Private Sailing Excursion & Provencal Picnic

We had an unforgettable experience with Maxime, who has thoughtfully curated an authentic Mediterranean sailing experience. We were surprised to learn that Maxime was happy to teach us a bit about sailing during our trip and we loved every moment; he was very patient with us!! The swim, followed by the picnic lunch, were also exceptional. An unforgettable experience. Merci beaucoup Maxime et à bientôt!!

Maybe with the reviews I should’ve not been surprised, however even with the high bar, I was… Six hours of sailing, wine, napping and a swim. It was great, truly relaxing and a wonderful way to come down from a hectic wedding weekend. For the cost is a must NOT miss activity for those couples looking to unwind. Maxine was attentive, but not overbearing — we felt both cared for and alone. My only note, we were two people. I couldn’t do this with another couple or my young family. The boat was perfect for our party size.

Amazing day out in the water. Maxime was very patient when we tried to sail ourselves. He brought us to a great swim spot and prepared a super fresh lunch with homemade dips. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time with Maxime. Spent the day sailing and got to enjoy the beautiful blue water. Definitely bring sunscreen and clothes to cover up if you don’t want to burn. I would strongly recommend to anyone! Thanks again!

My fiancé and i had a great time! It was honestly so relaxing i fell asleep on the boat when we were hanging out at the island. The fresh veggies and dip were delicious and the service was great. Would do it again!

We had a lovely day with Maxime, we sailed around to Saint Honorat to see the Monastery and spent the day in a beautiful swimming spot where we enjoyed delicious fresh market vegetables for lunch. It was a wonderful relaxed day.

Maxime was an excellent host! Let us even operate his boat. He was extremely kind and patient. Lunch was a platter of assorted vegetables from local markets with homemade tzatziki and anchovy sauce. Bread and melon were also served. It was exceptional. Docked at one of the islands and let us walk around and swim. This was an awesome experience and give it the highest recommendation!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time cruising to the Îles de Lérins. Truly a dream brought to reality! Maxime was a gracious host, willing to converse and help us with our practice en français, and thoroughly capable in English when our French was lacking. Despite a windier day than normal, he made sure we traveled at a comfortable speed the whole journey. We were also able to lend a small hand sailing, although Maxime handled the boat himself with grace and speed. A fantastic market-fresh spread of veggies, a bottle of rosé, and some fabulous homemade tzaziki and anchovie sauce was provided for a delicious picnic on the water. The water was perfect and we very much enjoyed swimming between the islands while the picnic was prepared. A brief relaxation in the sun on the front of the boat after lunch was delightful, and a great way to work through some jet lag. The return journey was quite smooth even in the higher than normal winds, due to the captain's professionalism and prepared-ness. You must take this trip!

Maxim provided excellent hospitality and company. We learned about sailing, local modern information/history! If you are sun sensitive being sunscreen and layers as you are in the sun for 6hrs. Bring good shoes to walk on the island, as it is about a mile of hiking paths and occasionally rocky. The statues are a bit tricky to find and deeper underwater than anticipated

We had the best time on this sailing excursion with Maxime! We had a group of 3 girls and just enjoyed getting to sail around and relax. We got swim around and jump off the boat which is really all we wanted to do. The veggie tray was a highlight of this tour and everything was so tasty! We opted out off getting of the boat and walking around the island where the monks are, but I'm sure it would have been very cool to see. The length of the excursion was great, and did not feel rushed, we also thought the price was very fair for what all was included. We were comfortable with 3 girls on the boat, but think that more than 3 might would be tight! Overall we had such an amazing time and would highly recommend to other groups or couple who want to go sailing on the French Rivera!

We had the most amazing time on this tour. Lunch was delicious and the entire day was incredibly relaxing! We were able to swim, take pictures, and tan! I would recommend this to anyone.

Nice and quiet boat ride with delicious lunch and wine. My husband and I enjoyed it. Don’t forget sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. We didn’t swim because the water was cold for us (we’re used the the warm water of Florida and the Caribbean), but we saw others swimming and they found the water just fine.

