops at shops (guide and shopkeeper agreement).
Fantastic tour of all the essentials in the area. I definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time but want to see the region. Jerome was a wonderful guide, with a wealth of knowledge for all the major spots and stopped at additional places that weren’t in the original tour description. Roads are bumpy and you’ll get jostled in the van bit, but overall wonderful tour!
A fun trip around Avignon. Our tour guide (Jérôme) was both knowledgeable and experienced. He gave special attention to both the rhythm of the whole group and of individuals/families with special needs. When I go back to Avignon for the theater festival, I’ll certainly take the tour again. You just can’t get enough of Provence, can you?
We visited some amazing places in Provence that we probably would not have seen otherwise. The tour guide was reallly good at stopping for photos and took great pictures. We would have appreciated more commentary as we were driving about the country side, history, things we were seeing. The guide was kind to buy us a coffee at a morning stop and water after our last stop, both of which were much appreciated. By afternoon our guide was barely talking. It seemed off that we started our tour in Avignon, then by early afternoon we’re back on Avignon to pick up a half day group. Would have rather just continued and ended tour earlier. But the biggest issue for all 4 of us was the driving. The guide was driving so fast and 3 of us got motion sickness. We were just relieved to return without hitting another car, a pedestrian, a biker.
How our guide Jerome showed us local sites that we would have missed on our own. Jerome knowledge and experience made our trip very enjoyable
I read reviews here and tried to follow them up to see if I wanted to spend a day this way. They were mostly true. What I missed is this. If the company wants to adjust, it will. We ended up with what amounts to two half day trips because the company put half day people with us in the morning and then in the afternoon. Driving back to Avignon is a big waste of time (like an hour and a half?). The tour is very rushed as it is. For instance, we only drove through St Remy. Had I known this could happen, I would have cancelled. We still had fun but it felt too irritating to recommend
It was nice to experience a “smidge” of the Luberon and see to Pont du Gard. Our guide, Mark, was articulate and caring. You need to know this is mostly a drive by subject to the tour company’s scheduling. For instance we drove through St Remy for that advertised segment. We had our longest time at Pont du Gard which had the least to see. Our whole-day tour was really two half day tours put together. Both started in Avignon so time was spent returning there and waiting for the next to start as we let people off and added them. Had I understood this I would have cancelled due to the waste of time. I figured it might be rushed in spots but not because I was paying to go pick up their next customer. The guide told us to buy food in one town because lunch would be rushed in the next, which did not have great places to picnic. Lack of communication and transparency made me feel taken advantage of and disappointed.
Good in theory and spirit, but poor execution. We were a large group and got divided up into two vans. About half way through, my van had to go back to Avignon to pick up people who had booked just a half day tour, resulting in less time for lunch in one of the villages. Since we then had new people, some of the same information was repeated. The two vans had different experiences, timings, and information. Our guide, Jerome, was hustling to give us a good experience and stopped at a few extra sites, which was appreciated. However, we drove around in circles, took short cuts that actually took longer, and it was clear there wasn’t a set established driving route. Also, we were driving waay to fast and still it took 11 hours. Maybe less is more? The website advertised a skip the line experience at Pont de Gard so I thought that included the museum/experience/top of the aquatic-duct, but really it was just access to the site itself. In the end, we did make it to all the sites as advertised, mostly, but it was an experience and a little more finisse is needed.