We hadn't realised it was a private tour and we were amazed!!! We had a lovely time!!!! Both beaches we visited were spectacular and so was the light lunch Maxim had prepared for us!

The trip was amazing and so nice for me and my boyfriend! We loved the trip and the food was amazing, we wish to go again and explore more! My boyfriend loved getting to sail and we loved trying to find the statue in the water even though we were unsuccessful on this occasion

I booked this trip for my partner for his 40th birthday and I am so glad I did! The day was perfect! Max was the perfect host, very knowledgeable, made us feel at ease and relaxed. He was happy to go with our plans for the day, no pressure! We enjoyed our picnic aboard which was fresh and delicious, and we were able to swim in the sea. We had ample time to explore the island of sant marguerite which was ao beautiful. My partner was able to sail the boat on the back which he loved. I would highly recommend this trip, 10/10.

Absolutely wonderful day with Maxime on Mambo 2. He was very attentive and friendly. He allowed us to steer the boat under his supervision, and we always felt very safe. The picnic was a great touch. A thoroughly enjoyable time, couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Would definitely recommend booking with him.

We couldn’t have had a better experience! Our captain Maxim was so knowledgeable about sailing and let my boyfriend sail a bunch, he loved it. Maxim was very kind and laid back, he took us to an island across from Cannes where we were able to explore on our own and relax on the beach. The lunch prepared for us was delicious and fresh, we ate with a beautiful view of the mountains and water in front of us. The Rosé was great as well. Highly recommend!!! Excellent sailing excursion on a gorgeous Fall day in Cannes. Maxim is a great host, has a really low key demeanor and was extremely flexible with whatever we wanted to do or where to go with the sailboat. And as sailors ourselves, he willingly let us do a lot of the steering - without any critique when we occasionally got a bit distracted by all there is to see fr-om the water side. The snorkeling on backside of the island was really nice, as was the lunch. It's a great way to see Cannes from a different perspective than the hustle-bustle of the city. I'd highly recommend this trip.

Everything was amazing from start to finish - truly once in a lifetime! swimming in the crystal clear waters with fish and snorkeling gear to eating a wonderful lunch everything was amazing!!!

Max is an excellent skipper! He created an amazing experience for us and we loved every minute of it.

This sailing experience with Max was incredible! It was our best day spent in the French Riviera. He was accommodating, fun, attentive, and so patient! We are two best friends on a girls trip and he taught us the basics of sailing and how to tie some knots! The lunch was delicious and the Max’s homemade anchovies dip & homemade tzatziki were out of this world! Do yourself a favor and book this excursion! He even treated us to an extra hour on board and offered to stop and get us some ice cream! He was a 10/10 captain!

I bought this as a present for my partner who turned 40 this summer and wow - worth every penny. The day was perfect for sailing and Maxime was awesome. He let my partner steer the boat (which he was really happy about), made us some lovely lunch and was just super chilled and friendly. Maxime was also great at communicating with us prior to the day which really put my mind at rest. Unforgettable stuff!

Never imagined that a private full day sailing in Cannes would be feasible for us , but it was . Max was a great host , so passionate about his sailboat , sailing and hometown. We spent most of the day on the boat (our preference) sailing around the islands among amazing yachts and sailboats, but made a stop to walk and swim with locals and tourists along a beach . Lunch on board was a terrific variety of crudite with tadziki and anchovy paste . Our 16 year old said that she could eat a veggie lunch like this everyday . Thank you Max for providing us one of the top experiences of our 2 week family vacation . Remember to bring sunscreen .

Spent a day sailing with a friend and Máxime was an amazing guide. We anchored for swimming east of the docks for a bit by request, and it was wonderful. Docked on the island after and walked the island, swam out to see some of the underwater statues on Cannes beach. Lunch was wonderful, clean and refreshing. Would go again in heartbeat. 100% recommend.

Would rate this experience 6 stars if possible, lovely classic sailing boat, the captain is a local experienced sailor who knows the area very well, we sailed to the St Honorat island, great walk to the Abbey and then had a lovely picnic lunch on the boat with local wine followed by swimming in beautiful blue waters, highly recommend it

By far the absolute best thing that I’ve booked in this entire area. The Captain was so kind, engaging but also gave us privacy. The boat is beautiful and the experience was intimate and romantic. We spent the day exploring the Bay of Cannes, surrounding islands, swimming, eating and enjoying wine. The Captain went to the market and prepared a beautiful arrangement of vegetables for lunch, made homemade Tzatziki, homemade anchovy vinaigrette (I could drink it because it was so good) and provided a memorable picnic on the boat. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Great experience! We loved getting to see the island and had fun swimming around in a nearby bay. The lunch was very fresh and we appreciated the local touches.

What can I say other than complete bliss. My partner and I had the sail of a lifetime with Maxime. It was her birthday and I wanted to book something special for her and booking with Maxime was far from a mistake. We met Maxime at the docks and we were greeted with a kind welcoming bonjour, for our first times on a sailboat we were quite nervous, this personal start made us feel comfortable right away. As Maxime set sail he discussed about Cannes and we got to learn some interesting facts about his boat and the numerous others we saw on the water. If you’re prone to sea sickness/motion sickness I would recommend to take some Gravol or another anti nausea medicine an hour or so before the sail, I ended up feeling a little sick in the beginning but Maxime was very polite and helpful about the situation. We did our first stop at Saint Marguerite where we got to explore and find somewhere to swim for a couple hours. He showed us where to go and gave us a couple towels as well as goggles for the water. We then came back to the boat where we stayed for lunch, which was delicious, and drank some Prosecco. We got to cheers for my partner’s birthday ! While we sat at the front of the boat, breathing in the beautiful salty air and catching the afternoons warm sun, off we went to another island where Maxime let us stop and swim near the shore. Here we saw plenty of fish and I got to take some pictures of the, by now, really happy birthday girl. From here, we hopped back on the boat and seat sail on our return to the docks. As we basked in the late afternoon sun at the front of the boat, my partner and I fell asleep and felt nothing but safe with Maxime leading the way. As we got close to shore, we set our feet out on the side and enjoyed the last few minutes of paradise. We docked and said our sweet goodbyes to not only our captain for the day but hopefully a new friend in Cannes. Nothing could’ve of been better on my partners birthday but to get the chance to share a boat where it was two people’s birthdays (our captain as well)! This was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you again Maxime and thank you for sharing your birthday with us.!

Our day with Maxíme was wonderful. A peaceful, relaxing six hours on the Bay of Cannes, with a stop for crudité and swimming. A perfect complement to the overcrowded experience of Cannes (in high season). Heartily recommend Maxíme!

It was incredible! It was just me and my fiance and we had the entire boat to ourselves with Maximo. He tailored the sailing to what we wanted to experience. He offered to come with us everywhere we went so we knew where to go. And the home cooked lunch was extra special. We spent so much time in the water and sipping rosé. It was truly so special.

What a wonderful day spent on the water! The trip was very catered towards what we wanted. Lots of sun, swimming and yummy fresh food. It was the perfect escape for me and my husband and we would 10/10 recommend!

An exceptional experience. Maxime was beyond wonderful. We spent the day sailing to the island, exploring on our own - swimming in the crystal clear water, enjoying a space of calm natural beauty within site of Cannes- then a fabulous (and very generous) lunch in a quiet cove was truly perfect. Maxime was absolutely amazing! It was such a fun and beautiful way to sail from Cannes and see a bit of Sainte-Marguerite. We got the chance to swim twice and a nice lunch on the boat of fresh vegetables and a baguette. The homemade tzaziki and anchovy sauce were extremely delicious and he even told us the recipes. My husband had a bunch a questions about the sailboat and the region and Maxime gladly answered them all. A great, slow way to spend a Saturday in the Cote D'zure.

I participated with my fiance. Especially our captain Maxime was a completely Mediterranean gentleman. What he offered was much more than what was promised. An activity that everyone should definitely experience. I strongly recommend it to everyone.
